Worldbridges hosted this highly interesting presentation and discussion by Jeff Lebow & Buthaina for the 'Tips and Tricks' TESOL EVO about the possibilities of webcasting with students. Excellent conversation between elementary school teachers in Maine, USA about podcasting. Bob Sprank le and Cheryl Oakes share their experiences and insights with guest Educators, Leah Tondreau and Dave Fornier. The topics include podcasting, blogging and rss.
This discussion took place at World Bridges last Sunday, 5th February. It followed on from the ELT Podcasting week 3 summary webcast, and concerns the idea of involving students in a live session using Skype, starting in week 6 of our course. We would like to involve others in this. Please listen to the brainstorm and tell us if you would like to be involved, or/and if you know of any students who would like to be part of this exciting new initiative.
This ELT Podcasting webcast,to mark the half-way mark in the evo2006 session, was held at World Bridges on Sunday 5th February. It has now been edited and runs at around 1 hour and ten minutes. Hosted by Scott Lockmann and Graham Stanley, we started to run through a few of the things that have been happening, and then were joined by some of the participants.
The chat transcript is also available here: http://worldbridges.com/courses/ELTpodcasting/files/ELTPodcastingchat.html
This is chapter 1 of a student radio play fostered by Uwe Klemm. This idea can be used locally by students of EFL to practice reading, speaking, and script-writing skills. And it's good listening practice.
This is 30 minute commute-cast thatn was recorded on the way into central Tokyo. In it are a series of impressions and recollections from the first 3 plus weeks of the current EVO 2006 Podcasting ELT session.
Audio from a conference presentation entitled "iTeach, iLearn: Student Podcasting" given on February 1st, 2006.
From world Bridges: "Buthaina’s & Rita’s classes in Kuwait and Argentina participated in a very innovative, interactive skyped webcast during which participants exchanged questions and information about their respective cultures."
It came up in the Moodle forum recently, and here it is - an example of an EFL webcast intercultural exchange.
What I love about Aaron's podcast site 'English Conversations': http://e-poche.net/conversations/ is the variety of material. I also think that the transcripts that support the podcasts on this site will really help the lower level learners understand.
Episode 1 of Uwe's students' podcast "radio play" A great idea for a student podcast. See Uwe's comments about it on his blog: http://blog.klemm-site.de/wordpress/
