The Link is a creative collective and platform that supports and promotes artists in a range of interests in order to promote a creative community in the Kansas City area.
This week's episode is featuring Brittany Grissom, a talented animator at the Kansas City Art Institute who is currently working on her thesis film. Onnissia is a raw and unfiltered artist and poet that focuses on human aspect such as sexuality, self love and healing. We talk about her work, her inspirations and a few of the events she has coming up (ongoing art event at Likewise in Fayetteville, AR until mid-February. A pop-up art event Feb 16th, in celebration of Black History Month at the BWATTS photo studio in Springdale, AR. Today I met up with Amelia Greteman, a Fiber student at the Kansas City Institute who focuses on combining textiles, design and her printmaking background to create colorful furniture and compelling spaces. Roberto is a talented rapper/creative in KC. On top of making expressive music, he is a film maker, designer, artist and one of the founding members of Freelane: a unique creative collective of individuals who who to better one another. For The Link's first episode, we're featuring the incredible indie rock band that is taking over Kansas City: Kid Computer. I sat down with the members, George McMillian, Christian Sanchez, Matt Gore and Dalton Grenier and talked about how they got their start, struggles of becoming a band and more about the process of forming their group.
