Notes:
Sometimes storms arise suddenly and can through you off course and make it difficult to secure what you may consider your personal life boat.
Paul and his comrades were caught for 14 days in the storm, in absolute darkness for 11 of those days.
During this time, they lost hope of deliverance until God sent hope in a dream.
Just like with the Apostle Paul, we are reassured that we are going to be okay.
Abide in the ship to remain saved rather placing you confidence in the wrong thing. Right now we must let go of everything other than our hope in God.
The importance of staying in (at home) during this time is that it provides safety a safety net as remaining in the ship was a safety net for Paul.
Our trust remains in God. Do not fear, be of good cheer, because we believe God.
We trust God and we also use wisdom.
There is safety in the house.
There Ark was not made for Navigation, it was created for survival through the flood.

Some things in life are mentioned in scripture as being better or chosen to have.

Paul addresses the pastors in Ephesus before he leaves. He exhorts them according to ministry to what they should do while he is away
Take care of themselves
Be watchful over their sheep
Be watchful for wolves
Paul commends then to God Acts 20:32-38 *v 35
4 questions:
- What does God want us to work hard for?
We are to work hard in the interest to help
others. Beware of covetousness. Intent
of Paul’s working was to support the weak
and lend a helping hand. Was an
example of selfless giving. The end of our
earning is to help others, not ourselves.
- Did Jesus say what Paul said Jesus said?
It is asked because the saying if it’s more
blessed to give than received because it’s
not directly in the a documented
conversation. John stated that not
everything that Jesus did was not written
down because there would be too many
books to contain it all. Many phrases are
passed down through oral tradition.
“Remember “ is a recall of something that
occurred. You cannot remember
something that didn’t occur. If one will
not accept these two points, the essence
of the command is sound in scripture that
Jesus said.

Is God opposed to us receiving? It’s actually a blessing to both give and receive. It is more blessed to give than to receive. It is both blessed to give and receive. Matthew 7:7. You cannot give away what you have not been willing to receive. You have to receive in order to give. Matthew 10:8. God calls us to a higher principle of giving more than we receive.

What makes giving better or more blessed than merely giving? Proverbs 18:17; Proverbs 22:9; Proverbs 28:27
Jesus taught in the habit of giving not only in tithes and offering. He taught of the life philosophy of giving. The Bible gives many scriptures regarding our obligation to give. God doesn’t want us to give to get back, but to give because we should.

Key Steps for a fresh start
Genesis 6:17-21; 8:1-3
Despite the reason for the flood, God granted Noah grace.
After the flood, Noah’s family began a new beginning.
5 key steps to a new beginning.
Step 1 is to clear out the clutter.
Second step:
Cling to what produces life and sustains life.
- Family -wife, sons, daughters-in-law
- Two of every kind of fleshly creatures
- Certain kind of food
Family is important because of its strong connection of kin.
A male and female of each life form needed to continue God’s production of life.
Food is necessary for life, specifically for healthy living. However, there is a more substantive good. God’s word (food) is extremely important for us to live. More importantly, in Gen 6:18, God offered to be Noah’s sustaining force.
For a year, all Noah has entering the Ark is the promise of God’s establishment of a covenant with Noah.
God does not give the particulars about the covenant to Noah until he reaches dry land.
Noah set off on their journey on an “I will” from God.
Whatever God does, whenever He does it, is going to be good.
In Gen 8:1, we are reminded that God kept his covenant with Noah. He simply said, “I remember “.
We are encouraged by knowing that God remembers us.
The Important thing is not that we know what God is going to do, but having faith and knowing that God remembers His covenant with us.
When you feel that God had forgotten us, take comfort in remembering that God remembers his covenant.
Through God’s divine grace, God does not remember our sins.
The most important thing is to be in covenant with God.

Psalms 37:23-24 KJV God is in Control in the midst of the mess you are going Through he will give you perfect peace. When we dwell on God we Magnify him. God is bigger than your problems. Life long trust in God. Not just for now but forevermore. Because the eternal being of God. He is the Eternal Rock! We can go to the Rock that’s higher than our situations. The way we live is by trusting God. Don’t get cocky to forget to trust God.

Principles for Living for A New Beginning - Part 1
Genesis 8: 1-5; 13-17
The flood account, Genesis 6-8
Ark was half as long as a football field and 45 feet high. Designed for survival, not navigation because God was in charge of navigation.
Noah’s obedience - allowed a fresh start. First day of the first month. Signified humanity’s new beginning after disembarking from the ark.
Principles for living for new beginning:
- Clear out your environment
Genesis 6:17
Clear the clutter -anything in an untidy
state or out of place. Not useful or necessary. Clutter can be physical stuff, emotional baggage , messy people, toxic relationships, anything holding you back from your future.
Spiritually we must:

Clear our hearts
-
Crucify our flesh
Heart and flesh work in tandem with each other. When the heart is messed up, the flesh will act up.
Matthew 7:15; 21-23
Examine your heart.
Romans 8:6
Don’t court the flesh; crucify the flesh.
Psalm 26:2
Ask God to examine us, not just examine ourselves.

Topic: The N word in the Bible
Scripture:
Numbers 6:1-8
The N word familiar to most of us is considered vulgar and a put down to others.
Using the N word is devaluing and disrespecting God as he created us all.
There is a positive N word in the Bible. Nazarite.
Nazarite and Nazarene are not the same. Hebrew meaning if of Nazarite is “dedication by separation “. Nazarite mase a vow for worldly separation. The Nazarite consecration was not routine, it contained 5 elements.
- Inclusive - everyone could be a Nazarite regardless of sex or economic status
- Personal - individuals made the choice to separate themselves. They could choose to be a Nazarite. The highest expression of one’s personal devotion.
- Voluntary - was not forced. Was done if someone wanted to make the ultimate dedication. Much as salvation is a personal choice that is not forced upon us.
- Special - was marked by a specific time of devotion to God. There are times that we take a time to consecrate ourselves to God.
- Positive- was a positive separation to God and not a negative separation of isolation society. The separation is dealing with the consecration. Our holiness is exemplified during every day living among others. We are separated from sin, not society.
The Nazarite agreed to some limiting prohibition.
3 Things were required during their period of separation.
1.Appetite - no grapes or derivatives
2.Appearance -no cutting of hair
3.Association - no contact going near corpses
The 1st and 3rd were of the priest of the services. Refer to Leviticus 21.
The 2nd was a visible sign to the public of the consecration.
What are the implications for today and what is the takeaway?
Consecration conditions is to be able to be where God wants us to be.
- God wants us to be fueled by His Spirit. Don’t allow yourself to surrender other than the spirit of God
- God wants us to be fortified with strength. Don’t allow things that will snap and zap your strength.
- God wants us to be fit for service. Be careful who you come in contact with. Don’t hang out in contaminated environments where you cannot grow. Be careful choosing your crew.

A grateful heart will always result in thanksgiving.
Thanksgiving does not require having everything you want, but it requires gratefulness.

Sometimes you have to contend with survival on your way to success.
Study in this passage means apply yourself, presentation of self
We handle the Word corruptly or correctly-choose to handle it correctly
Not necessarily the product, but how you go about it.
Precision and accuracy in interpreting God’s word. Anything less is shameful.
Don’t engage in empty godless talking
Don’t engage in lust and giving in to flesh
Luke 2
Jesus is 12 and missing and found 4 days later in the temple
Jesus left with his parents and obeyed them. As a result Jesus grew in various ways.
Stand out and show what you got
Excellence is to greatly exceed average
Excellence is a commitment to do your best
Excellence won’t let you settle for mediocrity
Give it your best to outdo the rest
Excellence is not achieved by comparing yourself with others.
As I strive for excellence, don’t compare myself to nobody else.

Timing/due/stuff you gotta go through
There is reward or due coming in your life.
Last 40 he is with the children of Israel doing the will of God
In life we go through phases looking for what is new.
Most people operate with a thought I’d “what’s in it for me?”
There is always a due season, but you have to go through phases, but the sue will always show up.
If you sow in flesh, you will reap what comes from the flesh.
When you sow in the spirit, you will reap things of a spiritual nature.
What we do will come back to us. Obey God and reap the right benefits.
Weariness comes from fatigue, but don’t give up.
Sometimes in life, you have to work within your season no matter how rough the season is, but God’s faithfulness brings us through.
What you are going through doesn’t change who God is.
No matter your season (good or bad), keep doing good and what is right.
Through prayer, God gives you what you need to endure and to give you faith so that you can get through your situation.

Teamwork- Ministry is teamwork. We are better together. A church the works together wins together. We are labors together with God. We are in Partnership with God but he doesn't work for us. We work for him. We are not self employed in the Gospel. We are not working for ourselves.
Trinity main Paradigm for teamwork:

The father planned redemption.

Son work worked the plan of salvation.

Holy Spirit applies salvation by dealing with us.
Noah had three sons.
Joshua had those in Jericho.
The Disciples- Jesus has a team.
We are in this thing together.
