A recent protest by UPS drivers in Texas prompted me to come on and explain why there is no air conditioning in the delivery trucks. It has always amazes me that the Teamster’s union allows this and then puts up what amounts to an informational picket about it. Here is a hint: The reason they don’t have air is the same reason some truck drivers work for free.

Netradyne has some new technology to add to their intrusive driver facing cameras that will awards you stars for things like stopping at a stop sign and maintaining your lane. How disrespectful is that? Very. It is touted as a way to reward good behavior but it is merely another misguided attempt by uniformed non-drivers to change behaviors. Don’t fall for what the ignorant know nothing’s are doing. Don’t download anything like this to any device you own. Simply refuse.
Should an old DUI stop your life forever? As much as I hate them, no. Tim Walz was arrested for DUI although he ultimately plead guilty to a lesser charge of reckless driving. The Republicans are all over this and blasting it everywhere. Don’t you think the Kamala Harris team already looked into it? Plus, it was in 1995. Should that haunt you forever? No, we should want people to improve. He says he stopped drinking after that and has had a clean record. That is a good thing. Bring up current issues and we can talk but this should be left where it is which is in the past.
A recent episode of On Patrol Live had a department stopping a truck driver who had parked directly in front of a sign that said no parking any time. Why do we do this? Drivers complain about the lack of truck parking but are willing to park illegally. Make your problem the company’s problem..The owner of the truck needs to locate safe and legal truck parking for employees. Do not break the law or nothing gets fixed.
We have some updates on the shooter and Blackrock. Remember, a conspiracy is no longer a theory when it is backed up by facts. This is what the main stream media won’t tell you. They don’t want Donald Trump and will do absolutely anything to see him not win.
An illegal who was hired as a truck driver had an accident that resulted in the death of a citizen. Tragic and it didn’t have to happen. He was hired by a company that has done this before. I have a solution for the illegal problem that Kamala Harris is doing nothing to fix.
Trump visits the National Association of Black Journalists. What could possibly go wrong? Well, I considering any organization that separated people by something they have no control over to be racist and or discriminatory. While membership does not seem to be restricted, the name says all you need to know.
AEB is unsafe and a Representative agrees with me. In 2025 the FMCSA is going to make it mandatory and I think it should be banned! There is no substitute for a safe driver.
Covenant Transportation asked for and received an exemption so they can allow a person with a commercial license permit to drive without a CDL licensed driver in the passenger seat. The licensed driver needs to be in the truck but not the seat. This in no way improves safety and I am against it.
Werner Enterprises has been in a court battle since 2011. A group of trainee driver allege Werner did not pay them for breaks and sleeper time, only $350 a week salary. The sleeper was thrown out but the break stuck and initially Werner lost and was ordered to pay $800000. Well, since math is hard the figures had to be refigured and were turned in late. Werner objected and has won three appeals based on that. Look at how much effort a trucking company will go through to not pay you. Think about it. I am not a lawyer and this is not legal advice. In the height of irony Lytx and Samsara are listed on the ATA website as sponsors of National Truck Driver Appreciation Week 2024. Hilarious. The American Trucking Association allows them to be a sponsor when, in my opinion, hardly any companies have done more to harm the trucking industry than these two. How many truck driver careers have been cut short by their wrong opinion? It is laughable for them to have anything to do with drivers.
President Biden has decided not to run for reelection. Well, his handlers decided it. What do you think about this: The attempt on President Trump was actually a message to President Biden to get out? Maybe? It was obviously set up. Those idiot Secret Service people can’t be that terrible. Kamala Harris will likely be the new nominee for the Democrat party.
I want you to think about a few things in a different way. The shooter in the attempted assassination knew which roof to get on. How? Who told him? Plus, he had no social media but communication encrypted? Think about these things as we watch President Trump recover.
The ATA has come out in support of drivers being independent contractors even though many of them are misclassified. The American Trucking Association just wants to see people succeed in their dream of truck ownership. My heart is warmed by this
Who chose Western Express to be on a safety panel? Well, here goes nothing. Would you want the maximum speed of your truck to change based on where you are? For instance, a yard is 15 mph. What if the truck turned its speed down to that there?
People complained about my position on TMC and the hair issue as I call myself a Libertarian. Those two things are not incompatible and I’ll show you why. Stop going to the government to solve your problems!
Should you give a two week notice before quitting your trucking company? Well, does the company value you and your time? Just because something is tradition doesn’t mean we should still do it. Also, as a bonus I tell you how to (hopefully) get your final paycheck!
TMC trucking a few years ago fired a black guy because he wouldn’t cut his hair. He filed a complaint with the civil rights commission and is now suing them. What does TMC do? Fire another black guy because of his hair. Does anyone at TMC have a brain? Who cares about his hair? I have long said no one should work here and I couldn’t believe it more now. The place seems full of immature military wanna be soldiers who couldn’t cut it. These were the hall monitors in school and they are the Sucuritas people of today. I’m not making my bed and I’m not cutting my hair so they can bite me.
Recently an assassination attempt against President Trump was carried out unsuccessfully. Was it some random goofball or was it set up either by the government or some group? President Biden will never tell us. Also, many liberals came out to comment that Trump deserves it for his policies. No he doesn’t! Don’t like him? Work to ensure he is not elected. We are not some third world country here. Or are we?
I saw a video of someone complaining about the HOS and how the government makes you drive after 10 hrs off. Not true at all. You drive when you are ready, not before. Grow a backbone and tell your company you need sleep.
I recently read an article about an Uber driver who was complaining about the amount he received for taking someone to the airport. OK, so what? Just like in trucking, he continues to take people so they continue to pay him the low amount. If you sit around without getting paid, don’t complain. Action is the only way. Let your fingers do the walking and find a better place. The reason trucking companies pay so little is because people accept the pay. You don’t get what you deserve, you get what you accept.
Are you ready for a level 8 electronic inspection? This is being tested in two states and will likely expand to the whole country. I go though it and give my thought and of course go off on a tangent about Lutz driver facing cameras.
Where do you go when there is no place to go? The Thirsty Goose, that’s where! Good idea or dumbest thing you’ve ever heard of? Let’s find out!
I am sick of these different pride months. When does it end? This month is disability pride month. You should not be proud of something you are. You should take pride in something you do. An accomplishment. A victory. If you were born a certain way, that is not something to be proud or ashamed of. It just is. Plus, you don’t need a flag for everything!
Drivers wrote and complained that there really aren’t any six figure jobs so I looked and found one in just a few minutes. How many are there if I really looked harder? Local driving jobs are around if you really want one. Go local and go home.
It is in the news. Should President Biden step down? Is it time to allow someone new to come in? Food for thought.
I see many drivers posting how great driving for Walmart is. Is it? Is it the only way to make six figures? If you have a family, should you be gone?
An accident where a driver is killed is headed to court and I agree. Please do not park in an unsafe manner no matter what the circumstances. If you are not parking in a legal spot leave your parking lights on. That could have saved this person. Safety first no matter the company rule.

Sunset Logistics abruptly shut down and left drivers around the country without a working fuel card. While I understand these things can happen, they knew full well what was going on. The same week they had no money for payroll they had four new hires getting started. This to me shows a lack of integrity that is so prevalent in the country today.

Let’s go in the way back machine and see how I got my start in trucking. I started just after deregulation and I will tell you it was a great move for me because I was working at Arby’s at the time and had really no future that I could see there. I wanted to get on the open road and see the sights! I did and now I go home everyday in a local job and love it. Put on your parachute pants and let’s go!

In a twist away from trucking I want to talk about third parties stealing votes from major party candidates. Is this true? Many of you may not know that I ran for office as a Libertarian candidate here in Indiana many years ago. Did I steal votes? No. People chose to vote for me. Same as in the presidential elections. People choose who they want to vote for. You need to earn every vote. Anyone can win if there are no other candidates. Biden actually asked Hilary Clinton of all people for advice! They are scared and should be that they may lose. Be the candidate people actually want to vote for not just the only one on the ballot.

Freightwaves recently came out with an excellent article about the trucker shortage and the fact that there isn’t one. The whole thing is made up and I agree. Of course, the American Trucking Association had to pipe in with their take on the shortage. The ATA is not right on this and I explain why using this and the fake teacher shortage that has been written about lately. As long as companies can keep trucks moving and have a 100% turnover there is no shortage.

It turns out the confidence in the military is at a low and no one can figure out why that might be. Do you have any ideas? It hasn’t been this low since 1997. Who was President then? The highest was in 2018. I wonder who the President was at that time. We talk about it.

A Deaf driver applied to Werner after completing Roadmaster truck driving school. Did you know Werner Enterprises owns Roadmaster? Anyway, he got an exemption and passed his DOT physical, passed truck school and applied to Werner. Werner said no thank you to him and he wasn’t having any of it. I totally agree. It would appear to me, who is not a lawyer, that the only reason Werner did not hire him is because he is Deaf. As you know I am learning American Sign Language so he could come work with me. He complained to the EEOC and after trying to reach a settlement they sued Werner and won. They had a jury.

Joe Madison does a show on XM and has a podcast. He has been a broadcaster for many years and I seldom agree with even one word of what he has to say. Today is no different. He had people calling in telling how much taxpayer money they were wrongly getting to pay their student loans off. Wonderful. This is the end of society when people can vote themselves the largess of others.

Is hourly pay for truck drivers safer than mileage pay? We try to find out. Walmart is now training people from their stores to be drivers. Why do they need to do that if it is such a great job? Elon Musk brings back President Trump to Twitter. There was a poll and ONLY 51% of people thought he should be allowed back. HUH? I thought this was America. I also bring you some quotes from the left that maybe are not completely true. Should they be banned from Twitter? To get women in to trucking we need clean trucks, trucks for short people and bigger fridges in the trucks. Nice. We all need that. Also, more transparent job postings which companies are NEVER going to do. A guy buys a Tesla and doesn’t run the heat so he can get more miles out of it. Brilliant. CRST and CR England trucking are settling a lawsuit for $2 MILLION total (Western Express already settled for $1.2 MILLION) over allegations that they basically black balled people out of trucking by not conspiring to not hire those on contract to other carriers. By the way, it did not go to trial, no one was found guilty and no wrongdoing is admitted by anyone. The plaintiffs allege that CRST and others conspired together to not hire drivers on contract to other carriers in violation of the law. In MY OPINION no one should ever work for these places. By continuing to work there you are helping them do this. I can help you avoid these scum companies with the link below. Also, Fed Ex Freight is going to furlough drivers!
