Have you ever stopped and thought about the areas of your life where you are sowing your time and resources? In this episode, I talk with Jason Alcott author of the book The Sowing Principle: The steps between your purpose and the harvest. Jason opens the book with this statement “What we experience in life today and tomorrow is directly related to what we sowed yesterday and each day before it.
In his debut book, The Sowing Principle, Jason Alcott shares that God has already equipped you with everything that you need to grow in your relationship with Him. The book is a framework for looking at all that God has blessed you with and all that He is calling you to, and how you can discern if you are moving towards or away from His will for your life. Experience in these pages an increased self-awareness while you discover the tools of sowing that lead to a truly purposeful life.

More about Jason Alcott:
Jason Alcott is a writer born and raised just outside of Vancouver, BC. He studied business at Trinity Western University graduated with a Bachelor of Business Administration and currently works supporting a great operations team in the construction industry. He began writing his debut book, The Sowing Principle, after recognizing the role that sowing and reaping was playing in his life and the impact this understanding could have on others. When he is not writing, he can often be found with his wife trying to wrestle their toddlers into car seats to go and explore all the adventures waiting just outside their front door.

In this episode, we'll explore how we can find contentment in the mundane of life's circumstances – even when things are tough.

Christmas is a time of year when families come together to celebrate. But Christmas time is about much more than just family gatherings. It is about hope, redemption, and love. While we celebrate the reason for the season we can also learn from the biblical account of Christ’s birth. The Christmas story is full of leadership lessons. In this episode, I will look at four leadership lessons that we can learn from the Christmas story while at the same time being reminded of the real reason of the season: the coming of the Messiah Jesus Christ Immanuel (God with us) Also stay to the end for a Christmas Song “O Holy Night”

A lot of people think heroes are only found in TV shows or movies but that's not true, there are real heroes out there who inspire us every day with their actions.
And sometimes we need to take some time and examine who they are and what they do that makes them a hero and then take a look at ourselves and decide what we need to do to be more like them in our own lives.
So in this episode, I am going to start off with a description of what makes someone a hero and then we will discuss 7 things you can do to become a hero to others.

A humble leader is someone who knows that they are not perfect and makes an effort to be as open and transparent as possible. They take accountability for their mistakes, admit them when needed, and don't blame others. Humility also means being confident in your own abilities without feeling the need to prove it by putting others down or making yourself look better than you are.
In this episode, I am going to give you 6 key points to help you focus on becoming a more humble leader as well as 6 benefits from showing humility to those you lead.
Quotes from this episode:
Humility is not thinking less of yourself, it's thinking of yourself less. -C. S. Lewis
Pride makes us artificial and humility makes us real. -Thomas Merton
"Thank you" is the best prayer that anyone could say. I say that one a lot. Thank you expresses extreme gratitude, humility, understanding. -Alice Walker
The proud man can learn humility, but he will be proud of it. -Mignon McLaughlin
Pride must die in you, or nothing of heaven can live in you. Andrew Murray
Humility is nothing but truth, and pride is nothing but lying. St. Vincent de Paul

Every entrepreneur has a different story, but they all have one thing in common - hustle. There is no set path to success and every entrepreneur has their own journey with obstacles that they overcome on the way to being successful. In this episode, I will explore 6 habits of highly effective entrepreneurs that I have noticed and implemented into my own habits and how you can use these habits to be more productive as an entrepreneur.
Quotes from this episode:
“Successful people aren’t born that way. They become successful by establishing the habit of doing things unsuccessful people don’t like to do.” ―William Makepeace Thackeray
“Depending on what they are, our habits will either make us or break us. We become what we repeatedly do.” ―Sean Covey
“It is easier to prevent bad habits than to break them.” ―Benjamin Franklin
“If you are going to achieve excellence in big things, you develop the habit in little matters. Excellence is not an exception, it is a prevailing attitude.” ―Colin Powell
“If you pick the right small behavior and sequence it right, then you won’t have to motivate yourself to have it grow. It will just happen naturally, like a good seed planted in a good spot.” ―BJ Fogg

The society we live in today has become so reliant on constant entertainment, we need to learn how to enjoy boredom and use our minds. In this episode, I will discuss how we can relearn the art of being bored and be more mindful of our time.
I also give you my 7 Benefits of being present and letting yourself be bored that I have personally been experiencing.
And finally, I share some tips that I have been able to maximize during this time of being bored.
Quotes from this episode:
Neil Gaiman: “The best way to come up with new ideas is to get really bored.”
Steve Jobs: “I’m a big believer in boredom. Boredom allows one to indulge in curiosity, and out of curiosity comes everything.”
Peter Bregman: “Being bored is a precious thing, a state of mind we should pursue. Once boredom sets in, our minds begin to wander, looking for something exciting, something interesting to land on. And that’s where creativity arises.”
Scott Adams: “I’ve noticed that my best ideas always bubble up when the outside world fails in its primary job of frightening, wounding, or entertaining me.”
Joseph Brodsky: “Boredom is your window… Once this window opens, don’t try to shut it; on the contrary, throw it wide open.”
Albert Einstein: “Creativity is the residue of time wasted.”
Jon Jabat-Zinn "When you pay attention to boredom it gets unbelievably interesting."
Ralph Waldo Emerson: “Guard well your spare moments. They are like uncut diamonds. Discard them and their value will never be known. Improve them and they will become the brightest gems in a useful life.”

Nerds are often stereotyped as being the type of person that has no social skills, can't handle human contact, and is defined as odd according to social norms. But this isn't true at all! Nerds rule the world because they are brave enough to declare their love for something even if it's in front of complete strangers, and committed enough to build a following around what they love.
Originally NERD a derogatory term and was a stereotype, it has been reclaimed and redefined by some as a term of pride and group identity.
I also give you 6 ways that I think being defined as a NERD can help you in life.
Quotes from this episode:
“So you're a little weird? Work it! A little different? Own it! Better to be a nerd than one of the herd!” - Mandy Hale
“Everyone's a nerd inside. I don't care how cool you are.” - Channing Tatum
“If you like nerds, raise your hand. If you don't, raise your standards.” - Violet Haberdasher
“Be nice to nerds. Chances are you'll end up working for one.” - Bill Gates
“Nerds get caught up in details because there is a tremendous and fulfilling sense of control in understanding every single detail of a thing more than any other living creature.” - Chris Hardwick
“Nerd. One whose unbridled passion for something defines who they are as a person, without fear of other people's judgment.” - Zachary Levi
“In fact, the world needs more nerds.” - Ben Bernanke

“The first step in crafting the life you want is to get rid of everything you don’t.” ― Joshua Becker

How important is Leading by Serving in life? This episode focuses on changing your mindset from focusing on yourself to focusing on others and serving them.
Everybody can be great because everybody can serve. You don’t have to have a college degree to serve. You don’t have to make your subject and your verb agree to serve….You only need a heart full of grace, a soul generated by love.
—Martin Luther King, Jr.
I don’t know what your destiny will be, but one thing I do know: the only ones among you who will be really happy are those who have sought and found how to serve.
—Albert Schweitzer
Organizations exist to serve. Period. Leaders live to serve. Period.
—Tom Peters
True marketing starts…with the customer, his demographics, his realities, his needs, his values. It does not ask, “What do we want to sell?” It asks, “What does the customer want to buy?”
—Peter Drucker
