Wilkes University's first-year student Orientation from July, 7-14, 2021 was in-person for the first time in two years. President Greg Cant welcomed new students and their families in the auditorium of the Dorothy Dickson Darte Performing Arts Center before their day of sessions began.
Dr. Scott Stolte, dean of the Nesbitt School of Pharmacy discusses the exciting future of pharmacy with Dr. Daniel Longyhore, System Director of Knowledge Management for Pharmacy at Geisinger. With a 96 percent job placement rate, Wilkes graduates are sought after in the job market. Caroline Rickard is a perfect example. Graduating from Wilkes in the spring of 2020 with a degree in communication studies and a minor in marketing, she was hired almost immediately getting her dream job as a media strategist with greater Philadelphia marketing firm Fingerpaint. Caroline talks with Patty DeViva, Wilkes University's assistant director of marketing, about all the opportunities including internships, work study positions, travel and leadership that she received as a Wilkes student.
Wilkes University’s popular pre-law program has been a path to success for many students who want to pursue a career in law. Corey Hauser '18, a finance major with an economics minor, was part of the pre-law program at Wilkes. Now in his second year of law school at Washington and Lee University, Corey was just named the editor-in-chief of the Washington and Lee Law Review. In this podcast he catches up with his pre-law advisor, Dr. Kyle Kreider, professor of political science and also the coordinator of the pre-law program, to discuss how the pre-law program at Wilkes prepared him for his current success in law school.

Recent grad Danny DeVito '20 speaks with assistant professor Lisa Reynolds about how the DDMA program prepared him for landing a totally "dope" job as graphic designer at Fox Sports in Los Angeles. DeVito shares how, because of the small class size and personal attention from his professors, he was able to gain a skill set uniquely prepared him for his dream job.
