Galatians 5:16 says, if we walk in the Spirit, we will “not fulfill the desires of the flesh.” Join Carlos Rivera for Walking in the Spirit and receive weekly key motivators to avoid the pitfalls of negativity, selfishness, unhealthy behaviors, and sin and press forward to your full potential. Carlos says, “It’s not enough to DESIRE something; you have to DO something.” We can live a life of purpose and blessing when we focus on God’s plan instead of our problems and preferences.
Throughout the Bible, miracles serve as affirmations of God's presence, revealing His divine authority and compassion in action. From parting the Red Sea to healing the sick, these miraculous convey profound truths about God's character and His relationship with the world. Miracles invite us to recognize His sovereignty and inspire us to trust in His promises. Ultimately, the greatest miracle is the salvation offered through Jesus Christ, which exemplifies God's desire to restore and redeem His creation. By believing in the God of Miracles, we are encouraged to embrace faith and witness the extraordinary workings of divine grace in their lives.
Putting your confidence in Christ means embracing the assurance that His strength and faithfulness are the foundation of our identity and purpose. In a world that often measures worth by accomplishments and appearances, confidence rooted in Christ offers a profound sense of security and peace.
The Bible instructs us to be “quick to listen, slow to speak, and slow to anger” (James 1:19-20). Carlos Rivera advises us to screen our thoughts before they become words—“if youspeak when you're angry, you'll make the best speech that you will ever regret.”
To declare God's truth with conviction, we must first possess a deep understanding of that truth; without knowledge, our declarations lose their power and authenticity. Understanding God's word allows us to confidently proclaim His promises and purposes in our lives. Speaking God's will in our lives and into the lives of others is both an act of faith and a proclamation of the life-giving power inherent in His Word, emphasizing that true transformation begins with understanding and knowing Him deeply.
Proverbs 16:3 reminds us, “Commit to the LORD whatever you do, and he will establish your plans.” By surrendering our desires to God's will, we commit to pursuing a life infused with purpose and faith.
When you sow God's Word spoken by God into your own mind, you are sowing all you need to strengthen and sustain your mind, body, and soul. Sow life! Sow light! Sow hope!
Prayer changes everything; it changes situations, and it transforms our spirits. Get ready to pop your prayer into Turbo-Drive with host, Carlos Rivera – “Fasting is an act that shows you are hungrier for God than for food.” If you need a move from God so badly that you are willing to deny yourself, get ready for your breakthrough miracle!
Carlos Rivera has encouraging news: “God's better days are ahead of you. Go forward, believe God for greater things. The Lord is going to do awesome stuff in our lives!”
No matter what the situation, our goal is to remain spiritually grounded and sensitive to the Holy Spirit while reflecting Christ-like qualities in our responses. Pastor Carlos Rivera reminds us to
Turning from sin often means knowing God's will and righting our behavior to align with His values. It's not always easy, but taking small, intentional steps toward obedience and forgiveness can bring peace and purpose.
Carlos Rivera reminds us to keep our hope and trust in the Lord, no matter what life throws our way. Philippians 4:13 says, "I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me." Keep that strength close and let His love guide you!
Since the command to Adam & Eve in the garden, God has called us to multiply. Carlos Rivera is showing us practical ways to grow, contribute, and nurture ourselves and others in every area of our lives.
Spiritual warfare is often described as the struggle against spiritual forces of evil that can influence our thoughts, actions, and lives. It is an ongoing battle between good and evil through negative thoughts and temptations, emotional struggles, and life challenges. Pastor Carlos reminds us today that the ultimate battle was won at the cross and we have everything needed to fight off the enemy.
Faith in God provides a sense of purpose, direction, and strength to navigate life's challenges and fulfill your calling. Faith offers hope and resilience, and will keep you on your path in spite of obstacles or distractions. Trust and keep moving!
Honoring the Lord can deeply impact our daily lives by providing guidance and purpose, fostering inner peace, and maintaining a strong moral compass. It connects us with a supportive community and builds resilience during tough times. Additionally, it instills a sense of joy and gratitude by recognizing and giving thanks for our blessings. By incorporating these principles into our routines, we can lead more fulfilling and purposeful lives.
In tough times, God's love and goodness can give us hope and strength. Even when life is hard, His love is always there, offering comfort and support. By praying, reflecting on blessings, and relying on a faith community, we can feel God's presence and know we are not alone. His love helps us find light and hope, even in the darkest moments.
No matter the circumstances that surround you today, God is pulling you within your purpose. Choose less of you and more of Christ and watch the Lord move mightily in and through your life.

Ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and the door will be opened to you. For everyone who asks receives, and the one who seeks finds, and to the one who knocks, the door will be opened.” (Matthew 7:7-8, NIV)
In prayer, we follow this progression: asking, seeking, and knocking. It’s not just about receiving what we desire; it’s about aligning our hearts with God’s purposes. As we engage in this process, we discover that God’s answers often exceed our requests, and His open doors lead to unexpected blessings.
Are you dragging around the heaviness of your history? In Walking in the Spirit, host Carlos Rivera reminds us, “the environment of your past does not have to be the atmosphere of your future.” We are crushing discouragement and doubt today and establishing an atmosphere for miracles! Forget the past while making good use of its lessons.
The way we talk to ourselves can influence our mindset, emotions, and overall well-being. Speak what God says about you and your life. Remind yourself of your inherent worth and potential in Christ: "I am wonderfully made" and "I am loved and valued."
As we begin this new year, many of us feel a renewed sense of optimism and determination. We will flourish instead of merely survive. Pastor Carlos Rivera gives us three Keys to Thrive in '25!
Fasting is one of the most influential spiritual disciplines we can practice. Prayer, combined with fasting, shuts out the things of the flesh, even its basic needs, to open more fully to the things of the Spirit through communion with God. As you make fasting a part of your life, you'll start seeing a huge impact.
Start the new year by incorporating these discipline boosters into your routine. This will strengthen your relationship with God and help you grow in your faith throughout the year.
God is eager for us to use our words to bring encouragement and strength to life. Today use your words to praise Him, to give Him glory and honor by preaching the gospel and sharing the love of Christ. Share the true meaning of Christmas and remember that God is paying attention to what you say.
Carlos Rivera examines the spiritual and communal benefits of confessing our sins and struggles to God and one another.
Carlos Rivera helps us discover how simple acts of kindness and unwavering faith can create lasting positive experiences, deepen our spiritual journey, and spread God's light in everyday moments.
Persecution may come in various forms, but let it strengthen your determination to live out your faith and share it with others. Despite any hardships, trust in God and remain dedicated to spreading your faith, serving as an inspiration for your community.
God loved us so much that He was willing to sacrifice His Son to save us. This is the central tenet of our Christian lives. Carlos Rivera reignites our Gospel passion with this beautiful truth – “He paid a debt He did not owe because I owed a debt I could not pay.”
Words hold immense power—they can build up or tear down, heal or hurt. For Christians, the emphasis on words is even greater because they reflect faith, convey love, and share the message of the Gospel. James 3:5-6 talks about the tongue being a small part of the body but capable of great impact, underscoring the responsibility that comes with speech.
Using words wisely means choosing kindness, truth, and encouragement, reflecting the love and teachings of Christ in everyday interactions. It's a call to be mindful of how words can shape, influence, and inspire others.
Fasting and praying for our nation is a powerful practice. It allows us to collectively seek guidance, healing, and blessings for our country. As we embark on this journey, let us focus our prayers on specific issues and areas that are important to us - whether it's the leaders, communities, struggles, or hopes of the nation. This is a chance to strengthen our faith and address the collective needs of our country.
“Before God shifts you to a higher level, a higher dimension in Him, there will likely be a battle. The battle causes something on the inside to get tougher, your faith to become more prominent. When you fight and win, not only do you gain ground, but you can now keep the ground.” – Carlos Rivera
Christians have a responsibility to protect and cherish the most vulnerable, including the unborn. It is not about politics, but about following the teachings of Jesus who emphasized love and compassion for all life. Defending the unborn reflects God's heart for justice and mercy and is a testament to our faith and legacy of love.
Troubles -- we've been here before. Carlos Rivera reminds us that God is always with us amid the issues and the challenges. When faith is tested, the pressure extracts the fruit of patience, and patience prepares for growth. Whatever you face, the outcome is more than survival with God on your side – increase your capacity to receive the overflow. It’s coming.
Carlos Rivera says, “Life happens in the context of relationships,” so choose wisely. In this episode, Carlos will be talking about the areas of relationships, obedience, and finances, essential in putting our lives in order as we enter the last quarter of 2024.
To activate God’s healing power, believe what God says in His word that “by His stripes you were healed” (1 Peter 2:24). The moment you come into agreement with this, healing has begun.
In times of uncertainty, it’s comforting to remember that God knows what lies ahead. As Psalm 139:16 reminds us, “Your eyes saw my unformed body; all the days ordained for me were written in your book before one of them came to be.” This means that even when our future seems unclear or daunting, God has already mapped out our path. His plans are always greater than ours, and He is with us every step of the way, guiding us through both the joyous and challenging moments.
The first step in embarking on your mission, is embracing God’s vision. In this podcast episode, Carlos Rivera will get you moving in your calling at home, school, and work – “Your place of employment is your position of deployment.” Go in confidence knowing your steps are ordered of God (Psalm 37:23).
One of the core principles of Christianity is kindness, deeply rooted in the teachings of the Bible. Here are some key points that highlight its significance:
Reflecting God's Nature: Kindness reflects God's love and mercy. Ephesians 4:32 urges us to "be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving each other, just as in Christ God forgave you."
Loving Our Neighbors: Jesus emphasized the importance of loving our neighbors, which includes showing kindness to all individuals, even those who may be challenging to love. In Matthew 22:39, Jesus states, "Love your neighbor as yourself."
Transformative Power: Acts of kindness can make a profound impact on others, often leading to positive changes in their lives. Proverbs 16:24 says, "Gracious words are like a honeycomb, sweet to the soul and healing to the bones."
Compassion and Forgiveness: Kindness entails showing compassion, caring for the vulnerable, and demonstrating forgiveness and grace. Colossians 3:12-13 reminds us to "clothe yourselves with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience. Bear with each other and forgive one another.
Jesus said that He did not come to the earth to be served, but to serve. He lived the truth that the place of true honor is not where people bow at your feet; it is proven in kneeling to wash another’s feet. In this week’s episode, Carlos River encourages us to “realize that all of our skill and talents are gifts from God to be used to His glory to His honor not to be leveraged for power prestige or position.”
If you give God your attention, He will exceed your expectations. Carlos Rivera prompts us to “nurture the vision of possibilities” by speaking faith for the future instead of failures from the past.
Today's teaching is based on Psalm 139:23-24 --
"Search me, God, and know my heart; test me and know my anxious thoughts.See if there is any offensive way in me, and lead me in the way everlasting."
Being God’s representative on earth is a profound and multifaceted role. Here are some key aspects:
1. Reflecting God’s Image
2. Exercising Authority
3. Sharing God’s Love
4. Living by Example
5. Community and Fellowship
6. Continuous Transformation
7. Humility and Service
In essence, being God’s representative is about embodying His love and principles in every aspect of life. It’s a high calling that requires dedication, faith, and a heart for service.
Carlos Rivera warns us to guard well the picture of God’s love and grace placed in your heart by the Holy Spirit. If you have become distracted, disrupted, and discouraged, focus on God’s goodness; Praise the Lord for what He has done and worship Him for who He is. You will find purpose there.

Aligning yourself with God is a profound journey that involves several key steps:
Difficult times can be challenging, but they also offer opportunities for growth, resilience, and learning. Just as a blacksmith tempers iron in the hottest fire, adversity can shape our character and strengthen our resolve.
In Christianity, the good news is that God has reconciled us to Himself through Jesus. It’s not just the beginning of the Christian life; it’s an ongoing journey of faith and transformation. As we embrace this message, we find purpose, hope, and the promise of eternal life.
Integrity is about being whole, undivided, and morally pure. It’s a virtue that Christians strive to embody in our daily lives, guided by biblical principles and the example set by Jesus himself
Following Christ may require giving up present comforts and enduring trials, but leads to eternal rewards that surpass earthly gains. The reward is not just a destination but a transformation that begins the moment we decide to walk in faith, shaping our character and destiny in profound ways.
Matthew 7:21 says, “Not everyone who says to me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter the kingdom of heaven, but the one who does the will of my Father who is in heaven.”
Mere verbal acknowledgment is not enough to enter the Kingdom of Heaven; actions in accordance with God's will are crucial.
God loves you and desires to be your number one priority. Sometimes, He isolates us to get our attention and remind us to prioritize our relationship with Him. God may isolate us to protect us from harmful influences or distractions. Amidst the busyness of life, it’s essential to make time for God.
By setting clear goals, eliminating distractions, and prioritizing based on what's most important to the Lord, we will see results for our efforts. Remember, consistency and perseverance are crucial. Stay motivated and keep going!
Through your trust in God's power, you tap into a wellspring of energy and capabilities beyond what you thought was possible. When you feel like giving up, your faith gives you the strength to take one more step forward.
Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy and my burden is light. (Matthew 11:28-30, NIV)
Being God’s ambassador means living out our faith authentically, embodying Christ’s love, and inviting others into a relationship with Him.
Perseverance in the Lord is staying faithful despite trials and tribulations, trusting in God's plan and timing. It requires unshakeable hope and strength through prayer, reflection, and community. Every challenge becomes a chance to demonstrate unwavering faith and witness His transformative power.
Follow these steps to understand and follow God's plan:
Pray regularly, pouring out your heart and seeking guidance.
Read the Bible to discover His truths and let them guide your decisions.
Meditate on Scripture to internalize its wisdom and shape your thoughts and actions.
Listen for God's guidance through unexpected sources.
Seek wise counsel from trusted mentors who know Him well.
Remember that everyone's plan is unique and trust in God's goodness as you walk in faith towards experiencing His glory in your life.
Making prayer a priority is essential for nurturing our spiritual life and deepening our relationship with God. It’s not about perfection; it’s about consistency and authenticity. May your conversations with God become a source of comfort, guidance, and transformation in your life.
“Ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and the door will be opened to you.
The power of obedience echoes throughout history, captivating those who seek guidance and believe in a higher purpose. It demands surrender, the ability to listen to and follow a narrow path, overflowing with love, and enduring through hardships. Obedience holds the key to revival.
As a Christian, facing persecution can be one of the most challenging experiences you may encounter. Whether it involves ridicule, discrimination, or even physical harm, understanding how to respond in a way that honors God and keeps you rooted in your faith is crucial.
Most of us spend our entire lives trying to earn acceptance. 1 Peter 2:9 says, “You are a chosen people." Christ has accepted you — not based on your performance, something that you earned, or something that you deserve, but because of His love for you!
Friends can influence our behavior, our faith, and our growth as followers of Christ. Choosing friends wisely is important because it affects their relationship with God and their witness to others. God wants Christians to have friends who will help them love Him more and serve Him better. He also wants them to be friends who will reflect His love and grace to the world.
Dreams and goals are important for every Christian, as they reflect the desires and plans that God has for us. Dreams and goals are not just about worldly success or personal achievement but about fulfilling our God-given purpose and glorifying Him in everything we do.
Prayer, praise and passion are essential for our spiritual growth and maturity. They are also powerful weapons against the enemy and the world. They can help us overcome temptations, trials, and troubles. They can help us experience the presence, power, and peace of God. They can help us fulfill our purpose and destiny in God.
Being teachable is crucial for Christians seeking to grow in their faith and obedience to God. It requires humility, a willingness to learn from others and seek wisdom from God's word. A teachable Christian relies on God's guidance and correction, is open to feedback from fellow believers, and strives to bear the fruit of the Spirit in all their actions to glorify God.
Spending time in the presence of God can open up many opportunities for personal growth, spiritual development, and social connection. By being in God's presence, we can experience His love, grace, and peace, and learn more about His character, will, and plan. We can also receive guidance, wisdom, and strength from God to face the challenges and opportunities of life.
Surrounding yourself with godly and positive people and influences can have a profound impact on your life. The Bible tells us that “evil company corrupts good habits” (1 Corinthians 15:33) and that “he who walks with wise men will be wise, but the companion of fools will be destroyed” (Proverbs 13:20). Cultivate supportive relationships that inspire, uplift, and challenge and limit exposure to negative influences. Remember, the people around you make a difference in your life, either positive or negative. You decide.
Faithprovides hope, strength, and comfort during challenging times. Faith also helps people find meaning in their lives and may lead to personal transformation and growth.
Faith is an essential part of life for many people. It is the belief in something that cannot be seen or touched, but is felt deep within. Faith can provide a sense of purpose, hope, and comfort during difficult times.
Prayer is a way of communicating with God, expressing our gratitude, asking for His help, and aligning our will with His. Set your day on course by starting it with a conversation with Your Father.
Change is inevitable, but how we respond to it is up to us. We can choose to resist it and suffer, or we can choose to embrace it and thrive. Embracing change is not easy, but it is necessary and rewarding. It can help us grow, learn, and adapt. It can also help us create a better and happier life.
God is still a sovereign God, and our modern world has not somehow minimized His ability to act in miraculous ways.

God allows difficulties in our lives to shape us and make us more like Christ. He places us strategically to bring a solution through us for our good and His glory.
As followers of Christ, we are responsible for proper management of God's creation and giving generously to those in need. We can do this by standing up for ministries that support the poor, living humbly and sustainably, and donating our skills and possessions. In doing so, we honor God, love our neighbors, and show His kingdom principles.
Staying consistent in your Christian walk is important for several reasons: it shows your obedience to God, helps you grow in faith, enables you to overcome trials, brings peace and joy, and impacts others around you. Thus, staying consistent not only benefits you, but also God's kingdom.“Walking in the Spirit” Store Walking in the Spirit Devohttps://checkout.square.site/merchant/ML721NZ7K9ZT0/checkout/S3VONWO6MZGJBNWTEIDDTWLJ WITS tshirthttps://checkout.square.site/merchant/ML721NZ7K9ZT0/checkout/SAHGIH35JL3MFYUTL3KV2J75
As a Christian, it is important to be debt-free. Debt can cause us to compromise our values and limit our ability to serve God, damage relationships, and bring stress. Being debt-free brings peace and freedom to pursue God's calling, have healthier relationships, and experience financial freedom.
Everything good in our lives comes from God. Remember that God is your Source—the perfect and on-time Source for everything you could ever need or want.
Words have the ability to hurt or empower, and God uses them to create. As Christians, we are called to use our words to build others up and speak truth in love. Our words have the power to change lives and bring hope. We should strive to use them wisely.

Kindness goes beyond simple acts of charity to uplift and inspire others, creating a sense of community and unity. Through kind acts, we can show the power of their faith and encourage others to do the same.
When times are tough, Christians can find strength and resilience in the promises of God. By fixing our hope in Him, we will find renewed strength beyond physical endurance. Practical ways to apply these truths include cultivating a vibrant prayer life, immersing ourselves in His Word, and surrendering control to God.
Christian joy is powerful and transformational. It comes through salvation in Jesus Christ and can be expressed even when the world around us is scary or divisive. Despite society shifting in response to the pandemic, Jesus still sits victorious on the throne. This allows our souls to cartwheel with confidence. We are promised that we can have joy because of Jesus, and Paul shares this truth with us in Philippians. His transformational joy can be summarized in four words: “To live is Christ.” When Jesus is at our center, we can cartwheel without fear. Our burdens are lightened, and we align ourselves with The One who was there at creation.
Patience is an essential virtue in the Christian faith. The book of James says, “My brethren, count it all joy when you fall into various trials, knowing that the testing of your faith produces patience. But let patience have its perfect work, that you may be perfect and complete, lacking nothing”. Patience is not just about waiting for something to happen; it is also about how we wait. It involves a mindset of trust, hope, and perseverance.

Rebelling against God is disobeying or resisting His will. Disobedience may stem from a misguided view of God or a lack of trust in His goodness. Acknowledge God’s sovereignty and justice, repent, and submit to Him. God wants us to live in harmony with Him and enjoy His presence.

Positioning yourself in Christ to receive your miracle is the process of aligning your heart, mind, and actions with the will and Word of God. It involves trusting in His promises, surrendering your situation to Him, and expecting Him to do the impossible in your life.
Do you want to experience more of God’s love, grace, and presence in your life? Do you want to grow in your faith and intimacy with Him? Discover how to love God with all our heart, soul, mind, and strength, and how to live a life of devotion to Him.
Psalm 37:4 🔥 “Delight yourself in the Lord, and he will give you the desires of your heart.”
Proverbs 3:5-6 🔥 “Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight.”
John 3:16 🔥 “For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.”
Forgiveness is the key to freedom because it allows us to let go of the past and move on with our lives. When we forgive someone who has hurt us, we are not condoning their actions or forgetting what they did, but we are releasing ourselves from the burden of resentment and anger. Forgiveness frees us from the negative emotions that can poison our relationships and our well-being. Forgiveness also helps us to heal and grow as human beings, because it enables us to learn from our experiences and empathize with others. Forgiveness is not always easy, but it is always worth it.
Christian mentors guide us, encourage us, and challenge us to grow in our faith. They are people who have walked with God for many years and have learned valuable lessons from their experiences. They are people who love us unconditionally and pray for us faithfully. They share their wisdom, insights, and testimonies and help us apply God’s Word to our lives. Value your teachers and honor them with your life.
An encouraging word can have a powerful impact on someone’s life. It can inspire them to pursue their dreams, overcome their challenges, and feel valued and appreciated. An encouraging word can also heal wounds, mend relationships, and restore hope. An encouraging word is a gift that we can give to anyone, anytime, and anywhere. It costs nothing but can mean everything.🎁
Letting God fight our battles means trusting Him to do what only He can do. It means acknowledging that He is the Lord of all and that He loves us enough to defend us from our enemies.
The Holy Spirit is my helper, a gift from God to believers. He comforts, encourages, lifts, teaches, and guides me. He is also called the Comforter, Advocate, Helper, or Counselor. He is God’s Spirit inside me, who helps me to do things that please God and fulfill His purpose for my life.

The power of joy in Christ stems from an inner strengthening from our relationship with Him. The joy that is found in God’s presence isn’t static; it transforms and regenerates us. And it is a choice.
God does not waste our pain, but uses it to shape us into the image of Christ. Through difficulties, He tests our faith, our purpose, and our obedience. He teaches us to rely on Him and not on ourselves, and He prepares us for the crown of life that He promises to those who love Him. When we face adversity, we can trust that God is working for our good and His glory.
Just like the ram took Isaac’s place on the altar, Jesus is our sacrifice. In Him, our lives are spared from God's judgment. We don't have to be concerned about our future. We must hold to a faith that says, “God will always provide for my needs and He has made a way.”
Delighting in the Lord must be the priority in our lives. Put nothing before Him. God has a perfect plan, trust it, live it, and enjoy it.
By faith we've already overcome every challenge —physical, emotional, or spiritual. The Word of God pierced through the darkness on the cross, overcoming every scheme of the enemy. Put your trust in that truth and your hope in the Lord.
When we pray the Word, we are reminding ourselves of God’s promises and His faithfulness.
Change requires action. Today Carlos encourages you to “be stubborn” in the pursuit of your goals. “When you need to change your life, you will do whatever it takes to touch Jesus.”
Fear is one of the tools the enemy uses to discourage us and drain us of our power. Whenever you hesitate, pray and believe God. Pray His Word and believe His Word and you will step out equipped and anointed. When you’re walking in the Spirit, you are walking in victory.
The Lord knows that each day holds a helping and a half of stress. But Jesus said, “Come to me.” There it is. There's the invitation. “Come to me all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me. For I am gentle and humble at heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.” Only in Christ can our burdens really be lifted when we turn it over to Him.
As long as you remain obedient, God will use the desires He put in your heart. He will bless you when His desires become your hopes for the future. Don’t just dream your dream — declare it!
When we advance God's Kingdom, God will begin to do supernatural things in our lives. Miracles will start to manifest; one miracle is worth a thousand sermons.
Refuse to panic. The second book of Chronicles tells us we do not need to fear or be dismayed for the Lord is with us. He is fighting our battles and will deliver us from whatever sets itself up as our enemy. We don't need to panic. God is with us.
It’s easy to put our focus on our trials and our challenges. It’s easy to get caught up in the situation and lose track of God’s greatness. But when you praise the Lord during your battle, it becomes an invitation for Him to intervene. Your praise will ignite and invite God!
Walking in the Spirit Podcast Carlos Rivera Episode 83: Reevaluate Your Goals March 24, 2023 Reevaluate your goals and your status; identify the folks who are advancing you or hindering what God has put in your heart. Don’t expect a 3x5 relationship to hold your 16x20 dream.
Overscheduling yourself can wreak havoc on your health and relationships. Even Jesus stepped away from the demands of His earthly ministry to rest and restore in the presence of the Father. Taking needed downtime is not a luxury or laziness; rest is necessary to being efficient and effective and avoid burnout.
When was the last time you tried something new? Carlos Rivera encourages you to go out of your way to expose yourself to new things and it will totally change the way you live. Don’t believe it? Try at least one new thing every single day for a month and see what happens. It’s a challenge we encourage you to take. Continue to acquire knowledge and ask God for the wisdom to know how to use it.
Many people come to the altar weeping and crying out because they know they're not right with God. Then they go about their lives as they did before their encounter with Jesus. But that is not repentance. Repentance is a change of the mind that leads to a turn-around in direction. “Repentance is not when you cry; it's when you change.”
Just remember that “yesterday” is your history of successes. You’re still standing. You are still here. That is a testimony to the goodness and the faithfulness of God.
Carlos Rivera is getting Powerfully Practical today in the area of value-based scheduling. He says, “You will never unlock your potential until your priorities become habitual.” Whatever you think about and talk about will be magnified in your eyes, so be intentional about what you allow to become a priority.
In today's episode, Carlos Rivera raises the bar in the areas of Integrity, Generosity, and Discerning the Signs of the Times. It's time to stop playing church, get right, and get ready!
Do not procrastinate. Your tomorrow is being decided right now. What you get done today will continue to be productive. Your current actions are seeds that are moving into your future. So let me ask you a question -- What are the seeds that you're constantly planting, believing that God is gonna bless you?
“Do you feel like the heat’s being turned up? The challenges are getting more and more difficult must mean that you're getting closer to your blessing. Don’t give up. Dig your heels in, put your head down, and begin to push back. The enemy knows you are close to your victory, but he cannot prevent it!”
God is eager for us to use our words to bring encouragement and strength to life. Today use your words to praise Him, to give Him glory and honor by preaching the gospel and sharing the love of Christ. Before opening your mouth, remember that God is paying attention to what you say.
When you proclaim God's promises over each situation in your life, you prove that you are standing on what He said, and it honors Him. Not only is He pleased but speaking God’s Words increases your faith.
Speaking of the Body of Christ, Paul wrote to the Ephesians, “…that He might sanctify and cleanse it with the washing of the water by the word” (Ephesians 5:26). God's Word speaks to our hearts and manifests good things inside of us as we read it. It is alive and active; the voice and direction of the Father.
Jesus promised us rest. Only in Christ can our burdens be lifted; only in Him can we find help and strength in the greatest times of need.
God's Word contains the keys to revival. We must open our hearts and our lives in such a way that God is able to pour out revival at this time. It's time to keep the fire burning.
Your passion and fire for God should be so hot that people around you, people who speak with you, people who interact with you, and people who do business with you should all catch that fire.
Complete freedom comes from total surrender. When the pressures of life get tough, it can be easier to slide back into old ways of coping and comforting. Galatians 5:1 says, “Stand fast therefore in the liberty by which Christ has made us free, and do not be entangled again with the yoke of bondage.”
Being led by the Spirit may take us through uncomfortable places where God needs us to be to prepare us. God will increase your effectiveness sometimes by leading you through the wilderness.
God has given each of us experiences and talents to enrich our lives and fulfill a need in the body of Christ and for those we encounter. Ask the Lord to show you how your blessings can become someone else’s answer to prayer. Lift those around you, encourage them when they trip, and help them toward their victory.
Proverbs 12:15 says, “The way of a fool is right in his own eyes but he who heeds counsel is wise.” When we surround ourselves with Godly people, we don’t need to look far for wise counsel, but we have to recognize we need it. Carlos Rivera says, “Wisdom comes from being humble enough to know you don't have all the answers."
Heaven is a real place. If you are born again, Paradise is in your future; but, while you are on earth, your assignment is to make Heaven real for others. Go out today and preach salvation and minister the Word of God. As Carlos says, “The only thing better than going to Heaven is taking a bunch of people with you.”
In the end times, the Bible speaks of a “remnant” who form their minds, not by the systems of this world, but through the Holy Spirit. Pray today that you will not be swayed by opinions, but stand firm on the omnipotent Word of God.
"When we follow Jesus’ words and teachings, we are led through wisdom, because Christ is the Way, the Truth, and the Life. Wisdom is not found in a philosophy; it is found in a person—the person of Jesus Christ.”
If any of you lacks wisdom, you should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to you. — James 1:5, NIV

Jeremiah 29:11 is a familiar verse to many of us: “For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future” (NIV) God is always thinking about it you; thinking good things toward you, moving ahead of you and preparing a you’re your steps are ordered of God, and you are always on His mind.

Paul writes, “whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is just, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is commendable, if there is any excellence, if there is anything worthy of praise, think about these things” (Philippians 4:8, ESV). Our minds are the birthplace, the beginning point, for everything we do. Within our thought-life lies our position of strongest influence before we act. Do not miss the opportunity to put your thoughts in their proper place: treasure or trash.

It is impossible to obey God unless we know His voice. Often, God will choose to use people to deliver His message – even people we don’t necessarily click with. Honor God by respecting His chosen vessel and do not let the noise of the world drown out the voice of God.

In Jesus’ ministry, He commanded diseases in all forms to leave the bodies of their sufferers. He spoke to people’s bodies to be healed of their brokenness, blindness, and deafness according to their faith. Today, we can do these and greater things. Carlos Rivera encourages you in this episode to stand firm in the Name of Jesus against whatever may be coming against you.
Psalm 23:6 says, “Surely goodness and mercy will follow me all the days of my life…” Mercy is the act of withholding a deserved punishment. Because of God’s mercy, we do not receive the punishment our sin warrants. Instead, His grace gives us a gift we did not earn — salvation and abundant life of purpose and blessings.

Merriam-Webster defines hypocrisy as “the practice of claiming to have moral standards or beliefs to which one's own behavior does not conform.” The Bible relates this pretense to yeast in how it affects and infects others as it spreads. Carlos Rivera warns us, “Don't let your lips and your lives preach two different messages.”
No matter what you may be going through, God’s glory awaiting us will make our momentary struggles insignificant. When you are hurt, stressed, anxious, or confused, get with God. One moment in His presence is worth a thousand sermons. Do you need a miracle? Just lift up the name of Jesus!
It is a new day, a fresh chapter. Today, change your tune and sing a new song. Declare the goodness of God. Speak to body and soul — Bless the Lord, oh, my soul. All that is within me, bless His holy name!
Don't be discouraged because the battle is difficult. Just know that God is working it out in your favor, knowing that even the struggles are part of God's plan to strengthen you. Soon you will see the harvest begin to manifest itself and you will have the endurance to reap what you have sown.
It is going to be a blessed day! Did you know the moment you declare God’s goodness over your life, your words ring out into the corridors of eternity? Not only does your environment change, but your mind, and attitude change. When you focus on the goodness of the Father, everything around you will begin to shift and joy will rise up within you.

Words are poison or power; they are toxic or a healing tonic and faith-speaking. Are you destructive in complaining or creative through gratitude? Be around people who speak life, and detach your attitude from disbelief. Be thankful that you serve a miracle-working God.

Pain is discomfort created by disorder; Sometimes, God gets our undivided attention when we go through a painful circumstance or a time of delay. There are two types of pain — agony that hurts you and anguish that changes you. Learn to wait and work through the discomfort, and you will receive a life of peace, abundance, and healing.
C.S. Lewis said, “Hardships often prepare ordinary people for an extraordinary destiny.” To secure your future, you must endure the present. Do not give up; endure to the end and be saved (Matthew 10:22).
Today, envision a future that is so big that the past disappears. What God has in front of you is greater than any obstacle you will overcome.
In this episode of “Walking in the Spirit,” Carlos Rivera reminds us that often “what seems like rejection is really God’s redirection.” Keep looking forward, and don’t forget to laugh.
Do you desire to serve the church? God is looking for those who will seek wisdom and knowledge for the purpose of caring for others. If you have the heart to live and lead in wisdom and integrity as Solomon did, do not be surprised if God answers your prayer granting wisdom and so much more.
God is greater than anything we may go through. When we are in the presence of the Lord, we realize that the suffering we go through is nothing compared to His comfort and His glory. This world throws up many obstacles, but we are overcomers through the Holy Spirit.
When we are sincerely and honestly thankful for what God has done in our lives, we will see an even greater blessing. “It is not happiness that makes us grateful, it’s gratefulness that makes us happy.” Dalai Lama
The apostle Paul rejoiced when he was imprisoned. He knew a little something about choosing gratitude over griping and, as a result, the bars of his prison swung open wide. No matter your circumstances, choose today to be joyful because your name is written in the Lamb’s Book of Life. You are saved. You are delivered and healed and whole and complete, nothing lacking. Everything you need is right there. Pain is fleeting; joy is forever. Again, I say, rejoice!
If your path is hard, it is because your calling is great. God is chipping away the unhealthy, unnecessary parts, and sanding down the rough edges. Surrender to the process and keep taking steps. You have the victory!
When you sow God's Word spoken by God into your own mind, you are sowing all you need to strengthen and sustain your mind, body, and soul. Sow life! Sow light! Sow hope!
Today, we are looking at honor. One definition of honor is “to show respect.” Another use of the word means “to fulfill an obligation or keep an agreement.” In this episode, Carlos Rivera will examine how honoring the Lord through our obedience to Him and respect for others affects our lives — “The choice of who or what you honor will determine your destiny.”
Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy and my burden is light. (Matthew 11:28-30, NIV)
The relationship that we have with one another impacts our relationship with God. And then The Scripture in Matthew 5 is very clear to say if you're not right with the people around you, don’t bother bringing your offering to God until you take care of that broken relationship first.
Our nation — our world — has experienced unprecedented changes over the past several years. As we adapt to the changes around us — embrace the changes, we will prosper and grow. Carlos Rivera has encouraging news: “God's better days are ahead of you. Go forward, believe God for greater things. The Lord is going to do awesome stuff in our lives!”
Joy is a choice. Psalm 118:24 says, “This is the day the Lord has made. We will rejoice and be glad in it.” No matter what’s going on around us, we can decide to be joyful based on the gratitude and faith we hold inside. Host Carlos Rivera encourages us that although “every day may not be good, there's always something good in every day.”
Host Carlos Rivera speaks a word of blessing over you today as you acknowledge and give thanks to the Lord, the Source of every good thing in your life. As the church hungers for the things of God, the Spirit is moving. “This week, doors will open, and you will make divine connections. We live our lives in seasons, but our lives are changed in moments. “ God has something amazing in store for you.
The Bible instructs us to be “quick to listen, slow to speak, and slow to anger” (James 1:19-20). Carlos Rivera advises us to screen our thoughts before they become words — “if you speak when you're angry, you'll make the best speech that you will ever regret.”
Everything God promises He fulfills. When you see a promise of God in His Word, do not be surprised if there is a condition attached – a requirement that proves your faith and discipline to hold the blessing He puts in your hands. Carlos Rivera says, “Meet the condition and it'll change your position.”
No matter the circumstances that surround you today, God is pulling you within your purpose. Choose less of you and more of Christ and watch the Lord move mightily in and through your life.
“Before God shifts you to a higher level, a higher dimension in Him, there will likely be a battle. The battle causes something on the inside to get tougher, your faith to become more prominent. When you fight and win, not only do you gain ground, but you can now keep the ground.” – Carlos Rivera
Jesus understood exactly why He was here. Everything He said, and everything He did pointed to His Heavenly Father. He came “to seek and save that which was lost” – that was His WHY. Knowing your WHY will propel you to the next level; Your choices will be filtered through your purpose.
The ultimate purpose for every single one of us is to bless others through our lives, lead people to Christ and disciple them. Carlos Rivera brings us to an awareness of our words and actions and how each decision fits into our calling to “go ye, therefore, and make disciples.”
God loved us so much that He was willing to sacrifice His Son to save us. This is the central tenet of our Christian lives. Carlos Rivera reignites our Gospel passion with this beautiful truth – “He paid a debt He did not owe because I owed a debt I could not pay.”
So many people label us by our weaknesses or failures. We do that to ourselves, don’t we? Carlos Rivera wants you to know, “That label has been ripped up. You are now identified as a child of God.”
Looking at Paul and Silas in prison, Carlos Rivera reminds us to stay alert and keep praising God because “Suddenly is coming.” If you are feeling imprisoned by your circumstances, keep praising Him and get ready for the earthquake to shake your chains loose.
In this episode, Carlos will be talking about the areas of relationships, obedience, and finances, essential in putting our lives in order in 2022.
Episode 21 is the final “Walking in the Spirit” episode of 2021. With the uncertainties we face, it is comforting to know that our Father will not be surprised or unprepared by a single thing that takes place in our lives. You were created for this time in history. “When you discover your designer, you will determine your design.”
Jesus said that He did not come to the earth to be served, but to serve. He lived the truth that the place of true honor is not where people bow at your feet; it is proven in kneeling to wash another’s feet. In this week’s episode, Carlos Rivera urges us to “realize that all of our skill and talents are gifts from God to be used to His glory to His honor not to be leveraged for power prestige or position.”
We need a touch from God. Our homes, schools, workplaces, neighborhoods, and nation need a touch from God. Injustice, insecurities, infighting will cease with just one encounter with the Father and Creator of all. Carlos Rivera ignites a drive to storm Heaven’s gates with transforming pleas for our culture.
If you give God your attention, He will exceed your expectations. Carlos Rivera prompts us to “nurture the vision of possibilities” by speaking faith for the future instead of failures from the past.
God’s Word is a creative Word, a transforming Word. The same Word that created the universe transforms our lives. Carlos Rivera inspires us to digest every precept, allowing it to penetrate our hearts and minds.
It is almost a wrap on 2021, and Carlos Rivera has advice for tying up the loose ends of this year’s endeavors before moving onto the next. Connecting with good, God people will help us commit prayerfully and complete powerfully. “When you feel like bailing, remember why you began,” and let’s finish strong!
When we face a decision, wouldn’t it be great if God would play a video for us showing us the outcome of each option? He doesn’t always give us a clear vision of cause and effect, but He does know the impact of every single decision; if His Spirit lives inside you, you can trust His direction. Carlos Rivera pushes us toward God’s Wisdom, accessible when we speak the Name of Jesus boldly, decisively, and expectantly.
To go forward in faith, we must focus on the future. Let go of failures, issues, and losses and be prepared to move when the Lord says, “Move.” Carlos Rivera urges us toward forgiveness and freedom knowing “the old things are passed away and all things have become new” (2 Corinthians 5:17).
Jesus tells us in John 10:10 that He came to give eternal life to our spirits and gift us with an abundant life here on earth. This life of salvation and plenty did not come cheap. To protect and develop what God’s Son paid for so substantially, we must incorporate the habits Carlos Rivera outlines in this episode of “Walking in the Spirit.”
The first step in embarking on your mission, is embracing God’s vision. In this podcast episode, Carlos Riverawill get you moving in your calling at home, school, and work – “Your place of employment is your position of deployment.” Go in confidence knowing your steps are ordered of God (Psalm 37:23).
“Man, do I have good news for you!” In this episode, Carlos Rivera shows you that you are Accepted, Complete, Secure, and Significant. Packed and backed with Scripture, this teaching will point you to the revelation of God’s design for your life, beginning with your creation in His image.
Prayer restores our faith and renews our vision. Carlos Rivera encourages us to “never fight half-heartedly” again. It is time to get serious about winning.
Sometimes we are so focused on winning arguments, we lose people. And people are the point. Host Carlos Rivera is helping us take the fight to the heavenlies with a declaration of victory and steps of submission and sacrifice that prove our trust in God. Let the Lord choose the way; you simply choose to obey. You will see the miracle of souls if you surrender to God’s methods, and “Let your words create the atmosphere for victory.”
When your faith is tested, that battle develops the character of God inside of you. Carlos Rivera says, “Accept opposition as proof of progress.” You are ready for whatever comes your way; prepared for a battle that will reveal what you believe wholeheartedly – You are victorious in the Name of Jesus!
For the eyes of the Lord are on the righteous and his ears are attentive to their prayer…” (1 Peter 3:12, NIV) In the final segment of the Change Your Mind series, Carlos Rivera, shows us 3 Areas Transformed by the Power of Prayer. God sees you, He hears you, and He is ready to move on your behalf. (Catch up on the series here: Part One: “Head First”; Part Two: “Keep an Honest Mind” )
In the second part of the Change Your Mind series, Carlos Rivera, exhorts you to “stop making excuses and start seeing results.” It is time to be transparent and acknowledge where you are to get to where God wants to take you. Change your mind and follow what God has for you. (If you missed part one, listen any time. Here it is: “Head First.”)
If you know God’s got more for you, but you are struggling to get to that next level, Carlos Rivera has good news for you: “If you can change your mind, you can change your life.” Do not settle for a broken condition; never give up – God is about to unleash his greatness on your future.
As followers of Christ, we have dual-citizenship. We are residents of earth, and citizens of Heaven. Carlos Rivera shows us that as we understand our rights and responsibilities as citizens of the Kingdom of God, we begin to demonstrate radical love, authority and dominion.
