Hiding behind assumptions, labels, and perceptions is an artful way to not be dismissed. Being seen by those that would not otherwise, can come at a cost of not defining yourself at all. It is a paradox I live in and want to expose.
Hiding in the darkness is never better contrasted until the light enters. In the exposure of light we have a choice to hug the shadows or embrace the illumination. Which do you choose? Most find the dark a safer choice.
We look to define things and people. I have hidden my self safely in these labels at times but I also find myself limited by them. I have had to hide myself in safe places to have the opportunity to be seen. What a paradox to try to hide in order for others to see you. Let me explain...
