On Easter Sunday, we worship Jesus, the Resurrected Messiah, who defeated death to bring you life. You no longer have to be dead in your sins. You can have an abundant life in a Living Savior. You can have a secured hope for eternal life.

In our candle light service, we celebrated the birth of Jesus Christ, on that Holy Night 2,000 years ago. Pastor Luke shared how looking a candy cane can show how much Jesus loves you.

Pastor Luke preached about the angels appearing to a group of ordinary shepherds, to announce the birth of Jesus, the Savior. Shepherds were usually rejected socially and often rejected spiritually, but these shepherds experienced God's favor and His peace. The main idea was, "All people can experience the peace that Jesus brings."

Pastor Luke preached from James 3 about two types of wisdom: wisdom from above and earthly wisdom. The main idea was, "Wisdom from above doesn’t exalt those below."
Pastor Luke preached from James 2:14-26 about faith. Claiming faith doesn’t mean it’s saving faith. Faith without actions is dead and useless. The results of a saving faith are evident by actions. The main idea was, "Actions are the proof of genuine faith."
Our Evana Network Regional Pastor, Don Patterson, continued in our series from the book of James. He preached from the first half of chapter 2, as James addresses favoritism in the church.
Pastor Luke preached from the end of James 1 about being doers of God's Word. True faith humbly receives God's Word, continually obeys God's Word, and actively lives out God's Word. The main idea was, "How you live outside usually reveals what's inside."

Pastor Luke preached about how the Lord saved the Israelites from Egypt, in Exodus 13-15. The main idea was, "The Lord is the only One who delivers people from death."
Pastor Luke preached about God's power displayed in Egypt in the 10 Plagues, from Exodus 5-11. The main idea was, "God's power shows all people that He alone is to be worshiped."
Pastor Luke's message, from Exodus 3-4, was about Moses' interaction with our God who personally reveals His plans, His name, and His power. God equips people to accomplish His will in His name.
Pastor Luke began a new series called, "Excerpts from Exodus" with a message about God's faithfulness in Exodus 1-2. He said, "Our faithful God is working even when we don’t see it."
Pastor Luke preached the Gospel of Jesus as we celebrate our Risen Savior on Easter Sunday, by answering the questions: "Who is God?" "Who am I?" "How is Jesus unique?" What does it mean to follow Jesus?" and "Why is this important?"
In the fith Gospel thread, Pastor Luke shared about eternity, from the book "Gospel Threads." Hell is a place of continual rebellion and a final separation. Heaven is a place of Full Reconciliation, Complete Restoration, and an Ultimate Reunion. Our choice is: live without Christ now and die without Christ forever or die with Christ now and live with Christ forever.

Pastor Luke preached a message about what Jesus did to rescue us from our sin. Using David Platt's book "Gospel Threads" he said that Jesus lived the life we could not live, Jesus died the death we deserved to die, and Jesus conquered the enemy we cannot conquer.

The message from our youth and delegates, who went to Evana Network’s ReGen 2023, was from Romans 12:2 abouting being transformed.
Pastor Luke preached about Jesus being with us in the hard times. He said that dark valleys are certain to come. Fear vanishes when we sense the presence of our Shepherd. God’s presence gives us comfort.
Pastor Luke recapped what was talked about at Vacation Bible School this week; Jesus is holy, trustworthy, forgiving, worth following, and Jesus is for everyone!

Jimmy Cook preached out of John 4 today and he talked about the Samaritan woman. He talked about how Jesus can make a difference in our lives and the lives around us just like he made a difference in her life.
Happy Easter! Pastor Luke preached out of Luke 24 about Jesus' resurrection. He said we were dead in our sin, Jesus died for us, and now we are alive in Him!
Pastor Luke finished the sermon series, "The Lords Prayer" with the focus being on God and how it is all about Him. It's all about what He wants, who He is, and what He does; The kingdom is His, the glory is His, and the power is His.
Pastor Luke remained in the series, "The Lord's Prayer" and he preached about temptation. The Lord teaches us to pray for protection from temptation, pray for rescue from sin, and pray as the family of God.
Duane Eby continued in our sermon series, "The Lord's Prayer" and he talked about forgiveness. We have a huge debt that we can never pay back to God but we don't have to because he has taken all of it away by forgiving us!
Pastor Luke continued in the series, "Not About Me" focusing specifically on Matthew 6:10. The Lord teaches us to: Pray for God's Kingdom to come, pray for God's will to be done, and pray for God's reign everwhere.
Pastor Luke began a new series over the Lord's Prayer from Matthew 6. The Lord teaches us to: Pray together as children to our Father, Pray to our Father who is near, and Pray declaring who He is.
Today Matt Kreeb finished up the series, "Living Like You Believe It." He talked about stewardship and what it looks like to steward God's household. He said we get to participate in the birthing of God's reign and that the reign of God starts inside of us when we repent.
We continued in our sermon series, "Living Like You Believe It." Pastor Luke, along with some members of our Outreach Team, talked about mission. Pastor Luke said, "Our mission is to proclaim the good news of Jesus!"
Pastor Luke remained in the series, "Living Like You Believe It" and he preached about discipleship. He talked about how we should live fully surrendered to Him and how we can be doing that with other disciples.
Pastor Luke continued in the series with the focus being on scripture; that God's word is given through the Holy Spirit and it is completly trustworthy.

He said that imperfect Christians: live in God’s love (verses 13-16), let God’s love be perfected (verses 17-18), and love everyone with God’s love (verses 19-21).

If we know God: we believe the truth about Jesus (verses 1-3), we listen to the apostles’ witness (verses 4-6), and we experience his love and pass it on to others (verses 7-12).

He said if we claim to: Know Jesus, we show it by keeping His Words (verses 1-5), Abide in Jesus, we show it by living like Him (verses 6-8), and Be in the Light of Jesus, we show it by loving like Him (verses 9-11).

He said that Jesus desires intimacy and fellowship with his followers (verses 1-4), Jesus is light and He reveals sin (verses 5-8), and Jesus forgives and He cleanses us (verses 9-10).

He said that just like Paul: We tend to do what is best in our own eyes, (v 9-11) Jesus opens our eyes to a new perspective, (v 12-18) and our new mission is to open the eyes of others. (v 19-23)
Pastor Luke preached from Mark 8:17-30 saying that We see clearer when Jesus opens our eyes. He said that Jesus opens eyes physically (verses 22-26), Jesus opens eyes mentally (verses 27-30), and Jesus opens eyes spiritually (verses 17-22).
Pastor Luke preached that even when it doesn’t look like it, God’s ways are always good! He said that when we use hindsight we see that: God positioned Joseph to be a leader (Acts 7:9-10), God saved His people from the famine (Acts 7:11-15), and God works for the good of those who love Him (Genesis 50:18-21).
Pastor Luke preached from 2 Corinthians 4:16-18 where the main idea was, "We take heart because the eternal outweighs the temporal." His points included: Let’s take heart (verse 16), Let’s see what outweighs our problems (verse 17), and Let’s fix our eyes on what is unseen (verse 18).
Pastor Luke concluded the book of Proverbs by preaching from Proverbs 31:8-18. The main idea was, "Christ empowers us to boldly love, pursue His character and live out wisdom." His points were: Wisdom in Advocating for Justice (v 8-9), Wisdom in Admirable Character (v 10-12), and Wisdom in Action (v 13-18).
Pastor Luke preached from Proverbs 24:30-34. The main idea was "To avoid the fruit laziness we need to be diligent." He said that the fruit of a person who lacks diligence is: ruin, inactivity, and poverty.
Pastor Luke preached from Proverbs 20:5-12 where the main idea was "Wisdom’s legacy comes from living with love, leading with righteousness, and listening with Christ." He said that wisdom’s legacy comes from: Living with Love (v 5-6), Leading with Righteousness (v 7-9), and Listening with Christ (v 10-12).

He said that we should: Trust in the Lord with all our hearts (v 5-6), Fear the Lord by turning from our sin (v 7-8), Honor the Lord with our resources (v 9-10), and Know the Lord loves and corrects us (v 11-12).

He said that Our Good News: Christ has Risen (verses 1-6), Our Great Commission: Tell others about Christ (verses 7-8), and Our Godly Response: Worship and Obey Christ (verses 9-10).

The main idea was “As followers of the King, our hearts are for people and their needs.” Jesus ministry was marked by His: compassion for the crowd while grieving (verses 13-14), empowering his disciples through a crisis (verses 15-17), and thankfulness to the Father when the need was great (verses 18-21).
Pastor Luke shared from Matthew 4:1-11 about when Jesus was tempted by Satan. The main idea was “Testing reveals who we need, trust, and ultimately worship.” The first test reveals who we really need. (verses 3-4) The second test reveals who we fully trust. (verses 5-7) The third test reveals who we truly worship. (verses 8-10)
Pastor Luke shared about our current reality with the coronavirus (COVID-19), our current mindset, and our current witness. We need to have faith, not fear, practice the peace of Christ, not panic, and be wise and creative in how we help each other through this time of uncertainty, always pointing to the hope we have in Christ.
Pastor Luke's main idea from Genesis 44-45 was, "We reflect Christ by sacrificial leadership and gracious generosity." He said that the result of the Empire Strikes Back: Judah’s leadership led to his sacrificial offering (44:18-34), Joseph’s perspective led to his gracious generosity (45:1-11), and Jacob’s amazement led to his revived spirit (45:25-28).
Pastor Luke continued in the series, The Life of Joseph, preaching from Genesis 42-43. His main idea was, "Like Joseph, we pursue God’s design of holistically healthy families." He said that Joseph’s new hope was for: a physically reunited family (42:9-24), a spiritually repentant family (42:25-43:25), and a relationally restored family (43:26-34).
Pastor Luke continued in the series, The Life of Joseph, preaching from Genesis 41. His main idea was, "We live out our faith with wisdom and compassion, trusting God's timing." He said that with a golden opportunity, Joseph was: Confident in God (verses 13-16, 25), Careful with his gift (verses 28-40), and Compassionate to others (verses 46-49, 56-57).
