What does a snake being lifted up on a pole have to do with Jesus saving us? Because that snake on a pole represented us in all our sin, our being under the curse. Jesus took our place in that condition. He didn't come to judge and condemn but to save, heal and deliver.
God's love for us is not only unconditional, it is sacrificial. It goes the extra mile even when we don't deserve it. This love is demonstrated in His ultimate gift and example to us: Jesus. God's love is "All In".
"For God so loved the world"... is something most of us have heard. A lot. But do we really understand? This kind of love is revolutionary. This kind of love is universe-altering. This kind of love is too good to be true...yet it is. And it belongs to each and every one of us.
Are we a sort of "quicksand" saved or are we actually, legally saved?! We all have our breaking point if we try to do it on our own. Instead, get that confession in your mouth! Jesus is Lord! I believe! I am justified. I am made right with God!
We are all in need of a savior. We can't do it on our own! Without Him, under our own power, we are just heroic failures.
We are justified, by faith, through Jesus Christ.....so are we still striving to earn...or surrendering to grace?
If we can really grab hold of the fact that we have been "justified" it will change the way we see everything!

To find out what honor is, it helps to look at what it isn't. Things like sarcasm, deflecting, and contradiction can be ways we dishonor God and the people in our lives.
How do we honor God? Value and esteem Him. Respect and admire Him. How do we take Him seriously? The scriptures tell us how.
Jesus talked about "the value of the kingdom of God"...It's worth. How it's a big deal and worthy of honor. How it's worth and value and importance, once discovered, will automatically cause a person to shift their priorities. Seek first the Kingdom of God!
We have been given the keys to the Kingdom....us...the church! And on the solid rock of Jesus Christ we stand and the gates of hell will not prevail against us!
The Kingdom itself was not a mystery. The secret was that before the kingdom "in person" came in judgment, the kingdom "in word" was going to come and spread across the whole world "to save" those who receive it. Like a mustard seed. Like a virus.....have you caught it?!
How does a little seed turn into a giant oak tree? There is a principle at work. The Kingdom of God at work is like the wind...you can't see it but you can see its effects.

Christ wasn't Jesus' last name or his first name. The word Christ is directly connected to the word Messiah..which is directly connected to the kings of Israel..who were anointed to be king..which is what the word messiah means..which is what the word Christ means. The Anointed One!!! Our King!
Salvation is not something you pray for...it is someone you submit to! Your King and Savior!

"Tik-Vaw" is the Hebrew word for hope. It is a seeing Hope. Which means, you are seeing something future wise and have locked onto it and you are confidently expecting that it will happen! This kind of hope brings shalom...peace.
Hope is a life source. A source for which life, vision, inspiration, and rejuvenation can be found. Hope not only starts life, it brings things back to life. Even if that something is in the midst of a dry and weary dessert.
