Are you facing a divorce and have no idea where to begin? These are my three to do action items that will keep you from a divorce disaster:
•Information: start gathering it and quickly. Simply don’t wait to protect yourself.
•Preparation: do it. Prepare for the worst and hope for the best. Assemble your team emotionally, physically and legally. You can NEVER be too prepared for a divorce or mediation.
•Documentation: start a notebook, start a file on your personal computer that is only accessible to you and put a passcode on it. You don’t want your children to be able to access it. Document everything. This can be exhausting but it will be your best power tool in a divorce.
