Ps Mel continues Vision Builders by talking about our call on earth. Through sharing about how God is moving significantly across the planet, she encourages us that there can be a revival happening here in Canberra. Ps Mel also talks about what she sees happening for the community through us. That we are moving into new ways to minister to our community through what God has put in our hands. Everyone has something that they can give, and that God can use.
We can take the City of God with us as we get involved in Canberra. He has called you to Canberra for a reason and He wants you to get involved in this city. God is a city builder - He cares about cities and wants to see them grow. He knows how to transform them and wants to see them flourish.
Ps Mel begins our Vision Builders month by talking about legacy. All of us are leaving a something for the future generations. She asks the question what legacy are you leaving, and what are you building? We may not be able to see it, but God can. We want to make sure we are finishing well and able to leave a legacy that will bless the future generations.
Ps Paul wraps up our faith series by looking at the connection between faith and abiding in Jesus. He also explores how we can be yoked with Jesus which allows us to learn from Him and let Him help us. Similarly, we can be apprentices of God and to allow Him to teach us. When we abide with God, we can begin taking on His characteristics and become more like Him.
John continues our Faith series by looking at three stages of faith that can be relevant to everyone. These are saving faith, prevailing faith, and Kingdom faith. You can progress through each of these stages, but they all work in unison. We pray that you are blessed and encouraged by this week’s message.
Nathan continued our Done series with a message on faith, choosing to trust in God even when life feels uncertain. He shared five ways to stay anchored in faith: friends, affirmation, immersion, thankfulness and honesty. Faith grows not by sight, but by walking with God through every season.
Ps Mel shares that faith waits patiently, trusts confidently, and rests. We need to understand that it is not enough to just believe in God, but we need to believe Him. It is during times of waiting that we continually need to choose to trust God that He will fulfill His promises. By looking at the story of Abraham, we can be encouraged that God is good to His promises. when we choose to keep going in faith.
This week, Ps Paul kicked off our new series on faith, reminding us that faith is more than belief. It's a life of trust, response, and relationship with God. We were encouraged to grow strong in truth and walk daily in faith that overcomes.
On Easter Sunday, Ps Mel shared a moving message about the resurrection of Jesus and the freedom it offers. She spoke on forgiveness, both for others and ourselves, and the power of surrender, reminding us that because Jesus rose from the grave, we can live free, forgiven, and fully committed into God's hands.
This Good Friday, Ps Mel shared a powerful message reflecting on the sacrifice of Jesus. She reminded us that He carried our sin, shame, and sorrow. Through His death, the way to relationship with God was opened. The cross changed everything.
This week we were blessed to hear from guest preacher Ps James Edwards, who shared a powerful message about living our life in Jesus. He spoke about remaining in Him, receiving His grace, and being shaped by His righteousness.
This week we wrapped up our series on the book of James by exploring chapter 5. Throughout this chapter, the author James covers a variety of things that we need to ensure that God is at the center of. Jess encourages us to make God a part of it all, and reminds us that He cares about all of the big and little things.
This week, John preached from James Chapter 4, focusing on the call to draw near to God and His promise to draw near to us. He spoke about the importance of humility, reminding us that God lifts up the humble and that a surrendered heart creates space for His presence.
This week, we continued our series on James, diving into Chapter 3 with a message from Nathan Oliver. He spoke about the power of our words, reminding us that what we say flows from the heart. Nathan encouraged us to speak life over ourselves and others, using our words to build up and reflect the heart of God.
This week we were blessed to hear from guest preacher Ps Greg French, who shared a powerful message on how God uses our weakness and brokenness for His glory. We are not disqualified by our struggles, instead, God shapes us through them to fulfil His purpose and reveal His grace.
We are continuing to study the book of James. Ps Paul explores chapter 2 and asks the great question of if our faith is visible. Genuine faith emerges from our hearts many times through every day. It honours and trusts God as we continually walk by faith.
We're diving into a new Going Deeper series this week, starting with James 1. This week, Ps Mel explored the themes of trials and temptations, highlighting the importance of asking God for wisdom in faith and without doubting. She encouraged us to trust in God's guidance, knowing that He generously gives wisdom to those who seek Him wholeheartedly.
This Sunday, we wrapped up our Body Works series with a powerful message from Tim on the final part of our church vision: "Serve His Purpose." He shared how we are called to serve each other humbly in love, following the example of Jesus. Serving isn’t just something we do—it’s part of who we are as followers of Christ.
Ps Mel continues our Body Works series sharing on our value of ‘Connect’ which is all about connecting people to Jesus. She shares about what has been spoken over this church and what God has planned. In the Old Testament people would set up altars to remember the things that God has done, and there are altars being established in this place.
This Sunday, we launched our new series, Body Works, exploring how we function and grow as the body of Christ. Ps Paul kicked off the series by sharing about the importance of being in a group. He reminded us that small groups aren’t just about what we can get out of them, but what we can bring - encouragement, support, and a space to grow in faith together.
We are overcomers. Ps Mel wraps up our Going Deeper series by reminding us that, because of God, we are overcomers. We become and grow as overcomers as we overcome. It is our trust in God that gives us the victory.
This Sunday was Dream Sunday, which was a special opportunity to pray over your God-given dreams. Megan shared a powerful message from John 15:5-8, reminding us that abiding in Christ is the key to seeing our dreams bear fruit. Be inspired and encouraged to dream boldly and remain rooted in Him as you step into all that God has for you.
This week, Nathan Oliver continued our study of 1 John, focusing on Chapter 4. He explored the profound message of God's love, emphasizing how perfect love drives out fear and how we are called to love one another as God loves us.
This week, Ps Mel Marshall continues our study of 1 John by exploring Chapter 3. She unpacks the incredible depth of God's love for us, what it means to be His children, and how this love transforms the way we live.
We are starting off the new year by studying the book 1 John together. Ps Paul begins this series by looking at the first two chapters. He looks at the features John addresses of what makes a Christian and how this makes us different.
Ps Mel shared an encouraging message on Christmas Eve reminding us that God came to us. When we open our hearts and accept God, we can be held by heaven. Our relationship with God is based on what Jesus did, and that is good news.
Ps Paul wraps up our In Him series encouraging us that everything we need is found in God. He also explores how our minds need to be transformed to keep us focused and open to hear from God. As Christians we keep working to remain in this zone.
John kicks off our brand-new series by sharing how God simply wants our hearts. God wants to spend time with us, more than we want to spend time with Him. John then goes on to explore the apostle Paul and how in our lives God can be revealed first to us, then in us.
The gift of Heaven is the perfect gift. Ps Mel shares at our Christmas Party about the incredible gift of Jesus Christ which is available to everyone. We all have an invitation to accept God’s perfect gift. To accept His incredible love, and to allow ourselves to be loved by Him.
Do you know what you are inviting someone to? Tim wraps up our latest series sharing about the importance of knowing what you are inviting someone to. The people that we are inviting to the Christmas Party, we are inviting them into the Kingdom of God. Tim explores both what God’s Kingdom is, and what can be expected when we step into it.
Ps Jess continues our series, ‘An Invitation’, by encouraging us to live as a light on a hill, shining brightly so others can encounter God through us. She gives us come practical tips on how to invite the people in our lives to church so that they may have their own relationship with God.
Ps Mel continues our series looking at how we can encourage others to come and see. We can share the invitation to others around us to come and experience Jesus. We get to be Christ’s ambassadors to let others see God through us, and for them to be able to have their own experience.
Ps Paul begins our brand-new series, ‘An Invitation’. He explores how we are called to be ambassadors for God here on Earth, and what this means for each of us. As ambassadors for God, He will protect and provide.
Guest speaker Gary Morgan shared an incredible message with us this week. He spoke on how God is still moving and doing things today and that we can celebrate this. We need to have a connection with God that is based on what He is doing now, not what He has done in the past. He is still saving, healing, and outworking today. Nathan beautifully wrapped up our October series this week. Discussing how sometimes we create our own missions rather than asking God what he has instore for us. He encourages us to align our missions to God’s will for us and to pour out and build the culture of Heaven.
Ps Mel shares about how we live on purpose by knowing Jesus. We are born for God’s purpose, and it is in Him that we find our purpose. Living on purpose will simplify your life. To do this though we need to be surrendered to God.

Ps Mel kicks off our brand-new series, ‘Rich in Good Works’. One way of pointing people to Jesus is through our good deeds, which gives God the glory. Jesus went into other people’s worlds, and we are to follow this example. We want our community to know that everyone matters to God.
We are adopted and chosen by God. Kate and Amanda wrapped up our series on identity this week, inviting us to step into Gods presence and allow Him to change us. We are encouraged to surrender every part of ourselves to God and allow him to transform our identities.
John continues our series on identity. He uses the story of the prodigal son to show us that our identity isn’t tied to our past, but to God. He also challenges us to ask God who we are and step into the authority and identity that He has given us.
To find out about our identity, we can ask God as the one who created us. Tim continues our identity series sharing how when we submit to God, we are saying yes to letting Him define us. We can then begin living in the identity He has given us. We pray that you are blessed by this week’s message.
Nathan kicks off our brand-new series on identity. We need to know that we are first God’s. We might know it in our head, but we need to be living it out in our hearts. There are many things that can affect and influence who we think we are, so we need to know our identity is centered in God.

We can always though come to God and ask Him to remove any roots of bitterness within us, so that it will stop holding us back from the plans He has for us.

We are God’s ambassadors and are called to be stewards for Him. Ps Mel shares about our call to be stewards of what God has given us, because it all belongs to Him. Easter Sunday is a reminder that because of Jesus’ death and resurrection, there is life after death. Ps Mel looks at the story of Mary, Martha and Lazarus. God can provide new life to where there has been death. We pray that you will be blessed by this message.
Ps Mel looks at the Easter story through the perspective of Judas and Peter. Regret is too heavy for anyone to carry, and it will weigh you down. Ps Mel encourages us to bring it to Jesus and lay it down. God will rescue you if you let Him and His grace is available for you to receive.
Jess wraps up our series on prayer by talking about how God wants us to be coming to Him first in every situation. She talks on the importance of us having our own quiet spot and time to seek God. As well as how powerful it is when we pray together.

Ps Paul spoke about various levels of conversation as we meet together with others, the highest of which is when two or three are gathered in the name of Jesus (Matthew 18:20). Our God is a consuming fire (Hebrews 12:29), Jesus will return with blazing fire in his eyes (Revelation 1:14), we will be baptised with fire (Luke 3:16). We are representatives of a Holy God and we are to honour Him accordingly.

Ps Melanie encourages us that staying white hot for Jesus happens in our lives when we are living in community. As we are devoted to Christ our loyalty and steadfastness will shine through. Our reason for living ought to be to become more and more like Christ.
When the coals in a fire go out, they are no longer fit for purpose. So it is true with believers - we need to stoke the flames. Ps Melanie shares that the christian life cannot be lived in isolation and if we try, the fire slowly dies. However, fellowship with other believers can fire us up!
Ps Amanda states that there is a place for every type of person within the community, even those who are really different need to be in the community for someone who is equally different to connect to. There is a place for everyone. Being a connection point for others is equally important as connecting with others.
Stu spoke about finding a promise in the Word that dealt with an issue you are fighting, approaching the standpoint of God’s love. Then activating the promise by declaring it to be so in our lives.
Ps Melanie and Paul share their wisdom about marriage as they answer questions sent in by church members.
Ps Amanda advised all of us that we should increase our self-awareness in order to respond appropriately in dealing with others. She also said that in conflict it is better to pursue the relationship rather than justice. Nicholas spoke of the four major causes of relationship breakdown: criticism, defensiveness, contempt and stonewalling. He mentioned the importance of differentiation They then answered some interesting questions posed online by church embers about communication and conflict resolution.
Ps Paul spoke about the limitations we place on ourselves when we adopt a stance of defensiveness. We need to be in a place where we can receive correction in whatever form it takes without reacting defensively. Often this will mean laying down our own agendas and allowing God to soften our hearts so that we don’t react defensively.
Ps Melanie talks about the role of mothers. They know everything about their children as God knows everything about us. He has a particular plan for us, but are we prepared to say yes to Him?
Ps Melanie shares on the importance of forgiveness as a dynamic in our lives, as it frees us to live a life forgiven. Forgiveness of our sins and forgiveness of others who have wronged us in our past is crucial, otherwise we are stuck in bondage.
Ps Melanie shares about the importance of our mental health during this current period. The voices of accusation, mocking and ‘you can’t do this’ may be what we need to be fighting against right now.
What is our perspective when looking at COVID-19? Ps Paul preaches on the importance of understanding where God is in our current situation.
He is risen! Ps Melanie shows us how our hope is found in Jesus’ death and resurrection.
At the cross Jesus paid the ultimate price as the sin He took on himself separated Himself from the father. One of those crucified with Him understood his own guilt as well s Jesus’s total innocence. We accept this sacrifice when we realise our need for His grace and mercy. Our messes and shame lose their power at the cross.
Ps Mel shared how people get stuck through past hurts because they become cynical and only trust in God can move them back to where He wants them to be. Cynicism can lead to bitterness and addictions. Equally dangerous is when a person is believing in a false hope, one that doesn’t emanate from God. This person needs to leave false hope behind and put their faith in the living hope of the Lord.
Ps Paul talks about how to deal with three significant ways we can get stuck: issues from our past, believing lies, and making bad choices.
Ps Mel outlined four ways that we can be stuck in our lives: taking responsibility for others, refusing to let go of a season that has finished, ignoring what God is telling you to do, or you've handed the control of your life to others.
This week we first heard from Tim Taylor who spoke about the importance of reading the word at least four times a week, and the great capacity it has to change our lives and connect us with God. Ps Mel then spoke about the need for worship as a form of positive connection is our lives. Worship has the capacity to change what is going on inside us, which will in turn influence our outward behaviour.
One of the ways we grow as christians is through people we meet in the christian context of Groups. We learn to love people, be respective of their personalty type & character, and this helps with the development of our patience, acceptance and tolerance. We cannot do this in isolation.
Every person craves connection - we are created for it. As Christians we are commissioned to make disciples of Jesus and 1 Corinthians 9:21-23 suggests we should lead people to Christ by serving them.
One of the secrets to being close to God is a strong prayer life. Our prayer life can be greatly enhanced when we pray in the Holy Spirit, because He leads us into Gods will.
Tim continues our series on the book of Colossians, exploring the new life that Jesus has called us to live in. “For you died, and your life is now hidden with Christ in God. When Christ, who is your life, appears, then you also will appear with him in glory.” Colossians 3:3-4
Ps Melanie continues our series into the book of Colossians, empowering us with the message that in Him are wisdom and knowledge, power and authority, and through these things in Him we live.
Paul wrote to the church of Colossae because gnostics were referring to secret knowledge that brought Jesus down to the angelic level. He reminded the church that Jesus is the visible image of the invisible God. He is first in everything and the fullness of God exists in Him. And He can be revealed in us as the hope of glory.
There is an open invitation in the Bible given to anyone who is interested to come and see Jesus. He wants every single person on the planet to see Him and know how deep and wide and wonderful His grace and love is for them.
In the beginning God walked in the garden with Adam and Eve. It has always been His desire to be with us and often He wants to be with us more than we want to be with Him. The more we surrender to Him, the greater will be our ability to listen to Him.
Ps Melanie explains that a vital part of God with us is knowing his peace. As we learn to trust in Him and stop relying on our own strength, His peace works its way through our lives.
Nicola Gibb shared ‘God With Us’ through a series of stories in her own life that illustrated the fact that God is with us in the fire, in the storms, as well as in the rich seasons.
As Christ's ambassadors we have an obligation to know what we represent. Ps Paul encourages us to be ready to embody the values of heaven, as we present the love of our Father to others.
Ps Melanie spoke about how God purposes and then helps us to share our story with others, to bring them to Him.
Stu spoke about making a genuine attempt to show interest in people in a loving way to earn their trust. To let them see that you genuinely care, once they experience this genuine care they become curious about where it emanates from. This can create an opportunity to tell them that we love because He first loved us.
Ps Amanda spoke about the importance of us telling our own story about what God is doing, and has done, in our lives to the people around us. People have no counter to the powerful things God is doing in our lives.
Ps Melanie teaches about the impacts of our inner thoughts on our physical and mental wellbeing. How do we respond to the negative words of others? These are thoughts generated from outside. The there are the ones generated from the inside, sometimes by our flesh and sometimes by unwanted spirits.
Many mental health issues, such as anxiety and depression, are caused by a lack of connection with other people. Ps Melanie explores ways that we can keep connected and be mentally healthy.
Ps Melanie brings an encouraging message on gratitude and mental health, as gratitude is our greatest antidote against offence. We are encouraged to praise Him in the promise and in the suffering.
Ps Paul brings a powerful message about mental health, encouraging us that God loves us in our mess and does his greatest works in our mess.
Ps Mel encourages us to guard our own heart as God has asked us to. We are responsible for guarding, tending, watching over and keeping our heart.
Tim Spoke about how easily people take offence today. He used as an example the offence Jesus’s brothers and family took in his early ministry, and that of the pharisee’s throughout his entire ministry. Tim spoke about the need to guard our hearts against offence.
Sometimes life’s circumstances lead us to a place where we take offence at God. This leaves us isolated and without hope, the challenge is to take the offence to God and find his true heart.
Ps Melanie shares about how we need to take up God’s help to overcome offence. When we give God access to the places of hurt in us, He turns our brokenness in to life.
Ps Pat challenged us to be engaged in our community in totally practical ways (e.g. mowing a neighbours lawn, or delivering a new neighbour a meal). This, he said, represented us being salt and light, and the Holy Spirit can move on these simple kindnesses.
Ps Melanie explains how we can make the right decisions by using wisdom, the principals in His word and leaning in to the Spirit of God, as God shows us the right way to go.
Ps Paul preaches about the importance of Godly wisdom and its application in all aspects of our lives.
Ps Mel explains how our life destination is in our own hands. We can choose to speak life and destiny as we prophesy to ourselves who God says we are.

Faith is a substance that can be obtained through prayer and diligence, it can also be a gift from God. Stu walks us through faith as it comes from reading and hearing the word of God.
