Join this group of young people from Michigan as they navigate their faith lives and try to understand how God is calling each of us closer to Him. Listen to them share personal experiences, inspired thoughts, and lessons they have learned.
Welcome.
We will be praying for you.
In Lent we focus on prayer, fasting and almsgiving... in this podcase we wanted to have a conversation on prayer. Sometimes we think prayer is harder than it really is. But it really can be very simple. It is as simple as talking to God or being intentionally present during Mass.
Eli, Wendy, and Camryn talk about how to begin to pray. As well as how to keep going when you feel like prayer didn't work. A couple personal stories are also shared to show how prayer blessed their lives. Prayer is essential. It is our spiritual food.
How do you pray?

Does God want me to do the dishes? Does God want me to be happy? Where does God want me?
Isaac begins by telling the fairytale of the Magic Thread and relating it to our lives and the Feast of the Holy Family-- the Sunday following Christmas.
Isaac ponders what the ordinary lives of the Holy Family might have been like, including their chores and daily interactions. How they had the gift of living in the present moment and how joy is found in the simple tasks of our lives. Isaac then talks about how we can imitate their lives and find that same joy. It all points to living in the present moment. God wants to be with us in the simple tasks of our lives.

November is when we celebrate All Saints, All Souls and the Day of the Dead. Most importantly, it is when we remember our dead. Those who have gone before us whom we loved, whom inspired us, and those who still need our prayers.
Ava is joined by Erin (the behind-the-scenes Youth Ministry Leader) to talk to her about one particular soul she remembers named Ryan Fischer and how his passing is what began her All Souls day celebrations.

Happy All Hallows Eve! Friends Isaac and Ava talk about what homeschoolers do on Halloween (the eve of All Saints day) and share about the lives of three remarkable people. Today, October 19th is the feast day of St. Isaac Jogues. Listen as Isaac tells the story of St. Isaac, someone we can pray to for courage. Isaac Jogues lived among the Native Americans for years in peace with some tribes and later tortured and held in captivity by others. He never lost his desire to minister to them. He was martyred in 1646.

This episode is the second part to episode 9. Isaac talks about how yes, God wants you to be a saint. And how through ordinary faithfulness, God makes us extraordinary. He gives examples of HOW to make prayer a part of your every day. This is a very practical and encouraging episode for all those not knowing quite where to start or how to re-engage prayer.
