Jeffrey Landesman started playing ultimate and freestyling in 1978 as a Junior in High School in NYC. That year his team CPI (Central Park Independent) won the NY State Championships. In 1979 he enrolled as a freshman at Pitzer College in Claremont, CA. He had been recruited to play soccer but had become so obsessed with ultimate that he never showed up on the soccer pitch. Instead, Jeffrey founded the Pitzer Braineaters, a team still in existence 42 years later. He did compete in some freestyle tournaments, including Indian Summer 1979, however, his love and passion for ultimate superseded his freestyle career.

Kevin Roth began to play the dulcimer in 1972 at the old age of thirteen, and at sixteen recorded his first album for Folkways / Smithsonian Folkways Records, which immediately launched him into international fame. Between 1974 and 1984 Roth recorded ten albums with this label, establishing himself as a prominent folk singer and dulcimer player. In 1984, Roth performed the theme to the PBS-TV children’s show Shining Time Station, which brought him to another new and much larger market. His friendship and collaboration in 2006 with Noel Paul Stookey, of the legendary folk trio Peter, Paul & Mary, further cemented Roth in American folk history. His career took him to a concert and symphony stages around the world, to festivals, radio, television shows, and two appearances at the White House.
As his career grew, Roth became professionally and financially successful, winning numerous awards and partnering with prominent companies such as Sony, National Geographic, PBS, Random House, and Time Warner. Then came a sudden diagnosis of Melanoma, and it changed his life. He had a choice to accept a death sentence or to live. He chose life. Through adapting and combining techniques from his music and performance practice with others that he researched, he found a simple and powerful method to change how he lived. Roth discovered how to not just survive but to become truly happy and thrive.
Roth now guides individuals and groups in the discovery of what really matters to them, how to accomplish their goals, and how handling stress is an essential factor in a healthy life.

Ken Hannaman is an executive leader in the restaurant industry with the responsibility of 700+ restaurants. In addition to his corporate responsibilities, he is also an author, writer, and mindset coach.
He is the husband to his wife and best friend Crystal, having enjoyed life together for 20+ years. Neither of them has navigated life on traditional terms. Together, they have marched against social norms and have forged a life well lived on their own terms, defined through them, and away from societal labels.
Ken has a real-life "nothing to everything" story. It has been through his relationships in the many different levels he's held in his corporate career that he's had the ability to reflect on what in life has made him successful. Having met, coached, and observed the lives and careers of thousands of different individuals, Ken has come to the realization that happiness, purpose, health, and wellness, along with personal and professional success are all the result of mindset and belief systems.
We often allow our lives to be defined by others, through education, religion, governments, and other organizations that indoctrinate us into the belief system that life is best lived one way - their way. Ken helps others find their way through their why.
It just requires a little bit of Ungraduation from the old views of a bygone era and the ability to see with new eyes how we shape our lives for the better or for the worse through our belief systems.
Through his own life experiences and rewiring of his own programming, Ken has broken free of the outdated belief systems that were holding him back from all his life passions and desires. His life well lived, is a result of his own inner work, reflection, and real-life learnings that he hopes will inspire others to discover that the lives they so desire are not in their heads, but rather mostly in their heads.

My name is Ali Kessler. I am not only a protective parent advocate, but I am a mom who just lost my 4.5-year-old son to a filicide-suicide just six months ago. Greyson Kessler was four years old when his own father murdered him during his court-ordered parenting time in the midst of a 'high conflict custody battle in Fort Lauderdale. I was a single mom from the very beginning. Greyson's father wanted nothing to do with us until he filed a paternity case when Greyson was six months old, for which he was instantly awarded 50% joint- custody. I was in an ongoing battle to protect my son despite years of evidence, including threats, degrading texts, violation of signed agreements, refusal to pay for school and activities, refusal to agree on anything, and then finally cyber stalked and tracking devices on my car. and then a petition for a domestic violence injunction the day before Greyson was killed, which was denied. I also begged for an emergency pick-up order when Greyson was missing from school for two days, and that was also denied.
The day before Greyson was murdered, I went down to the courthouse to file a domestic violence injunction. Two hours after filing, the injunction was denied stating not enough evidence was provided even though I wrote in BIG letters; I fear for my life, my boyfriends' life, and most of all, my son's life. I also attached 250 pages of documents and texts with threats and erratic behavior. I also tried to get an emergency pick-up order because Grey was missing from school for two days, which was also denied. I then brought my car into a body shop in which they found a tracker on my car. I immediately brought the tracker to the Plantation Police Dept. and filed a claim. The morning my son was found dead, I called the police three times during the course of the day to get wellness checks because he was still not in school. I called Broward Sheriff's Office, Child Protective Services, Ft. Lauderdale Police; nobody would help me, stating the child was with his parent. That night I hired a locksmith to break down the door and coordinated the police to be there, and they found Greyson and his father dead with gunshots to their heads. Despite four years of trying to get protection, I was failed by multiple lawyers, mediators, custody evaluators, and three judges.
After living a parent's worst nightmare for six months, I, along with an army of Family Court advocates and local politicians, finally received news that Greyson's Law was filed in the state of Florida. Kessler has been fighting for legislation that would allow judges to remove a child from a home over concerns that one parent is threatening or abusing the other. Kessler said to MSNBC, "I have to fight for my son who can't fight for himself." According to news reports, on Wednesday, December 1, 2021, state Senator Lori Berman of Palm Beach and state Representative Michael Grieco of Miami filed a bill, "Greyson's Law," which is the unfortunate product of the tragic death of 4-year-old Greyson Kessler. Greyson was the victim of a murder-suicide involving his father just a couple of months prior, which was 100% preventable.
You can show support to honor Greyson by purchasing a Mom + Gigs shirt, and loved ones created a GoFundMe page to assist Kessler with her living expenses during her time of need.

As the saying goes, old habits are hard to break but new ones are even harder to make.
But maybe we just don't have a clear understanding of how change actually occurs, as well as the types of things we are doing that hold us back from being able to initiate and sustain the types of change we want to make.
On today's podcast, we have Dr. Greg Matuskiewicz who joined us to engage in a dialogue on the subject of change and the steps one must typically go through for change to become more permanent.
Greg made a change later in life to pursue academically the many questions he has about why we do what we do after a career where his primary role was to grow revenue and engage customers through memorable experiences in both the entertainment and technology fields. It was during this career where he became deeply interested in human behavior and the role our biopsychosocial characteristics play in who we become, so he decided to pursue a master's in Clinical Mental Health Counseling and along the way, complete a doctorate in Sport and Performance Psychology. Greg has had a lifelong fascination with how humans learn and what it takes to perform optimally, especially in environments of high stress and his integrated approach to understanding a client's needs helps him identify the areas of resistance that are holding them back so that they can build new frameworks for improvement.
With the New Year right around the corner, this conversation could not have come at a better time!

Coming from a small town in Western Pennsylvania, American model Brandon Good had no idea that things would work out for him in the modeling world. His introduction to the business first started when he met an agency not far from where he’s from. When an agency in New York offered him a contract, he immediately took the chance. And good thing that Good took it because, so far, he’s doing a pretty great job at it. Dorsey was born on January 16th, 1977 with a congenital disability known as Apert’s Syndrome. When Dorsey was born, his forehead was pushed outward, his nose and mouth were pushed inward, and his fingers and toes were fused, meaning he had no individual movement of them.
Doctors gave Dorsey’s parents no hope for his survival and advised them to put him into an institution. His parents both knew and trusted in God, and they believed that God would do great things in Dorsey’s life.
Throughout his life, Dorsey has had to overcome a lot of obstacles, and trials, being bullied, called names like monster and freak, and undergone multiple operations. Teachers told Dorsey he would not make it in college, and with all odds against him, he entered Queens Borough Community College.
After four years there, and after attaining an associate degree, he entered the University of Valley Forge. After years of hard work and perseverance, he graduated with a bachelor’s degree in Youth Ministry. His life saying is, “can’t is not in my vocabulary” because, for most of his life, he has never used the word can’t. He believes that with God, all things are possible and that he can do all things through Christ who gives him strength. It’s with God’s help he is overcoming life’s obstacles.

He also served as an Executive Producer on The Naked Brand documentary, a film that chronicled the needed evolution of consumer brands and their advertising agencies due to the advent of social technology and a shifting cultural landscape.
In 2017, Joey took a break from his career to write a book called, Joey Somebody, The Life and Times of a Recovering Douchebag. His book explores the very heavy topics of parental neglect, arrogance, insecurity, anxiety, and episodic depression through the lens of dark humor and self-deprecation. He also launched a podcast called, Laugh Your Cry Out, where he invites his weekly guests to share their own stories of a less than optimal childhood - where nothing is off-limits - and laughing at oneself is recommended."

Patch is a former ad-man turned mental health professional. Patch spent eight years running social impact advertising agencies in New York City, climbing from the first employee to managing director and then partner in short order.
Despite being very proud of the social impact work he’d spearheaded, the impact was not as tangible as what he’d experienced via teaching, volunteering, or peer support in 12-step programs and group therapy.
Therefore, in 2019 Patch sought tangible impact as a clinical social worker, therapist, and coach. Patch will finish his MSW at UCLA in June and will be continuing to work as a Therapist at LA’s top community mental health agency, Didi Hirsch.
Patch’s mission is to normalize male mental health and male emotionality – as a social worker and therapist and as a friend, son, brother, dad, and partner.

A lifelong entrepreneur who opened my own highly successful real estate business in my mid 20's, realized it didn't bring me joy/fulfillment, so I sold it and became a cycling coach at about a 5th of the income. Built that business up moved to San Jose built the business up again there. Moved to Long Beach, built the business up again out of the country's premier velodrome The Velo Sports Center. I then created the Olympic Development Program for USA Cycling, including finding private donors to fund it and became the Head Track Sprint Coach. This was USA Cycling's first pathway program for track cyclists in 3 decades.
I've both competed and coached at the highest levels of elite sports, having personally won and medaled at World and National championships, I hold one World and two National records. Additionally, I enjoyed the immense privilege of working at the 2012 Olympic Games.
I've now retired from cycling coaching and work full time as a human behavior and performance coach, running Maximize Your Potential Coaching with Great Britain national team athlete Ryan Owens, we offer 1 to 1 emotional performance coaching, leadership workshops and coaching, Men's Groups, and athlete/coach mentoring.
I also helped my wife create Empower Therapy, a therapy private practice.

Dr. Benjamin Tehrani went to Podiatry school at Temple University in Philly, completed a general surgery internship as well as a 3-year reconstructive foot and ankle surgery residency at the county hospital of Phoenix, Arizona.
Dr. Benjamin Tehrani grew an appreciation for nerve pain and chronic pain after having worked at a level 1 trauma center and a burn center during his training and saw the devastating effects of nerve disease.
People involved in horrific car accidents and explosions suffered endless pain throughout the course of his training there, only to be given more and more pain medications which only masked the problem. The pain, depression, and dependency on others as well as on drugs were concerning to him.
Having a mother who is diabetic and had suffered from chronic pain and neuropathy for over 20 years - he searched for supplements and ways for her to beat chronic pain. That is how he founded Nerve Assist in the summer of 2020.
He is set out on a journey to help as many people around the world learn about the benefits of proper nutrition, sleep, and diet to help combat chronic pain and get them back to living independent lives again.

Jason Stein is among the mere handful of improvisers who play the bass clarinet exclusively. Stein leads the acclaimed trio Locksmith Isidore as well as his quartet.
He contributes to several of the leading bands on Chicago’s new-music scene and has brought a vital voice to the freest of free-jazz shows. Stein’s playing showcases an extraordinary expertise on the bass clarinet, which ranges from powerful post-bop lines to ear-grabbing wails in the altissimo range.
Chicago writer Neil Tesser notes that “Stein’s playing has a rawboned swagger particular to Chicago jazz in all its manifestations – from the trad playing of Bud Freeman and Jimmy McPartland in the 20s, through the tenor titans of the 50s, through the adventurers who formed the AACM in the 60s, and right up to the city’s renowned modern cadre of new-music improvisers.”
Stein moved to Chicago in 2005 and has since recorded for such labels as Leo, Delmark, Not Two, Atavistic, 482 Music, Clean Feed, Astral Spirits, Sunnyside, Ears, and Eyes, and Northern Spy. Stein has performed throughout the US and Europe as both a bandleader and sideman and has amassed a discography of over 40 albums.
