Did the artistic liberties of the movie directors help or hinder the films themselves? Over the next few weeks, the guys will each pick a movie they’d like to focus on. They’ll give you low down and the straight facts on what really happened in history and what is purely fantasy.
This week the boys will attempt to conjure up some facts surrounding the plot of the 2013 hit horror film, “The Conjuring”. They will dig into the past, perhaps at times against one of their wills, to find the origins behind Annabelle and Amityville. Are they based on truth or just the scribblings of a madman? If this doesn’t get the hairs on the back of your neck to stand up, perhaps a conversation with a demon claiming to be batman will. However, his long awaited joy ride in the pickup truck is forced to be placed on hold as his decision to quickly change into a new pair of clothes send him down a 12 hour long detour that includes insurance agents, man of the house discussions, late night swimming and a two foot tall movie star who lives in a rock garden. Dream Snip #11: In the eleventh snippet, hop on board and follow Dan through another crazy day at the office, as he uses his horse racing knowledge to make a big bet in hopes of scoring big. Dream Snip #12: In the twelfth and final snippet of the episode, join Dan as he’s forced to confront his close friend Travis C. in an attempt to protect his brother Steve. Will Dan be able to convince Travis to do the right thing, on that fateful day atop the cobble stone driveway, or will he be forced into playing his final card, which may or may not include Ziplock sandwich bags and his backpack. Will friendships be salvaged or destroyed?

Travis is back with another game show style quiz for Dan and Alan. This time, he will test their knowledge of Christmas Holiday Movies. How well do they know their holiday film trivia? Many of us grew up with an A-symmetrical belief system. We were so worried about being good, as to not miss out on receiving toys from Santa. However, if we weren’t so good, the worst-case scenario was a bit of coal in our stocking. Now, if you grew up in Central Europe, your belief system may have been skewed the other way. If you were good, you may be rewarded with a handful of treats, but if you were bad, you could be dragged to the depths of hell and tortured for eternity by an angry demon. Just saying, but it feels as if the reward does not outweigh the risk in the later situation.

Dan has introduced a new wrinkle into the Dream-isode landscape. From time to time we will release a Dream Snips Collection, which is a series of shorter, but just as entertaining dreams, straight from the crazy recesses of Dan mind! Here’s a quick blurb of what you can expect in this volume:
Dream Snip #7: In the seventh snippet, join Dan as he is forced from his graduation ceremony at the school of “Counterfeit Money Detection”, located in the heart of Salt Lake City. Sadly, he’s cast out, not by just one, but two giant incoming tsunamis! Follow Dan, as he frantically runs through the streets of SLC in search of a safe haven. Of course, saving himself is not enough, he must also find a way to safe a woman and her child from an evil business owner, during the aftermath of this catastrophic anomaly. Will he escape the rushing waters in time? Can he afford to house a mother and her daughter?
Dream Snip #8: In the eighth snippet, catch up with Dan as he peruses the aisles of an old VHS rental store, located in the back of a coffee shop. What will he rent, before he goes home to store more boxes in his basement? Hold on tight, as you’ll be surprised what else he finds in his basement. Let’s just say a urine-soaked rug leads him on a journey involving homeless people, laughing cart-wheel loving cat-foxes, hidden tunnels, secret portals and of course, Catfish Dragons. Will he make it out of the basement alive?
Dream Snip #9: In the ninth and final snippet of the episode, Dan finds himself back in high school once again. As usual, things can’t just go smoothly, as he is forced to investigate a series of purple smoke poofs. Things take a turn for the worst when he discovers these poofs are creating evil little gremlins that are ransacking the school. Unfortunately, one of these foul beasts does end up cornering Dan for a while. Luckily, this time was not spent in vain, as Dan learns that the gremlins grow taller and taller the longer, they’re alive. Will he be able to use this new found knowledge against them in an effort to rid the city of this strange purple haze epidemic?

This time join Dan, as he vacations in a nice Air B&B with his family, only to find out that his wife had been hiding crabs in their draws the whole time! These aren’t just any ordinary crabs. They are alien crabs, with the ability to shape shift into any size, shape and color. Without further delay, he must recruit his brother Steve, to help him destroy these alien crabs before it’s too late. Will they get the job done in time, or will the shape shifters from space get the better of them?
After the debacle with the alien crabs, Dan is then asked by a pool repair man friend, if he’d like to help him on a special job. Not being one to disappoint, he not only volunteers himself, but his brother and wife as well. Many have enjoyed the fun and relaxation of an international cruise before, and many who haven’t, aspire to make that a goal someday. Well, as much fun as being a passenger on a cruise ship can be, have you ever thought about what it would be like to work on a cruise ship? Join our main character Dan, as he gets separated from his family, but is given the opportunity to both be a passenger and an employee on the same cruise ship within 24 hours. Unfortunately, as much as Dan learns about the hardships of the behind the scenes cruise life, this does not help the fact that the ship Captain is having his own struggles and crashes the large boat. Will Dan get off the cruise liner alive? Will he ever find his family?
Of course, Dan can’t just leave you with one plot line and instead will transport the listener to a fancy new hotel in Las Vegas, where he will give you a first-hand account of their new river ride attraction. In his narrative, he will not only speak to all of the deadly situations one will encounter on this ride, but will also tell you how to combat those threats and leave the ride in one piece. The boys decided to scratch their creative itch by diving head first into some creative writing. Of course, this challenge wouldn’t be as fun with out some self-imposed parameters. Each host must come up with a scary story to celebrate the Halloween Spirit. In addition, each writer drew two things, two people and two places at random on a previous episode and must incorporate all of these items into their story in one facet or another. Dream Snip #4: In the fourth snippet, join Dan as he actively helps his brother Alan, navigate life as a fugitive. Unfortunately, he doesn’t do the best job. The home Dan finds for the two of them to crash in for the night, just so happens to belongs to the one and only detective who has obsessively chased Alan over the course of the last 10 years! How will they get out of this pickle? Will Alan end up in prison or will the fugitive hunt continue? Oh, and what is the Mothers of Missing Fugitives Club?
Dream Snip #5: In the fifth snippet, catch up with Dan as he is in a huge hurry to get somewhere very important. However, he does not quite know where or why he needs to go to a certain place at a certain time. Anyway, even though Dan is in such a hurry, his wife insists on getting a haircut on the way. Dan, being a kind and loving husband, gives into his wife’s request and waits patiently as she gets her forever-long haircut. Then out of sheer frustration, Dan stops an unsuspecting driver who was stuck at a stop light and decides to give this man a visual example of the vexation he feels.
Dream Snip #6: In the sixth and final snippet of the episode, Dan travels to the White House to meet up with his friend Travis, who has just started a new job as a White House Security Guard. Sadly, Travis ends up getting both he and his boss fired, while simultaneously getting both his and Dan’s cell phones confiscated. However, Travis seems to take the firing very well. Meanwhile, Dan is beside himself at the audacity of the White House personnel taking his phone with no explanation. Will Travis get another job? Will Dan get his phone back?

What starts out as a normal day for Dan takes a quick turn, as he begins helping a customer through the bank drive-thru. This is where the mundane task ends and the exciting use of cerebral telekinesis technology begins. Once he is finished reading minds, he and the bank staff are quickly ushered into a safe room where they must wait out a mandatory lock down drill that is being monitored by government regulators. As if this day isn’t busy enough, Dan is then forced to ward off vandalizers with a chair, explain to construction workers who are building his house how to do their jobs and ultimately calculates the amount of home equity he currently has. This may not be an epic saga like some of the dreams that came before it, but don’t fear, Travis and Alan have a way of making the ordinary, extraordinary. So, take a seat, kick up your legs and let this story envelop your mind!

This all happens before he gets off work, at which point he catches a glimpse of the Queen of Dragons, watches his brother get beat senseless with Gatorade and hands out basketballs for Halloween. Some things in life a predictable, but most things are not. Due to a small dose of this uncertainty we were forced to delay the scheduled recording of this week’s episode of the Q Code Podcast. However, we did not want to leave you empty handed. So we dug deep into our dusty coffers and pulled out this gem. An episode that was recorded before any of the episodes you’ll find on our feed. This dream starts out simple enough. Dan heads off to help his daughters school class as a volunteer, but is suddenly thrust into a mountain village where he must now be a field trip chauffeur. Luckily Dan is one to adjust to new situations on the fly, which serves him well, as he must deal with the local authorities, his hobo mother, an angry dwarf and a klepto-mayor.
