Big money so worried about the people getting a fair shake from the Reconciliation Bill, they are throwing every old trope at the wall to see what sticks. People need to know the bill is designed to REDUCE inflation, not grow it.

Judging by the numbers the right wing media hate machine is a lucrative business if you can consistently bring the hate. The problem is finding sponsors to fund it. Companies that provide real products and services are few, but there's plenty of nutritional supplement and miracle cure concerns ready and willing to pay the bill.

For this podcast I invited Substack's Letters From An American blogger Penelope Simpson to share her thoughts and ask the hard questions rational Americans have about dealing with Covid flat out deniers and skeptics. It's some compelling content.
I want to hear from you too, ideally someone from every state even if you are still unvaccinated. All that is required is to be respectful and verifiably fact based.
Just send a recording (it doesn't have to be professional, you can use your phone) to bluerootsradio@protonmail.com. Or you can go to the BlueRootsRadio website where you will find contact links and buttons. Feel free to write to ask questions if you need help getting started.

The GOP's Loyalty Test for their base has spawned a wave of vaccine avoiders, not to mention the Jan. 6th attack on the Capitol. Denying reality became a tool to combat the environmental movement's work to stop global warming/climate change. Denial now is being used to obstruct COVID vaccinations, masks, social distancing and Biden's Presidential Election victory and it's descending the party into The Deep.

Hopelessness is not a plan but it is often expressed in the more progressive leftwing media, which is sad because at the same time, these same writers are pushing the boundaries of political discourse on the left. It's good that they demand bold change, it's good that they want it now but it's bad that when it doesn't come to pass they throw in the towel and make readers want to slip into a hot bath with a sharp object.
What's missing is admitting that while big change can come rapidly, it doesn't happen very often and it's almost always achieved when Democrats have veto proof majorities. It's understandable, I used to feel that way too.
Instead of beating up on Democratic members of Congress, more energy should be directed at states where Democrats could have been elected but weren't. Now that's a plan.

For sure, there is no shortage of news pro and con about COVID-19 anti-vaxxers. It makes for controversial and emotional stories the cable news networks and mainstream media love because it generates clicks and views. Who makes up the majority of the unvaccinated and why they've waited is the topic of this podcast.

How much bad news can one man stand? While reality for him only exists on TV, our thankfully ex-president has been dealt two more shots to the body. First a couple of lawyers who tried to overturn the election with arguments made from vapors are going to have to pay for their sins, big time. Second, the Second Coming of the orangutan in chief has been postponed again. Mr. Pillow is having to admit it's gonna be a long, cold, lonely summer in Mar-a-lago.

Covidiot deniers have become the new pandemic. The time has come to pull the plug on catering to the false notion about people's freedoms being infringed regarding masks and vaccines. Freedom is a new code word for people who have been largely marginalized by GOP policies but have been convinced by the GOP the boogeyman is the Democratic Party. It's not about "freedom", freedom is just a convenient code word that can't really be challenged but serves as a good cover for sticking it to the election stealing liberals.

News days like today can be a bit stressful for some, OK for everyone who believes in democracy. It can be difficult to be hopeful when you are bombarded with news that goes from bad to worse. For some it's so overwhelming they are ready to roll up in a ball in the corner with their security blanket, but I'm here to tell you avoidance is rarely a good strategy.
This podcast covers a certain trust fund baby to a TV dinner dynasty and conservative billionaires bankrolling the attempt to undermine the integrity of our elections.

The Declaration of Independence tells us "all men are created equal" but the Southern Democrats of the 1800's who are now today's Republican Party, believe we are not all equals and the business of government should be left to a few who know better than the rest of us.
Abraham Lincoln didn't agree with their assessment and said instead it's the government's job to protect equality of access to resources and equality before the law for everyone. Lincoln stressed That when everyone has a voice in deciding how the country should be run only then will the best outcomes come to pass.
This podcast connects the attempts of today's Republican Party to restrict voting to those in the 1800's, 1960's to limit the vote to a minority of people unable to accept we're all equal under the law.

This week the Senate has two huge jobs, hold an impeachment trial and pass life saving disaster relief for Americans suffering from coronavirus and its effects on the economic, social and health being unfairly born by the working/middle class.
The Democrats are demanding Trump be held accountable for trying to overturn a free and fair election and working to pass Biden's relief package while Republicans are left trying to ignore a violent and murderous attack on the Capitol while refusing to vote for any immediate aid claiming more time is needed to determine the necessity.
Trump's self-defense is exactly that, a defense only about him that blames the insurgents who failed to give him an illegal win while ripping the GOP into one pro-business side and one that is an openly pro-fascist faction.

It's so reassuring when folks in Congress are placed on committees where they have real expertise, as opposed to being a recipient of a political favor.
Jamaal Bowman must've prepared one heck of a lesson plan before entering Congress that he will be using on the Education and Labor, Science Space and Technology and Transportation and Infrastructure committees.
Bowman unseated 16 term do nothing Democrat Eliot Engel in just one more example of the people picking a progressive over a senior establishment old school and out of step Democratic dinosaur.

As we approach the end of the first partial week with President Joe Biden many of the fears of not rising to the massive challenge have been silenced. Biden came out of the gate ready to take the Executive scalpel to many Executive Actions and Regulation monstrosities of the prior administration and showing the door to some of the most controversial and dangerous appointees made by his predecessor.
To say his plate is full is quite the understatement but Biden appears ready to attack on all fronts whether it's Covid, the Senate or the alternate reality detractors.

Americans were given a well deserved reminder during yesterday's inauguration ceremony by our youngest Poet Laureate Amanda Gormon. "..there's alway light, if only we're brave enough to see it". Every line in the poem was a reminder that when you replace hope with fear, you're agreeing to accept the shade of undemocratic leaders.
Speaking of undemocratic leaders, the day after the 45th President was removed from Social Media, disinformation dropped 73%. This and other news is in today's podcast.
