This is the "princess suite" by John Williams, comprising Princess Leia's theme from STAR WARS, Han Solo and the Princess from THE EMPIRE STRIKES BACK, and Luke and Leia from RETURN OF THE JEDI. We post this as a musical tribute to Carrie Fisher, who sadly passed away yesterday.
We're used to seeing the chestburster scene from ALIEN as a visually horrifying moment - the look of Kane and the splatter of blood as the alien erupts from his chest. But listening to the scene audio is perhaps even more disturbing, and an example of not only the great sound design work in the film, but also how integral sound is in horror cinema.
