We conclude our Evangelism series by discussing Chapter 5, focusing on the topic of perseverance in evangelism and ways to apply what we've been learning through this series over the unique summer season at hand.
This week, we discuss Chapter 4 of Evangelism, and discuss how we can be intentionally looking out for evangelistic opportunities personally and in our Cornerstone Communities.

Today we are discussing Chapter 2 of Evangelism, in which he lays the foundation for understanding a culture of evangelism. We zoom in on a few of the dozen different aspects of this culture that are particularly relevant for us as leaders.
This week we kick off our discussion of J Mack Stiles; book, Evangelism. We explore the simple definition to teach the gospel with the aim to persuade and lay the backdrop to our culture of evangelism.
Today, we wrap up our series on Mark Dever's book Discipling. We discuss chapter 10 and the conclusion, which focus on how we as leaders are to be on the lookout for new leaders and how we can invite them into our areas of responsibility.
Today we discuss Chapters 7, 8, and 9 of Discipling. We talk about two big questions: who we should disciple and one of the biggest perceived barriers: the time to disciple.
Today we discuss Ch 5 & 6 of Discipling, which describe the centrality of the local church every-member-ministry in caring for and discipling one another. We consider the culture of discipleship at DCC and the challenges of our transient urban context.
This week we discuss the aspects of discipling - initiating, teaching, correcting, modeling, and loving with humility - and apply this to our context in DCC. We also discuss some objections and responses around discipling.
This week we kick off our discussion of Mark Dever's book, Discipling. We discuss the general definition and the motivations of love and obedience to Christ's commands, which we apply to our community leadership in DCC.
Concluding CJ Mahaney's Humility we talk about Chapter 12 and the nature of our leadership by example for our families and communities, and continuing to embed practices of humility in our daily lives.
Chapters 10 & 11 of CJ Mahaney's Humility cover some of our least favorite things: being wrong and suffering. Yet, we see that these are areas that God uses to teach us depend on him and not ourselves.
This week we discuss chapters 8 & 9 of CJ Mahaney's Humility, which are both about seeing God's work in others. We talk about how this can shape our community life and some ideas on how to build this into the culture of our communities.
This week we continue working through CJ Mahaney's Humility, covering chapters 5, 6, and 7, which get practical in the ways we walk humbly with God. We talk about implementing these practices and the nature of how we lead by example.
We continue this week in chapters 3 and 4. We talk about the nature of God's transforming work in our lives through the cross, and consider the question of "What our lives would look like had God not graciously saved us as he did?"
This is the first in a new series with CJ Mahaney's Humility, covering here the first two chapters and their application for us as leaders in community. We review the definitions provided and explore the applications of honesty in our own hearts.
At the end of the Transformed sermon series, we discuss some of the applications for our communities as we seek to cultivate a culture of caring for one another. Drawing from Galatians 5&6 we unpack more of what this care can look like in our communities.
Chapter 7 reflects on the power, courage, and love of Christ which move us to faithful dependence on God. These themes are seen in our relationships with one another in community, as well as being essential as we pursue meaningful change.
Today, we discuss the expectations for us as a church as we share in life together and seek to faithfully proclaim the gospel, and seek to discern the difference between offenses felt by and against us.
We encounter the important question of whether or not we're working according to our own culture and strength, or are we walking according the a gospel culture and God's strength. We talk briefly about what that looks like in caring for our communities.
Today, we discuss the nature of our communities as fundamentally different from the world. Ephesians 3 tells us that how we love one another displays the manifold wisdom of God, and so we talk briefly about how we pursue being this new kind of community.
In this session, we discuss two additional aspects of our new corporate identity - the eternally reality of our salvation as God's people in heaven, and how the hope that comes from this future state in heaven shapes how we live now.
Continuing our series, we discuss the nature of our new corporate identity as a family and how we can cultivate that sense of family in community. We also discuss the Word of God as the means through which God cleanses and sanctifies us.
The first episode of this this series, based on the "The Gospel: How the Church Portrays the Beauty of Christ," covers the introduction and 1st chapter. We discuss the impetus for the series and the application for us as leaders.
