Isabelle, a French professor, an art student and a podcaster talks about whatever she feels like talking about....
A four minute podcast about Madeleine leaving home. It's been tough but I am handling it.
Painting cows is fun! Trying to keep up with summer postings is hard! I have a hard time talking, the words don't come as easily as I try to formulate my ideas.
Back at the beginning of August, I went to the Gore Street Café to listen to some open mic music. I talk about the summer, some of the stuff I've been doing. (It's cut a bit short...but they're "bits" for a reason! :-)
What it is that I am doing in terms of artwork this summer. Thanks for listening and this is my 100th episode. Ya!
I continue talking about my summer and what are some of my ideas for this Super 8 Workshop I will be taking soon.
I could not sleep last night, so I recorded 3 short casts. I went way back to 1987 last night. Things I wanted to do when I was young and that I am starting to do again at 48. Very fun! :-)
I think I was at the grocery store when I recorded this... Yes... I don't usually like recording in public but it's so loud there that I didn't feel too obvious recording in my phone.
This is another ukulele song I am practicing; hope I am not breaking your ears, "casser les oreilles"...ha ha! J'espère que je ne vous casse pas les oreilles. But If I am "cassing your oreilles" then I apologize.
I make mistakes and the pitch is not perfect but it's kind of cute (from my perspective) of course. Am I on America Idol? No. I'm a silly mom singing in her basement. Singing is good for the soul. Thanks for sharing with me.
New things in my life. Walking and recording and posting myself. Using Bosjoc studio with Dave's guidance.
Looking for a Partner for a Podcast about art. If you don't know about art it's ok, it would even be funnier.
In response to events that have transpired in Paris these last few days, I have decided to read Les Fleurs du Mal de Charles Baudelaire. I also made a melody on my ukulele... I thought the uke could never be sad but today it is. Thanks for listening
I decided not to get into an incident that happened last week. Life is too short! Then I talked about my paintings a bit. I am working on a Byzantine theme.
This is a paper I am writing for my Art History course on Claude Monet. I am not sure if it's good or bad. I am sure that it could be improved but I am running out of time.
I was awarded a service excellence plaque, which is awesome. Wishing you guys a good week... However it's already almost the weekend.
We were at Sleeping Giant campground over the last two days. I recorded these two stories with Jack. Enjoy!
Today I met famous artists David Garneau and Clement Yeh. I came out a bit rattled from this meeting that saw me un- prepared but ready to accept whatever would come because I am a risk-taker.
The summer language workshops started and I am busy doing all kinds of things in the backyard.
I am sooo busy! The language workshops are coming along well but sometimes I wonder what is it all for?
Just some thoughts sitting outside the Walking with our Sisters memorial, lodge, exhibition at Algoma University's Shingwauk Auditorium.
It's been an interesting week. Lots of talk about Algoma University's special mission in Northern Ontario
Good bye Easter!! We had a flood in the school's studio and I am so glad Easter is over.
I met Katie last year and she is probably my biggest influence... I just bonded with her, and struck a friendship. I got you babe!
Drawing is better when you can be in the real setting or own the real thing. I watched beetles in the Invasive Species Lab all afternoon.
This is a compilation of podcasts I made over the course of 10 days or so. Too busy making art!
The start of a new year has made me reflect on strong women. I also offer all my good wishes for the new year.
The Sabbatical. How proud we are of James... Keep going! And a sad song...mon amie la rose.
In this podcast I talk about the Art Gallery and the exhibits there right now. I also read some Arabic sentences I learned. Finally, I sing a song that I like "Don't fence me in." Enjoy this weird combo!
The notes: Today I remembered a story about going to see my grade 6 teacher at her house in Cap-Rouge. Did I mention that I am so happy to have finished my term? I get a little bit "feminist" in this one. Don't be mad! :-)
Write up: I explain what made me stop being part of podcasting a long time ago. Then, Jon heard me and I couldn't stop him from doing a chaotic story!
December 6th brought a small treasures sale at my university which I loved but it also brought the memory of a very sad day. Bonus: French song "à la claire fontaine."
Big thank yous to our dear Ken who spent some time with us. He sure gets loud when he smokes and drinks and sure loves to argue... Maybe as he said it's to release the pent up stress... But maybe it's just the way he is too! And we like him no matter the Decibel... Hhhh
Paintings, the William S. Paley collection at the Musée des beaux-arts, travelling alone, and my Mom.
Jon says: "can you stop the recording?" He doesn't like it when I sing..maybe he has a point. :-)
More on painting. I've made the move into the figurative and I will visit my professor's studio on Monday.
I made a "prayer banner" with a group of women. Painting is going well. Language Workshop emails are coming in. I will be going home to Québec City on Friday... I will be keeping in touch.
With the help of Yoga, Pilates, art, music, podcasting, writing and yess the Leela Kinnect game, I can walk better. Sitting is not so painful anymore. Living in a small town is difficult but I am finding ways to lead a good balanced life.
Sunday brings its share of madness in my house... I did this for Jeremy Cardiff. It's crazy but I just wanted to have it done so I could move on to my next project! Enjoy... Hahaha!
A stroll in the backyard. A painful hip is sending me to do yoga and pilates. A few things I understood about podcasting. Ukulele at the end: you don't have to listen. (La vie en rose, en français).
