This Sunday we honor our fathers. Fathers can be more than biological. Fatherly figures in our lives are those who invest in us in many different ways. Their presence bring re-assurance and help in times of need. Thank you Fathers!
We also continue our look at the good news that Jesus brings into the world. Jesus was definitely a fatherly figure to many overlooked people groups. This week we will look at the next fringe character who Jesus invests in who needed some help. This time it is a man who is demon-possessed.
Think through these questions: How do we respond to the power of Jesus? Does it make us fearful or more secure? What needs could you use some help with? When you have difficulties in your life that you are struggling to overcome, who do you turn to?
We have been in a series about Jesus and the good news He is bringing into the world. Tomorrow we will be looking at Luke 9:28-45. As you prepare your heart for worship, think about pinnacle moments in life. Do you think the disciples’ pinnacle in their relationship with Jesus was when they first met Jesus? Maybe being called by Him to be one of His followers? How about watching Jesus do all of the amazing miracles? Or how about when Jesus started doing things through them? Something else? Where do you think their high point was? Where is your high point with Jesus?

This Sunday we continue our look at the good news that Jesus brings into the world. As we continue to journey through the Gospel of Luke, let's keep looking at Jesus. Think about these questions: Who is Jesus? How do we respond to Him? Do we respond to Jesus with fear and distance? Do we respond to Jesus with faith and draw near? Do we respond at all? Do we believe that His cleanness overpowers our uncleanness? For what purpose?
We will also be returning to the Gospel of Luke to continue our look at how Jesus came for everyone. Our passage will be Luke 7:36-8:3. Be thinking about these questions. Do you see yourself and/or others primarily as needing judgment or encouragement? Do you see yourself and/or others primarily as damaged goods or loved children of the King?
