I started making this piece with the intention of it being a set of songs that could stand on their own as well as being an open collaboration, but then it took on a life of its own, and things just got out of hand from there, lol! But I still managed to control myself and didn’t add too many samples though, haha! I was listening to 1985 and 1986 hip hop singles when making this so….You can download this for free as well as some of the unmixed stems on Bandcamp. The lyrics can also be found on Bandcamp since SC didn’t provide enough space in the song info. I reached my description limit!Feel free to treat it as an open collaboration if you like. The song list, BPMs, and time signatures are listed below. I always wanted to make a sonic companion to the last song Bitzone, Frawstakwa, and I made together, “What Difference Does It Make.” I finally got my chance. This one came together real fast. Bitzone sent me a raw beat, I asked Frawstakwa to kick it off, and then I made some arrangement adjustments and laid down my lyrics and vocals based on Frawstakwa’s. Bitzone then finished it up and bada-boom, gotta move, gotta shake!Massive thanks to Frawstakwa for bringing the fresh ideas and original verse and chorus vocals. And big thanks to Bitzone for always make the tracks more vivid than I could imagine. May there always be at least a little time to bounce in your week! This is the latest song from the album Wou-Wou & the Wormling, Stricknice, Bitzone, and I have been working on. Like all the rest of the songs in the set, this one began during the start of the pandemic and reflects the changes in political perspective that were happening in society, and continue to this day. And, as with the other songs, I started this song with an unreleased demo from Wou-Wou and created a 1 minute outline which I then often passed on to a guest collaborator. When it came time to fully work on the track, I expanded on the original idea, along with the guest collaborator stems, until a full song was arranged. I then passed the bones and organs of the song to Stricknice and Bitzone to add any additional muscles and flesh they believed in until it was finished. I am so blessed to work with Wou-Wou, Bitzone, Stricknice, and all the guest collaborators on this inspired set, that one day will be complete. May everyone find something authentic to themselves to believe in.Track Credits:Mayor of Donutville: Synths, Chimes, Vocals@mayor-of-donutvillehttps://mayorofdonutville.bandcamp.comStricknice: Guitars, Reverse Guitars@j-nice-6Bitzone: Bass, Drums, Keys, Vocals, Mix, and Master@bitzonewww.bitzones.netWou-Wou & the Wormling: Guitar, Synths, Original Demo Track, Song Art@wouwouandthewormlinghttps://wouwouandthewormling.bandcamp.comwww.youtube.com/channel/UCy0rEOgxbaIcWbZZuxAKVmAthe Couch King: Lyrics, Vocals, Arrangement, Productionhttps://musiciselation.bandcamp.comLyrics:Looking for a new dayLooking for a new way to prayLooking for a new way to sayI need something to believe inWaiting for the next seasonWaiting for a better reasonWaiting for some cohesionsIn my something to believe inSearching for another chapterSearching for another answerSearching for the here afterTo give me something to believe inOh oh lordYou’re no moreThe savior ohPraying for a true signPraying for not to resignPraying that any divineHas something for me to believe inBeen out there but it’s freezingBeen out there but it’s displeasingBeen out there now releasingMy reason for something to believe inThere’s nothing in the wind speakingThere’s nothing in the house creakingThere’s nothing for the sinned seekingFor there’s nothing left to believe inOh oh lordYou’re no moreThe savior ohOh oh lordYou’re no moreThe savior ohReborn but stillStill worn out for realForlorn with no goodwillForgotten like landfillDiscarded until rottenDowntrodden turned to God andAbandoned I turn toThe concerns of the spurned fewTrue or is it not trueIt is what we’ve been throughWhen all has been lost toThose others who sin tooGrew up with a promiseNow there’s thieves up upon usAsking who can we turn toTo return to us what’s dueI shouted but nobodyListened I doubtedAnd then somebody heardJust wanted to be devotedSo a savior got stirredFor a favor his wordWith our promise to help turnThe truth to be blurredWhen will there be a new leaderWhen will there be a new preacherWhen will there be my saviorTo tell me what I should believe inLooking for a new dayLooking for a new way to prayLooking for a new way to sayI need something to believe inOh oh lordYou’re no moreThe savior oh

This is the lead track from the set of songs that I began with Wou-Wou & the Wormling during the start of the turmoil and chaos brought upon by the pandemic. This is also the first part of four tracks within the album directly based on Wou-Wou’s comic, The Shrike. It has been incredible working with Bitzone and Stricknice throughout the project as well. It is always cool when the everyone in the stag heard works well togehter and brings distinct yet complimentary ideas to the mix. Big thanks also to Weighty Tree for introducing his groovy style of neopsychedelica to the rut! Nature has a way of quickly shaking off the traumas of the past and returning to its most basic of desires. You see, all of life yearns to mate and procreate, and while most that experience defeat from the stronger or rejection from those seeking the fitter, muster the determination to get back up again, some take their spurning to heart, as if they were more deserving than nature intended, where it festers and begins to grow a new grotesque life of its own. VerseWord YoAs antlers crashed with the desperation of lust And the scent of musk in the airI couldn’t help but take notice thereWas a sweet smell of autumn Carried in the gust Of wind It is a beautiful time of the yearWhen the does come into estrus And there is only one thing on my mindI must get some of that behind I findTimes like these to be harbingers That lingerI could count times like these on my fingersIf I didn’t have hooves And wasn’t crashing to the ground With the sound of defeated dreams Of games of hard to getAnd multiple days of getting wet I let the overwhelming excitement of rutGet the best of me And now am crest fallen to seeThe Doe that I thought was mineWalk away with the buck that brought me down to the twinesUh

Gary, of Mountain Songs (https://soundcloud.com/mountain-songs)contacted me about 2 years ago and offered me a baseline stem from an Alpha Roots collaboration he was working on with Joerxworx. About 2 years ago, that is crazy! I, of course, said I would take the stem. I needed to finish some other songs that were in the works before getting to play with Alpha Roots’s baseline. By the time I was ready to connect with the vibe, Russia had invaded Ukraine, unfathomable tragedy had begun, and the world was changing again. My song writing reflected the horror of what was going on. By the time all the stems were gathered, vocals were recorded, and the song was mixed and mastered, another war had broken out and the horror continued. Massive thanks to Mountain Songs for trusting me with these blessed Alpha Roots stems. So glad Jamie, Jonathan, Joerxworx, and Russ got a chance to work with Alpha Roots again. Alpha Roots lives on. And the song is ready just in time for Halloween! I can't believe how fast time has passed and how long we have been working on this project. 4 songs from the album are based on a graphic novel that Wou-Wou had started before the pandemic began. The rest of the songs are reflections of the weird times we were living in.Big thanks to Wou Wou, Bit-zone, and Stricknice for still being here after all these years. I have known and worked with people on SoundCloud probably longer than I have known high school friends, college friends, and friends from various jobs. Huge thanks to Guitar Wizards of the Future. Original Instrumental: Monkey Partshttps://soundcloud.com/jon-lock-5/monkey-parts?si=61629b52ae274a50973e16cbac15ddbc&utm_source=clipboard&utm_medium=text&utm_campaign=social_sharingJon shared “Monkey Parts” with me while we were discussing an unreleased track we were working on. Jon’s original track instantly inspired me and the lyrics easily flowed onto the paper (actually I write all my lyrics in Apple Notes, lol) and then into GarageBand (using my Apple headphone mic to everyone who mixes my vocals exasperation). I held onto the unmixed track for a while (really for no good reason besides it wasn’t in the stars’ plan until now) and then finally worked up the urge to “git er done.” As for the lyrics, the last time I had anything weed related was probably 11 years ago in California. At that time, all things marijuana were relatively easy to acquire since many of my friends had “doctor’s notes” to go to the medical dispensaries. It was fun to try all the new novel dope products people were making and selling. Since living in Oregon, for over 6 years now, I have not once thought about partaking in the herb, even though I can easily walk several cannabis stores from my home. I think there are more pot stores in the Portland area than convenient stores, I do not live in a reefer desert, lol. But still, I was inspired to write a song about maryjane. Bubbly Jock / Jabberjockey

Enjoy the Bubbly Jock / Jabberjockey music video on YouTube created by burn.it.smith here: https://youtu.be/dbK4fOKc-rM

I am so happy that burn.it.smith reach out and asked if I wanted to get creative with his original song, “Bubbly Jock,” and invite whoever I wanted to join in. burn.it.smith’s hip hop jazz fusion track instantly inspired and the band was obvious. All the pieces came together real nice for this “old school” jazz hip hop SoundCloud extravaganza. I hope you all enjoy!!!

And big thanks to Russ for the zaney art. Look closely and you will see lots of humorous details.

Lyrics:

burn.it.smith: Babbling away like a bubbly jock
 Poking the bogey, talking tommyrot
All my eyes and Betty Martin
It just never stops I said Be-Bop-A-Lula
 You know what?
I had enough

the Couch King: Beware oh my Felleeow frumious blimpyish fluemes I Decry oh why thy Manxome mimsyish foes who gimble through try To snicker snack with a pack of galumphying slacks Who lack burbling whiffling eyes of flame Don’t they know they should go gyring back with their Sacks to rath about where they came With their vorpal swords hanging towards the floors We restore our honor from the Uffish wars As we rath outgrabe with displayed furmious frayed jaw displayed let’s go Jabberjockay

burn.it.smith: It’s a blathering Gathering Put your hat in And start jabbering Clamouring! What’s happening
Lucille?

I got the Tommyrot on top
 The rot because the Jabbberwock

This is the 6th song posted from the album I started using demo tracks given to me by Wou-Wou & the Wormling during the start of the pandemic! This song was inspired by the mass shootings that plague the United States and the lack of progress this society and government makes toward increasing the safety and well being of all. I was recently surprised by an article in support of the “good guy with a gun” solution in a mainstream liberal news article. It’s basically the wild wild west out here still, lol.

Big thanks to Wou Wou, Bit-zone, and Stricknice for sticking with me through this long project and being an awesome group to work with. And big thanks to The Magnetic Dog Sisters for working with me on this second track. I love their fresh experimental sound!

Lyrics:

It’s true, dreams get shattered on a daily basis You can see the disappointment on the multitudes faces And on this occasion, even though I was sent to the ground I try to be gracious As I watch the hind from behind, I plot how I’m still going to taste this Facts, I ain’t going to lie Each time I try to sneak by the stag into his harem, I feel like I am less of a guy I don’t know why I am always living in comparison Stuck in this seasonal competition At the same time living in fear of becoming venison The life of an unfettered stag should be one of rugged individualism Yet here I am, alone and disappointed by my under actualized freedom, it’s embarrassing I walk alone once again and hear the birds singing Try to let go of these dark thoughts that I’ve been thinking It’s just me and this cool stream from which I’m drinking The last thing I noticed was my ear ringing

I should have been running I should have had fear Its clear that deaths near so you always Better beware I would have stared down that bullet If I knew it was my time Look my maker in the eye As I’m about to die Just as I was hitting my prime With a fully aligned spine And a F.U. on my mind I would spit my cud on the ground And I would bellow out a sound For the millions of lost deer to the round Bullets of men, the scourge of the earth

I am so blessed that Evelyn reached out to me to work on another song together. Evelyn and I made some classics on my page including:

I am so glad that making music has maintained our friendship and kept us together. Some people maintain friendships through going out to eat, watching sporting events, doing family things together, etc. I make music with my friends.

Thanks to Russ and Jon for being my musical friends as well. Jon is so awesome, I can say, let's try making a late 60’s psychedelic cumbia inspired track, and he can then say, sure! And Russ is always down for the ride, thanks for taking over the wheel while we trip on some shrooms, lol!

Wow, this is the 5th song posted from the album I started using demo tracks given to me by Wou-Wou & the Wormling during the start of the pandemic! This song was inspired by the conservative agenda, which at the time was more noticeably gaining momentum, to systematically whittle away and block the rights of those groups that did’t align with their values. The conservative agenda continues to gain strength, and it is up to the people to support each other in maintaining and advancing rights (including those of groups one is not a part of).

It has been a great pleasure working with Stricknice, Bitzone, and Wou-Wou on these tracks. We are blessed by all the support the SoundCloud community has given to our releases. We can’t wait to share more music with you all.

I haven't done a more straight up hip hop song in ages!

Lyrics:

Hit the streets likes it’s a brand new day Pound the pavement for the payment Of knowing I slay Say hey to all my homies around my way Say hey to all the folks just trying to get paid What up party people dying to get laid Let you freak flag fly high up and away Pray to allah Pray to Jesus Get all Polytheistic if it pleases Go to college and write a thesis Couch surf around the globe and sleep on beaches Who needs meat when we got peaches Who needs warfarin when we got leeches Use yo magic to cure diseases Go help somebody with yo expertises Take a stand against injusticeses And don’t give a damn if no one agrees with

You won’t see eye to eye with You Isn’t able to fully accept You doesn’t want to believe in You Be real to your-self and stay true

Word You know we still fighting To open minds to new perspectives And hearts to other ways of being
And that’s for real Yo

Who you got a problem with What you try to solve it with Why you got that solid fist When now’s the time to Listen go out and try something Different see what chu mighta been Missin’ dismissin’ Omittin’ what wasn’t Fittin’ Your world view Let go of what you knew so You can become a new you Discover what’s now true To hold onto your values And speak your truth and stay for real While holdin’ space for others to feel What they gonna feel and what they says their truth But if it falls to pieces and their beliefs lead to more injusticeses Then don’t give a damn if no one agrees with

You won’t see eye to eye with You Isn’t able to fully accept You doesn’t want to believe in You Be real to your-self and stay true

Yea That right This one goes out to all those leading the fight In the struggle on the day to day Word

Lyrics:

Time trials And I’m still miles Away Off course Of course I’m Falling off The track and This time I ain’t coming back

Always Starting in last Place All days Speedily passed I race To catch up but I can’t keep pace I chase A taste of what it’s like to get a head Instead Led off course by centrifugal force Falling off the edge Again it’s got me feeling Better off Dead When reeling From being made to Head Back on track From the invisible hand Never giving me slack As the power ups stack Bullet bills speed boosting up to the pack Yet still producing the deducing 16th place I can’t crack

Time trials And I’m still miles Away Off course Of course I’m Falling off The track and This time I ain’t coming back

Never Finishing in first Or third However Quickly I burst Or swerved Past peels or fake item Box a hazards Still out maneuvered and Staggered Disoriented wheels don’t Matter When I Can’t get a Grip As the Realization Of the final lap Lets the cup Slip From hopes Final dash I crash Afraid to hit the gas Hidden shortcuts and cheat codes Not given Even if I was to play the villain Driven There’s no opportunity to surpass When my previous finishing position Was coming in Last

Time trials And I’m still miles Away Off course Of course I’m Falling off The track and This time I ain’t coming back

13th place Thought I was in the chase 14th place Slippin’ but thinking keepin’ pace 15th place And still got one in the rear view mirror 16th place Wasn’t a fall from grace is getting clearer

This is the 4th song posted from the album I started using demo tracks given to me by Wou-Wou & the Wormling during the start of the pandemic when I had extra time due to society closing down. This song was inspired by Black Lives Matter and my own experiences with the police growing up in the California East Bay Area in the 80s.

It has been an incredible opportunity working with Wou-Wou, Stricknice, and Bitzone on this album. I feel like we have a realized sound and vision for the overall style of the album. It is exciting to know that we have many more tracks ready to be released.

Massive thanks to RUIZZOIDMAN (E-Ruizzo) for joining us on Cruising Through. RUIZZOIDMAN has massively contributed to the positive vibes and individual creative spirit that defines our SoundCloud community. This is the second track I have had the honor of RUIZZOIDMAN joining in on. Big ups RUIZZOIDMAN!!!

Lyrics:

Hey I caught you sniffing Get off my tail What you think you sniffing Get off my tail Hey I see you sniffing Get off my tail What you think your sniffing

Is it the neighborhood I’m cruising through Is it cause I’m rolling deep with my crew Is it cause I don’t ever trust you Is it your suspicious of me

Hey I caught you sniffing What you think you sniffing Hey I see you sniffing What you think your sniffing

Is it your suspicious of me

Still feeling shamed I reclaim that part of me you took With looks of disdain as I refrained afraid to get booked For nothing I shook from your tree In fact it probably be My inherited fruit first That now you attempt to hoard in force In tradition with your legacy of scarcity But my ancestral fraternity is inherently abundant There’s nothing to defund from it Word

Yea, that’s what I’m talkin’ about

This is the neighborhood I’m cruising through This is my neighborhood and I’m cruising through This is our neighborhood and we goin’ cruise through

This is the third song posted from the album Bitzone, Stricknice, Wou-Wou & the Wormling, and I have been working on together with a number of other friends on SoundCloud. The first song shared was the late 80s indie American underground inspired song, Ghosting Out, that include Bonetender joining with his transistor organ and guitar. The second song released was late 90s inspired Alternative Rock and Hip Hop song The Show / The Shrike Pt. 3 with Carlos Vivanco and Belial Pelegrim joining in the mix.

All of the songs were written during the beginning of the COVID-19 Pandemic when the United States went into lockdown and Black Lives Matter protests where having a major impact. I think you can especially hear the influence of those times in this song.

I am honored that My Hot Air Balloon accepted my invitation to join this track and that Eddie Shook was willing to add a radio spot into the mix. It is always a pleasure to work with the extremely talented Jonathan Beckenstein and Jamie Rhind. And huge thanks to Bitzone and Stricknice for adding so much creativity and music to this entire project! And as always, Wou-Wou rocks! I have made so much music with Wou-Wou over the years, it is incredible!

Lyrics: I'm so tired of waiting at the edge of the world

They say the world is spinning ball But you know It’s always been flat to me I still say the sun circles the globe But uh No one ever listens to me

When I tell ‘em World’s coming to an end When I’m yellin’ Better make your amends When Gods callin’ They say the good shall ascend But uh We’ll just have to wait and see

I'm so tired of waiting at the edge of the world

Gotta love God ’n liberty But Hey Don’t you dare tread on me Don’t say I never warned you now But uh No one ever listens to me

When I tell ‘em World’s coming to an end When I’m yellin’ Better make your amends When Gods callin’ They say the good shall ascend But uh We’ll just have to wait and see

Massive thanks to Russell Sinfield for spending hours and hours mixing and mastering this EP, especially since he originally thought he was only mixing one song, lol! And thanks to taRka, Arkestar, Joerxworx, Bitzone, and Alex for all the inspiration, creativity, and energy you added to this track. You all made this track what it is!

I grew up on hip hop and have always been a hip hop musician first. Hip hop (and lo-fi indie rock) is the lens through which I always first approach making a song. After spending years listening to the music of our SoundCloud community, everyone's music has found a deep place in my heart. I believe that when hip hop artists first began sampling funk tracks in the 80s, it was out of love and respect for the music they grew up with and identified with. I now sample the music of my SoundCloud collaborators and friends to make new songs from those that I love. Tony Turn Around is a celebration of that process. It is a representation of the joy of sampling and the delight of playing around with cool sounds from musicians you respect and admire. I hope you all continue to enjoy what we have created as a community here on SoundCloud and Bandcamp!

This project is dedicated to the development of a more conscious, equitable, harmonious alternative to the destructive imperialist colonial neo-liberal capitalist consumer societies in power.

The first song shared was the late 80s indie American underground inspired song, Ghosting Out, that include Bonetender joining with his transistor organ and guitar. The Show / The Shrike Pt. 3 is one of the 4 songs on the album inspired by Wou-Wou & the Wormling’s graphic novel, the Shrike, which inspired this project.

Massive thanks to Carlos Vivanco and Belial Pelegrim for joining us on this track. This is the 2nd song Belial has joined me on and the first song I have had the privilege of working with Carlos on. Lyrics: Slowly the room will fill with smoke Mirrors help occupy the hoax Laughing when no one gets the joke Millions waiting for the quote Tell me what would you do for fame How do you plan to win the game Can you fit in the mould they make If I asked would you scream my name For the show

Simon says I will take the lead Stick with me and you will succeed Come and get it come and chase this dream All you need is a sob story Like a moth to a flame so bright Your a slave to the stark spotlight Cheshire cat with her teeth so white Tune in and see it all tonight In the show

In the show

Later that evening as smoke from the chimney was pelted by the rain Slain and dismembered my head fully severed and mounted and displayed It’s hard to explain I’m awake with no pain and hallowed out in the brain I wouldn’t complain, a life that’s mundane, is all I could hope to attain except i was detained by bird with a man and this is what he was saying

Are you having me on?

In the show

You are out all day and this sorry excuse is all that you bring back? This second rate stag you decided to bag isn’t worthy of a plaque Did I make my self clear I can’t tell from your sneer are we still on same track Our collection is nearly complete I conceit but there is only one thing that we lack

One human head One human head Don’t disappoint me now In the show You’re a freak, an animal and most importantly a killer You’re a freak, an animal and most importantly a killer A killer A killer A killer

This is the 3rd song Bitzone, Frawstakwa, and I have worked on together for my CKP page. I wanted this latest track to continue with the electronic hip hop vibe we had established with our previous two tracks. Bitzone dug into his rich production archive and found a beat 10 years deep that met the criteria. This time I sent the track first to Frawstakwa to switch things up, since the last two songs I had started off. Frawstakwa came up with these deep metaphysical lyrics and I added a literal interpretation that I hoped would complement his meaning while keeping in theme with the previous two tracks. Bitzone then worked his magic and transformed the track into an electronic hip hop rock fusion. And then for a final surprise, he asked Joerxworx to join in with some futuristic EWI. In the end, I like that this track is different from It Ain’t Looking Good and Trendsetting and I think it points at a possible new direction for the next track we all work on together.

Thank you for all your listenings, comments, playlists, radio spins, and purchases. The musical team is eternally grateful.

Oh, this is just great  Yo, gimme a break  No, Freudian slip made So, it’s no mistake Go, psycho analyze it  Though, am I insane In the membrane Or normal It’s weird right? We’re here but so briefly Mere mortals Appears our fate is foretold How unfortunate  Of course there’s this Who says we have to forfeit free will Forget about it We are forward thinkers  And forces of nature Scratch that - supernatural Look at how we have grown And evolved Lets explore What’s beyond What is known  And accepted by all Be omnidirectional  Slow, in the fast lane  Flow, like a mixtape For, goodness sake Over and over again Face total Loss of control Lack of faith Don’t trip though Effects cause vertigo Catch wreck, let ‘em know Fact check, general  Search, research Both the world and the earth First you learn Then you teach Art and culture To reach out and touch  All of the people Them, no doubt indeed

What difference does it make If at any given rate The only thing that matters in the end is too late

What difference does it make If at any given rate, yo!

Have you ever felt alone In a place so dark, so vast, so cold

Everyday I pass by The same lame busted gate The same Boarded up broken windows and Old rusted grates The same Overflowing trash cans continue to accumulate with a ever-growing stench that won’t abate It’s the same Neighborhood cats talking smack on da crates It’s the same Families falling flat with not enough food on their plates I’m passin’ by the same Kids in baseball hats standing wet in wait Out there gettin’ rained on cause the bus is running late It straight Hasn’t changed at all What difference does it make I’m still awake at dawn Exerting on Getting my debt rate gone Word is born What difference does it make Cause pass generations gone Still couldn’t pass it on What difference does it make

What difference does it make  If at any given rate Things just stay the same

What difference does it make  If at any given rate We keep on playing games

What difference does it make  If at any given rate There really isn’t even anything else left for me to say

DeeP. and the Couch King EP collectable stickers and zine available on Bandcamp here: https://musiciselation.bandcamp.com/album/deep-and-the-couch-king

This is the 3rd original song that DeeP. and I worked on together. I really appreciate his experimental yet accessible dark and soulful production work. I like how his music allows me to touch on topics that I normally wouldn’t write about if I were leading the music production. I have been reflecting on how it is important to stretch and grow and try new things. DeeP.’s music really helps me to achieve this goal and his mixing and mastering really brings out the best in me.

I wanted this song to fit in thematically with the other 2 songs we worked on but I felt the music wanted me to expand the range of subject matter. Therefore, I went gothic and took my cues from gothic literature, such as The Castle of Otranto and Frankenstein, and tried to channel those literary elements into a pop song. For the subject matter I was also reflecting on how psychic connections and empathy can be draining unless one develops and maintains skills to remain grounded and whole.

It is so fun to make music with musicians one admires. SoundCloud is the best place to be a fan. Both Phil McWalter and Nathalie B20 are SoundCloud legends and incredibly talented and prolific musicians who I have listened to for years now. I feel super honored to have finally gotten the chance to make music with these giants. I hope they had fun as well!!!

Lyrics

I’m loosing my self You’re sucking me out I was having my doubts But you casted them out Now I’m devout without will to walkout Somehow you got me

Every time I think a you I get linked up with you And then I’m tangled up in your mind Can’t go a week with you Before I think were through Because I’m going straight out of my mind Try not to let it Don’t let it Get to me Your consuming all my energy Don’t call me gothic Though I believe I got bit You sucked all the life outta me

How naive was I to begin with Thin skinned and an optimist Going all in a romanticist Fool hearted on destiny’s myth Still in the grips of youthful bliss You knew I could be possessed by just one kiss Cupid’s potion’s in spit Oh how I wished I could take just one more sip One more hit All the more craved by the way you withheld it Blood from bit lips Lust in wet drips Pulsating of molded hips Through the veil of lunar eclipse There’s a pirate on one of those passing ships

Entangled in your clutches of guilt Such is the life anguish built Enchanted to hear the lilt of your final Siren song once again There’s a little death in your bite of venom Pandora’s box in your denim The sting of lies that become truths if you let ‘em Any wrongdoings you sleuth I can never forget ‘em Bound to my faults Wounds ’n deep salts Trapped in this waltz Every step out of time You’re makin’ sure I regret ‘em Through the veil of lunar eclipse You cast your net and I got caught in ’em

Thanks for indulging my weird ideas Bitzone, you are the best!

This song is part of an LP of 12 songs that I made with Stricknice, Bitzone, and Wou-Wou & The Wormling (and many other friends who you all know on SoundCloud) from a massive set of demo tracks that Wou-Wou graciously passed on to me. Basically, this LP worth of songs was an early pandemic gift cause I had a little extra time on my hands to make music! I was originally going to release all the songs in one long track but one of my muses kept telling me to release this song on its own and I eventually succumbed to her wishes. I am massively grateful for all the work Stricknice, Bitzone, and Wou-Wou put into this big project. There may be more songs from this project that trickle out before the whole set is released. It was super cool to finally work with Bontender on a song. I have been a big fan of his indie rock sound for a long time. Bonetender rocks!!!

This song goes out to all the loners, weirdoes, freaks, and geeks out there. Who cares what society wants you to be. Be yourself and you just do you! There are plenty of normal people in the world already.

Lyrics

Watching you out the corner of my eye Memorize your schedule to pass by Feeling your energy get closer to intensify Don’t think I’m a creep I’m really a nice guy

Why can’t I just walk up and say hi I’d rather watch you from the wall like a fly

Ghosting out of my Generation

Watching you out the corner of my eye Seeing you finally here to pass by Inhale your scent to remember I retry Don’t want to think I’m a creep so I lie

Why can’t I just walk up and say hi I’d rather stay up against the wall like a fly

Ghosting out of my Generation

Watching you out the corner of my eye Waiting all day for you to pass by Feeling you brush against me I electrify Don’t think I’m a creep I’m really a nice guy

Why can’t I just walk up and say hi I’d rather watch you from the wall like a fly

Ghosting out of my Generation Castration Nation

I have a lot of faith that people can be strong enough to recognize where they have done (or are doing) harm and make sincere amends. I also believe that people have the power to heal and forgive wrong doings. It takes great strength to walk together through the fire of our pains and come out the other end holding hands, recognizing and honoring our differences while acknowledging and celebrating our similarities.

May everyone get a chance to break bread together, enjoy some wine, and share some laughs.

Thanks again to Calebass, Jon, and Janine for joining me together on a 3rd track. We make a great team! It was really fantastic to have Chris O and Belial Pelegrim finally join a track on my page. Chris O and Belial are two SoundCloud legends in my opinion. I am so grateful to be making music with all my favorite people. If only I had more time to make music with all of my favorites on the cloud. Who knows, maybe I do!

And massive thanks to Russ and the Chaos Cookhouse for baking my bread in their oven once again. If it wasn’t for them, I would only be serving balls of dough.

Lyrics:

A rising hurricane blowing out the old I feel it’s heading my way Yes, a rising hurricane, heading my way A rising hurricane blowing out the old I just feel it’s blowing this way

The wind blows wicked by my side of the street

It’s heading my way

You better blow that away

We hunkered down for the storm breaks Sat by the heath till our bones ached Kept those embers burning for what’s at stake Canned those apples for a future bake When we can walk across the street And give a hand shake To our neighbors where the wind don’t take A life’s time just to make up for Past time’s big mistakes

Well rise-up hurricane and blow out the old Trade them for a mighty dawn

The wind blows wicked by my side of the street

Push aside the night shades to break a deal Trade them for a mighty dawn

Even though things still ain’t right We got deep history still within sight And at times things can be downright Enough to incite our outright Deepest ugliest version of contrite I still cling tight To that hope for that bright light That one day things will be made right But it ain’t gonna be if we just hang tight Word

The wind blows wicked by my side of the street

A rising hurricane blowing out the old I just feel, it’s a-heading our way Push aside the night shades Break another deal Trade them for a mighty dawn

It sure seems there's always malice in the palace. Either you’re in the palace causing malice or you’re trying to stop the malice. In both cases there's still malice in the palace. As subjects, we have to live with that malice, so get out and vote. And if voting doesn’t make a difference, get out there and storm the palace, but only for a cause I believe in, lol.

I love roots reggae and am stuck in the period between '68 and '82. Don’t get me wrong, ska is great, and I lump rocksteady into my preferred period of reggae. And I am not saying I don’t appreciate later periods of reggae and dancehall. I did enjoy the 90s dancehall that often went along with golden era hip hop. But I will always like 70s roots reggae best. I must be old.

Thanks SoundCloud friends for making roots reggae with me and helping me LARP my musical fantasies. You're all the best! May everyone live out their rock star dreams.

Trodding in this world of inequity People dying in the city Kings in palaces show no pity There’s malice in the palace There’s malice in the palace Queen Majesty let’s lick up the chalice I wanna hear I wanna hear what you can tell us And don’t you try to quell us Or we’ll be storming up the citadel, yes! You’ve got to be pure of heart and pure mind Cause blessed are the pure in heart So you’ve got to live clean If you know what I mean There’s malice in the palace We’re storming the citadel, yes! And in the end, the last shall be first, and the first last For many shall be called, but few shall be chosen Trodding in this world of inequity People are dying in the city And kings in palaces dem show no pity There’s malice in the palace There’s malice in the palace Queen Majesty let’s lick up the chalice I wanna hear I wanna hear what you can tell us So whoever knows the right thing to do and fails to do it For him it is sin And that is the way of the righteous For the path may be rocky But the conscious can remain clean If you know what I mean There’s malice in the palace And we’re storming the citadel, yes! For many are called, but few are chosen There’s malice in the palace There’s malice in the palace, Queen Majesty let’s lick up the chalice I wanna hear I wanna hear what you have to say And don’t you lie to us Or we’ll be climbing the citadel, yes! Or we’ll be climbing the citadel There’s too much inequity So don’t you try quell Do good things for in due season we will reap So do not grow weary in doing good, y’all And the fruit of the spirit is love, goodness, and peace And against such things there is no law Living in the righteous way is no flaw There’s Malice in da palace And We’re storming the citadel We’re storming the citadel, yes! For many are called, but few are chosen There’s Malice in da palace There’s Malice in da palace There’s Malice in da palace There’s Malice in da palace Trodding in this world of inequity people dying in the city Kings in palaces dem show no pity And we’re all going to be storming the citadel, yes! So Queen Majesty I wanna have a word with you and lick up da chalice I wanna hear, I wanna hear, I wanna hear what you have to say There’s Malice in da palace There’s Malice in da palace And don’t you try to quell us There’s Malice in da palace Keep your heart with all vigilance, for from it flow the springs of life

Watch the video and listen to You Listen while soaking in the vibes of Mexican agriculture circa 1950s here: https://fb.watch/2tXYb4EpAr/

I deeply recognize the disparity in ways natural and human disasters affect different groups of people and the need for greater equality of care. I also recognize that I live with many privileges that others do not have. And with these recognitions, I still believe there is space for us all to have a gratitude practice while passionately endeavoring for positive change.

I am grateful for all the accumulated creativity and work of our ancestors that lead to the eventual creation of the internet and SoundCloud which has enabled us to remain artistically connected during this period of increased physical isolation.

May everyone’s seeds be fruitful and multiply.

Lyrics:

We thank this seed with its potency To bring forth fruits so copiously With opened hearts and festivity 4 20 days of ceremony

You listen Oh, you listen We’re thankful that You listen

You listen Yea, you listen In the morning dew You glisten

We honor you with crimsoned desire Following Nanahuatl who jumped in the fire May your sacrifices continue to inspire And bring forth gratitude until we expire

The days are long and the weather is hot We call on the rains to weather our crops Bless the labor of men and divined thought Honored to sacrifice for all that we got

We thank this seed with it’s potency To bring forth fruits so copiously With opened hearts and festivity 4 20 days of ceremony

We be handing out the alms for the love of Xipe Totec Got the gods in the house garlands all around their necks Sitting on sheaves, leaves of tzapote Honoring renewal of life and all that is holy Flayed in the way maize loses layers With hope of vegetation we given up the prayers Flayed in the way maize loses layers With hope of vegetation we given up the prayers

Conquering and ruling cultures often oppress those they dominate. The oppressed, and those with less power, will always eventually seek justice, representation, and equal power from their subjugators. Those whose culture have been vilified, repressed, and appropriated can regain their power and love by learning about their past, choosing and identifying their cultural heroes for themselves, and restoring their appreciation and celebrations for their ancestors.

May this song encourage an honest look into your past, acknowledging both the shadow and the light, appreciating the beauty of what was and is, and learning from accomplishments and mistakes to continue our evolution in becoming better co-creators with the planet.

I used some of a bass stem Alpha Roots sent me to make Red Earth Clay and I used the rest of the stem to make Sow Your Seeds. I have one unused bass and drum stem from Alpha Roots that I will make an old school hip hop song with and I may remix his original Hosanna bass stem one day to make a new reggae song. I may also ask Russ if I can make a version of Da Weed using Alpha Roots’ stems one day. After that, I may be complete unless I get gifted some Alpha Roots stems to play with.

Huge thanks to Chiefo who set the original tone of this song which gave me inspiration for the lyrics. Big ups to Fady, bit zone, and Lady of Fire Poetry for joining in on this project and adding their collective vibe. Massive thanks to Wou-Wou & the Wormling for keeping the track on skank with his rhythm guitar and for providing us with his incredible art work - commission him for some work y’all!!! And massive thanks to Russell and the Chaos Cookhouse for mixing and mastering these stems into the huge dubbed out joint that it is. Hit Russ up for his mixing and mastering services now!!!

Lyrics:

Know your roots and your culture Hey hey hey, hey hey hey Rock your roots and your culture Hey hey hey, hey hey hey

Get to know your roots and your culture Who you be now Know your history now
So you can see now Where you wanna sow your seeds now Where you wanna sow your seeds now Hey ey ey Hey ey ey

Gonna build on that which went before I
Try and build on that which went before I
 Never knew who I was
 Dem try and control my
 Never knew who I was
 Dem try and control my
Destiny with suppression and lies
Deny that my ancestors were wise
Revise my story with your wicked eyes
 so others will despise
And overlook the great civilizations that my people built Likewise likewise likewise

Unaware of history your destined to repeat it
Only hear deceitful stories and we’re likely to concede to it
Take away the leaders from our culture to unseat it
Take away our dreams from our spirit to defeat it
Replace dem with your poor role models and everyone believes in it Replace dem with your hopelessness and everyone perceives it
But Jah lion shines bright in us and we only need to see it
Jah lion is shining bright in us and all we need to do is reveal it

Listen to St. Clement while watching Lance Mountain skateboard in the 1984 skateboarding film, The Bones Brigade Video Show here: https://www.facebook.com/couchkingpresents/videos/715433375670753/

I had been really wanting to make new music with Calebass. I have been making a lot of songs that lean more heavily toward hip hop the last couple years and felt like heading back toward the direction of my earlier years on SoundCloud. Luckily Calebass was willing and ready and the music flowed easily and steadily. Jon did an amazing job adding an element of jazz with his bass and Janine really awakened the psychedelic spirit and Age of Aquarius with her vocals. It was extra bonus to have both Sinfields participate in this song making this a real SC family affair. Lyrically, I was inspired by the children’s book, Ox-Cart Man, which I love, and all the felt mouse toys I recently made for my cat at my daughter’s request.

Thanks for all your years of listening everyone!

This is dedicated to the joys of making things at home.

Felt Of natural fibers Pelt Nature’s the provider

Sheep and goats and muskoxen Wool and cashmere qiviut Nothing that’s a toxin only Simply as god giveth Dyes of plants and insects Cochineal that’s rich and intense I light up the incense As you gather up our projects Single felting needle Scissors from the cupboard We are crafting peoples Churning our own butters

Lalalalalalala Lalalala Lalalalalalala Lalalala

Saint Clement fleeing from his city Felted wool upon his blistered piggies

Accidentally felted From moisture and friction It took the shape of Socks Accidentally felted From the moisture and friction It took the shape of Socks

I dry skins in my oven Till the thin fur turns Orange summon Urnamman as smoke drifts to heaven Waking up the legends battling Over bragging rights to the origins The color of carrot Felt hoods dyed and blocked To make hats I inhale the vapors And see the stories come to life As a small white cat adhered to a board Acts out the dreams of a young child bored In a mad scene Of scientists looking for a vaccine To score points for the lord of carotene Off with his head

DeeP. and the Couch King EP collectable stickers and zine available on Bandcamp here: https://musiciselation.bandcamp.com/album/deep-and-the-couch-king

This is the second song that DeeP. and I began together. I really enjoy working on these darker tracks with DeeP. and exploring themes of depression, anxiety, fear, and shame. This song was inspired by a person that I was working with who would call me evil whenever he saw me. Even with me being as positive and non judgmental as possible, I am sure I was seen as another person telling him what to do and making decisions for him based on judgmental criteria. I think these are feelings many of us have had and it can be easy to relate to, though difficult to confront.

I am grateful that we always have an opportunity to grow, learn, reflect, and evolve as individuals, communities, nations, and as a species. May we all be better to each other.

Giant thanks to DeeP. for working with me on this track. And huge thanks to Nick for joining me on this first track together. I have long enjoyed and felt inspired by Nick’s creative and experimental guitar work and musicianship. I am super glad to have his vibe on this track!

“Twenty Twelve” Sticker Set and Zine also available on Bandcamp.

There are so many great musicians on SoundCloud, I wish I could make music with everyone of you. I often reflect on all the great music you have all made, how we are constantly making new songs (because that is what artist do), and how many of our great creations can easily get forgotten. Most of our songs don’t get a chance to live like those songs that get repeated on the radio. And while many of us probably don’t like mainstream radio, many of us would probably like our best songs to have a bigger life, or at least shine a little brighter and be remembered a little longer. As a way to breathe additional air into one of our community members older music, I selected 5 tracks from Hot Os discography and remixed them to make “Twenty Twelve”

Humongous thanks to Hot Os for letting me select and edit 5 prime beats as well as raid his Instagram account for Zine images. Massive thanks to Janine Levinson and Jay Walker Black for dropping those hot guest vocals. And a giant thanks to Caedmon Rigby for all his time and creative energy mixing and mastering “Twenty Twelve” to make it sound so original, so professional, so fresh, and so clean!!! I love working with you all! Part of what makes collaborating so worthwhile is spending creative time with your friends.

Trendsetting keeps within the spirt of “It Ain’t Looking Good” by taking it’s inspiration from people I meet at work and the neighborhood I work in. Two youth I know were really proud of having fake Yeezy Boost 350s. I have never been into sneaker culture but have had friends at various points in time that were. I had never seen Yeezys before, and don’t like Kanye's personality, but I had to find out more about these shoes. I eventually went down the rabbit hole and learned more about counterfeit shoes. It reminded me of a scene from the movie “I’m Gonna Get You Sucka,” where they were talking about fake gold necklaces making your skin green (at least I think it was a scene in that movie, lol). It also reminded me of a time I went to Malaysia and someone I knew was following lead after lead, into alley after alley, to get the highest quality imitation purses and watches. Capitalism. Consumerism. Well whatever. lol

Huge shout out to Bitzone, DeeP, and Frawstakwa for regularly reaching out to make music with me. I am grateful to have so many collaborators and online musical friendships. You are all the best. Having friends to make music with and a community to share creations with is what matters the most.

I think this track started 2 years ago. I remember talking about the vision with Jamie on the phone and then Jamie sent me a bunch of stems to choose from. I chose the standing bass and recorded my verse with a 90’s vibe in mind. I sent the track over to Russell to add some guitars, he sent that funk rock intro and riff back, and then I don’t know what happened after that? A bunch of other songs got made and the vision for this track expanded to include cutting my second verse and bringing Jon Lock in on vocals. Then the song sat again. Jon and I even started and completed And So You Say and Training Day after we had already got this song started. Since this track was visioned to be part of the first song on the set with Training Day, eventually it had to be completed. Wou-Wou then join in with his synths, rhythm guitar over Jon’s part, and some additional guitar over the first section. This gave the track the final fire it needed and Russell mixed and mastered it like a champ!

As always, massive thanks to Wou-Wou and Russell who have been regular collaborators on so many projects, on SoundCloud, Facebook, and Bandcamp. Wou and Russell will always be the core of my musical team. Thanks for being great friends! Big thanks also to Jon, who I have worked with on 3 songs now, with 2 more in the works already! And thanks to Jamie for all his patience, support, and for the completion of our second project together!

This song goes out to all the music nerds, appreciators, and lovers with strong opinions. Keep those conversations going. I spent many, many years, going to the record store several times a week, hanging and talking with the staff, some who became good friends.

Lyrics

Everything changes Nothing stays the same I used to hate it when my people would say it's a shame Stating that the games gone lame Claiming that today the music is wack At times I would refrain and take a step back But most of the time I would counter attack Back in the day, we would say, Clever repartee When we were clowning around But now a days we taking the things a bit more serious Or maybe it's just me, see I ain't playing around as much as I used to be Conversations at a minimal It's not that I'm more critical or cynical It's that I am a more apathetic individual I just don't care Call me hypocritical I be like that's fair Yo What happened to all the innovators, rhyme slayers, originality generators You know There really all still there Back in the days we had to dig in the crates Looking for the lessor known greats I guess that's still the way it operates Hates a narrow minded state And It take effort to educate So I’ma stay open and keep on diggin’ Vibin' on the sounds that I be hearin’ Yea And you know it's like that And you know and you know and you know it's like that Keep keep on, keep keep on keep keep keep on

And you know it’s like that

Here comes the backup plan The man without a name Don’t want to be no star Just musical acclaim Brush back those famous hats like children in the street I’m gonna sing a bit while Couch King cracks the beat Whoa baby now shake Like momma told you now Whoa baby now shake Like this was made for This is a slice of funk USDA prime Let it get to your head You will feel fine Poetry in motion Images in time Back beats and refined commotion Aged like fine wine

Any you know it’s like that

This song is part of a bigger project. I really like making sets like “The Couch King Sofa Barn” and “The Horror Host” but they take a long time to make and I don’t think SoundCloud loves the long song format. A number of us are almost finished with another song in this project. I am excited to hear how the whole thing turns out. Massive thanks to everyone presently involved and all my future collaborators in these crazy visions. I hope everyone is having fun on the cloud. I feel like this can be a very fun time for the SoundCloud community as we have all matured and know ourselves in relation to music better.

This song got started when another rapper first asked me to collaborate with him. He sent me a beat, but I tend to want to focus on original music from our community so I asked Joerxworx if he wanted to work on a beat with only horns in a New Orleans marching funeral band style. Joerxworx agreed and provided me with massive horns to work with! The other rapper was no longer interested by now in working with me so I asked Jon Lock if he wanted to join in and fortunately he agreed, cause I love his funky soulful vocal stylings! Russell did an amazing job mixing and mastering my sloppy drums and the rest of the track to perfection. I was also very fortunate that Wou-Wou & the Wormling was willing to collaborate on art work for this track, fully completing the spirit of community collaboration!

Everyone in our SoundCloud community rocks, don’t you think?!?!

Lyrics:

More slay Wack MCs are getting slashed It ain’t easy being wack these days Ya get gnashed Lyrically grinded up Like left overs you get trashed I’m Hannibal lector on the mic While your rhymes are just ruff and ashy I be like It puts lotion on its rhymes or else it gets the hose again Then you get skinned with the precision of my pen Call me wolf and you play the hen When your all cooped up and shut in by major trends I’m feral Escaped into the underground Where all ill MCs and beat makers find their proving ground I don’t want to rap Without any scars I don’t want to rap if can’t chop through the bars before Going out like ronin for the culture that’s been stolen Bandit pillaging MCs take heed To the master lyricism swordsmen

Oh I’ll make your heart go faint Think your resistant until you aint Close your eyes, move your feet Here comes the rapture I am your man Close your mouth and drop your plan There’s no need to fake it Big daddy’s gonna make ya Dance, twist and shout Pull up those pants and take you out poetry and word play Take you to the dance floor Place my hand on the small of your back I give you a joke and take a smack Sit your ass down and eat your snack Marvel at the verbal fancy footwork

We came to train to take back the reign from the wack We came to hone our skills on a ill horn track We came to bring the reals and show the people what they lack All wack MCs you best watch your backs We bring the rhymes And we bring the beats And we bring good times Cause we bring the heat And we bring the noise Yea we bring the noise Lets all make some noise Lets all make some noise Come on Make, make some noise Let’s all Make, make some noise Everybody Make some noise Make some noise

She was found alone dead in her bed 27 years and already dead He went and took one straight to the head And it took 3 days before any knew he was dead She was introverted Lived reclusive Took the path of seclusion to her conclusion After leaving prison An impoverished condition was the state he lived in Without any of his friends and fans in the ending

In the ending In the ending In the ending

Without anyone around in the ending Without anyone to love in the ending Without anyone who cares in the ending Without anyone with prayers in the ending

I’m thinkin’ a popping the pills again, again I’m fixin’ ta shoot up my veins again, again I’m drinkin’ away my will again, again I’m sinkin’ into a hole again, Wastin’ my life on a dream that always pending Hating everything that I waste all my time making Who am I kidding I’m nothing I’m just pretending Everyday digging my self a little bit closer to the ending

There were moments when the pain went away When the weight of life didn’t seem to weigh Fleeting moment suggesting to stay While the rest of life was pushing towards dismay Feeling hopeless With misguided purpose Constant pursuing with nothing ever accruing Is just worthless What’s the meaning of being around others when Others are really only attending to mending their own feelings in the ending

I don’t care, I don’t really care, I don’t give a fuck, I don’t give a damn, I don’t give a shit

I feel blessed to be able to keep Alpha Roots’ vibe shining bright for the SoundCloud community to continue to enjoy.

Alpha Roots sent me these reggae bass and rhythm guitar stem a long time ago, maybe even three years ago in 2016 (bad couch, bad couch)! I originally planned on having Evelyn (of the Reiki Run Rampant tracks on my page) sing over the rhythm but then I moved from Santa Cruz to Portland and she moved from the Pacific Northwest to Santa Cruz, bummer! So the stems sat in my hard drive until new inspiration arrived in the form of Johnny Minstrel, one of favorite song writers on SoundCloud, agreeing to write lyrics and sing over the track. Once Johnny added his deep felt lyrics and magical vocal chords to the mix, the rest of the song came together pretty quickly for me, lol! I often try to put together virtual bands for my tracks and I knew I had to have Jamie Rhind on the track since he worked with Alphio on multiple songs and a reunion was due. I always wanted to work with Jonathan Beckenstein, whose sensitive and thoughtful guitar work is always sublime. Darren and Russ came naturally. My original drum production work was based on an old Sly Dunbar sample (I like to include the essence of some of my favorite artists in the tracks I work on) but the quality of the drums just wasn’t up to Russ’ standards, hahaha, so we brought Bitzone on board to lay down some drums and voila, roots reggae magic!

Big thanks to the band for coming together on this in fine fashion! Big ups to the SoundCloud community and the spirit of collaboration. Keep on digging!

And massive thanks to Wou-Wou to bringing his visual arts talent to the project! My goal is to eventually put together a reggae album (possibly a double album which will also include some reggae collaborations between Alpha Roots and friends including Jamie Rhind and Russ Sinfield) with all profits going to the Cancer Research Institute. Be on the look out for a possible dub version of Red Earth Clay as well!!!

Lyrics: Hold you tongue don’t wag that finger Just shine a light on me my friend Too much fuss will only hinder All the good things the spirit sends We were made of dust and fire Born beneath a brooding sky On the stairs of Babel we climb higher To sights not seen by human eye

And now I dig, dig deep into the Red Earth Clay Dig, dig deep And I toil for no pay I dig, dig deep into the Red Earth Clay Down to the root I’ll find my way

Some have called democracy into question Saying we like sheep have gone astray That it’s been the rich man’s intention To steel by night and rule by day I washed your feet with my tears I wiped them dry with my hair Can a hungry mouth still offer prayers Or are they whispers of despair

And now I dig, dig deep into the Red Earth Clay Dig, dig deep And I toil for no pay I dig, dig deep into the Red Earth Clay Down to the root I’ll find my way I dig, dig deep into the Red Earth Clay Dig, dig deep And I toil for no pay I dig, dig deep into the Red Earth Clay Down to the root I’ll find my way

This EP is lovingly dedicated to Alphio, remembered by all of the SoundCloud community as Alpha Roots.

Alpha Roots brought the irie vibrations and had us all skanking on the regular. His positive lyrics and vocals raised the collective consciousness and his genre spanning tunes, inspired many to collaborate, and kept our creative fires burning. Alpha Roots was a loving soul that will always be remembered by our tight community. We keep the spirit of Alpha Roots alive each time we listen to his music.

For an unknown reason, I always felt a strong urge to make another version of Hosanna and once Alpha Roots passed away, the impetus became undeniable. I was called to ask Soundwanderer, a regular collaborator with Alpha Roots, to lay a new musical foundation over the Binghi Biscuits rhythm. After Soundwanderer dropped the mad flavor with a truly heartfelt and touching musical performance, I asked Janine Levinson to compliment my newly recorded vocals to really make this dedication to Alphio super special. Russ, who also collaborated with Alphio, was the obvious choice to mix and master the track and really bring Alpha Roots' sprit back to life. I did my best to regularly ask Alphio what he wanted with this remake of Hosanna and I feel the song turned out as he would have liked it.

Huge thanks to Wou-Wou & the Wormling for blessing this song with his beautiful artwork. Wou-Wou listened to the song and was inspired to draw this picture of Jah Lion being hugged by a young spirit; which reminded Russ of this picture of Alpha Roots: soundcloud.com/alpha-roots/sets/rip-alphio

We miss you Alpha Roots! You can listen to a playlist of some of Alpha Roots' reggae tracks here: soundcloud.com/plastic-inevitable/sets/much-love-for-alpha-roots-vol

On a day sweetened by a breeze that enlightens us with prana I wanna climb this earth to find a place where we will sing hosanna hosanna, hosanna I wanna climb this earth to sing hosanna

And in sweet meditation we will meet to dance in ultimate freedom Floating in the universal ghee outside of Vishnu’s dream in Eden In Zion, in Eden We will meet to dance in ultimate freedom In Eden, in Zion We will meet to dance in ultimate freedom

And we will meet again my friend In Zion, in Eden And we will meet to dance again In freedom, in freedom In Zion, in Eden We will meet again my friend

Massive thanks again to Bitzone and DeeP. for keeping the energy going on this projects. Big up to RS Frawstakwa on keeping connected and always being down to bust some rhymes on another track. I have been digging not playing any role in the music production department and just laying down vocals.

“It Ain’t Looking Good,” similar to “I Don’t Owe Ya,” and “Deeper” are influenced by my daily commute to work and the neighborhoods I drive through. The vibrations I was mostly influenced by were very different when I lived in the bay area and worked in Silicon Valley. Santa Cruz had a slightly similar vibration to my current commute, but it was definitely more sunny, positive, and new age. I also suppose that the lyrics and vibe of these tracks are also influenced by the current societal focus on Mental Health.

As always, I appreciate you all listening and commenting and supporting the music on my page. What a long strange trip it’s been. I wish everyone greater and deeper knowing and appreciation of themself.

Lyrics

Rolling through the hood with a crack in the glass Dent in the trunk from 3 years past Flashing on the dash cause always low on the gas What what ch-u looking at huh What ch-u looking at

Police rolling up hoping they just gonna pass Marijuana legal no more looking for grass Still watching out keeping it real working class What what ch-u looking at huh What ch-u looking at

Sole falling off the shoe ain’t embarrassed Yea it’s the same hoodie, why’d you even ask Don’t need to explain why we taken it back What what ch-u looking at huh What ch-u looking at

In the Veil of Darkness You still see a profile And it ain’t looking good for me And it ain’t looking too good for me And it ain’t looking good for me

Scowl on the prowl feeling real hopeless Low vibration got no focus Don’t need your fuckin’ help fuck your diagnosis What ch-u looking at huh What ch-u looking at

Hanging in the parking lot Bumming cigarettes Mindin’ our own business Joking bout regrets Gave up trying to change Now we get what we get Yea we act a fool But your the one with threats We ain’t looking at you So why you all upset

Whatchya lookin’ at? Stop and stare and laugh Take a photograph It’ll last longer that way Oh snap Spit actual facts About this and that By the paragraph None of it’s an act I just rap

This track is available for purchase on Bandcamp at: https://musiciselation.bandcamp.com/track/valley-of-the-drums All money will go to She's Excited to support her art.

Almost every song I post started ages ago. I remember writing the lyrics to this song in the gym I go to during summer vacation. Good times. The lyrics were initially inspired by my family's continual attempt to live consciously to better the planet and better our personal health. I pretty much don't buy anything, so that is one way I help, lol. Gotta try to leave the spirit and the planet better than when we came. When doing some further research on the topic I learned about the valley of the drums. You can read a little about it here: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Valley_of_the_Drums

I love collaborating on music. This is one of the reasons why I still primarily engage with SoundCloud. The other reason I am still pretty much only here is I love this community. You all are the best. I would miss you all too much. Thanks Anne and Russ for making lots of music with me. I love working with both of you.

We're all living in the valley Of the drums

Detox This worlds gone to plastic Get it in a box My liver in a casket Off gassing We're locking up the gasses Consuming It's all going to waste

We're all living in the valley Of the drums

Formaldehyde yeayea We're soaking it up Yeayea, Yea, Yea Polyurethane foam We're soaking it up Yeayea, Yea, Yea Phthalates, yeayea yeayea We're soaking it up Triphenyl phosphate, yea We're soaking it up Yeayea, Yea, Yea

Detox to retox Retox to detox Retox and retox Detox to detox

Now your Energy efficiency Is Slowly killing me I Turned my house green But The green house effect is all we're seeing Brainwashing Off gassing It's that new car smell were inhaling Dying Slowly from the lies they are selling Manufacturing Cheap Artificial ways of living We no longer know what we're breathing Inhaling Genetically modified ingesting It's the new American sickening

Run, run, run, run, run

Cars are running Slice of heaven ACs are running 247 Your nose is running Burning eyes Isn't it funny that we're running out of time Fuel, air, water, sand, land

Top dog's cunning Minister's cunning Senator's cunning Yeah, their cheekiness is stunning We're running out of time Fuel, air, water, sand, land

We're all living in the valley Of the drums

We need a purification ritual

DeeP. also worked with Bitzone and Stone Catcherye to do this dope electro funk remix of "Deeper"

Huge thanks to DeeP. for initiating these projects.

I think for 2019 I want to focus on some albums with a more consistent sound. I think it would be really cool to work with Bitzone and DeeP., along with some additional other collaborators on full album of similar tracks.

Happy New Year 2019 all! I wish you all lots of good health, fine community, mega prosperity, huge success, good times, and awesome music!

Lyrics:

I’m sick of this world I’m quick to unfurl I light up the wick And picture myself In the underworld

There’s many ways to die And I give ‘em a try Each time that I lie And close up my eyes Kapow Bak bak

Nobody cares No one hears my prayers All I bear is unfair I swear that I’ll tear Your hair out if you speak Shut the fuck up

It ain’t just my fault How I’m under assault Blaming is your default You pour salt on mistakes To try and validate Your perceived superiority

A piece of advice And you move on with you life I don’t owe ya A thanks I don’t owe ya

Get me to see My responsibility I don’t owe ya A sorry I don’t owe ya

This is my demise Don’t tell me bout my life I don’t care if you think That you care I’m aware That I’m a fuck up

This is how my dream dies Don’t tell me to realize Who I am Cause you think that I am Someone That’s not a fuck up

Cause I am fuck up just a fuck up I am fuck up A real fuck

Telling me to shut up Always telling me to shut up

I wrote the lyrics to Sneekie San Salvador many, many years ago as an alter ego to the more positive Couch King. I was probably channeling a bit of Dr. Octagon. The lyrics may have also been an accessing of the shadow side of parenting. The voice of the devil on your shoulder. Initially (about a year ago or maybe more) I was only going to use the Sneekie San Salvador lyrics for a short and easy song with Tensor. I sent my vocals to Tensor over a basic hip hop drum loop, but after Tensor sent me his production work for the track I was inspired to write more lyrics. Deeper was written before, "I Don't Owe Ya," but explores the similar theme of troubled youth. I thought Heatscore's dark cold metal guitar work would help emphasize the bleak landscape of the theme and I knew Ill Dub would help bring out the crazy.

Huge thanks to Tensor for his incredible patience waiting for this track to be completed and released. Thanks to Heartscore for still being a friend and inspiration and collaborator on so many different projects. Thanks to Ill Dub for always being there for me through much of my journey on SoundCloud. All these musicians are my family.

I am blessed by everyone still here.

Lyrics:

Sneekie san salvador Sneekie as it gets Always trying to make the little kids upset Loves it when they cry and they eyes get all wet Never lies in fear and has no regrets Never sheds a tear when a lady trips down the steps Probably sawed her heals, got the skills of a vet Master of the trip wire sire sneak attack Watched home alone a million times and knows how to make a trap Lurking in the shadows, tip towing like a cat Whiling humming the Ramones, singing beat on the brat Beat on the brat with a baseball bat Oh yea he is despicable, lives in an unlivable room that’s a mess Leaves his clothes on the ground, picks it up just to get dressed A little depressed and has a hard time sleeping, leaves the tv on at night When he sees a baby dreaming, coughs to give ‘em a fright Likes to get even and always takes the last cookie When told to turn around, always takes a lookie lookie Got the parenting skills of a young rookie Always sends the kids to bed with out brushing And when they get it in their head that it’s time to brush their teeth Rushes to the fridge and looks inside for some OJ to make them drink He’s a master of the slight of hand with a knack to make you think Sneekie San Salvador Turn the other way he’ll take a sip of your drink

Hot Damn

Don’t hate i’m deeper than you think Don’t hate i play dumb with a wink My snap comes from on the brink My bite goes beneath the pink Don’t hate i’m deeper than you think It's like the world just doesn’t know how let it go It's like this feeling that i’m just supposed go and blow Your big egos just wants me to shrink Like I never have belonged here iIm spinning my wheels around the rink Doing my best not to disappear Doing my best not to disappear All you think i’m trying to do is interfere but there’s no other way out of here Don’t hate i’m deeper than you think

Thanks everyone for listening and supporting and all you smiles, laughter, head bobs, swaying, toe tapping, and finger snapping. I appreciate it all! I am glad we are all still here after all these years and SC scares and alternate site distractions.

This is another track I made many years ago. I made it audio bin style by rearranging baselines and guitar parts from old stems from Blankets. If my recollection is correct, I might have reused parts of “Falling Off (The Precipice),” which is currently set on private. It has been sitting on my hard drive asking to be released but I have been telling it no, you need to be patient and wait. Once I finally felt I could release it, it sounded old to me, lol. So Wou-Wou and Wizardshoes / AKA Ill Dub came to the rescue. They resuscitated it, fed it good food, and dressed it up real nice, and now it is ready to go!

Big thanks to Wou-Wou and Wizardshoes for always being there for me! You guys rock!

This is some sticky love This is some sticky love yea

I might be sad but it’s not your fault You might be mad and it’s all my fault

It might not be all good It might get all real What ever happens to us still

I appreciate the opportunity that this time gives me to reflect on my values, ideas, and beliefs. The interactions between the different generations, cultures, environments, and technologies will constantly be an agent of change and catalyst for our further evolution. I wish to be a part of this change with open mindedness, free thinking, and a nonjudgmental attitude.

Massive thanks to Tophonicus who got this track started, i don't know...maybe a year ago...It requires a lot of patience to work with me, lol. Tophonicus' original track is massive and was instantly inspirational.

Many more thanks flow out to She's Excited for assisting with the vocal arrangement and adding some pure style to the track. She's Excited is incredible and I love working with her. I bow down to Joerxworx, Styrmonix, and Alex Sinfield for their passionate, skillful, and creative horn blowing contributions. I want to go on tour with all these guys!!!

Finally, big thanks to the one and only Russ Sinfield for his many hours mixing and mastering and actually making this song sound good. I often give him a mess to work with, especially since I only record with my built in computer mic and refuse to use my real mics, lol

Massive shout out to Jerry Lochman for the incredible song art, he is rocking our SoundCloud visual world!

Huge gratitude to my friend Caemon Rigby for reaching out and instantly inspiring me to make a song with him. He put massive amounts of love into the track and I think it came out so fresh and so clean!

The song lyrics were partially inspired by woman who, many years ago, looked at me with sultry eyes and then whispered in my ears, "shiva shakti," after having a long sexy dance together. I think I must have also been thinking about Osho Ashram when writing these lyrics. haha.

Last night girl you had me feeling alright Shiva Shakti your embrace got me so tight now now, now, now, now, now, now, Oi now

Last night we saw the moon meeting daylight When your yin meets my yang the gods ignite now now, now, now, now, now, now, Oi now

Together we be manifestin' Perfect unity dissolution Our duality got me obsessin' Your form is divine creation Let's make a universe as our consciousness awakens Merge into one As time is forsaken Delve into your depths to get high Your vibration got me bakin' Kundalini's risin' and the lingam's awaitin'

Breath stokes the fire all night long We be seekin' liberation We be seekin' liberation We be seekin' liberation

Your breath stokes my fire so we can go All night long All night long seeking liberation

Entwined in the eternal and pulling back the veil It's just you and me in perfect oneness Twin realities ain't no illusion on this trail To enlightenment in the darkness One must utilize the body to know which is beyond

When Ronny the Rocket and I first made this track, we couldn't decide who would be the best person to add their magical touch to the mix and master of this song. So we decided to have both Wou-Wou & the Wormling and Ill Dub make a version. I originally posted the Ill Dub version on my page and Ronny the Rocket posted the Wou-Wou & the Wormling version on his page. Both Ronny and I eventually took down the respective versions from our page as new music was made. I have numerous songs set to private to eventually delete as I am running out of space on my page and am not going to pay for a SoundCloud Pro Unlimited plan. But, I still like this song, so decided to give it fresh life on my page with the Wou-Wou & the Wormling mix.

For this release, Wou-Wou & the Wormling provided me with this special artwork. I think it looks great and companions the song excellently!!!

Enjoy and happy Reading!!!

I love books Give me lots and lots and lots of books y’all I love books Give me lots and lots and lots of books

I love books Give me lots of books Books and books and books and books The printed word, handwritten spells, illustrations with stories to tell Pen on paper, the ink in well, going old school with a brush or quill I love books

I gotta say, I love ‘em all, hieroglyphics on walls to a manic scrawl Roald Dahl to Aristotle You get the gist, now come here and sit as I go through the list E-books, Ibooks, books on tape, from MP3 to that vinyl scrape to blocks of wood, they all are great, ha

Pssst, psst, yea you, come here, come here, I have a secret to tell

When you are imagining you might as well imagine something worth while for if you don’t imagine nothing ever happens at all

Whistles and bells, peas in nutshells, everyone’s got at least one story to tell So write it down and self-publish, count your lucky stars and go make a wish Dream a little dream, concoct a tasty dish What? Collect your recipes, even cook books aren’t off limit Children’s lit is still legit, captures the adolescent spirit Hey, true fact, I even took college courses on it Yea! I love books

I’ll read ‘em all, no prints to small bifocals for my eyeballs downfall Through strain and squall, fatigue at nightfall god damn it, I’m in it for the long hall

Lyrics:

Uhhhh uhhhh uhhh uhhhh....

Esta noche la luna no sale Esta noche la noche esta oscura Y el viento sopla y el camino se apaga

The Moon

On this night the moon will not be seen On this night the moon will not be seen There will be darkness, there will be darkness There will be darkness, there will be darkness

On this night the moon will not be seen On this night the moon will not shine You will not see, you will not see You cannot see, you cannot see me

On this night the moon will not be seen On this night the moon will not shine I will light your way with trail of candles I will light you way with a trail of candles So that you may see, so that you may see So that that you may see me

Oooohhh oooohhhh oooooohh. . .

On this night the moon will not be seen On this night the moon will not shine The wind will blow and make your path disapear!

Lyrics:

Gotta spring in my step And a star in my eyes With every new breath I take in my new life I'm so good without you I'm not lonely without you I just smile through the day And when I tell you that's true You know I'm lying

Truth be told I’m so bold My lies stand out It’s true Gotta highlighter That’s my reminder Of thoughts that stick like glue But i’m loosing all my focus on that hurtful hocus pocus casting Glimmers on new beginners coloring my world a brand new hue Tried on many shades of blue but now i got my new spring shoe to Bounce me to the stars look no handlebars as I try to fall To the ground With out a sound Un in love with you

So take down the stars from the sky I might as well stand in the dark If your not with me What good would stars be They'd just shine on my broken heart

I'm so mopey and sad And I don't go outside I don't want to get up And I can't sleep at night I pushed you away Should have begged you to stay Thinking of you Is the best thing I do all day

Take down the stars from the sky I might as well stand in the dark If your not with me What good would stars be They'd just shine on my broken heart

Guess I thought everything was possible I'd bounce right back like a super ball But I'm not good at all

Like no cents Was only past tense My worth was bound up In you Thought i’d invest In a false love low risk But securities crashed Now i’m through Now I’m picking up fallen stars and bouncing ‘em up into the sky as Lights reflecting in my eye rainbows to give it one more try But I’m a superball and your the one That’s not good at all Now the only lie was lie that my heart belonged to you as I bounce To the sky To say good bye And hello to My new view

So take down the stars from the sky Why should I stand in the dark If your not with me What good would stars be They'd just shine on my broken heart

Lyrics:

And now I'm staring at the crossroad Tossing coins and trying to break the code Divine connection for the download Divine erection and now source is flowed I would have thought by now the way of Tao would show me how to clear the dust Grasping at stardust as dreams go to bust Lusting for clarity and staring at hope Wishing to give her the thrust When the ball and chain is me partnering mistrust It's all a projection Leading me down the path of misdirection I chant my mantras to my inner light to light my soul bright Write down my ways that arn't right and burn em at night I light my soul bright my spirit ignite Invite my holy might to see what's right to my truth's site you gotta fight for what is right inside of you

Life can never figure out where to go But I know deep inside your soul You know what guides you Fight for what you know is true inside of you and you will too see you were the answer to the question

so many voices inside my head should i listen to them all and sing along or just play deaf so many mantras to cross the mind but still i've this vague feeling that i'm more declined than refined so should i walk this path to climb up a hill that someone else heaped up for me just to keep me still or can i walk my path, sitting on a rim, and listen to the wonders without and within

You are now listening to the sounds of inspiration the sound motivation visualization real life perspiration of people doing their thang living their dream aspiring to great heights keeping the spirit of humanity alive and bright to lighten up all our lives ha

Something simple as a dream and some inspiration A little heart, a sudden spark, and some motivation Place it together to head to your destination Know that you ego will never give you confirmation

Blessings on the Autumn Equinox This is a special song, inviting us to give thank’s for the many gifts bestowed by this bountiful earth and to give back healthy, healing prayers for the earth’s recovery as we prepare for the long winters nap.

Lyrics

The beauty, fire-walker and run-ragged dancer, Circle the square and run all the faster. The wolf-hound, the pauper and quick-witted crook, Circle the square and the fat banker’s hook.

Summer is gone. All Hail to the Sun. Summer is gone. All Hail to the Sun.

The earth is a circle that never shall be broken. The circle is a secret that never shall be spoken. And Love is a spire that spirals forever. A spiral in our blood, to heal us together.

The Lovers, The Fool and the old, thin Magician, Quarter the night and the Moon’s intuition. The dwarves and the dance-girls in glitter processions, Quarter the night with the Moon’s intuition.

Lyrics, vocals by Steph Sweet © 2016 All Rights Reserved

Like Druids

Gathering on the equinox to Watch the sun rise In the morning To give thanks For the bountiful harvest And prepare for the darkness Of the winter It’s time to build an alter, gather all the fruits and vegetables And offer apples to The goddess Sharing food and gathering one’s blessings As leaves change their colors and fall from the trees Blanketing the earth for her long winter’s nap And the sun’s seeds Looses power to The darkness Of the lunar ruled sky Listen to the knowledge of the third eye As the inner maharaja speaks the truth

Summer is gone. All Hail to the Sun.

Bonus track: Iced Shoulder with Stricknice, Steve Vercelloni, and S.Yamagishi

https://soundcloud.com/couch-king-presents/iced-shoulder-stricknice-syamagishi-steve-vercelloni-the-couch-king/s-fSzbD

I started this song more than a year ago, maybe even two years ago - lol. Thank you so much S.Yamagishi, Steve Vercelloni, and Stricknice for being so patient with me - haha!

This track went through tons of arangement changes. I originally couldn't come up with any decent lyrics or vocals so I asked tons of people to join in. But in the end, this song wanted me to come up with some vocals and lyrics to get it started. Thankfully Augenmerk blessed this track with her beautiful poetry and brought this song to final fruition.

Thanks you everyone for all your listening. All of your comments mean the world to me. I look forward to jumping on SoundCloud and listening to your music every single day!

Let this track bless you with the freedom to not take things to serious - haha!

Lyrics:

I have opened a song and danced into it, full-throated into happiness In this swinging I am, my breath is singing A poem, euphony. At the bottom of the heart is rest, and the time clock stands still.

I want to live, clear and grounded, close to the earth, and my love now serves the silence, the blooming garden happiness. Independant of the outer torment my calmness contrasts with the pile of sorrow, with oppressive nightmare, the burden of breath and all the serious heaviness.

Don’t Take Things To Serious

Practice meditation right now Practice meditation striving for levitation one day you may discover you can float come on over here let me show you how Breath in the air deeply inhale Breath in deeply then see if you can keep the prana flowing through your Nadis hold your breath but not so long that you turn pale and pass out What is Tai chi quan translated Translated in mandarin literally has the meanin' of supreme ultimate boxin’ practice slow now you know Cultivate patience when given choice Given choice all animals are inclined to put their mind to short-term rewards despite often greater benefits of long term rewards Think Before speaking clearly Thinking before speaking next thing you know your keeping your mouth zipped before you decide to let it rip

Don't Take Things To Serious

Have you found me, heaven? Now I am yours. Banqueting on boundless joy, breathlessly diving into the shriek with delight which lasts behind all life. Where do we come from, where do we go and who am I? From harmony to harmony aspiring to abundance in the internal sense, and my armor bursts, I sort my way.

Lyrics:

And this one goes out to all the hypocrites Reaping all the benefits Saying if the shoe fits Then you might as well lace it While we sit and grin and face it Heard you got a little happiness Please pass it on and share it Put it on a pin and wear it

Every morning when I wake up I don't want to get up I feel the ache in my head Warning enough is enough Put my feat on the ground Cause I'm bound to keep going Even though I wanna call out from my work I keep showing

Repeat, Repeat Each week the same week You seek, we all seek A little peak, no a sneak peak Something that's unique Something that will pique My fading interest Cause my will is getting week My will is getting week My will is getting week I need a little tweak Something new between the sheets Something indiscreet Performing extraordinary feats One order of... Extra strong coffee not something that's too weak

Overworked and Underpaid We wanna live the fantasy

If the shoe fit Gonna lace it up

Wow Those shoes are cool Now We aint playing the fool Let's show em how We gonna pull off the wool And call those suckers out for being the wolf And start seeing real and speaking the truth

Gonna exploit the people, better lace it up If you misrepresent, better lace it up Take advantage when unequal, better lace it up Just to make an extra cent, better lace it up

Get down, outta town People jam on it Time to believe in yourself If you got it then flaunt it

Seeking and speaking the truth to the youth, I be braking and shaking my reality up Calling my lies and my patterns all out Gotta be real to your self to bring real change all about

If the shoe fit you gonna lace it up

Stomp your feet If you think it ain't right! Clap your hands If you wanna unite!

Shoe Fit Gonna lace it up

Yea gon build it up We gon build it up Gon build it up yea

I got hope i hope you got hope too We can do whatever yea we want ta do Gonna build the life that we dream now Gonna make the world that we want now Paving the way, paving the way

And this one goes out to all the hypocrites Reaping all the benefits Saying if the shoe fits Then you might as well lace it While we sit and grin and face it Heard you got a little happiness Please pass it on and share it Put it on a pin and wear it

Overworked and underpaid We wanna live the fantasy

Lyrics: I grew up on Hip Hop I just had to get my fix Probably started in 1986 Licenced to Ill, Raising Hell, Hot, Cool & Vicious Back when vinyl was delicious I was listening to Mantronix I used to hit the record stores, I heard every album and I still wanted more Back in 84 was an early introduction I used to watch beat street, put the cardboard on the floor Had the gatefold, breakin’ instructions with the Egyptian, up rockin’ and pop & locking I would do the snake and then we would bust a chain wave Word This is all from way back when I used to watch Breaking, Wild Style with Fab 5 Freddy, Style Wars, Krush Groove, and Disorderlies, MTV Raps, and Rap City The Ed Lover Dance, Do you remember that? The Unwind Yourself sample, man that shit was phat, they just looped that Brought up in the East Bay, California, Oakland, San Francisco, Hayward, Bay Area Home Turf was my shit, Dominique would take you down to city streets with skate boarding clips, the bones brigade, graffiti artists, Vogue, Crayon, and Twist I would ride the bart to the city, hop on the Muni, visit Psycho City This is all from back in the day I grew up on Hip Hop

Woa O O O Oh I don’t care where I’m going As long as it’s not home I don’t care where I go

Just a regular snot nosed kid skate boarding through the neighborhood in Airwalk kicks getting into trouble practicing flips and tricks Shoplifting spay paint cans for kicks Smashing bricks and breaking sticks Head phones on, didn’t care about politics Pocketing the latest Too Short hits, Slap it in the Walkman cassette tape Everything is great Gravy on the plate I grew up on Hip Hop

Lyrics: Let it on out now Just let it on out

We all got something, that's weigh'n on our mind We all got something, to get on off our chest We've all had that feeling of being unaligned We've all had that feeling, but now is the time to

Everybody's got something to say Everybody's wants to feel good Everybody's got something they want Nobody wants to be misunderstood Everybody wants to feel loved and express who they are without being judged Everybody wants to do good and we all have opinions on the things that we should

Let it on out So we can all get together And all unite So we can all be free

We didn't come to this planet to keep it all in I'm here to tell you that now is the time To move it and shake it and let it on out

Do you want to be heard Do you want to feel alive Do you want to be free Do you want to let it on out

Fun fact! This song evolved from this song: https://soundcloud.com/alpha-roots/binghi-biscuits

Baby I don't want you But you know I need you Don't want to kiss you But I need to Oh you do me wrong now My love is strong now You really got a hold on me

You really got a hold on me Baby, I love you and all I want you to do is hold me, hold me, hold me

I need you to feel who I am You show me the world Without you, it's all cold, damn I get lost trying to find myself I need you to hold me tighter Tell me it's all real Make me feel bad Make me feel mad Wrap around me tighter And then take me higher I just want to be inside you a little bit tighter Because it's too hard to just be inside of me Take me to that final place

Tighter I wanna leave you Don't want to stay here Don't want to spend another day here

Dog: And this one goes out to all the fine furry creatures out there hear me now! I dig in deep with the claws of fury I get the passion and I'm off in a scurry Off me to catch me a fine piece of furry You never know when your gonna get a lucky I got no worries I got no worries Gonna dig me some deep deep holes Live life simply

Lyrics

I came from stars Formed of gaia, sprung from the holy well Transformation

Sometimes the angel flies away and leaves me with the devil on my shoulder battle with these demons elevated awareness as we’re older Requiem for a dream that’s been lost in the solar I lean into the turns this life can be a roller coaster. Step in with the vocal weapon I was never one to holster. Repping my culture til the day my brains only being picked apart by the vultures. Plugging out of the matrix as I shape shift from the basics, Improving third eye vision giving probono lasiks, let’s face it we so fallen from grace, the roots have been infected and I still feel it in the bass. as I sit back and contemplate fate as of lately the body’s getting slim and the mind is feeling shady, when the art becomes about whose gunna pay me. I’m like man who really even cares if they pay me? this movements for the music, and man I’m about to lose it real recognize real, and blatantly I’m screaming fuck a record deal them labels don’t feel the truth, and that’s all I speak in the booth never turn my back on the muse, I just cruise to the border of oblivion the gems were hidden in ourselves so I’m ripping through my brain cells, come get tossed by the swells of the ocean that rippled through time with the rhymes, the regimes in our prime like it’s Octomus time or apocalypse time…. naw the divides were only constructs of our minds

Lyrics:

my consciousness is not in me i am in my consciousness i am not in my body my body is in me

this body's all i got your body's all i want this body is my temple why don't you come pray with me

My temple is where I play Your temple is where i wish to pray Our temple is where we meet in heaven Why don't you come pray with me

she looked at me, then i looked at her

and then she said there ain't nothing wrong with this physical plane, but lets just sit and meditate

We were once lovers, I knew you from a past time and you knew me I once was a luminous sphere of plasma And you were my gravity I remember when we were two sets of interlaced threads In a beautifully woven tapestry I loved it when you rubbed against me Friction There were times when we exploded like when we of singularity wasn't that something How we did grow, exponentially Especially me haha All things come from you And all things emerge internally Blessing to our dreams may they always be a source of our prosperity I once dreamed we were two facing mirrors under an ancient tree On another planet in another galaxy In the past of a future time in an alternate reality But the point is, I was in you and you were in me How we used to make love Energetically those were sacred moments when the spirit filled us with clarity Yo I got mad abundance Won't you come pray with me

Sending good fortune to you all and wishing that all of your true dreams and desires come true. Giving you all courage and support along the way.

1000 thanks to S.Yamagishi for all of his patience and dedication and inspiring music and friendship!

Always giving props out to the wizard of shoes, the production of ill dub for his mastering trickery.

Moving to Santa Cruz was a commitment to a new path. It was also a separating from the bonds of the past. Many things broke. A rocket was needed to break through the atmosphere i currently lived in. When stepping into the rocket, faith is needed and sometimes a little help from the gods. I owed Yemoja, the mother of all Orishas, the ocean, a song of thanks for guidance and synchronistic gifts that are sometimes only recognizable in hindsight. My wife and I gave her a gift of a coconut just as the portals were closing.

Listen to your inner voice in the quiet of your mind You will find your peace in release we can all get a piece of the Bottomless pie why deny, let abundance be your guide And proceed just believe, have faith and conceive, cocreate what's in your Inner state, relax, it will all be great

I'm making my way Over that hill To Santa Cruz Where the vibes are chill I'm making my way Over that hill To Santa Cruz To let my mind be still Gonna soak under the sun For a deep soul heal Times have been good Yet life has been real

Spoke to the ocean, she said you coconut must spill, so i cast caution to the ocean and i gave in

Take your time and visualize your dreams Realize that you can actualize the potential you have inside let your kundalini rise it will be no surprise when Things materialize in front of your eyes Just have faith and use your faith when obstacles arise, keep moving, pushing forward, looking for the positive, and be creative on your journey With gratitude!

Lyrics:

This be the jam for your artisanal toast This be the butter from your host with the most This here the first that makes your rump roast From Columbus Ohio down to the west coast This be the wings that make that shit fly This here the joint that gets you all high This be the fish sauce to make my eats Thai Gonna get you all moving make them old bones spry I went down town and met a girl from uptown Shaking her booty like treasure to be found Doing the whop and that old Charlie brown Gonna make that rain fall and raise the crops from the ground

We gonna call that thunder We gonna shake the night We gonna ride that lightning To the ground and make it strike We gonna call that thunder We gonna make it rain tonight

This be the one that goes straight to the top This be that bubbly that makes a song pop This be what's hip to add spring to your hop These here the moves that make them drawls drop I went down town again the very next week Looking for a honey so I guess I better seek Cast my stones to the ground you could here the floor creek She did the cabbage patch and then she did the freak

We gonna call that thunder We gonna shake the night We gonna ride that lightning To the ground and make it strike We gonna call that thunder We gonna make ya'll clap We gonna strike that lightning We gonna bring that 88 back We gonna call that thunder We gonna make it rain tonight

So you came downtown just to watch me dance Hoping to meet me you may have a chance My magic I'm working' and you can be sure I'm more than a dancer…so much more And if you be lucky and if you be true Maybe I'll spend some minutes with you Cause you found your way here And here you shall be Watching a dancer looking at me

This be that funk that shake the junk in your trunk This here so phat it go gadunkadunkdunk This track be so dope you'll be calling it skunk Gonna get you to the party make a drunk monk crunk I went downtown to the festival to play Met a girl form uptown with a cowrie shell bouquet Dancing to the ana drums to make her sorrows go away She put me in a trance and danced 'till the break-a-day

We gonna call that thunder We gonna shake the night We gonna ride that lightning To the ground and make it strike We gonna call that thunder We gonna make it rain tonight

This song was initially recorded in typical Reiki Run Rampant fashion with synchronicity of connection while Evelyn was passing through San Jose from northern Washington and recorded in my car in a 15 minute improvised session!

Fortunately Calebass and I had started a rhythm track already for just this sort of chance meeting.

We are extra blessed that E-Ruizzo was willing to blow some mighty fine xaphoon and give the song that jazzy feel it oh so wanted.

And extra special thanks, as always, to my main man ill dub for his ill mastering!!! Ill Dub, mastering for hire!

Thanks you SoundCloud community for all of your listening, comments, friendship, and support!

Lyrics:

(based off the old poem)

Cross my heart and hope to die Stick a needle in my eye Wait a moment, I spoke a lie I never really wanted to die But if I may and if I might My heart is open for tonight Though my lips are sealed And my promise is true I won't break my word My word to you

A needle in a haystack A fennel in my pocket A lock on my heart A cardiac arrest

Lyrics:

one sunday morning I skipped into the sea but then i cut me on a clam i cut me on a clam infused by a salty injection, i went back up again and i opened up the clam, but it was empty and i opened up the clam, but it was empty

this, this one, it wasn't empty no, it was filled up to the brim with a salty goo

one sunday morning i cut me on a clam

i made another try, but i cut me again

one clam, two clams, three clams, four Calebass and Sneekie San Salvador A hard shell, soft shell, razor clam score Mix 'em all together for a funky chowder

and so i threw it into the sea and i throw myself into it too

and then the albatross, he sat upon my shoulder and then it lead me to a cave that was filled up to the brim with empty shells and i said, hey, what's with all the shells, it replied...

a peace of mind, yea

Lyrics

She said if we kiss, then you better marry this, and there is no time to loose So I packed up my things, and I looked for diamond rings, cause there's no other choice to choose Once met an old man on wife number three, she left for chili with all his money Now she's living happily selling hot tamales, drinking fresh squeezed orange juice

So we laugh and we kiss and when it goes all a miss, we do it all over again

Let's just do it all over again Come on and do it all over again Let's turn this whole world upside down and do it all over again

Got sold a fake egg for 6 cents less, it's amazing we're still alive If you leave it to me, i'll use astrology to tell us how we'll survive And then she said if we kiss then you better marry this and there's not a single second to loose So I packed up my things to go and see what love brings cause there's no other choice to choose

We build it up, to bring it down Sand mandalas blown to the ground Pulled a card and it said to persevere So let's blow this joint and all get out of here!
