Prism Radio was started in June of 2010 and although I have gone off air few times for extended period of time it was mostly based on time availability or funding availability. So, I plan on starting the show back up sometime in January but there is a lot of planning to do so until I know I am ready I won't release the date.
I hope to air a show every other Sunday Night at 9:00pm Eastern Time. I will add the show schedule on this page and on my website: www.hollyknightproductions.com as they are created.
Most shows will be interviewing guests from all sorts of topics but, on occasion, I might just do a commentary. Details for each show will be available on this page and my website. I hope to have shows that inform and entertain.

Monica Roberts, AKA the TransGriot (Gree-oh) is a native Houstonian, GLAAD award nominated blogger, writer, and award winning trans human rights advocate. She's the founding editor of TransGriot, and her writing has appeared at the Bilerico Project, Ebony.com, The Huffington Post and the Advocate. She works to foster understanding and acceptance of trans people inside and outside communities of color and was recently honored with the Virginia Prince Transgender Pioneer Award.

Ernestine is also known in the spoken word community, infamous for being uncensored and untamed on the microphone, speaking on matters dear to the heart. Ernestine was the Red Carpet host for McKinley Presents Ent. in Las Vegas, conducting interviews with various celebrities which led to her hosting a sports segment on KCEP Power 88.1. Continuing her journey, Ernestine resides in Atlanta, Georgia. She can be seen on GMC’s original stage play Sugar Momma’s and her latest film Reckless.

Leelah's suicide has reached so many people but clearly in so many ways. The phrase of "layers of an onion" comes to mind when thinking about producing this show. When peeling layers of an onion we often experience the tears before we experience the benefit of the task. At the top of my list my hope is that Leelah's suicide can initiate some improvements in the lives of transgender people.
I will talk about my perception of these layers and the ramifications to and or for the transgender community.

It is the end of the year and time for reflection. It has truly been an amazing year for the transgender community in 2014. Recently an article was written about 2014 being the best year ever for the transgender community. I would agree that it has been an amazing year for us in that there is so much in the news about transgender people and much of that has been positive but I wonder if we put too much emphasis on what is going on in the media.
This show will discuss my Trans Hero's and why.

So, from what I understand, there are gender non-conforming individuals that does not believe the word transgender fit their personal identity so these individuals created the word trans*. As much the effort is admirable to be more inclusive it also has a element of exclusion. Despite these good intentions it is my opinion that this could damage our movement toward social and legal freedom. I will talk about the issues with this label and hope to make a good argument why we need to stop using it.

Robby was a young boy that had Spastic Cerebral Palsy and it was my job to help him each morning and evening working for the Illinois Children and Family Services. Robby was neglected by his father because he was born with this disablility but Robby was a special person with a lot of love. His story inspired me for this radio show about acceptance and rejection.

In every conversation I have had about the problems transgender people have eventually get to a comment, "people are afraid of what they don't understand" and then "our" problems becomes a matter of ignorance. So, to eliminate ignorance is to educate. That is the Prism Direction and Prism Radio mission so we are going to do a Trans 101 series of shows beginning with defining what transgender is.

Homelessness for transgender people exist at a very high level. According the National Center for Transgender Equality, 20% of transgender people in the US have been refused a home or apartment and 10 percent has been evicted because of their gender identity. Transgender people that are homeless also face discrimination at most facilities that assist homeless people with 29% indicating being turned away from a shelter due to being transgender.
Pamala French is the Producer and Director of a documentary called, “Becoming More Visible”. It is a very nicely done film about transgender teens in New York City. Pamala is currently trying to fund her project through Kickstarter. So, we have invited Pamala to help promote her very important video and hopefully get the support she needs.

It continues to shock me that in a group of oppressed people (like the transgender community) how much there is oppression/pre-judgment/racism in our community. You would think a person that has been pre-judged simply for how they dress would be a little more understanding about people being pre-judged on the color of their skin. Well, this show is going to open some eyes (if we have open ears and hearts) about the race issues in and about the transgender community. I will have two guests that are good friends of mine that will offer a perspective on this topic that might be a little direct and maybe even difficult for some to hear but that is needed. Jaison Gardner and Monica Roberts join me for this very important topic. Jaison is a community activist and organizer in the Louisville area and a board member of the Fairness Campaign along with a co-founder and President of the Derby City Black Pride Organization. I hear this question often or even the statement that crossdressers are not part of the community and more from the "crossdressing" community. Let's get to the bottom of this. I have looked for work as a TG for many years and about a year ago finally found a job with Kelly Services as a temp but then a great opportunity at Brown-Forman came along. In those many years, in many discussions, through many mistakes I feel I can help a lot of you that are looking for work but at least we can talk about some things you need to consider.
The Transgender Sexuality Show is a regular show about ever few months. We explore different areas of transgender sexuality and although most of it is suitable for anyone, we do put an adult rating on this show for obvious reasons.
The Transgender Day of Remembrance is a day of memorial each year on the 20th of November to memorialize those transgender people we have lost over the previous year due to murder for simply being transgender. This past year (2012) there were 265 world wide. So many questions exist with the TDOR I believe. Is it important to have a day each year to memorialize TG’s, what message is this sending? How does a person/community memorialize these individuals? Why are so many being murdered? How do they know they are being murdered for being TG? Is this a race issue? Stephanie is a Phychologist originally from Utah and then the University of Minnesota. She is in the University of Minnesota Counseling and Consulting Services department. This July she is moving to Louisville and will working in the Department of Psychology at the University of Louisville. She has recently received the American Psychological Association, Division 17 LGBT Outstanding Graduate award. With this award, numerous other awards, her educational background and experiences, we are happy to have her on Prism Radio and welcome her to Louisville. Individually, they have fantastic stories of triump over adversity but together, the story is incredible, moving and inspiring. Their relationship began as a lesbian couple and progressed through a complicated transition for Rob as a F-M transmale. Okay, the more I deal with the issues we have as a transgender community the more it is clear to me that the biggest reasons for our lack of support from many non-trans people is they believe we choose to be transgender. If we choose this as a lifestyle then it is our fault and we do not deserve protection under the law, respect, health and even life on some occasions. This is evident based on the recent comments you see and hear from the beating in Maryland.
Dawn Wilson is a name that most transgender people in the Louisville area know or should know. In fact, in the state of Kentucky. She has been involved in transgender rights on the political side for many years. In fact, many would say that much of what we have in the area of legal rights in Louisville and Lexington is partly due to Dawn. Dawn was born in Chicago and then raised in Lexington, Kentucky. She attended Transylvania University and the University of Kentucky. She is currently involved with CFAIR and the Louisville Metro Human Relations Commission. The Human Relations bascially deal with diversity issues and would be the organization you would contact if you felt your rights were being taking away from you. Dawn is also very involved in the sport of Fencing as a very successful coach and athlete. We are very excited will have Dawn as our guest on Prism Radio April 19th at 10:00pm. We will talk about her life growing up in Chicago and Kentucky, her early years as an activist in Kentucky and the current political and social issues facing the transgender community today. This bio was taken from the HRC Website...Allyson Robinson joined the Human Rights Campaign as Associate Director of Diversity in 2008 to lead the organization and its volunteer base in promoting awareness of transgender issues and to ensure that all program areas demonstrate measurable commitment to transgender equality and inclusion.
A native of Scranton, Pa., Robinson is a 1994 graduate of the United States Military Academy at West Point, where she majored in engineering physics. After an internship at Los Alamos National Laboratory, she was commissioned as an officer in the Army and served with PATRIOT missile units in the United States, Germany and Saudi Arabia. She also worked for NATO as an air defense evaluator and advised the Royal Saudi Air Force on missile defense tactics, techniques and procedures.
Robinson resigned her commission in 1999 to pursue a calling to Christian ministry. After her ordination, she served as pastor-teacher to churches in the Portuguese Azores and in central Texas. Her ministry work focused on raising awareness of systemic poverty and the intersecting systems of oppression that create and sustain it, while working to organize responses to poverty at the local, regional, national and international levels. She earned a master of divinity degree in theology, with a capstone emphasis in social justice, from Baylor University's George W. Truett Theological Seminary in 2007.
Robinson lives with her wife and their four children in Gaithersburg, Md.

Laura Landenwich is a partner in the law firm Clay Frederick Adams, PLC. She focuses her practice on civil rights, employment law, and copyright and trademark litigation in both Kentucky and Indiana. Laura is also an adjunct professor at Indiana University Southeast where she teaches a class on legal issues in the music industry. At the September meeting, Laura will lead a discussion on issues facing transgender individuals in the workplace. The discussion will center around some exciting new developments in the scope of protection for transgender Kentuckians. We will also discuss how employees can protect and preserve their rights when facing discrimination or harassment in the workplace. We will talk about employment issues for the trans community
The International Transgender Day of Remembrance is November 20th each year. This year, the LGBT Community is very involved in this day and we will have a special week called, "Week of Awareness". Heather has been involved with the TDOR for many years and joins us for this show to discuss the event and the purpose of TDOR.

Dayna holds an MBA from Liberty University and is currently pursuing a second Master in Science in Counseling Psychology from Troy University.

Trans-Angels is a non-profit organization headquartered in the Tucson Arizona region, dedicated to providing support and assistance to transsexuals of both genders in all stages of transition. Trans-Angels was started by a small group of people motivated by the lack of real, substantive assistance for transsexuals, and the continued lack of equal protection under the law. Charlena lived a life of Ministry and was married to a wonderful woman for many years. After her passing Charlena was born. She has not been transgender as a youth or even as an a adult but was more like a Divine creation. Her story is extremely unique in the TG Community but one you will want to hear. Wow!!!! Three very influential women in the Louisville area will be our H@K Guests. I am so excited. Mari Mujica is the owner of a Diversity Company but the main area we will talk about will be her "Trans Gender Lives Trans Gender Images" an art exhibit about Kentucky Transgender people. Mari will start things at about 10:00pm. Amirage Saling will be our second guest at about 10:12pm. Amirage is a former top performer at The Connection but is currently finishing her degree in Social Work at UL. Amirage is a very respected transwoman in the Louisville area. The third guest is Amanda Tucker. We believe Amanda to be the first trans person to transition while she was/is a student at UL. Her show will start at about 10:24pm. Our June 22nd show will feature Brian Buford of the University of Louisville. Brian is the Director the the LGBT Services at the University of Louisville. Since he has been at this position, the University has had many changes that has greatly improved the academic and overall lives of the transgender students at UL.
Our first guest for Holly @ Knight will be Sheila O'Bannon. Sheila is the author of the play, "The Prodigal" that will be at the Kentucky Center for the Arts June 26th and June 27th.
