Purpose of the GK Icon Academies USA Panel Discussions is to discuss and dive deep into specific, in-game situations goalkeepers encounter during a game. In addition, we will host specialized discussions on how to recover mentally from mistakes, the college recruiting process as well as the importance of goalkeeper specific fitness, speed and strength.
Audience: All ages and players are welcomed (not just for GKs); coaches and parents included.
Episode 5 - Dead Ball Scenarios

how to communicate effective and efficient commands

Panel Discusion Points are:
- Goalkeeper's role while their team is "in" and "out" of possession of the ball
- Goalkeeper's role when their team just "lost" or "gained" possession of the ball
Mental Aspect of Goalkeeping
Details of the panel discussion are:
- Mistakes & how to recover
- Advice for coaches/parents: how to deal with a struggling goalkeeper
- Being the #2 and always "being ready" - Being promoted to #1 and the pressure that comes with it
- Being demoted to #2 and the mental struggles that comes with it
Episode 1 - Introduction: explain the purpose of the coaches panel, introduce the panel of coaches, and discuss the agenda.
