I was given a guitar track, which is a song a friend wrote. He gave it to me so I can work on it. First thing I did was figure out the chords. I'm not a keyboard player or piano player. I'm actually a guitar player / audio engineer. However, I try to play a bit of everything. I've never played much keyboard & am self taught. But while I was figuring out the chords to this song, I was feeling it. I decided to try play it without a click track or drums. This is how it came out. I didn't want to quantize or edit anything. This is just a raw performance. It was written for my late wife, Karen.

My Orange guitar amp was delivered the day of the same night I lost my wife of 24 years, Karen.

All day I was so excited. Couldn't wait to go home & try out my new amp. Before I got off work, I got the call that Karen had died. The amp sat in its box that night. Couldn't imagine playing at that time. The next day I made myself unpack it. First thing I did was write this for her. I needed to do SOMETHING in her memory. Music / a song is one gift I could still give her. This was the first time I played my electric guitar in a couple years. With the loss of my soulmate weighing so heavily on me, I wanted to capture this song for her, while I was as sad as I have ever been. Even though I was rusty, my emotions were so overwhelming, I figured it had to come out in whatever I played. If I could even play. That's when this tune came to me. Used my phone to record it quickly. I feel it captured some of what I was feeling at that moment. Please let me know if you feel anything when you hear this.
