If local legends, lore, and laughter are your thing, tune in to our podcast where we travel small town USA, one ghostly tale at a time.
Finally, we get to get away, even if it's just vicariously through ghost stories. Welcome to tropical Kaneohe, HI. We sure try our best on these pronunciations, but you see, we're simple folk from Indiana, and darn it if it's not a struggle. But we're still respectful, just as you should be. No need to get naked and piss yourself about it... just listen to the episode.

Every time one of these comes around it feels like the first time in a long time. You all put up with our distracted antics each episode, and now, finally, we are bringing you an episode of nothing but distractions. We talk devastating TV shows, the days shenanigans, and dreams. So many dreams. Some scary, some not so scary, some disturbing in multiple senses of the word. Either way, strap in and get ready to never know what's going to come out of our mouths next.

We find ourselves back in Kansas, an unsuspecting state who keeps their haunted claims to a reasonable level. Atchison is apparently a hub for the hauntings, you should check out their ghost tour! But we find ourselves in a bit of a dark tale at Molly's Hollow. It probably shouldn't be a surprise coming from a state that has a historical event known as "Bleeding Kansas". It's rough out here, and we've got the ghosts to prove it.

We tried to steer ourselves in a different direction this time in Spencer, Oklahoma. It's been a while since we've covered a church, and this one is giving big "random scary church in Brazil, IN" vibes. If you've listened to our earlier episodes then you know. There's lots of lore here, but is there any substance? Listen to find out.

We've had claims of the most haunted locations in cities, in states, and even in the country, but Louisiana is claiming to have one of the most haunted places in the world. And honestly, given it's past, we wouldn't blame it. Myrtles Plantation has seen some devastation in it's time, and it seems like those spirits are ready to share their stories.

This location has just what you're looking for on your next vacation: the sun, the waves, and the ghosts. The Island Hotel in Cedar Key has a rich history, but also a long history, which means it has seen wars, hardships, and other devastations. The deaths tied to this hotel are numerous, but not necessarily sound. Still, there may be some truth to the stories, otherwise how would we have these thirteen ghosts running about?

We weren't sure if we'd ever come back to this location, but as fate would have it, we finally made it happen. This has been a full circle moment two decades in the making, so it begs the question; was the wait worth it? Well, we don't want to spoil anything, but one of us may have almost walked out on their scariest encounter to date. So.. probably, yea. It was worth it.

Well, we're back in New York in the unsuspecting hamlet of Thiells. Some may overlook a "city" of this size, but not us. One, because it's in our tagline, and two, well, it can't be that unsuspecting if Ghost Adventures has been here. And if it's good enough for Ghost Adventures then it's good enough for us. We've got some run of the mill asylum stuff happening here, but there may be something darker waiting in the hallways this time.

A lady of many talents, these grounds have seen it all. A TB facility, a prison, a hospital, some of them at the same time. They tried their best, but TB and violent poisoners are a nasty thing, so these buildings have still seen tens of thousands of deaths. So this may come as a shock, but.. she's haunted. Well, we didn't intend for a click bait moment on the last episode, but we are glad we came back for a part two of this location. The first cover of this location proved to be much more active than we initially assumed, and this continuation only ramps that up. This episode took us back to our roots with dramatized intros, multiple cuts, and chaos galore. But we got to the end, and we got there together. So give this one a listen, and we'll see you on the other side. (Also, BIG NEWS at the end of the episode, so stick around!)

We've said it once, and we'll say it again. It is literally always the least suspecting places that come out swinging, and this small Nevada town is no different. Finding info on her was a challenge, but clearly the spirits like to speak for themselves here. We think that's enough click bait-y material, so just do yourself a favor and start listening already.

Lord knows we always have some asides throughout our episodes, so we decided to let loose, and see if those unscripted asides would give us a full episode. And to no ones surprise, we sure did it. We've talked about locations rich with history, but now we're covering a location that is just simply rich. This is such a beautiful affluent neighborhood, we almost forgot we were talking about ghosts, but don't you worry. Those are not in short supply here. This looming dark tower has an even darker history, and, when the rules are adhered to, possibly even darker outcomes.

We may be in the states, but this castle has traveled far across space AND time, standing for over five hundred years. Chester Thorne showed us with a little money, and a lot more money, you really can have it all, including a beautiful scenic castle in the rolling hills of Washington state. If you think after 500 years this castle hasn't seen some deaths, you'd be dead wrong. And it looks like they're still sticking around.

She's a location of many .. MANY names, but it's not just for show. She's been through some stuff, and has actually stood as all of these things. Especially when we go back to it's history of housing and caring for both confederate and union soldiers. Any time war is involved you know there's gonna be some tragedy, and this is no exception, but does that mean that it's haunted?

We're getting big Alton vibes from this location, but this week we find ourselves in St. Joseph, MO at one of the more interesting museums we've come across. Is this place haunted? Luna-Otera, La Luna, The Luna. A mansion of many names, but still a mansion nonetheless (and if you heard Kelsey say it wrong in the intro, no you didn't). This location is surprisingly and thankfully lacking in tragic backstories. So where do the spirits come from? This may just be a case of energies left behind where they felt most at home, and they sure seem like they still feel at home.

It's TIIIIIMMMMEEEEEE! Halloween is here and we are thriving, but after a very busy month we've decided to treat ourselves, and hopefully you, to another fun filled Halloween twin tangent! This time we've got movies, mind reading, mad libs, and we really hope you enjoy the sound of nearly silent wheezing, cause this is LITTERED with just that.

Another Thursday, another asylum, but that seems to just come with the territory, doesn't it? This time we're up in Michigan, and we've got a pretty lengthy history here, and even some documented tragedies on our hands, but will that make this place haunted?

Kelsey doesn't like to consider herself a pessimist, more like a realist, and she'll call BS when she sees it. So did she call it this time on this location? Of course. Was she right? Of course not. We hate to be wrong, but sometimes it's so nice when we are. Give this one a chance, and make it to the end to see what we mean. Cause she's wild.

We know we mention it all the time, but we should have learned after Tunnelton to not underestimate a location as simple as a tunnel. Who would have thought that the history of a tunnel could be one of the deadliest we've covered? This one's dark, and (luckily for us) very much haunted. So let's discuss.

You're seeing correctly, it's not Thursday, and this is not a duplicate episode, we're back in Rhode Island at the Conjuring House! We learned from our last episode (unsurprisingly) that there is a ton going on here, and one of the most notable paranormal teams out there seems to think so as well. Sam and Colby have a 4 part series covering this location, and every one of them is so packed we figured we would bring them all to you in 4 parts as well. So buckle up, cause we're making up for lost time this October, and you're bound to see a few more bonus episodes.

It's the most wonderful time of the year! October is finally here, and we decided to kick it off big with one of the most recognizable haunted locations to those even outside of the paranormal realm, the conjuring house. This is a long one, but we feel it's worthy of that, and to be honest, we could have covered even more. Who knows, tis the season to give the paranormal community what they want, so that may not be off the table. Only time will tell ...

Well, we made it, 200! Of course not without a few bumps, illnesses, and god knows what else along the way, but better late than never. So we tried to put together a little something special for all of you. If Kelsey doesn't lose too much sleep over it, you should be SEEING us, as well as hearing us talk about our "second" trip to the Indiana State Sanatorium. Here's hoping all the work was worth it to see us simply not know how to act in front of a camera.

We're back in good old Colorado. It may not be a small town this time, but the big cities still have some hauntings to share. We may have had some doubts about this place, but it always turns out ok in the end, and this one may run a little deeper than we initially thought it would.

We've always said some of the best stuff comes from where you least expect it, and we guess there's no where more unassuming than North Dakota. You're gonna wanna give this one a listen.

If we had a nickel for every time we've cried on this podcast in recent history, we'd have two nickels. Which isn't a lot, but it's weird that it's happened twice. This one was to be expected though. This is part true crime, part unexpected haunting. This is a recent and very well known case, so we're sure you know some of the details of the murders, but what about what was left behind?

Every time a twin tangent comes around it feels like it's been long overdue. We've been itching to stray from our usual path, and we've landed on some good old fashioned band rivalries. Sometimes the spookiest of things are found in the most unexpected places. Take, for instance, the small city of Lead, South Dakota. Welcome back to the rolling hills of Tennessee. This week we are in the teeny tiny town of Petros, which apparently has a lot more to offer than would originally seem. Well, we've found ourselves at the end of our US territory run, and what better place to end it than in the Virgin Islands? We've never been there before, but honestly, after this episode neither of us would mind a little trip there, hauntings included. Speaking of hauntings, they've sure got 'em. We'll all learn a new word today as we discuss the atoll (pronounced "at-uhl" apparently?) that is Palmyra. Much like ghosts, it's not the things that you see her that are the most spooky, but the things that you can't. How can an island with no history of indigenous life have a haunted history, you ask? We've talked colloquialisms before, we've talked etymology, and this is still in that umbrella, but sometimes there are names for things that just don't make any sense, but we never think to question it, until now. Leave it to the twins that think too hard about everything to break down the origins of everyday objects and items. Some of them are a little more straight forward than others, and some of them are just gross. But all of them are at least mildly interesting.

This time we are discussing The Bader Hotel in Terre Haute, so right in our own backyard. This building has seen many iterations in its history, including a death inside the building. Let's see if they had any evidence for us.

It's everyone's favorite time of the month, our fifth Thursday Twin Tangent! 🎉 And this week we have a special one for you. We got the opportunity to sit down and talk to local author Cole Gray on the upcoming release of her next book. We picked her brain about writing processes, inspiration, and where she plans to go from here. We love supporting other local creators, and as you're hearing this you can also support her by visiting The Magpies Nest in Terre Haute this Saturday (2/1) from 6pm-8pm for her newest book release party! Also make sure to check out the links below to catch her other works and goings-on. We hope to see you guys there, and we'll catch you next week.

Welcome back to another rousing episode! This week we're heading south to Huntsville Alabama and the Maple Hill Cemetery. We know cemeteries are always set up for haunted success, but it helps when the cemetery is over 200 years old, and most likely had its fair share of tragedies on the grounds themselves. I mean, with sites such as "the Bipp family and their haunted rocking chair" and "dead children's playground" what else could you ask for?

Welcome back to another episode, and on a Saturday no less! We're glad you could join us in Medicine Bow, Wyoming for a surprisingly fruitful visit to the Virginian Hotel. We didn't know how this would end up panning out, but I think we were pleasantly surprised. We even got a little scare of our own at the end. Tbh, we're still scared now ...

Happy new year, everyone! We're glad you could join us for another year full of hauntings and hopefully more happenings. We hope to have a lot in store for you, but for now let's start in Exeter Town, Rhode Island at The Ladd School. The history is pretty rough, which is unfortunate for them, but fortunate for us that there is definitely unrest here, and, thus, some convincing evidence as well.

Well, Vermont gave us a doozy this week. We're stepping a little off of our usual beaten path (pun intended), and instead exploring the Bennington Triangle and its paranormal concept. There is definitely some otherworldly work at play here, because there's nothing else we can come up with to explain the mysteries of this forest. And it's hard to come up with another explanation when the triangle leaves you with no evidence.

Oh Oklahoma, you never fail to disappoint. This week we're in Guthrie, and it's always the locations we have mildly high hopes for that pull through for us. The Stone Lion Inn may be lacking in history, or any reason for hauntings, but that doesn't stop it from producing evidence that gives us cold chills.

That's right, Kelsey with her still slightly sultry voice is here to help Meghan weave a tale of ghosts in the possible thousands in Yorktown Texas. If there is one thing we won’t shy away from on these segments, is the morbid (it’s in the name, ya’ know). And this week’s episode is especially touchy. With recent events and our strong stance on access to mental health resources, this episode gets particularly somber.
So it’s great that it’s available for everyone! Yes, this episode is being offered for free. If you are not currently a Patreon Donor, you’re missing out on other great, bonus episodes that can be just as dark as this, or as funny as our normal banter. We've encountered a lot of ladies in our line of work, and this location is no different as we encounter The Red Lady, a color we've come across surprisingly only a few times. Welcome back to another wonderful Thursday with your favorite spooky podcast. This week we are in Glenn Dale, Maryland; an interesting "city" adopted as a suburb of our countries capital. This town is full of surprises, financially stable, an almost none existent poverty rate, and still they're humble, claiming this hospital to be the "fourth most haunted location in Maryland". We appreciate the honesty, and if you ask us, they might actually be a little too modest in saying so. If the evidence is real, this may be one of the most intelligent hauntings we've come across. This week we are at the sister location of one of our favorite investigations to date, the Crawfordsville Rotary Jail. Another rotary jail, this one being the only three story one ever built, this one is unique in its design and the inmates it held. It housed one of the most infamous murderers in the state. With five deaths inside its walls, and executions on the side, this location is primed for some good hauntings.

Well, it seems we've found ourselves at another bar and brothel, but every time has a pretty good time, so why not do it again. The small saloon in Alaska has been around for over a hundred years, and given the nature of the business it's no surprise that there have been some spirits left behind along the way. Well, we sure did travel for this months location, but sometimes some legends are better left to the imagination, right?.. Well, lore may say that Linden has one of the spookier sounding paranormal hot spots that we've seen on paper, but turns out lore is sometimes no more than that. This week we're taking you all to Monticello, Arkansas to investigate a house with a pretty sad backstory. The Allen family couldn't seem to catch a break, and as each family member passed it seemed that their spirits always seemed to end up back at home. But one of the saddest stories also holds one of the most active spirits; the spirit of LaDell Allen. Overcome with the pain of lost love , she took her own life, and it seems she may still be looking for that love even in the afterlife.

Given the finnicky weather we've been having in the Midwest lately, we're glad to be living vicariously through our location today, Honolulu, Hawaii. According to our studies, if you ask the locals, it seems like everywhere you turn there is another haunted location, but we found one that brings it back to our roots of local lore and legend. Stories that are so spooky they start to blend reality with illusion. Stories stretched across decades, even centuries, but luckily not being lost to time. If you ask us this is a pretty good one, even if we're sometimes a mess. So buckle up.

Honestly, we were a little worried about New Mexico delivering a good old fashioned haunted location, but of course they delivered. We always love a good haunted hotel, but the good news and bad news of this one is one of the rooms of the hotel is so haunted, they have prohibited access to it from guests. Even going as far as to padlock the room. So what can be so scary that they have to lock the patrons out, or in this case, keep the bad spirits locked in? Listen to find out for yourself.

This month our travels brought us a little closer to home as we investigated the (fairly) newly opened location of the Historic Stark Saloon in Rosedale, Indiana. We'd be lying if we said we didn't initially leave this place feeling a bit skeptical, but upon further review and reflection, it seems there may be more here than we initially realized. So let us know, what do you guys think?

We always love when a tangent rolls along, then we have a dedicated time and space to actually go off topic, but still stay on topic, you know? Anyway, when we're not recording this podcast we fill our time with other fixations, and sometimes you're just so immersed in those fixations that you need to tell the world know about them. Sometimes you even find new interests by listening to people tell you about the things they are truly passionate about, it's infectious. So that's what we're doing, and we hope you enjoy our past times as much as we do.

Who knew Idaho could have some unbelievably spooky places? And we mean unbelievable. Some of the evidence people have found here is almost too good to be true, so then, is it really true? The history was shrouded in mystery on this one, but from what we could find, we'd say this place has a right to be haunted.

Well, Florida is un/fortunately a treasure trove of interesting things and happenings, and cults really shouldn't have surprised us. Koreshan Unity had a seemingly quick rise and fall in believers. It may have had something to do with the fact that they believed in reincarnation, but when their founder died he wasn't, you know, reincarnated. Whoopsie daisy. The reason for the hauntings in this location are a little vague, but it still proved to have some interesting evidence.

They say the older the building the more haunted it's likely to be, and with a nearly 200 year old building in a 250 year old town we'd say this is a pretty good place to look. Not only does this museum have a few deaths under it's belt, but each room is filled with long forgotten articles of clothing, furniture, military and medical equipment, and of course it has its fair share of creepy dolls as well. It seems these spirits have plenty of the material world to hang onto.

Holy cow, it's finally happened. After a long dry spell we have finally investigated a location ourselves! This location came to us from a friend of a friend, and we're glad it happened, because this place was a lot. Not knowing initially what to expect this ended up being much bigger and much more daunting than we had prepared for. And that's just the way we like it. Now let's find out if we found ourselves some ghosts.

Sanitorium? Sanitarium? Is there really a difference? Well, that depends on who you ask (of course..) Either way, that's where we are, this time in North Dakota! Sometimes lovingly referred to as the sanitorium of DEATH, this hospital is barely a shell of its formal self, actually recently being condemned due to its unsafe conditions. But those that have been fortunate enough to investigate the grounds all agree on one thing; this place, is HAUNTED. So since we can't visit it any more, let's all live vicariously through The Paranormal Files once more, and see what spooky things they found this time. Spoilers, some scares aren't always paranormal ...

New York City is anything but small town America, but we can never resist a good historical background. This building has been around for over 200 years, and has housed one of Americas most notable, and arguably infamous politicians in history. But his temper may have followed him into the afterlife, along with the presence of around 20 other spirits. So what's got these spirits all worked up in one of New York's finest restaurants? Listen to find out.

Our first visit in 2024 is to Washington state, and of course the first city that comes to mind would be Govan, right? Don't worry, we hadn't heard of it either, and actually no one has for probably 40+ years. This town is essentially abandoned (aside from a married couple, and a mysterious third resident..). But what has stuck around are the ghosts from multiple unsolved murders, and according to Afterlife Echoes on YouTube, it seems they still have plenty that they need to say.

So, Portland, OR may not be "small town America", but sometimes a haunt is just too god to pass up, and with claims like most haunted place on earth, how could we say no? So down we go, to the Shanghai Tunnels beneath Chinatown in Portland, where they had a little bit of everything. Gambling, drinking, prostitution rings, and kidnapping for enslavement. This time we are living vicariously through @twinparanormal, and boy did they definitely do all of the heavy lifting for us.

Well, it seems our (virtual) travels have brought us to the wonderful state of Nebraska this week. We really went with small town America on this one and have found one of the states most haunted locations in Valentine, Centennial Hall Museum. This building stood as a high school first, and that is where our haunted tale begins. And the source of this legend? a clarinet, of course. Who knew that being in the band could be so deadly?

Like the last three Decembers, Kelsey and Madi traveled down to Madison Indiana. And like the last three Decembers, more spooky things fell into their laps. A trip to a local diner led us down another rabbit hole of haunted locations in historic Madison. It seems every time we start to search this location more and more ghosts appear. So, where are they gonna be this time?

Happy Thanksgiving, spooky crew! We’re glad you’ve decided to join us on a little getaway from family/friend shenanigans. This week we are perusing the east coast for legends of Thanksgiving ghosts, and New York and Pennsylvania did not leave us disappointed. Both involving railroads, one with an annual appearance, and one, if proven true, the largest mass murder in the state’s history, there is no shortage of fuel for ghostly hauntings. So grab a plate or two, and let’s get to it.

This is actually a location we have considered investigating in the past, but now it's a little questionable if that's even an option? Who knows, but the Joliet Prison actually packed some pretty spooky punches, even for us. There's a lot of goosebumps to go around this time, so brace yourselves.

Yes, this is actually the name of the place. There's even a skinwalker ranch right next to it! So why did it get that name? Well, obviously because of all of the skinwalkers that creep around there at night. Rooted in Native American legend, these skinwalkers have been cursed to be here, and if you ask some people, they're definitely still hanging around. We're living vicariously through The Paranormal Files as they spend hours alone in the middle of the valley, and let's just say we're glad it was them and not us.

Life is a bit hectic at the moment, so this isn't actually a place we visited, but honestly we're not even a little mad about it. Is it haunted? Maybe not, but is it spooky for literally every wrong reason? Absolutely. There is a trigger warning for this one, and the TW is this: yes. Williamsburg; one of our nations first cities. Established in the 17th century, and with deaths dating back long before then it's no wonder there would be some ghostly activity here. This home has seen some of the cities deaths first hand, some of them seemingly inexplicable. So there's no question if this house is haunted. Oh man do we love a good jail! Just something about 'em gets us going. Maybe it's the dark past that's almost certain to provide spirits, or the history behind the inmates. Well, we found out there are a number of haunted Biltmore Hotels across the country that we could've chosen from, but we're in Rhode Island today, so we picked the Biltmore in ... you guessed it. Providence, Rhode Island. And who would've thought that you could pack so much spooky into one little state? This hotel has just passed it's hundred year mark, and in that time it's created quite a reputation for itself. A lot of crazy claims, murders, assaults, animal sacrifices. And the scariest part? If some of these writers are right, then all of these ghost stories may very well be just that: stories. We'll let you decide.

Good OldPennsylvania; we expected to find a slew of stories with one of the country's first states, and of course we found them at none other than a tavern. We couldn't have made it this far without all of your support in whatever capacity you have provided. So we hope you enjoy as we take a look back at some of our funniest, scariest, or inexplicable moments. Let's hope we have just as many memorable moments on the next hundred!

It's been a little while, but we are back on the alphabet train through the United States and their spooky stories, this time stopping in Oklahoma. Fort Washita's location has housed the Native Americans, the union, the confederacy, trappers, traders, you name it, they were there. Problem was they all thought it was their land, so you can believe this caused for some confusion and frustration. Which in the 19th century, you know, meant lots of death. Lots of death= lots of spirits, so let's hear what stories this once lawless land has to tell.

It's a first Thursday which means we have a visited location for you! This time though, we were scattered to the winds as Meghan took a trip down south without Kelsey (jerk), but that's okay, because she found out that apparently Memphis is a hot bed of haunted locations. On one bus tour alone she was able to visit four different haunted locations, and may have had some paranormal encounters along the way. And if that isn't enough to suit you, maybe our own personal paranormal experiences during the recording will suffice.

We've just been itchin for another tangent, and it's finally here! This time we're going off about scandalous events. Some very much in the public eye, and some quietly swept under the rug. Both cases frustrating in their own way, but do both cases resolve? We don't want to spoil it, but judging by the length of the tangent there's obviously no shortage of passion here. But man it felt good to get it off our chests. TW for assault in the second scandal

We're back in the Midwest, and doesn't it feel good? Doesn't it?.. Well, this building started with good enough intentions as a reform school for boys, but thanks to good old capitalism that was all changed, and things quickly fell apart. This one has some pretty dark stories, as most penitentiary's do, but is this one truly haunted? I don't want to spoil it, but you'll be hard pressed to find us in the basement with those .. things. Maybe just don't look up.

Another week, another state, another city. This time a small midwestern one, which we can relate, but this is, you know, a fraction of the size. This city of less than 2000 has had a pretty quiet recent history, but the past is a different story. This haunting was brought to you by an actual murder most foul. With little understanding of why, and thanks to lost documents, almost no proof why, we learn about the fate of Sophia, and why she has chosen this library to reside in.

We should've saved the 14 hands wine for this episode, because this house has seen A LOT of people in its nearly 300 years of existing. It served a lot of purposes as housing for school girls, housing for families, even as a distillery in its infancy. Like any good haunted location this house has seen it's fair share of deaths, but one in particular is said to be seen most often, but the identity of the ghost has come in to question. So which young girl is still roaming the hallways? Maybe the potentially talking cat spirit can tell us.

Alright, so we know we've made promises in the past, and we may not have always followed through, but this time we made sure not to let you down. We made it back to Fowler Indiana for a 3 hour private investigation! We had to shake off the dust a little bit, but we're back, and ready to give you the spooky content you deserve. That is, if the hauntings live up to the hype.

We've made it to New York! And to the big apple's lesser known sister city, Appleton.. which isn't even technically a city. This little hamlet of less than 2000 people still has some ghost stories for us in the form of a manor that has existed for almost 200 years. There have been a lot of families that have come and gone through these doors, although some of the members never got a chance to leave. A few of their spirits still roam the halls, and maybe some others have joined them along the way.

Well, we've traveled west to the great American state of New Mexico. What's in New Mexico you may ask? And we would answer "that's a great question!"
What we do know for sure is, like most states before it, there is no shortage of hauntings and spirits. Our travels have brought us to a courthouse, which we've never really done before, but it also housed the county jail, and you know we love a good jail. Let's find out if this one is as haunted as the rest of 'em!

Well, that's a heck of a title, isn't it? If it doesn't make sense, that's alright. Because we are covering not one, not two, but three locations today! (Jersey is apparently a hot bed for ghosts) We'll be discussing the lore behind Jenny Jump State Forest, Ghost Lake, and Shades of Death Road. Yes, those are the actual names. This one is a bit of a doozy, but stick with us. It'll be worth it.

It's the first Thursday of the month which means drum roll we have one of our own investigations! There is a slight asterisk to this episode though .. which is we haven't actually gone yet. Due to planning issues we weren't able to book the location in time for this episode, but that just means will be hitting you with a part 2 which will (hopefully) be full of a ton of paranormal experiences! Based off of the history we cover here, it sounds like we may have a heck of a trip ahead of us. We'll be looking forward to it.

During the colder months, most people would love to travel to an island for a little getaway. Except these islands are in New Hampshire .. so they're still cold right now. Oh well, an island is an island, and a haunted island is right up our alley. Although there are no real residents here anymore, there is a very long history here with settlers arriving as early as the 17th century. And we know what that means; more time for more ghosts to accumulate. So let's see why a little group of islands is so haunted then.

Another week, another haunting; this week in Virginia City, Nevada. "Why is it called Virginia city" you may ask? Well .. we don't know, and that's not why we're here anyway. We're here to vicariously investigate the Mackay Mansion and its nearly two centuries of stories. For a city with a population of less than a thousand, they sure have found themselves a location that has been recognized by some of the most well known investigative teams. And, of course, there is no shortage of kid ghosts or rooms full of dolls, so let's get to the haunted stuff!

Well, this week we're out in Omaha Nebraska, and we decided to try something a little different. Instead of the grounds or the building being haunted, people are bringing their haunted items to this location. A husband and wife duo have taken it upon themselves to combine their love for the paranormal and fascination with collecting haunted items and open this museum. There may not be ghost children, but they've got the next best thing; haunted dolls. LOTS of haunted dolls ..

Alright, so it's not exactly "small town" America, but we couldn't pass up this St. Louis destination that regularly makes America's most haunted houses lists, could we? This location is unfortunately riddled with family tragedy, enough so that we actually want to give a trigger warning to all of you about the content heavily covered in this episode, suicide. These spirits are still around today, and have made their presence very known. Who knows, maybe we'll give it a visit in the near future; St. Louis is just like a day trip for us in the Midwest anyway.

What a surprise indeed; who would've thought we would have found ourselves here on a Monday? Definitely not us, but now that Kelsey is done being sick (again) we decided to play a little game of catch up in Mississippi. A silly little stroll turns deadly, heartbreak after what supposed to the happiest moment of a parents life, loss of life way too soon, oh and a war. This house has seen it all, so let's hear about the ghosts it's left behind. Maybe we'll even discuss the ghosts in our own home ...

Happy Thursday! And happy Thanksgiving to those of you celebrating today. Sticking with the theme of the holiday, which is obviously eating, we decided to go with another restaurant. It's surprising how many of these things are haunted, honestly. Although the idea was to keep the holiday episode light, we unfortunately encounter some pretty dark history, making for some pretty active ghosts. So what's so dark about a restaurants past you ask? Another Thursday, another state. This time we are in Scotland, Maryland vicariously living through others' investigations at Point Lookout. As is typical on the east coast, there is a long history here, and it's a bit brutal given its main backdrop of the civil war. New Orleans; one of America's most haunted cities. We've been skeptical of claims like this before, but this time we actually believe they might be on to something. The location where the LaLaurie Mansion once stood is rife with dark history. Although the original structure is no longer standing, the residual hauntings on the grounds are still experienced today. We traveled a little ways for this one, to a somewhat familiar location to interview none other than Stacie Dotson! We were very excited to be back in touch with her, and to travel south, once again, to The Willard Library in Evansville, IN. This was a memorable location for us, so we were glad to be back and talking about spooky libraries, spooky lives, and spooky food choices. It's spooky season again, and we've finally reached another 5th Thursday. Which means another twin tangent! We always look forward to every episode, but there's something extra special about those episodes where we allow the tangents to finally take over. We weren't sure how to pin down this tangents topic, but we think we've decided on "living nightmares: the things that scare us". This was pretty open ended, so we weren't sure where it would take us, but boy did it take us there. There are some trigger warnings in the middle, so listen up. Settle in, and get ready to laugh, cry, and cringe. Just don't eat the chili mac.

We're back again, and still out west, this time in the great state of Kansas. What does Kansas have, you ask? Well, we're not super sure, but we do know that it is home to some pretty old and pretty creepy houses, including the 133 year old Mcinteer Villa. It's got a little bit of everything; creaky floors and doors, shadow people, moving furniture and objects, scents, feelings, you name it it probably has it and then some. To no one's surprise, Iowa claims that they have "one of the world's most haunted schools", but what if they're actually telling the truth this time? We're not sure that we've had goosebumps like this over a location we haven't even visited yet. And if just talking about this stuff can make us uneasy, it makes you wonder how good/bad it would be to visit for ourselves? Well, we made it. It's been two years since we started this adventure, and we hope we can keep the spooky adventures going for at least a couple more! It also just so happens that our alphabetical trip through haunted America landed us right in our home state for the occasion. We made sure to cover a location we weren't sure if we'd ever be able to visit, and good and bad news is Gary Indiana has/had just the place. This home and its stories made national news, and it's not hard to see why. This house made some serious skeptics believers, and maybe this will convince those of you on the fence as well.

Who could've guessed that we, once again, found the most haunted cemetery in the state, possibly the country, and maybe even the world? Honestly though, we've been around a few cemeteries by now, and this one has one of the most extensive and diverse list of hauntings we've seen yet. Not only that, but there's quite a bit of evidence to back up these claims, and we gotta be honest, some of it's a little hard to write off. This location sounds like a paranormal investigators dream, so why are we certain we won't be visiting this place anytime soon? Listen and find out.

As promised in last months episode, we have returned to Alton to cover the overwhelming amount of haunted goings-on in this city. We took a whole new tour, and got flooded with a new slew of information and haunted stories for you all. We even walked away with some of our own experiences this time. As if it wasn't hot enough here in the Midwest, we've decided to make our way back down to sunny Hawaii for another spooky adventure, this time visiting the Hawaii Plantation Village. And if history has taught us anything, it would be that any sort of plantation in the early 20th century was probably not a pleasant place to be, and this one is no different. It's no wonder that locations like these tend to be haunted. When you enslave people for decades just for profit, it's easy to understand why some spirits may stick around to haunt the place. Honestly, we probably would too.

We've covered a lot of different haunted locations, but we gotta say, we've definitely never come across a lake before. It was a nice change of scenery, although nice may not be the right word for it. Lakes are where you go to relax, but with a history like this one, we're not sure it would feel all that relaxing. Let's "dive in" to a little bit of dark hidden American history, and learn about the lore beneath the lake.

Today we're going about as far south in the US as you can, as we travel to Brooksville, Florida. Did we still manage to throw in some Florida man stories, of course. We're only human, but more importantly we discuss the hauntings of the May-Stringer house, which actually turns out to be pretty spooky, mostly because of the similar experiences we've had at other locations (check out the Merom Livery and Rotary Jail episodes.) There's some spooky stuff about to be discussed, so get ready for some haunted Florida antics.

Welcome back to your regularly scheduled episode of Or So They Say! We're glad to be back on track, and we hope you're excited for another new traveled episode. This month, we think it's safe to say that we may have bitten off more than we could chew, which, in this case, was not a bad thing. We planned this trip for one location, and ended up with an entire haunted town. So strap in for our second two part episode as we introduce you to the town of Alton, Illinois. We hope you find this place as fascinating as we did.

It feels like it's been forever, and it sort of has, but we're finally back with another twin tangent! Hopefully you're as excited as we are to have another one; we've kept a lot of tangents held back just for you all. This time we're just letting the conversation take us on a trip as we discuss media that's moved us. Media in all forms has been an integral part of our upbringing, and now you get to listen to us talk about how its shaped and sometimes scarred us. We still think we turned out alright though.

Well, we thought we were done with it, but it looks like we're going back to school. This time a little further away from home. Let's be honest, Delaware sounds like a really nice state; historic, nice topography, lots of ghosts. You know, it comes with the whole "being the first state in the country" thing; you're gonna have some spooky history. And with a university that's been around for almost 300 years (!) that statement still stands. There's been lots of claims of ghosts on this campus, but is it really haunted? Let's find out.

Episode TW: Brief discussion of abuse and SA.
Let's take a long trip from the west coast in Colorado to the east coast in Connecticut (and of course we're driving, cause we're from the mid-west). This location may not ring a bell right away, but although it is in a "smaller" city it's been a bit sensationalized on paper, tv, and even the big screen. In A Dark Place, "A Haunting in Connecticut" and "The Haunting In Connecticut" all cover the story behind the Snedeker House, where supposed evil took place. There's a lot to be said about this one, but you'll just have to listen and decide for yourself if this house was truly possessed.

We made it, everyone. Episode 60! Thank you to all of you that have been following along since the beginning, jumped on sometime in the middle, or are just joining us for the first time. This week we chose a small town, but probably a more well known location, but honestly, how could you pass this one up? A lot of us know the Stanley Hotel, and how it rose to fame, but do you know why it's haunted? Because we sure didn't. You could say this place is the stuff of fiction, but we'll let you decide. So sit back, relax, and let us spin you our own tale of the haunted Stanley. (This would probably be Stephen King approved).

It's the first Thursday of PRIDE Month! Which means we're back with a new ~Visited~ location! This week we traveled to Rockville, Indiana to their infamous state sanitorium. This is a massive campus with plenty of buildings to venture through, and plenty of haunted history to keep you busy. And although she didn't make the trip to the location with us, we're happy to welcome Meghan back to this episode! Hear for yourself our findings from a night time investigation, maybe visit for yourself, and you decide if the hauntings are really true.

This week, we may not have Meghan with us, but we're still two sisters traveling small town America as we are joined by our older sister, Bryanna! A lot of you may have heard of this location already, but although it is well known, we are still in the small town of Ione, CA. The Preston Castle has an unfortunate dark history that is sure to leave lingering spirits, and based on the number of investigations that have occurred here, we think it's safe to say they probably are definitely still lingering. Another week, another haunted location, which happens to be another hotel! If you're following along to the song you learned in elementary school, you'll have deduced we are now in Arkansas. And just like every location before this, we've been pleasantly surprised at the information we've gathered, enough so that we may want to book a stay in the future, who knows ... Take away from this episode; be careful where you book your next stay. Your odds of getting a haunted hotel are looking pretty good.

Some locations you just don't have an explanation for. The experience is so profound and impactful that you'll never forget your trip. We've gone a lot of memorable places, but this one is sure to be remembered for a long time. An almost 100 year old history is going to be packed full of instances that could leave a lasting imprint on a building. Join us in the maze-like halls of Lawrenceville Untied Methodist Village, and listen to what we haven't been able to shake since we left.

We went to Arizona, everyone! Ok, maybe we didn't actually go .. but we'd like to go! So until we can make that trip, we'll take you on a little verbal journey to the town of Jerome, where possibly it's only attraction is also the states spookiest (allegedly; aren't they all?). The Jerome Grand Hotel sure does have a grand history, and lame jokes aside, it's kind of wild. You'll definitely want to hear about this one.

We ventured back out into the world, and by the world we mean Mitchell, Indiana, and it's most notoriously haunted location, Whispers Estate. They say no one has ever left without an EVP, or some kind of evidence. Some people have left with things more physical .. (check out there website for details: https://whispersestate.godaddysites.com/ ). Join us as we investigate for the first time in awhile, and see if we left with some evidence ourselves.

And speaking of things that might not be real, this week we're bringing you a tangent of still some spooky proportions: alien abductions. Another year, another holiday season has come upon us. And we once again learn that Christmas traditions always lie in much darker roots than we are aware of. So curl up next to the open fire, and listen to us tell you the tales of men being fully impaled by lances, 8-years-olds being whisked away into marriages with inanimate objects, girls being saved from prostitution, and boys be resurrected after murder. Historic Madison Indiana really is a site to behold if you've never gotten a chance to see it. 200 hundred year old buildings in pristine condition, a hub for anti-slavery, abolitionism, and the underground railroad, and the site of the first actual railroad in Indiana. This smaller southern Indiana city really has a long rich history, and what's a rich history without some ghosts? Hundreds of years is bound to leave some spirits behind, and we're here to tell you about them.

Over 100 years ago in the town of Villisca, Iowa, one of the most well known, horrendous, yet baffling murders took place. A family of six and two house guests slain with no one to place the blame. Haunted stories always vary a little bit as time goes on, but this chained grave reaches some pretty different conclusions. Were we dealing with a slave owner cursed by a shaman after one of their slaves' deaths? The unwavering love of a military husband? Or, quite the opposite, a man killed in a jealous rage by a curse from his cheated wife? All pretty interesting takes, but the real question is, regardless of the story, was this ghost still lingering? Let's find out.

The covered bridge capitol of the world may have a more haunted past than we realize. We have visited the Bridgeton covered bridge almost every year since we were born to attend the covered bridge festival. Lots of fried food, people selling their goods, artists showcasing their talents, and maybe ghosts lingering too? What EVP's did we capture this time? Are tiny ghosts lurking around every corner? Did we almost get abducted by aliens? Give it a listen and hear for yourself.

Cloverdale Indiana has a lot more to it than rolling rural hills and corn ... there's also a cemetery. Home to 7 witch sisters that haunt the grounds, this cemetery's lore dates back to the late 1800's with some pretty horrific deaths taking place. We know, we know; another run of the mill haunted cemetery? Maybe so, but never have we encountered a cemetery with such a .. rich history. Full of snake handling, orgys, square earth, cult followings, mothers unearthing their deceased children until the grass refuses to grow. Do we have your attention now? An unexpected gem in the middle of a forest, this was a pretty crazy one.

Indiana always seems to be full of little unknown gems and claims to fame; Crawfordsville Indiana is no different. The Rotary Jail now turned museum is a one of a kind experience and look into the country's first, and now only remaining spinning style jail. Prisons and jails seem to be an obvious place for souls to linger, especially ones that had gallows just outside their walls. A normal spirit would be perturbed at having been hanged at all, but how about someone that had to be hanged three times? The rotary jail has provided us with some of our most compelling evidence yet, and even some potential physical evidence. This was definitely an unexpectedly active location, and we're not complaining.

We realized there are 5 Thursdays this month, so we decided to do a little spin off for the occasion; a tangent if you will. Have you ever listened to one of our episodes and thought to yourself "Wow, I really like how they keep veering away from the original topic. These asides and anecdotes are really keeping me on the edge of a completely different seat"? Then you've wandered off to the right place. All of our distracted energy, compiled into one convenient location! The episodes will be themed, but the topics will be ever changing. This 5th Thursday topic is: Click Bait Crimes. So sit back, and try to keep up. We're probably as lost as you.

Avon Indiana is apparently home to one of the most exciting things you could possibly do in the state ... drive under a bridge. It is a historical landmark for the city, but a large part of its history is rooted in something a little more haunted. Railway workers, mothers and babies, unsuspecting kids out for a swim, this bridge almost has it all, that is, if they're actually out there.

It's been a while since we've been back to Illinois, but we made the trek, and we think it was worth it. Armed with our new equipment we set out to investigate the legend of the hatchet man and his brutal killings. What makes this place scarier than others is the fact that hatchet man is based off of a real life murderer who may still be alive today. Listen to see if we were brave enough to stick around and invoke the spirits left behind by the hatchet man.

We're taking it back home this week to Terre Haute, Indiana. As we've mentioned before, just a stones throw away from where we grew up is already a slew of haunted locations. This is actually a location we visited over a decade ago, so we made our way back to see if the haunted stories still stand. We were very excited to finally use our new equipment for this one! You'll just have to listen and find out if it worked in our favor.

So listen to us drunkenly retell some of your stories, realize you aren't crazy for the inexplicable things that have happened to you, consider sending in some more of your own, and listen as we laugh, cry, and sometimes sing our way through you ghostly encounters.

Good food, good music, good atmosphere, and good ghosts? This building saw a lot of purposes and a lot of iterations, standing through WWI, prohibition, slavery, and more. And with a history like that, you know a place is bound to be haunted. Did we meet the ghost of a woman from the brothel, an inexplicable spirit named George, the Dillinger and Brady Gangs, or all of the above? Let's find out, shall we?

New adventures, new locations, and (finally) new equipment! Allison Mansion is one of Indiana's most notable haunted locations, despite the institutions efforts to avoid that kind of publicity. This month, our guest is one of the newest additions to the spooky crew, and just so happens to be Kelsey's girlfriend, Madi. So grab some wine, and listen to us get a little too passionate about one of America's most infamous haunted locations. disclaimer provided at the beginning of the episode

Nothing says spooky like a margarita and a wet burrito, right? This brewery turned Mexican restaurant was once home to one of Mishawaka's most prominent families. Nothing says spooky quite like a nearly two hundred year old cemetery in the dead of winter in the middle of the night, and maybe this one delivered? This time we're in Dugger, IN at the Antioch Cemetery and Church. Haunted cemetery's may feel like a dime a dozen, but with countless souls put to rest in them, there's a good chance at least some of them may have left us before they were ready, and that's a lot of unfinished business to attend to.

One of America's most well known haunted locations, featured on almost a dozen different television shows, and the current home of a honky tonk music legend Bobby Macky, the site of Bobby Macky's Music World in Wilder, Kentucky has gone through many changes, and with each new business endeavor a new slew of spirits haunts the grounds. Although the owner himself is a skeptic, many visitors are convinced this is one of the most haunted places in America, so we had to know for ourselves. So come with us as we investigate behind the walls and into the music halls of Bobby Macky's.

This 115 year old hotel has a rich history of notable visitors including multiple US presidents such as Harry Truman, John F Kennedy, and Bill Clinton, gangsters such as Al Capone, and, possibly most notably, the author F Scott Fitzgerald, who has immortalized the hotel in one of his most famous works, The Great Gatsby. This hotel has also seen it's fair share of tragedy, most famously, the story of the blue lady. This unsettled spirit is rumored to still linger there today, and if you're un/lucky enough, you may still catch her stepping through the doors of the elevator shaft, only to fall to her death once more ...

This one of a kind jail has been around for over 100 years, and has seen its fair share of guests, willing or otherwise. After the slow meticulous climb up 100 steps, you will come face to face with one of Indiana's most haunted cemeteries. 100 Steps is over 100 years old, and is still active today. It may not be very big, but what it lacks in size, it makes up for in scares. With all the vandalism this cemetery has seen, it's no wonder these spirits are restless. But the real question is, how forgiving are they of unsuspecting trespassers?
