SURPRISE! We're back for Advent Season 2023! The Lord put it on our hearts to press record this holiday season, so here we are! There's no time like the present (pun intended!) to talk about the gift of The Greatest Story ever told. Each week leading up to Christmas we'll talk about each character in the Birth of Jesus and how we can still learn from each of them today. First up, Mary and Joseph...Episode 1: Mary & Joseph | A Story of Humility It takes an effort on our part to change our perspective when things go “off script"...True Humility, and a laid down life for love, looks like letting God be the author and perfecter of our lives… He gets to write the story. He gets all the glory. And somehow he uses it ALL to shape us, mold us, and refine us to look more like Him.

That’s our prayer for ourselves as well!

Oh Holy Night - A night set apart.
On day 12 of our Advent series our dear friend @hannahsultemeier brings us the sweetest, gentle, HOPEful reminder that Jesus is exactly who He says He is.
In the story of Christmas, God used Mary, a normal woman who simply loved The Lord, because she was eager to trust God. And the best news? He's not finished. He wants to use you and I too! God wants to turn normal into Holy, in fact - it's what He does best.
"The God of the universe simply wants our full attention and for everyone to know this freedom. He wants to rescue us from this world and He created a rescue plan. He loves us and He has a plan for each of our stories. He has set us apart (holy) as His sons and daughters - do not forget that!" -Hannah

It's Week 3! This week our theme of Advent is the beautiful hymn, 'Oh Holy Night' ✨
“A thrill of hope, the weary world rejoices" I can’t help to think of how true these words feel to us all in 2020. The story told in today’s Gospel (Matthew 2: 1-12) is about people being called to follow their star in order to find the fullness of life only Jesus can give. “I came that they may have life, and have it abundantly” (John 10:10).
But what star are we choosing to follow? The Wise Men saw the star and steadily followed it to the King of Kings, and they "fell on their knees and heard the angels sing".
As we get closer and closer to Christmas Day, may we fall on our knees this week, in awe, in praise and in hope as we rejoice that Jesus Christ was born.

Hi BB’s! Amanda here. I’m so excited to share today’s Advent Episode 4, From Gift to Gift.
I kept thinking about the saying ‘From Glory to Glory’ and how God giving the ultimate gift of Jesus, His son, to us — is like the gift that keeps on giving. It truly is from one gift to the next. Growing up in church, I heard the Christmas story quite often… but if I’m honest there were years where I just pictured cute Baby Jesus in a manger with all the sweet little animals around him in the barn, and then just like that... I was ready to receive my own gifts under the tree.
This year I want to meditate on the story of what God truly gave us in the GIFT of Jesus.
He gave us Jesus, THE gift - which has trickled down into my own life - a gift in itself.
My marriage, a gift. My children, a gift. My health, a gift. This podcast, a gift. The phone I’m typing this on, a gift.

This week we are centering our lives on what it means to LONG for Jesus. To really truly desire His coming, and to make room in our hearts for His birth to carry the weight that it deserves! During a season known for its “hustle and bustle” we can’t manufacture longing… it takes time, prayer, fasting, focus, and daily obedience. Our prayer is that as you listen each day, our hearts are getting more and more focused on the “reason for the season.” Like Simeon & Anna, let our hearts burn to see Jesus come!
Advent Day 3 Scripture: The story of Mary and Joseph presenting Jesus tells us that Mary and Joseph were faithful Jews. Usually when Jewish parents presented a firstborn son in the Temple, they would offer a new lamb. However, Jewish law allowed those who were poor to offer two turtledoves. Simeon and Anna were faithful Jews who had waited all their lives for the Messiah. At the Temple, they recognized Jesus as the Promised One. • Simeon and Anna Luke 2:22-38

We all crave control - most often over the things that we actually can’t control at all. Control is the illusion that if we try hard enough we can manipulate our moments to play out exactly as we want them to. But what happens when they don’t?
