Why we need an Institute for Human Rights - Audio

UCL

1 Episode

The UCL Institute for Human Rights was established in October 2009. It brings together expertise in Laws, Political Science, Economics, Epidemiology and Public Health with student activists, non-governmental organisations and other parties to undertake rounded research that can influence human rights policy around the world.

In the wake of David Cameron's renewed commitment to abolish the Human Rights Act in the UK should the Conservatives come to power, Dr Saladin Meckled-Garcia, co-founder of the UCL Institute for Human Rights, discusses why the time is ripe for this kind of cross-disciplinary work - and the implications of the Leader of the Opposition's stance.
