She has also played the violin at the Opening Ceremony of the BNP Paribas Women’s Tennis Association Finals at the Singapore Indoor Stadium in October 2018.

As a professional actor, Mathi has been awarded Mediacorp’s Vasantham Pradhana Vizha Best Actor Awards in 1999, 2003 & 2004.
He received further recognition as Best Actor in the Asian Television Awards 2006. He acted in all 4 seasons of Channel 5’s Code of Law between 2012 to 2017, as lawyer Sanjay Devaraj. From 2015-2018 he acted in Channel 5’s Tanglin as Dr. Bhaskar, a character much loved by the fans of the series who refer to him affectionately as ‘DR B’. He also starred in Toggle’s Lifespam as ‘Disconnected Dan’ in 2017. Mathi played ‘Dr. David’ in the movie Penguin which was released internationally in Tamil/Telugu/Malayalam.
The role has earned him much praise. Mathi received international recognition by playing main roles in Star Vijay’s Khakee in 2008 and Thayumanavan in 2013-14. His fans still refer him affectionately as ‘Mathi Appa’. He received the Favourite Actor and Favourite Foreign Find Award nominations in the first Vijay Television Awards in 2014.
