Rodney Kuenzi, DVM Dr. Rodney Kuenzi ("Dr. Rod") was born and raised in Waukesha, Wisconsin. He received a BS degree in Entomology from Iowa State University in 1983 and a DVM degree from the University of Wisconsin - Madison, School of Veterinary Medicine in 1987.
Dr. Rod and his wife Dr. Lana opened Kuenzi Family Pet Hospital in 1987. Before that, he practiced in Madison and West Allis. His special interests include veterinary dentistry as well as soft tissue and orthopedic surgery.
Outside of veterinary medicine, Dr. Rod enjoys farming, entomology, forest management, geology and archaeology.

Dr. Mader, a triple Board Certified veterinary specialist, was born in the upper Keys. He received Master’s degree in Animal Behavior in 1982 and Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from the University of California, Davis in 1986. After graduation Dr. Mader completed a residency in Primate and Zoo animal medicine. During his veterinary and residency training Dr. Mader’s areas of special interest were in the pharmacology of antibiotics in exotic pets. While living in Southern California, he owned a small animal/exotic practice for 9 years.
Dr. Mader is the consulting veterinarian for the Key West Aquarium, the Marathon Sea Turtle Hospital, The Key West Butterfly Conservancy, the Theater of the Sea and the Monroe County (Sheriff Animal Farm) Zoo. Dr. Mader is an internationally acclaimed expert in Exotic Animal Medicine and travels over 50,000 miles every year teaching at Veterinary Conferences, Veterinary Schools and Specialty courses. Dr. Mader is also on the review/advisory boards for several scientific journals. He has published hundreds articles in scientific and veterinary journals, national magazines, newspapers, book chapters and is the Co-author/editor of the Saunder’s publication Reptile Medicine and Surgery. Dr. Mader is a Past-President of the prestigious North American Veterinary Conference, the world’s largest veterinary continuing education conference.
Amongst Dr. Mader’s many awards are the University of California, Davis, School of Veterinary Medicine Alumni Achievement Award, the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Conservation Award and the “Educator of the Year” award, granted twice, from the Western Veterinary Conference.
Dr. Brian Poteet received his DVM and MS degrees at Texas A&M University. He completed a three-year radiology residency at the University of Tennessee in 1994. He is board certified by the American College of Veterinary Radiology and the American Board of Science in Nuclear Medicine. He currently is the founder and President of VitalRads, PLLC, a veterinary teleradiology company based in Cypress (Houston), Texas. He is also an Associate Professor at Texas A&M University, College of Veterinary Medicine. Dr. Poteet has authored several scientific journal articles and chapters in textbooks. He has presented at numerous national and international veterinary meetings on topics ranging from ultrasound, radiology interpretation, digital radiography as well as computed tomography, magnetic resonance imaging and nuclear medicine. Dr. Poteet also serves on the Board of Directors of the Western Veterinary Conference (WVC).
