Wycliffe Bible Translators candidate, Matthew Edelen shares "God's Heart for the Nations". Matt gives a compelling reason to join what God is doing in reaching the world for His glory.
This week we consider the "Walk of Faith" as we consider the life of Enoch. We see the journey of faith in this OT man's life.
Elder Jack Supp uses his physics background to show how faith in an all powerful Creator God is the most plausible explanation for the universe.
Kicking off Hebrews 11 we consider the context of the Jewish believers in Jesus and the admonishment to keep on keeping on "by Faith". "What is Faith?"
Today, Grace Church Waldorf commissions Elders as the primary leadership group over the church.
Pastor Dennis shares from his heart the heart of Christ... "I know your works, that you are neither cold nor hot. I wish that you were cold or hot. So, because you are lukewarm, and neither hot nor cold, I am going to vomit you out of My mouth." (Rev. 3:15-16)
Looking at the name the prophet Isaiah gave to the incarnate Jesus... "Everlasting Father". Today we see how Jesus reveals the nature of the Father through his life and ministry of compassion. As Jesus' followers we are called to be those known for our compassion for those in need.
Moving into the Christmas Season, we now consider Facets of Jesus that are tied to Isaiah the prophets words... 6 For to us a child is born, to us a son is given; and the government shall be upon his shoulder, and his name shall be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace. (Isaiah 9:6). Today we look at Jesus as the Mighty God and the implications of His humiliation (incarnation) upon those of us who declare to follow Him. Warning: Very Challenging!!
Elder candidate Jack Supp continues the consideration of Elders and Shepherding. The bylaws changes are considered.
Looking at the cross we peer into the glorious unapproachable glory of the Trinity in eternity past and consider the Love of God. The great love of the Son for the Father that caused Him to take upon the role of Savior and the great love of the Father to offer up His Son as a sacrifice for our sin. If this truth from God's Word does not move you to fully surrender your life to perfect love... nothing will.
Continuing to look at the brilliance of Jesus today we consider Jesus as the Christ of God. May this most used title for the person of Jesus help you to see His beauty and fall deeply in love with Him.
Facets of Jesus, week 2, we continue our thoughts concerning Jesus as Logos. The Greek Philosophical term is so rich that it requires a second look. Jesus' brilliance sheds light on all things, making all things knowable. Apart from Him, all things would be unintelligible especially God the Father. Behold Jesus! Behold God in the flesh! Behold Grace.
Facets of Jesus. This series has a simple aim... "to hold up the biblical Jesus and marvel at his brilliance." Like a multifaceted diamond, no matter how you look at Jesus, His love and grace shine forth. May we find our hearts strangely drawn to Him... The LOGOS.

This is the audio recording of session 3 of Grace Church's event for women: SHE IS! Grab your Bible and enjoy the teaching by Courtney Cherest, our women's ministry director.
We finish up our REAL Community series by walking our way through the experiences of the first church in Acts 2. The early church was special because is many ways they did not have many of the things that we believe are necessary for effective ministry... no buildings or budgets or paid professionals... all they had was Jesus. When Jesus is all you have you discover he is all you need!
Today we consider how the Acts 2 church was Authentic with one another. The church was designed by God not to makes us happy but to make us holy! This can only happen as we engage in authentic life on life community. Pointing ourselves and others to the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
Today we consider the Excitement of the Acts 2 church. It would be easy to think that it was because the Apostles were performing signs and miracles but it wasn't:-0 Rather it was the life change that was happening in people as they were devoted to the Apostles Teaching! The Gospel is not just how we get IN to the Christian life, it is how we go ON in the Christian life too.
The original church, the Acts 2 community began with a call to repentance and faith in Jesus evidenced through baptism. We consider the beauty of the gospel together today.
We begin our REAL Community series by considering the God given need for community. God gave us family and an extended faith family to grow in relationship with Him. Acts 2 shows us this beautiful truth.
In looking at Matthew 5:13-16, Jesus words of being "Salt and Light" the question arises... what does He mean? Was Jesus giving the church a "Cultural Mandate"? Is Jesus encouraging us to influence the "Common Good"? Well, meaning is found in context. Looking at the context of Matthew we see that Jesus was actually encouraging His followers to make disciples! Being "Salt and Light" is far more personal, relational, and intentional than we might think!
We consider the eternal positional truth of being overcomers by faith in Jesus. Jesus is the ultimate victor and overcomer and by faith in Him we are too! But today we seek to make this positional truth practical to our daily experience. Grab your Bible and join us in Psalm 46!
Continuing to consider the names and titles that believers are called - today we consider the beautiful truth that - God has made us Masterpieces! Or rather as we discuss - "The Master's Piece!"
If you know who you are then you know what you are to be doing. Identity gives us purpose! Today, we look at the designation of being an Ambassador for Jesus Christ... wonderful privileges and great responsibilities go with being Jesus' official envoys in this foreign land.
We begin our summer series called, "Who Do You Think You Are?" The answer to that question reveals the blessings in your life and the responsibilities that go with it. Today, we consider... "I Am A Disciple!" Looking into this word we discover that discipleship with Jesus is more like an apprenticeship.
Finishing the book of Titus - the Apostle Paul closes with a strong reminder for God's people "to devote themselves to good works..." Titus 3:8,14 Today we consider the role "Good Works" play in our relationship with God... the role "Good Works" play in our salvation.
Paul instructs, God's people, how they are to live in an ungodly world for Christ. Today, we consider what it means for us living today in the USA. What does it mean to be a godly citizen for Christ today?
Finishing the "Ethical Exhortations" in Titus 2, we end with the Master/Slave - Employer/Employee instructions as how to "adorn" the Gospel. A very necessary and practical teaching on the theology of "WORK". This could change the way you view your "job"!
In Titus 2 we continue with the ethical portion of how God's people are to live to honor God, His word, and "adorn" the Gospel of Grace. Today the topic is "Younger Men"... are to be "self-controlled" in a culture that is out of control.
The Apostle Paul, next, tells Titus to have the Older Women help the Young Women manage their primary relationships - Husband and Children - in a way that honors God and His word. Challenging teaching in our day and age... but the key to a happy and healthy home.
Titus continues with the instruction on how God's people are to live godly lives that "Adorn" the Gospel of God. Today, we consider the instruction to "Older Women" - They are to live out their identity in Jesus by being mature mentor's in the lives of younger women.
Looking at the very practical section of Titus on godly living... today we begin by considering "older men". The ethical admonitions are not to perfection but perseverance. That adorns the beauty of God's truth and makes the gospel attractive.
Our annual look back at what God has been doing in our midst and a look toward the future at what we believe He wants to do here at Grace Church. Praise the LORD!
Looking at the importance of living out a life of sound doctrine through good works... Matt Duranske gives an overview of Paul's words to Titus 1:10-2:15. The gospel of God's grace changes our lives in such powerfully good ways that our very lives "adorn" the gospel and make it attractive to those who are in need of a relationship with Jesus Christ.
In Part 3 of "Appointing Godly Leaders" we look at the remaining qualification for the Elder candidate called to lead God's people in the local church... devotion to God's Word! Godly character and a firm grip on God's word are what Paul tells Titus the men should have that he places in leadership over God's people.
We finish our Easter series by looking at being "Salt and Light" in the lives of people who need a relationship with Jesus. Eat, Pray, Love: and as the relationship is built we invite and connect people to Grace Church to "Belong" so that they can journey to "Believe" and receive Jesus in New Birth.
Looking at the historical evidence behind our Christian faith. The reality is, it actually takes more faith NOT to "believe" in the person, death, and resurrection of Jesus of Nazareth than it does to "believe" it.
Easter 2017 - Using "The Case for Christ" as our Easter series backdrop today we hear from Lee Strobel as he shares his impressions of the movie based upon his salvation story. Drawing a few thoughts we apply the grace of God to ourselves.
Using the "Case for Christ" movie as a backdrop for our Easter message series, we begin by "Investigating" some challenges people face in their journey to fully embracing Jesus by faith.
The Apostle Paul instructs Titus to "observe" the relationships of potential elders. It is through a man's relationship with his wife, children, others and the Word of God that you will see whether or not he can lead the church. Good litmus test for church leaders!
As Titus rolls out the Apostle Paul's strategic plan, for the believers on Crete to live lives that honor God, he begins by appointing godly leadership in the churches... Titus 1:5-9. Today, we look simply at the word "Elders" to see what church leadership is to be like. This one little word reveals a wealth of important information!
We begin "exposing" the text this week and see the challenge Paul gives to Titus to be faithful to his Mission no matter how Impossible it may seem. Duty, Honor, and the Gospel message is the Christian Rallying call to faithfulness in this life to Jesus Christ our LORD. May we be found faithful!
Today, we begin a new expository study in the book of Titus. This message is an "Overview" to help us orient ourselves to read through the book and study it well together. The goal is that we would be more godly in Christ Jesus as a result! Join us on this journey - live Sunday mornings @ 9 and 11 - Grace Church, 13000 Zekiah Dr. Waldorf, MD 20601
Concluding our message series - Gospel Shaped Living - "How to be the Church in the World". Looking at Galatians 5:16-6:3 we consider why there is such a gap between God's desires for us and the reality in our lives. Flesh vs. Spirit!
Suffering is inevitable. Various worldviews have different ways to explain and cope with suffering. We will look at the CROSS of Jesus Christ and see not only how to suffer well but also how the CROSS crushes and destroys all the other worldviews. Especially, our secular worldview of hopelessness.
Gospel Shaped Living - is about being saved by God's gospel of grace and then being shaped by it so we can effectively share it with others as God's unique community (humanity) in earth. Today, contrast the greatness and mission of the world with the Kingdom of God. Wow. What a contrast!
Truth is not a battle we win merely by making a better argument. It is a battle we win by living a better life - a life of love! Biblical community is the final apologetic for a lost and skeptical world. Let KNOW the truth, so, we can LIVE the truth, so we can share THE TRUTH in love.
The first church shows us how to be an unavoidably generous people. (Luke 26:41-47) As God's eternally elected and personally selected new humanity, we show the world what it looks like to know God. What the best version of humanity looks like through love and obedience to Jesus. It is about living a life of irrational generosity!
Gospel Shaped Living: A United Church in a Divided World. Grace Church can lead the way and show the power of the Gospel of Jesus Christ as we become a multicultural worshiping community "in Christ".
But you are a chosen race, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people for his own possession, that you may proclaim the excellencies of him who called you out of darkness into his marvelous light! 1 Peter 2:9 God has eternally elected and personally selected a unique people for the purpose proclaiming God's grace to a lost and dying world that is in darkness.
Pastor Bill and Elisha share their experience and teachings form the CROSS Conference 2016. Hell is real; Time is short; Jesus said, "Go!"
A strange topic for Christmas - offering to Christ the sacrifice of our pain and brokenness. The incarnation was not just for our eternal salvation but is meant to play a role in our everyday lives.
We look at the way the Wise Men gave to Jesus the Christ of God. They gave joyfully and generously of the best of their gifts to Jesus. They show us how we too can worship Jesus today!
"We saw his star when it rose and have come to worship him." (Mat 2:2) 2000 years ago the Magi came 900 miles across some the most inhospitable conditions just to "worship" the Christ.
