Abundant Life. Jesus heals a man born blind from birth. Though the man is overjoyed the Pharisees reject both the man and his healer, Jesus. Jesus takes the opportunity to teach about the reality that he is the Good Shepherd and we are the sheep. The thief comes to steal the sheep from the Shepherd, to kill and destroy the sheep. But Jesus came that we may have the ability to have life, a full life, a life that is more than sufficient, over and above and abundant.

In Daniel chapter 1, we see that we can be in the world, but not of it. In amongst an ungodly culture, we can be obedient to God without breaking society’s rules. God rewards such obedience with increased favour, to make us excel within society and draw people towards God.
