Right when the off season was supposed to be in the expectedly boring lull of the preseason: dawg fans at large have enjoyed recruiting drama & in triumphs in the month of June. If history is any indication, Kirby and Co are just getting started. Today we celebrate the come up in the class of 2025 and what were most excited for.

Many UGA players will be getting paid NFL dollars in the near future. For some it seemed like a forgone conclusion they would be pro, and for others it's truly a testament to the level of developmental standards at UGA under the tutelage of the entire staff & of course master talented developer himself, coach Kirby Smart. Big news for the QB room as we speak our optimism of the newcomer with ALL the intangibles . NBA playoffs are in full swing and major legends like Lebron, Steph, and KD are all set to be watching from home. Strange times, and as always a great time to be a DAWG !
This is the best roster in CFB. Saturday in Sanford stadium the Dawgs ended Spring ball with their annual G-day scrimmage and put on a showcase of talent, execution, and depth. The 20-20 score says more about the talent throughout the roster than the lack of OT rules. The transfer portal opens 4/16 and runs through the month, then the Dawgs will shift to offseason workouts in prep for fall camp. The NBA play-in starts tonight with the Laker vs Pels & Warriors vs Kings. Braves start Game 2 @ Houston.

We are a couple of weeks out til G Day && smack in the middle of the MADNESS of March . Today is the first inaugural scrimmage of Spring football. This will be pivotal in laying the foundation for this team and where were heading as a group and as a ever evolving roster. This has been a Georgia offseason packed full of news and headlines: mostly dominated by the transfer portal and a seemingly constant coaching carousel within the football program. Nobody in the SEC is celebrating Michigan's title because the best coach in CFB has retired as HC of Alabama! After a list of candidates were explored, the losing coach in the National Championship game, Kalen Deboer from Washington will replace Saban after a 14-1 stint with the Huskies. What does this mean for Bama and more importantly how good of an opportunity is this for UGA with the G.o.a.t. in retirement? Lastly, Fantasy szn is over and congrats to all the champs out there, and to the losers... better luck next year. Go Dawgs!
UGA coaches, players and fans still feel like we are a Top 4 team after losing in the SECCG and took it all out on Florida State with a 63-3 victory in the Orange Bowl to finish the szn 13-1. Best of luck to every player that was a part of this journey, especially Brock Bowers whose career is UGA Mt. Rushmore-worthy imo. With the talent coming back in 2024 along with the top-ranked recruiting class and transfer adds in positions of need, it's not crazy to think UGA could be a pre-szn #1 again. Go Dawgs.
It was the best of times, it was the worst of times. Truly, this is a tale of two programs for the up and coming New Years 6 Bowl game. Historically and concurrently, Florida State & UGA are two blue blood programs with national brand recognition. While these teams haven't faced off since 2003, back when Mark Richt led UGA to beat the team he previously coached for in the Sugar Bowl , the Florida State Seminoles. They have in fact had many recent battles in the transfer portal and along the recruiting trail. Of course, in 2023 both teams had aspirations of Championship trophies and Playoff appearances: & yet, both programs were left on the outside looking in at the end of the playoff committee's deliberations . UGA took it as an opportunity to collect themselves & put new meaning into this bowl game. In stark contrast, it seems most of the main stay core players that helped FSU do so well this season have pretty much all jumped ship. So needless to say this Bowl game will still be a great way to the end of our* season, albeit in semi weird circumstances in this transitional period where the college football overlords are slowly getting this chaotic mess polished into something digestible for all of us fans..

Kirby Smart and company wasted no time today putting together another #1 recruiting class. All 27 recruiting targets sent in their letters of intent before most people took their lunch break. The icing on the cake was the unexpected flip of FSU commit, 5-star recruit and #1 safety in the country KJ Bolden from Buford, GA. Add that along with incoming transfer WR London Humphrey from Vandy and Carson Beck returning for 2024, even after a tough loss the Dawgs are still winning! Congratulations to Alabama in their win over the Dawgs and their entry into CFP Top 4. UGA made a push at the end of the game but ultimately didn't play well enough to overcome penalties, injuries, turnovers, questionable calls, and a missed FG. UGA went on a historic run, and it took a below average performance by us and great gameplan by the Goat to stop it. The Dawgs will play Florida State in the Orange Bowl to finish up the szn. Hats off to Nick Saban, but around here it's always Go Dawgs!
A highly anticipated bout of heavyweight proportions is set to take stage this Saturday afternoon with the commencement of the SEC Championship. Both teams share a recent history of extremely competitive high stakes match ups & this year is no different. The winner is guaranteed a spot in the CFP, while the loser will be hoping and wishing for football chaos to sway in their favor. The DAWGS have had a great season in their hopes to go for 3 in 2023. Now, they control their destiny. All we have to do is get past BAMA, again. Coach Saban and company demand respect. Guess what, so do we. Thanks for listening, sharing , and following ! Chito's first trip to Bobby Dodd finishes with a 31-23 victory over the bees and sets an SEC-record 29 consecutive wins for UGA. It was freezing in ATL but Kendall Milton and the run game were on fire as he went for 150+ and 2 TD's, but the game wasn't without its flaws. Turnovers and poor run fits (and the refs) kept Tech in this one late, but the Dawgs hold on and finish their 3rd regular szn 12-0. Now we prep to come back to ATL to get another trophy and a spot in the CFP. All on this weeks' epsiode... of Dawgs OTL.

Two games remain in the regular season for Georgia. If we can capture a W in Knoxville this weekend that will make 28 wins in a row. However, the number 18 ranked Volunteers clothed in Orange are sure to give us a challenging & rocking atmosphere on the road. We also chop it up with our pal and big time Tennessee fan Broughton Greene who brings further insights and football talk from the opposing side. While UGA may have already clinched the East, that only raises the set up for a "trap game" if we don't come correct. Last year's game in Athens was a great win for Kirby and Co, so best believe these Vols are coming for revenge. CBS and Gary Danielson will sing a swan song as the long standing broadcast partnership comes to end. Let's make this last CBS production and East Division match up be filled with lots of familiar cheesy commentated Georgia highlights. Everyone have a great weekend and as always, GO DAWGS !
How's that for a resume builder? Dawgs dominate the Rebels and get another statement win for the committee to chew on and Clinch the SEC East in the last year of the division format. This team got healthy (minus Julian Humphrey) at the right time and looked like a Championship team. Bobo was a DEMON orchestrating 300+ yards rushing and passing with the help of Milton, McConkey, Bowers and co. The defense strapped the Ole miss offense all night with CJ Allen looking like he's gonna be special, but the job's not finished and Tennessee is next!
With both of their initial big goals still alive, it seems quite fitting that friends and former Saban disciples, Laine Kiffin & Kirby Smart, would lead their teams to essentially an early playoff game this Fall weekend. Ole Miss, ranked 9th, is one of the best teams in the country & will pose a major threat to UGA's 3 Peat hopes- especially if they start as fast as they're known to do! The season is nearly 2/3rds of the way through, and for many DAWGS this Saturday will be their final game as we honor the Seniors on Senior Night. Coach Mark Richt will also get a much deserved spotlight and thanks for his legendary legacy as head coach of UGA. Huge win for the Dawgs at home over Missouri to put UGA at 5-0 in conference play with 1 more SEC win to clinch the East. This one didn't come easy as the Tigers proved they belonged, but the Dawgs made big plays down the stretch including a 48-yard field goal from freshman Peyton Woodring and a near pick-six from BIG DAWG D-lineman Nazir Stackhouse. We will lose JDJ to injury for a few weeks due to a forearm fracture, but we are also expecting Amarius Mims and Brock Bowers back soon to help us close out the szn. 2 UGA hosts the #12 Missouri Tigers in Athens, and the winner puts themselves in the driver's seat in the SEC East race. Last year the Dawgs barely escaped CoMo with a 26-22 win, and the tigers are aiming to finish the job this year. Athens will be rocking as Luther Burden, Brady Cook and co. try to pull the upset, but I expect Dominic Lovett to show his old team why he made the right move. All week we were told that the Gators were coming for the upset, but in the end they 💩 their britches as the Dawgs went on a 36-0 run to finish with a 43-20 win in Jacksonville. Offense, defense and special teams were on point after Florida's opening drive and a botched 4th down. This heated rivalry-win pushes the Dawgs to 8-0 overall and 5-0 in conference play before the 1st CFP Ranking releases on Tuesday night. The road only gets tougher, but this team is looking Dangerous* "It's Great, to be, a GEORGIA BULLDOG!"
The Georgia Bulldogs head down to Jacksonville, Florida to start off a 4-game stretch that will determine how good this team really is. Carson Beck returns home to put on a show without his most elite weapon in Brock Bowers, but this roster is full to the brim with talent that's ready to fill the void. Billy Napier and the Gators have played above expectations and would love nothing more than to ruin UGA's chance of repping the east in the SECCG. Lock in, because this next month is going to take some years off your life, but this is what it means to be #1. To Hell with Florida, and Go Dawgs!
The Georgia Bulldogs are on their way to the capital of country music for a noon kick off against Vandy this Saturday. If all goes to plan, the Commodores will be singing the whiskey blues come that evening. Speaking of sweet tunes, DAWG Nation at large sure does like the sound of 24 wins in a row. We truly hit season highs last week against Kentucky, can we now continue to get better for our quest for 3 straight 🏆's ?!
This weekend will be full of intriguing match ups. Football is historically a nice cherry on top to this beautiful Fall weather and a welcome distraction to book end our long work weeks. That said, we acknowledge that it is a privilege to do so amongst the current back drop of the terribly tragic and violent world events taking place overseas. Our hearts go out to all of the victims in the current conflicts in the middle east.
Braves rally to complete an AMAZING comeback against the Phillies to tie the series 1-1 & the Dawgs show the country that they are more than deserving to hold on to the #1 rank in the country, but Kirby doesn't care about any of that. Chito and Keegan discuss how elite this offense is starting to look under the direction of Mike Bobo as Carson Beck throws for a szn-high 4 TDs and Brock Browers does Brock Bowers things. Mark Stoops and the Kentucky Wildcats are coming into Athens ready to handle business. Their fans have confidence and a hot handed running back plus a major name sake transfer QB may just justify their level of belief. Kirby and our DAWGS will surely have something to say about that. && hopefully, similar to the highly anticipated Drake album release - UGA has also been saving an elite performance/product for this magnificent month of October. Brock Bowers is the best Non-QB player in the country, and probably better than most of the signal callers we'll see this year. It's obvious that he will continue to be a focal point of this offense moving forward if UGA wants to remain undefeated. However, missed tackles and turnovers continue to plague this team in a year where the margin of error is SLIM. We escaped Jordan-Hare with a 27-20 victory after a Malaki Starks INT, but October & November all of the sudden are littered with ranked teams looking for an upset. Dame Dolla traded to the Milwaukee Bucks and the 104-win Braves wait for their opponent as the MLB postseason kicks off with Wildcard play. To Hugh Freeze . Yes- the longest standing rivalry in the SEC - that long returning tradition- it's kind of a big deal. While we won't promote hate - it should be painfully obvious that a rivalry game dubbed the Deep South's Oldest- emphasis on Oldest- is a tradition with deep roots. Additionally, why on Earth would any game with the esteemed title of specifically being called a "rivalry" game, by definition meaning someone who you at minimum seek to passionately compete against- not be considered a big deal to the fans of Auburn ??? That is an excellent way to set the bar low publicly & get the boot earlier than expected if success isn't even sniffed. So the pressure is on. ⏳

22 wins in a row. The Blazer's fire has been dampened. && our coach Kirby Smart captured a historic win from the Brother of Dragons. Bobo let them boys cook & Brock Bowers showed why he's a master chef. Sanford Stadium lit up in all its Glory once again as it was them Dawgs breathing fire when it was all said and done. All those highlights are all fine and dandy, but our Dawgs now must learn- then turn- their efforts and collective attention to the Auburn Tigers in a potentially hazardous road trip to Jordan-Hare Stadium. We will look back at this win and make our conclusions about the good, the bad, and the coachable. We surely have lots to discuss on this episode of Dawgs OTL - following an action packed weekend with many impactful games across the sport of college football. With a potential win in what will be his 100th game as Georgia Bulldog's head coach, Kirby Smart can cement his legacy as the best to ever do it in the first 100 games of his coaching career. This time in Georgia football lore is truly rarified air. Speaking of the fantastical, it seems only fitting that our Dawgs could spark such a history book type victory against a team quite familiar with fire, ash, & dragons too. The Blazers from UAB searched high and low through the prospective coaching annals to unearth a proven warrior and Super Bowl winning QB, Trent Dilfer. Which leads us to ask: what would a dynasty really be if it couldn't over take the "Brother of Dragons' himself ?! In High Valyrian fashion -- Coach Kirby's only one command before our Dawgs take the field? Dracarys !

After another* slow start and injuries still taking their toll, the Dawgs find a way to bounce back from a 14-3 deficit in the 1st half to overcome the South Carolina Gamecocks in Athens. In a week where several "contenders" looked really bad or even lost (The Tennessee Volunteers, ladies and gentlemen) UGA showed flashes and found a way to get it done to move to 3-0. Offensively, Kirby and Bobo need to consider therapy and the O-line will need to survive the loss of Amarius Mims for at least 4 weeks but holding a QB to 104 yards on 6-24 and 2 INTs in the 2nd half will get it done. SEC play is FINALLY here! Week 3 brings the Gamecocks of Colombia, SC to Athens, GA to face the Dawgs. The 1st test of the 2023 szn will tell us how for real this team is. USC jr. brings Spencer Rattler and his offensive weapons to test our secondary, while Shane brings his deddy's "Beamer Ball" between the hedges. Mekhi Mews may bring some of his own special teams' fireworks to the game. Tennessee and Florida do battle in the Swamp, Vikings vs. Eagles for Thursday Night Football, and the Atlanta Braves are the NL East Champions once again. Georgia continues devouring the glory on the cusp of 20 wins in a row. While we weren't perfect - Ball State did not stand a chance. Simultaneously, as UGA is sailing smoothly to start off 2023, other SEC playoff contenders continue to stumble. Nick Saban and the Crimson Tide will be licking their wounds and will be reapproaching the drawing board in Tuscaloosa. Now that Texas has beaten a one of the better second tier SEC opponents- the fans over in Austin were heard clamoring for a greater test . They look to challenge the king of the mountain- so naturally they're saying "We Want Georgia" . Many in the past 2 years have made such errant requests. We will let them warn you Longhorn folk, the message being: be careful what you wish for......

Week 1 ends with a huge upset in Durham, NC to close out Labor Day on a weekend that saw LSU and TCU lose again, Bama found a QB and UGA, Michigan and OSU win big over lesser opponents. After winning a 2nd title 65-7 in January, 48-7 over UT-Martin feels like a letdown, and this week Mike Bobo is the scapegoat. College Football is ALL THE WAY back as the slate starts with Florida (trying not to get embarrassed) and going through FSU vs. LSU in Orlando on Sunday. However, the Dawgs will start the 2023 szn between the hedges against UT-Martin, 1 of 3 teams from the Volunteer State UGA wants to beat on the way to history. ESPN Picks Alabama (SECC), but neither Chito nor Keegan have the Tide making the CFP. Talking szn is over and it's time to find out. Kirby Smart has made an announcement for the 2023 szn, and it's that Carson Beck will be the starting Quarterback for the University of Georgia. Most of us thought that this would be the case, but the work is just starting for Beck and he still has a lot to prove. The same can be said about positions on the offensive line and the cornerback position, so the work continues as we are only ONE Saturday away from kicking off between the hedges. Go Dawgs!
Kirby Smart and the Dawgs get ready for scrimmage #2 as football szn inches closer every day. The grind continues as this years' version of UGA football will start the szn as #1 for the first time since 2008 (We gotta talk about it). The New 8 conference game SEC schedule drops TONIGHT @ 7pm! Rumors are that the Dawgs will travel to both Tuscaloosa and Austin, TX. What other surprises will be revealed? Always a bad idea to poke a bear and UGA loses a "Bear" to USC in the transfer portal. With G-Day wrapped up, we get a better feel for depth chart projections going into Summer workouts and Fall camp. Georgia gets set to conclude spring practice for 2023 and will be 'collaring' the UGA XI aka "Boom" (him good boy). After defeating the GT bumble bees, the Georgia Bulldogs finish the 22' season 12-0, doing so in BACK-TO-BACK seasons. Today we bow our heads and honor the life and legacy of the great late Vince Dooley. To say we lost an amazing human being is an understatement. Coach Dooley had a big heart for service to others & an unrivaled curiosity for life. He was an all around good person who always held his head high with an aspirational level of humility. He loved UGA & Athens at large. Many called him a friend, a father , a grandfather, a mentor , & a kind hearted gardening neighbor. Vince you will be missed. A DGD indeed.

Saturday in Atlanta was an absolute movie as the Dawgs reminded the College football world that we ARE NOT LSU (or their Families). The Dawgs dominated the Ducks 49-3 like Balerion the Dread would've dominate a village in forest full of cabins. In true Dragon Con fashion, Stetson Bennett and the UGA offense roared to nearly 600 yards of production en route to 7 touchdowns, meanwhile the only touchdown Oregon saw was their plane landing back in Eugene. A pair of All-Conference (PAC-12) Linebackers were no match for the Mailman and Todd Monkens' gameplan and frankly looked like livestock in the wilderness. Dawgs move up to #2 in the ranking & on to week 2 opponent Samford.
After a LONG summer as National Champs the dawgs takeover ATL Labor Day weekend to prove 2021 wasn't a fluke. The Ducks fly some 2,600 miles from Eugene, Oregon to face Kirby Smart and the Georgia Bulldogs.
