Palms Trax joins LA Priest in remixing Erol Alkan's 'Automatic', the 100th Release on Phantasy Sound.
The landmark hundredth single on Phantasy, Erol Alkan’s ‘Automatic’ returns accompanied with two remixes that further take the London DJ and producer’s psychedelic club vision in distinct directions. The original 12" pressing, limited to 100 and hand-numbered, sold out in less than an hour.
Palms Trax builds on the sensual reverie of Alkan’s production with an electrifying rework full of touches both French and personal. Throwing out a gloriously chic bassline, the Berlin-based producer sprinkles carefully considered sweeps, stabs and filters on a trip to timeless house euphoria.

The first remix of Erol Alkan’s ‘Automatic’, the monumental 100th single on Phantasy, goes back to the beginning with a unique adaptation from LA Priest, out now digitally.
Initially the first artist to release on Phantasy upon its foundation in 2007, the former Late of The Pier member and DIY synth auteur strengthens this connection further with beguiling and typically indefinable reimagining of 'Automatic’s club energy, melting it’s french-touch into sticky cosmic bliss.

The landmark 100th single on Phantasy arrives courtesy of label founder, DJ and producer, Erol Alkan. Originally recorded less than a year after Phantasy’s inception in 2007, ‘Automatic’ arrives in 2021 to both celebrate and anticipate resurgent dance floor abandon, blending elements of French touch and disco psychedelia with driving, raw percussion, as charismatic and gloriously high-energy as anything from Alkan’s extensive back catalogue of productions and remixes.
‘Automatic’ is available to download and stream digitally, and will initially be available as a limited edition pressing of 100 single-sided vinyl, housed in a screen-printed sleeve with each copy individually hand-numbered by Alkan himself.

Originally written and produced as the centrepiece to his 2014 FabricLive compilation, Erol Alkan’s ‘Sub Conscious' arrives on 12” vinyl and to streaming platforms for the first time, accompanied by two charismatic remixes from Manfredas.
Shimmering and undulating, the original cut of ‘Sub Conscious’ was designed with Fabric’s cavernous main room in mind, taking full advantage of any finely-tuned soundsystem with a patient, rhythmic trip. Remastered here, the track evolves out of hazy darkness towards halcyon euphoria in a uniquely Alkan style.
Resident at Opium Club in Vilnius, cult DJ and producer Manfredas provides two hugely creative and alternative takes on ‘Sub Conscious’. The first works hallucinatory magic with a supple bassline and much of Alkan’s original stretched and repurposed around vampish oscillations and a westward vocal sample.
On the contrary, the ‘Stream Of Consciousness' mix sees Manfredas pitch down and strum the bones of ‘Sub Conscious’, unexpectedly delivering a lovingly lethargic, bottom-heavy jam that’s pure dubside pleasure.
