The guest mix comes from Neo Mashike, who has been making waves since he last guested on the Asylum Hour show. He is the president of the Umbrella Sessions, a movement that seeks so unify and showcase all the local underground stables in Pretoria. Session is a lekker deep house session which should be good for those drives at night to and from events.

Mmeli, also known as Mmely Antidote to music patrons, is one of the founding members of soulful house group, The Antidotes. He has been a long-time admirer and collector of not only house but various genres of music. His love for music ranges from soul to jazz and soulful house to deep house. Born and raised in Swaziland, ‘Mmely’ started deejaying in 2010 and although he’s still relatively new to the industry, he’s played at many well-reputable clubs alongside heavyweights in the industry. Now residing in Jo’burg, he plays at venues around Braamfontein,Melville, Maboneng Precinct and occasionally plays in Pretoria (Sunnyside, Hatfield).

Kutlwano "Goodmansoul" Legodi is a deep and soulful house music lover born and bred in the township of Soshanguve, Pretoria. Hes love for deep soulful house began in primary school where his cousin always played house compliations and mixes at family gatherings. His DJ career began in grade 11 in high school where he was a regular at the popular pubs around the township. After taking a long break in varsity he is back looking forward to spinning beautiful tracks from a variety of genres. His major influences come from pioneer DJs like Iggy Smallz, Ash K Malama, Mbuso, Monde, Fresh, Fistaz Mixwell, Vinny and Christos. A large amount of his inspiration is also drawn from producers like Kerri Chandler, Franck Roger and François K amongst many others. He aims to always make mixes where the energy of the set gradually increases just like how it is out in a nightclub. His love for old school house music will always be heard and he is not afraid to experiment. In the words of Vinny Da Vinci "Da deep is gonna getcha!"

Garry Montana is a music lover, who has an excellent ear when it comes to deep house and old school house jams. He was mentored Jabjuice and Msasa from EonFunk.
South Africa is one of the countries that know the true essence of house music, it joins people of all races and cultures together "house is black and white" and it's the reason why I love house music till this day.

I'd like to start off by thanking Scelo and Main K for blessing us with their offerings on the last release. Good to see that the family keeps getting new members all the time :-D
This session we welcome three brothers , Tony VA , JustDaz and MC Sfoj.
The main mix is a session I did with JustDaz, a cool young man hailing from Mpumalanga. We rocked tunes by Ferdi Blankena , Detroit Swindle, Pete Da Feet , Fritz Wentink, Brame & Hamo, HNNY and a few others. We both love football so we decided to record a 90 minute mix
Thokozani (JustDaz) Nkabinde from Phola Location, Emalahleni is an all round music lover. He started following house music in 2006 and got inspired by the likes of G.Family, Jimpster, Lars Behrenroth, Black Coffee and DJ Kent and playfully tried to mimic what they do and in 2009 was persuaded into becoming a DJ. He left the house scene in 2011 to focus on his academics and had a handful of mixes at that time. He has since graduated and has been pushing a series of mixtapes titled "The Resurrection"

Funny story about this mix ne, he delivered it to my house at 7PM on Wednesday evening, with a play list that he had handwritten on a small page while he was driving hahaha. What a passionate man. 2014 is coming to an end , I hope that we all had a good year, filled with beautiful memories and teachings to be carried through the rest of our lives.
Since we at the end of the year, we have to bring it to an end in the traditional Asylum way with the 2014 Curtain Close edition of the five year old series.

Mmeli, also known as Mmely Antidote to music patrons, is one of the founding members of soulful house group, The Antidotes. He has been a long-time admirer and collector of not only house but various genres of music. His love for music ranges from soul to jazz and soulful house to deep house. Born and raised in Swaziland, ‘Mmely’ started deejaying in 2010 and although he’s still relatively new to the industry, he’s played at many well-reputable clubs alongside heavyweights in the industry. My love for house music started at the age of 9 if I'm not mistaken, inspired by alot of deejays back then.
As i grew, i learned that we have sub-genres in house music I decided to take the Deep / Tech route. Shows like DSOH, Asylum Hour, DeepVibes, Ashmed Hour

of a very good friend of mine. He was the most musical person I've
ever met, a singer , poet , producer, songwriter , dj , keyboard
player , a major mixed bag of limitless talent.

We got The DeepSoulja Familia boys on Guest Duty this time. Y'all might remember them from Asylum Hour 7 , they were the first guest mixers on the show back in 2010. It's that time again, bringing you the latest instalment in the Asylum Hour series.
To be honest, I've had the latest mix ready for about 3 weeks or so. Its kinda personal, low flow bpm which captured how I was feeling at the time. Okay enough with the sob stories yeah.
This mixes features tracks by Sarp Yilmaz, Andras , Jakob Korn, Southeastern, Autumn Park & Rene Breitbarth just to name a few. Scott Ferguson gets the show going with a FerrisPark Records cut I've been feeling for a few years now.

Here is another installment of the Asylum Hour
This time I took a different route, as I hooked up the annual Inner
Thoughts & Feelings mix. This mix is on a more personal level, as I
included some of the songs that have been very dear to me over the
years, and combined them with some of the stuff I've heard in the past
12 months.
This mix , just like last year's ITF, and the year before that, was
inspired by person who has played a very major role in my life over
the past 2 & a half years. She has supported me every single day.
She's been patient with me and she's never let me down, she's even
saved my life couple of times Lol.. and she still thinks that my jokes are funny, which I find strange :)
This mix is dedicated to her and its just a small token of
appreciation for her presence in my life.
