In a world of what seems to be never ending toxicity, a light shines through an original Netflix series entitled SWEET MAGNOLIAS.

One of the characters, a positive, kind-hearted soul named Trotter, brightens every scene he is in.

I was privileged enough to get the chance to talk to Hunter Burke, the actor behind the character, a man who could give Trotter's kind soul a run for its money.

I spoke with Hunter about his journey to becoming an actor and landing the role of Trotter, to the joy it is for him to bring this character to life, the hopes of where Trotter's journey could lead in future seasons, and the important of authentic storytelling.

This battle is one of many battles in a war that has been going on for seven seasons, this is its conclusion, and it was the most cathartic emotional experience from a television series, one even stronger than a particular endgame.

Every single kid dreams about becoming a superhero, and this dream finally comes true as the audience is able to live that experience vicariously via DC’s latest hero film release, SHAZAM!

DC films haven’t had the greatest luck, but with AQUAMAN being a surprise hit at the box office late last year, it seemed there was a light at the end of the tunnel.

With all the hype that’s surrounding Marvel’s first female super hero, it’s truly a shame that any form of proper criticism would be interpreted as sexist, or narrow-minded, especially since this is surely not constructive in any form nor would it lead to fruitful conversations regarding the industry.

With that in mind, CAPTAIN MARVEL doesn’t soar high enough to leave a memorable mark within audiences, though the narrative it presents will surely mark a change in the MCU.

When MAN OF STEEL first premiered, it’s safe to say it wasn’t met with a lot of positive feedback from fans .

With the recent DC announcements of rebranding, and taking the franchise in a possible new direction, I decided to give these films a second chance.

After finishing the MAN OF STEEL re-watch, here is my verdict: Zack Snyder’s film is the most accurate depiction of the hero that audiences have ever seen — a Superman that is struggling with his identity.

Stan Laurel and Oliver Hardy are widely regarded as the greatest comedy partnership in movie history: making over 107 films, and defining the notion of the double act with infectious chemistry and hilarious routines that seemed effortless but were honed down to the finest detail.

It’s really quite puzzling why it took Hollywood so long to honor the legendary duo, but STAN & OLLIE was definitely worth the wait.

At its surface this film might seem like the run of the mill, 8-Mile wannabe merged with a little bit of Step-Up, but contrary to this point of view, VS. shines on its own, dishing out a solid narrative with an engaging protagonist, and packs quite the punch with its overarching theme.

There is no doubt that following up THE LEGO MOVIE was going to be tough, but the sequel does what every good sequel should do, it tests its characters and forces them to grow into more mature, grittier, harder, and tougher versions of themselves.

For my first Character Study, I have chosen the character of Kylo Ren, from the Star Wars sequel trilogy. With the clock to the final film already counting down – I wanted to lay out a theory and an analysis about Darth Vader’s grandson, one that states that he, and not Rey, could be essentially the sequel trilogy’s true protagonist – and if you watch the sequel trilogy with that perspective – it can actually give you a much better viewing experience.
