What GIRLS Need & What They Want
Our girls are bombarded by negative messages from the magazines they simply see on the shelves at the grocery store to the labels on the food they eat. This makes them think they have to be skinnier, prettier and sexier. While raising her daughter, who is now 16, Dana Wendt realized most food products for women, which teenaged girls see their mothers eat and want to emulate, reinforce the negative messages with weight management names and taglines. Can you believe 80 percent of 10-year-old girls are on a diet? A diet! Before their bodies have even hit puberty. And, by the time they become teenagers, more than half are unhappy with their bodies. That number increases to more than three-quarters by the time they are 18. These statistics, combined with Dana's experience, forced her to take a look at the industry and figure out how we can change the message. It became a call-to-action to create a great snack line for girls that ditches the crappy messages and crappy ingredients and instead reminds girls that they are amazing. That they have JOUZGE. Tonight, parents and teens will have the opportunity to learn valuable tools that will empower and inspire all girls to activate their Power To The Girl!

Liz Marks was a popular all american high school girl who was addicted to her smartphone. She knew not to text and drive but Liz says "Everyone does it." As she was driving she received a text from her mom and in that moment her life changed forever.
The accident left Liz blind in one eye and hard of hearing. It also left her with a diminished sense of smell and she is no longer able to create tears or fall asleep without medication. She says the most difficult part of all of it, was going from being very social and popular to being alone, without friends. Liz will be sharing her story as well as her mission of inspiring teens to put down their phones while behind the wheel. Also joining the conversation is Diana Graber, co-founder of CyberWise. Kaylin Stewart is a high school sophomore making a film about the the very few lady Land Speed Racing record holders... and her attempt to join them later this summer. She grew up on the Salt Flats of Bonneville, Utah watching people (including her Dad) drive cars over 200MPH and as she got older she noticed there were very few women drivers. In fact of the roughly 750 people in the exclusive 200MPH Club, only 23 are women.
As more glass ceilings are broken, more girls are realizing that they can do whatever they set their minds to. By making this film, Kaylin wants to honor the women who inspired and paved the way for her by telling their stories. In doing so, she hopes to inspire future generations.

People often ask me, “How do you make something go viral?”
I never try to make something viral for the sake of going viral, which is a very ambiguous term anyways. I try to make visuals which point out things which I feel are overlooked. Virality is just a side effect.
I come up with a unique visual idea and work with artists and experts to bring my vision to life.
I do lots of research. With each project, I say something new or elaborate on a subject in a way that’s never been done before. I consult with recognized professionals or use existing data. I direct each project through the whole process, working with talented artists to create flawless visuals.
One of my biggest inspirations is Steve Jobs. I encourage everyone to see the “Secrets of Life,” a short Steve Jobs interview.
Heroes are those who are admired or idealized for courage, outstanding achievements, or noble qualities. Tonights interview introduces you to Cincinnati's finest mentor and hero, Barrett Cohen. Heroes are not always found in movies or comic books. They can be found in our own backyard. I encourage all teens to find a positive hero.... admire them.... learn from them.... take the torch and pass it on!

Since dealing with bullying in middle school, Cornelius has become a strong advocate against bullying and has commenced production on the candid documentary "Hear Me Now" in order to raise awareness and give hope to the young people who struggle with bullying.
