Special Birthday Pre-release. 3rd track from the forthcoming album Election. – Life is inbetween Sometimes it would be amazing to taste something when so much of our world is manufactured it is hard to find something to taste. We have created so much, yet many of our basic needs remain unfulfilled. The simple things about how we live. We seem to be unsure, cause somewhere there is an ad telling us that we don’t know that and we can’t tell the difference. Inbetween the abyss there is a place where life flows and is full of magic and colours. How do we translate that into reality? We know in our dreams late at night it is there, yet we can not remember when we pick up the phone the next day. We are distracted.
An outtake released here for its interesting use of echo and delay. For the Promotion of the remastered release of the Painting You Album NIghtsessions. 'Sounds like you have never heard it before'

Featuring Gonzo on Bass & Prince on Bongo's This funky little number featured predominately bongos & Bass on the recording session. L+o+v+e = You & Me was one of the main title songs for this recording session. The first session nearly secured recording contract at the time due to it's unique sound. It was the first proper tracks that I recorded in a Studio. This is one of the tracks that is being remastered for the release of the Gospel According to Who, A Painting You Album recorded about 20 years ago that is soon to be completed. It has been a very intense process. The music is amazing one remembers it very differently with some perspective. It was hard to make but we were young and did not know what we had captured. Brilliant playing from Igor and Ernest Legaay.
I think this was the start of a sound that i am only realizing to day. It was recorded in 1998 at home.

This song was recorded in August and September 2013 in Gypo's Buggane studio. The song idea dates back about 15 years ago when I was playing in grunge band in the Netherlands we used it as an intro to song called fake. I think the idea behind that song is exploring ideas and becoming engaged in events that surround you. Of course it is perspective. However when one is younger it is possible to feel very uninspired and that change for the better is a hopeless goal. This is not so.
Pre recording we did a number of sessions with Gypo where ideas were thrown against a wall to see what would stick. I had an acoustic demo but substantial rewrote the song and recorded the drum that you hear on the finished version. Gypo took that demo and really reworked it using Pro tools, not only adding trumpets unbeknown to me that he could play himself but also really applying years of knowledge and understanding. He was stickle for the rhythm where I have tendency to let things be very loose he made it tight which is what any dance track needs and took the track to whole new level. While the track is political motivated it was also the point to make something that was danceable uplifting and seductive. Pinky B provided the Vocals for this track. In her first studio performance and after much persuasion she put a vocal that required little or no effects and was pretty much spot on. - See more at: http://www.cousinlee.com/?wpsc-product=get-on-up-step-into

We have to love each other better, Today when people suffer or appear not to we have to love them all before it is too late. This is a acoustic version of the same song from the Painting You Album 'Opera Afterwards' This version was featured on a compilation called 'Something or Nothing A Sides' of which their are very few versions in existence. However one day it will be on Vinyl.
