Recently some of TheXboxHub team (and special guests) got together down in London for an evening of iconic video game music with BAFTA Games in Concert, spanning award-winning and nominated pieces from the past 20 years of the BAFTA Games Awards.

With the Easter festivities done and dusted, TheXboxHub’s Gareth, James and Richard are ready for TheXboxHub Official Podcast Episode 75. Expect to hear about anything and everything related to gaming, with no console off-limits. The team set their sights on many games this week, including two of the biggest recent releases Outriders and It Takes Two as well as Last Oasis and Mundaun. We also cover a few news stories that stood out and there’s a Metacritic inspired quiz, so please enjoy our latest episode.
Our trio start proceedings with a bit of a catch up. You’ll find them discussing all sorts in this segment, such as the legacy of the Rocky character, a selection of truly awful movies they’ve seen over Easter, and the gruelling WrestleMania week schedule.
That’s followed by their unbiased opinions on a wide range of games, both old and new. There’s a lot of love for the co-op exploits of It Takes Two, the survival antics in Last Oasis, and the rather tense Mundaun. Unfortunately, Outriders is the cause of much frustration, Radon Blast is lacking in a few areas, and Cruz Brothers has a couple of issues. If that’s not quite enough, be sure to listen out for thoughts about Breathedge and Oddworld: Soulstorm too.
And then the attention switches to news from the world of gaming. You can look forward to hearing about the upcoming Xbox Games Pass additions, a teaser for a PS5 horror shooter titled Abandoned, the RE:Verse beta being pulled, and the official return of E3.
Before finishing up the episode, there’s the small matter of a Metacritic quiz. It’s a rematch between reigning champion James and the knowledgeable challenger Richard. Who will come out on top this time?

Due to the massive influx of news prior to this week, it’s pretty sparse lately. Nevertheless, there’s discussion regarding April’s Games with Gold freebies and what PS Plus provides in comparison. Furthermore, CD Projekt RED’s future plans caught their attention as well as the release of a new content update for No Man’s Sky. And then to close out the episode, there’s another Metacritic inspired quiz which sees James going head to head with Darren for the first time.

Games, games, and more games! That’s what you can expect in this episode after an eventful week which included the Future Games Show and a jam-packed ID@Xbox Twitch showcase. It doesn’t matter if you’re more inclined towards Xbox, PlayStation, Nintendo or PC, there’s going to be lots of interesting games to hear about in TheXboxHub Official Podcast Episode 73. Well, it’s official. Microsoft have sealed the deal that enables them to add Bethesda to their ever-growing Xbox Game Studios portfolio and it’s the talk of the town. Naturally, TheXboxHub Official Podcast Episode 71 has something to offer regarding the deal, but there’s also a cavalcade of games to discuss as we share thoughts on DiRT 5, Kill It With Fire, Maquette, and many more. Expect the likes of Monster Truck Championship, DiRT 5, Eastshade, In Rays of the Light and other intriguing games to feature too.
With time to spare, the team delve into the Bethesda deal and speculate what it means for Xbox Game Pass. Elsewhere, potentially dodgy dealings at EA involving FIFA Ultimate Team cards caught their eye. The unveiling of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Shredder’s Revenge really brought about some nostalgic feelings, while news regarding We Were Here Forever extending the co-op series further and the release window for Rust just caps off a good week of announcements.

In the wake of the Nintendo Pokémon Direct and PlayStation State of Play, things have understandably gotten a little quieter. Don’t worry though, for we still have interesting gaming news to chat about in this episode and we’re putting a few recent releases in the spotlight, like Under the Jolly Roger and GraviFire. The Outriders ‘demo’ is also causing a stir, so be sure to tune in to TheXboxHub Official Podcast Episode 70.
This week, Richard returns alongside James and Gareth, with general musings kickstarting the episode. One ponders growing older with a big milestone approaching, while the other two focus on more important topics such as Netflix’s Behind Her Eyes and the Birds of Prey film from the DC Universe.

Additionally, the Aliens: Fireteam announcement caught their attention, weighing up its potential to be a success where others have failed. Well, Nintendo caught everyone off-guard with a surprise presentation this week and so there are a heck of a lot of announcements to discuss. Hence, TheXboxHub Official Podcast Episode 68 is going to feature the very best bits from the Nintendo Direct, which means you can look forward to Zelda, Mario and more getting a mention. In terms of games though, expect a chat about the intriguing Project Winter and how it’s best enjoyed. Obviously, the hot topic is the Nintendo Direct presentation, with the team picking out some of their highlights, including The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword HD, Mario Golf: Super Rush, and Project Triangle Strategy. Even though they aren’t all winners, attention turns to other games releasing in February, with the team looking forward to Little Nightmares II, Taxi Chaos, and Retromania Wrestling.
And speaking of wrestling, the recent announcement of Action Arcade Wrestling suggests that it could be a good year for fans of the squared circle antics. Such news is slightly overshadowed by the reveal of the Mass Effect Legendary Edition release date.

There have been more game delays, surprising reveals like the New Pokemon Snap, and release dates for a selection of highly anticipated games are now becoming clearer. So, whether your interests involve Xbox, PlayStation or Nintendo, TheXboxHub Official Podcast Episode 63 will have something to offer.
The line-up for this episode consists of Gareth, James, and Richard, who get the ball rolling with a general catch-up discussion regarding their recent activities. Expect those terrible ones like E.T. and Home Alone to get a mention alongside the marginally better Marvel tie-ins and the pinnacle for some, Goldeneye.

There are fresh thoughts on Assassin’s Creed Valhalla and Yakuza Like a Dragon now that the previews are out in the wild. We also managed to squeeze in a couple of other bits and bobs, including the new ability to record voice chats on PS5.
And finally, the big segment about the games we’ve played in the last seven days closes out the episode. All three members of the team were able to indulge in the 2D action-platformer, Foregone - thanks to the generous folks at Big Blue Bubble - and can therefore explain what makes it an impressive addition to the genre. Nevertheless, the much anticipated Gamescom 2020 went ahead in a new format and kicked off proceedings with a two-hour live stream full of games, before following up with a whole load of daily content. With the likes of the San Diego Comic-Con cancelled, DC conjured up their very own virtual event to promote a host of upcoming content. Hence, the recent DC FanDome extravaganza has treated us to all sorts of news and sneak peeks revolving around the DC Universe - or shall we say, Multiverse. So prepare for gaming, film and TV discussion in TheXboxHub Official Podcast Episode 45, for this is a DC FanDome special and it’s Bat-tastic!
Unfortunately, there were no DC Comics experts on-hand, so it’s down to Gareth, James and Richard to fill us in on the highlights and lowlights this week. They dive straight into Warner Bros Montreal’s Gotham Knights, which looks to allow the Bat family a chance to shine. In stark contrast, Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League from Rocksteady will focus on Harley Quinn and the gang. Despite both offerings being well-presented, one seems to be a more exciting prospect to our team than the other.
Moving onto films, and the gritty new incarnation of Bruce Wayne’s alter-ego in The Batman certainly raised eyebrows. The trio were also fascinated by the character reveals for the undoubtedly bonkers The Suicide Squad; especially the role set to be played by Nathan Fillion. Zack Snyder’s Justice League got a mention, but some people remain unconvinced as to whether it’ll be worth the hassle. Even though there wasn’t much to see, Black Adam and The Flash did enough to leave a lasting impression. With the Wonder Woman 1984 release just around the corner, that may tide us over for now.
Obviously, the podcast couldn’t wrap up without going over the direction in which Titans is heading for its third season. It’s expected to introduce a couple of rather familiar baddies, that’s for sure.

It’s the one you’ve all been waiting for. Yes, the 40th instalment of our popular gaming podcast is finally here. As luck would have it, there’s an Xbox Games Showcase to digest and so that’s our main focus for TheXboxHub Official Podcast Episode 40. With a whole load of titles shown off for Xbox One and Xbox Series X, are there Infinite reasons to be excited after the Xbox Games Showcase?
In this episode, Gareth and James are joined by Richard, with the aim of sharing their unscripted thoughts on everything they’ve seen during the Xbox Games Showcase. And it kicks off with discussion about the big one, Halo Infinite, which received a demo of the campaign. The open-world feel and inclusion of a grappling hook style feature to Halo pleased some more than others. It wasn’t long before Forza Motorsport got a mention as they speculated what the future holds for the franchise.
While every game is covered throughout the podcast, there were a few that really caught their attention. Games such as Rare’s lovely looking Everwild; Tell Me Why, which caused intrigue with its Life Is Strange vibe; the next huge RPG from Obsidian, Avowed; Psychonauts 2 with Jack Black on the soundtrack; the creepy dual-worlds of The Medium; and the action-MMORPG Phantasy Star Online 2 New Genesis.
There was also a chance to check out a few of the pre-show announcements, with the delightful Balan Wonderworld stealing the spotlight. When you’ve got the creative minds behind Sonic on-board, you’re always going to be on the right track towards success.

It hasn’t even been a week since TheXboxHub team recorded a podcast, but they’re back so swiftly for a very specific reason - Ubisoft Forward. That’s right, TheXboxHub Official Podcast Episode 39 focuses solely on Ubisoft’s recent digital gaming conference, covering the most important aspects from the pre-show and the main event itself. So let’s delve into all it offered and find out if it satisfied our expectations.
Gareth, James, and William jumped straight in and spent a large portion of this episode sharing their thoughts on the big three - Watch Dogs: Legion, Assassin’s Creed Valhalla and Far Cry 6. There’s a lot to mention, specifically about the character variety in Watch Dogs: Legion, the exciting combat and raiding in AC Valhalla, and the fantastic actor starring in ‘surprise’ reveal of Far Cry 6. The AAA trio also received confirmed release dates, which sparked discussion on whether any of these tie-in to the Xbox Series X and PlayStation 5 launches.

Another week has passed by, which means TheXboxHub team are ready to delve into all things in the realm of gaming - and often beyond - once more. At the heart of the discussions during TheXboxHub Official Podcast Episode 37 is whether video games are becoming too long and too difficult these days. There’s also chatter about rumoured games potentially coming to Xbox Series X and the future unveiling of the Xbox Series S.
In this week’s episode, Richard joins Gareth and James, with the trio jumping straight into how they’ve been keeping occupied recently. It’s intriguing stuff as we hear about online arcade machines, an addiction to Police Interceptors and a recommendation to watch Amazon Prime’s Little Fires Everywhere. Somehow this goes off on a tangent towards difficult games and what level of difficulty they prefer when gaming.

In stark contrast, Gareth spent some time pretending to be helpful in the role of a space station’s AI while playing Observation.
Then, after talking about the likes of the upcoming Xbox Game Pass titles, the Xbox Series S and the Summer Game Fest Demo Event, they move on to the length of games nowadays. Are they really getting too long, with many new games featuring upwards of 20 hours of content, or are there other reasons why some big titles can become a chore?

After a brief hiatus, TheXboxHub team have resurfaced for their weekly podcast once more and its sole focus this week is to delve into everything seen during the PlayStation 5 reveal event. As such, TheXboxHub Official Podcast Episode 34 features a four-piece ensemble of gamers willing to give their honest and unbiased opinions. So, when all is said and done, was the PS5 reveal event a success?

The cavalcade of games didn’t stop there either; Agent 47 is ready for his last stand in Hitman 3, there’s another Resident Evil sequel lurking in the shadows, Horizon: Forbidden West is bringing luscious environments, and many others are showcased too. As the episode reaches its climax, talk turns to the actual design of the PS5 and a selection of peripherals.

Then it’s all about the recent news of remasters, remakes and the odd brand new game; this segment touches on the likes of the Mafia trilogy, Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater and PGA Tour 2K21.

What an eventful week for Xbox gamers; not only did they get an Inside Xbox episode showcasing a selection of Xbox Series X games, but now there’s a new instalment of our weekly podcast about all things gaming. As you can probably guess, TheXboxHub Official Podcast Episode 30 sets its focus on the most recent Inside Xbox and the many unveilings within it. After a fair bit of hype, did it deliver enough to tide us over or were TheXboxHub team disappointed?
Before delving into the Xbox Series X news and reveals though, Gareth and James welcome Edgar to the podcast. Due to it being his debut, we take time to get to know Edgar a little better through a sequence of varied questions. Once we figured out what some of his favourite things are, the attention turned to Inside Xbox and what had been featured.
Amongst the games discussed are the action-packed FPS Bright Memory: Infinite with its sword and gun combo, the bizarre atmospheric horror Scorn, Bandai Namco’s anime style sci-fi action game Scarlet Nexus, and DIRT 5 the thrilling next instalment of the off-roading series. That’s not all however, with plenty of buzz also surrounding the sadistic looking Vampire the Masquerade: Bloodlines 2, the creepy dual-worlds of The Medium, and the exciting next chapter of the Yakuza series, Yakuza: Like a Dragon. Gareth focused on the frighteningly bizarre Inner Friend with its mixture of horror, stealth and puzzling; the Artifex Mundi connoisseur James has been solving crimes through completing mini-games in Path of Sin: Greed; and Bentley leapt into a tribute to Resident Evil, Daymare: 1998.

In the past seven days, the guys have been playing a wide range of games on Xbox One and even the Nintendo Switch. Amongst those receiving genuine praise are the gothic survival RPG Sunless Sea: Zubmariner Edition, hidden object puzzle adventure The Secret Order: Shadow Breach, light-based puzzler Archaica: The Path of Light, and the exciting racer Mario Kart 8 Deluxe.
The final discussion point sees a number of potential ideas bandied about for which of their favourite novels, films or TV shows they’d like to be made into video games. While there are a lot of terrible suggestions, a couple could actually turn out rather well if any gifted development teams ever gave them a go.

Meanwhile, Gareth has been giving his mind a workout thanks to Obduction, a new game from developers Cyan Worlds – the folks behind the classic Myst. James decided to take it easy by spending time in the relaxing hidden object puzzle adventure Uncharted Tides: Port Royal. In terms of news, there’s delight over the incoming additions to Xbox Game Pass, intrigue at the Little Hope trailer, and astonishment about the bizarre failed launch of Cooking Mama: Cookstar.

The team have been playing games on multiple platforms this week, with Xbox One, Nintendo Switch and PSVR getting a look in. The rhythmic Beat Saber has been an exercise tool, while the fast-paced twin-stick shooter HyperParasite has proven to be a real challenge. In stark contrast to those two experiences, one person seems to be grafting hard in Construction Simulator 3 and another is driving a bus erratically in Snakeybus. In these times of uncertainty, there’s one thing you can rely on and that’s the arrival of TheXboxHub Official Podcast Episode 23. Whilst the coronavirus is still having a major affect on global events, the detailed specs of both the Xbox Series X and the PS5 gave the team something else to sink their teeth into.
This week, Gareth (the host) and James are joined by another James – to be known as Bentley to avoid confusion – to try and break down the incredibly in-depth presentation by Mark Cerny regarding PlayStation 5. Alongside that, there are even more details to discuss about the Xbox Series X, including its size and the prospect of using memory cards. After contemplating the specs, pondering begins as to which sounds the most appealing right now and whether they’ll release as planned – or not.
As for what games they’ve been playing, well, there’s the anime fighting antics courtesy of One Punch Man: A Hero Nobody Knows and a puzzling exercise in the form of Hidden Through Time. Then there’s an exclusive interview – the third in our recent Wired Productions series – regarding the upcoming sci-fi action adventure, Deliver Us The Moon.
In the closing stages of Episode 20, thoughts are shared on the subject of gaming soundtracks; with Final Fantasy, Telltale’s Guardians of the Galaxy series, and Dear Esther getting a mention whilst pondering the growing importance of a soundtrack.

TheXboxHub Official Podcast Episode 19 has arrived and the TXH team get together once more to talk about the latest happenings in gaming, television, film and anything else that’s a hot topic right now. TheXboxHub Official Podcast returns for Episode 17 and the TXH team get together once more to talk about the latest happenings in gaming. It’s not all about Xbox One though, with the terrific trio of Gareth (the host), James, and Neil keen to discuss the hot topics in TV and film as well as what’s occurring on other platforms. The big focus this week is on the draws of co-op play and whether it triumphs over single player offerings.
The team have been playing all sorts of games and enjoying various experiences in the past seven days, including the surreal goings on in Kentucky Route Zero: TV Edition, the puzzling antics of Glass Masquerade 2, the wonderfully animated point-and-clicker Trüberbrook, and the zombie infested world of Zombie Army 4: Dead War. There’s also chat about the impending Xbox Game Pass arrivals and the announcement of another construction simulator on the horizon.
When talk turns to the pros and cons of co-op gaming, things really get kicked up a notch with references to some great games such as A Way Out, The Division, Strange Brigade and many more. By the end of it you may well be left convinced that co-op is generally better than single player.
