The purpose of The Ascent series was to learn skills that will help us on this faith journey. Because we said that "Being a disciple is not about acquiring information about God but acquiring skills in faith."
If we are going to be successful in life and in following Christ, we have to practice these skills and live out the principles we found in these 15 Psalms.
We need relationships to grow. We must choose our climbing companions wisely because they will affect our life, performance, and outcomes.
Our challenge to you today is to decide now, before the test comes, that you will obey what God is asking. Because faith is saying yes to God before God asks. And obedience always leas to good outcomes.
Humility is a key characteristic for the journey. Those without it think they know better than everyone else including God. Pride is a recipe for disaster. Learning from others and trusting others takes humility. Those who have it tend to be the mature ones in the room.
You have heard that "what doesn't kill you makes you stronger." But that is not true. The difficulties that don't kill us have the potential to make us stronger or weaker. The difference is our mindset going into, when we are in the middle, or coming out of those trials.

The faith journey we are on is like ascending a mountain- it takes specific skills, beliefs, and effort to make it to the top. This video is about the 9th Psalm in the series of the Songs of Ascents.
Work can be either good or bad, an area where our sin is magnified or where our faith matures. God wants to be at the center of all we do, this includes our work.
“We are one happy people." This Psalm is about joy. How we approach the past & what we expect of the future will determine the joy we experience each day. Choose joy!
Confidence grows with each step forward, it shrinks with each step away from the source of confidence. Progress is not made in the major strides but in the the small consistent steps we take. Watch this week's mid-week video to learn what step we should take next.
Is there a gap between where you currently are and where you want to be? This series is about closing that gap as we pursue better. This weeks skill is about taking time to think.
In this series we are looking for principles and skills that will make our life better. The 4th Psalm in the Songs of Ascents is about serving.
Thank you for listening to part 3 of our Ascent series. This week we talk about having the right expectations and how they impact our day and ultimately our lives.
We all have uphill aspirations for our lives but too many of us have downhill habits and actions. The faith journey is a process of transitioning from one degree of glory to the next. This series will help us learn some skills in going higher in life.
We are all Rich in some way. For some its wealth, others it's experiences, knowledge or skills, and for some it's relationships. Scripture commands us to be generous with our lives. We believe everyone benefits when we live to serve and help others.
Willingness to give makes the gift acceptable. Willingness comes from having a strong sense of why we give in the first place. When we lose our why we lose our way in managing our lives.
The more we have the more we tend to want more and the more we tend to worry. The truth is that there is never enough of more in life. The antidote to our issue of consumerism & materialism is generosity. This series will help us be healthy & take hold of the life that is really life.

Timothy Keller's statement in his book "The Meaning of Marriage is true for all relationships: "If two spouses each say, “I’m going to treat my self-centeredness as the main problem in the marriage,” you have the prospect of a truly great marriage." If we can work on our self, we can have healthier relationships because- Your relationships can only be as healthy as you are.
Every person is different. Each of us thinks differently, speaks differently, processes differently, and responds differently. Because relationships exist between imperfect human beings, conflict is inevitable in every relationship. Knowing this, we need to understand and approach conflict in an uncommon way so that our relationships can be the healthiest they can possibly be.
What kind of world would you live in if every word you spoke came true? The truth is we create the world we live in through our words. Choose to be uncommon in this area. Choose to build up, choose to speak life.
Nikki Jones did a great job challenging us to think about our relationships in a different way. Healthy relationships do not happen by accident but by being intentional.

We cannot expect positive outcomes with a negative approach. We have some amazing tools available for us to use when facing difficulties. We hope this week's podcast will help you know what to do when you don't know what to do.
What do you do when you don't know what to do? This week we were challenged to- Walk in Peace by living out the Truth we find in the Bible. When we do this we have protection over our hearts & we can stand our ground when things get difficult.
Have you ever felt overwhelmed by what is happening in your life? Or by what's happening in our world? This week we start a new series answering the question "What am I suppose to do when I don't know what to do?"
Our Guest Speaker Randy Joslin shares about what can happen when we trust God to use our lives despite our past.
Worship changes the environment & atmosphere. Choose to worship at all times in all ways.
Biblical Worship is a full-life response- Head, Heart, and Hands- to who God is, and what He has done.
This week we focus on our actions as it relates to worship.

Biblical Worship is the full-life response- head, heart, and hands- to who God is and what He has done. This week we talk about the head. Our thoughts are important, they will inform, then form our vaues
We all worship something. The question is what or who exactly do we worship. You can know by what you value the most by putting on the top of the list because worship is our response to what we value most. It's important we pay attention to what we worship because we will become like what we worship.

To live through a bad day—indeed, to conclude it—is to place it into the hands of God and leave it there. ~Jack Hayford

We all need others at times. Jesus gives us the example of being humble enough to ask others for help when he needed it. If we allow others to lift us we can get better, but it takes humility to acknowledge our need.
Life can be very difficult and at times we don't know why we are going through difficulties. Jesus modeled for us how we should respond during the darkest of days. He aimed His hardest questions at God, not man.
Someone once said that success is: When those closest to you think the most of you. This week we learn another tool to help us live through a bad day- Take care of those near you. We need to give our best, not our leftovers to those closest to us. And our best doesn't happen on accident, we have to choose it and plan for it.
The seven statements that Jesus makes while He was hanging on the cross gives us insight into how we can get through bad days. Lesson two is about His encounter with another person who was going through a bad day at the same time.
When we face a bad day we can learn a lot about how to live through it from the example Jesus gave us on that day that we call "Good Friday". Make no mistake about it, it was a good Friday for us because of the outcome, but it was a very bad day for Jesus.
His words that day teach us a lot about how we can make it through the bad days that we face. Starting with...
What does it take to become familiar with someone's voice? We end our series with giving some filters to what it takes to recognize if it's God's voice or not.
God whispers encouragement, warnings, directions, and dreams to us but sometimes we miss them because our lives are so loud. We must pause and listen if we are going to hear God speak.
One of the reasons that God speaks is to produce results. When we respond to His word we see more of what He wants to accomplish in our lives. The key is obedience and the longer we walk in obedience the clearer the spiritual picture becomes.
So many people ask the question- "What is God saying to me? This week we learn that it isn't a speaking problem but a hearing problem. Hearing God's voice starts with the heart. Learn to prepare your heart so that you will have clarity about what God is saying.
The choice we make of who is going to influence us in life may be the greatest choice we make because our friends determine the quality & direction of our lives.
Choose wisely. Start with being the person for others.
We have to be intentional with the way we manage money if we are going to end ahead and not behind this year. The average American spends $1.26 for every $1.00 earned. For every $50,000 that would be $63,000 spent. Thats a difference of $13,000 dollars in the red. The average American is not behaving in such a way that will help s/he end the year as the head.
The good news is it doesn't have to be this way. There's a better way.
If you make Sabbath a priority, Sabbath will help you prioritize everything else. A day of rest is a gift. We are commanded to work hard for 6 days and rest, unplug, recharge for one. It's a rhythm and cadence that if we keep we will go the distance.
Will you win the year? If so, your resources need to last the whole year. The best start is being ready internally by resting well.
Jesus came to give light in the middle of the darkest moments. This Christmas season don't miss any of the gifts that God has for you.
If you are discouraged, feeling down, or overwhelmed this season we want you to know that there is light about to break through. Don't let the darkness keep you down or stuck. There is always hope.
A Legacy is what people remember about us after we are gone.
What is your Legacy going to be? Live in such way that it would be a Legacy that God would be proud of.

Our Guest Speaker this week is Kelly Fulfer who is one of the Overseers for theGrove. It's important for all of us to have positive influences in our lives. We hope this weeks message encourages you to keep going even in the middle of a storm.
God is a God of process. He created the world to grow & mature in steps. If you want to become a healthy individual you have to learn to embrace process and commit to taking the next step.
People who have a strong sense of purpose reach their destination while those who don't tend to drift along. Following Christ is about living a life that reflects the life He lived. Choose to Live The Best Life Possible.
We all want what we don't have, and this is bad when we only focus on what we don't have and forget to notice what we do have. This is what the Tenth commandment is all about, being content with what you do have and using it wisely. When we live this way we have more peace and enjoy life more.
Truth is the cement that holds society together. When people don't keep their promises or can't be trusted things fall apart.
Freedom comes from being honest with yourself, others, & God.
Ultimately everything belongs to God and nothing belongs to us. This week the principle is Trust. Life is about trusting God for all things.
How much we have is not as important as what we are doing with what we have.
Any appetite we feed will get stronger. Intimacy is really about healthy relationships, being close to your spouse, and close to God.
Desmond Tutu said "Without forgiveness, there's no future." Too many of us carry past hurts with us everyday and these hurts are keep us from living a full life. It's time we let go and start living free.
Every year our church looks for organizations & ministries who are helping the poor & marginalized. This year we are partnering with CalcuttaMercy.org to help Feed, Educate and Assist with Medical support. Today's talk was about living a life that makes an impact.
We make a choice then that choice ends up making us. We have to live with the choices we make and some choices last longer than others. Start choosing the things that lead to life, not death.
What do people think when you walk into a room? Are they generally happy about seeing you? If so, you most likely add value to others. If not, you most likely take more than you give. We hope you choose to add value, it's one habit that will bring about some of the best things in life.
Can God really be trusted? When we face trials and test and difficulties this is a very important question to be able to answer. guest Speaker Nate Clarke gives us some great insight into the answer to this question.
The principle behind the 5th Commandment is Honor. It's suppose to start at home so that it can be passed on to others in life. It's the only commandment that has a promise attached to it; "so that it will go well with you and that you will have a long life."
The Sabbath is a gift from God. It reminds us of a few things: Work is also a gift, we are not God, we should not go back to being slaves, and it gives us greater effectiveness in life.
The principle behind the 3rd Commandment is Humility. Not taking God's Name in vain is about what we say but it is also about how we live. Our words reveal the condition of our hearts. and our actions reveal what we actually believe.
We are in a series about 10 relationship principles found in the 10 Commandments. Today we address the 2 commandment. Idolatry is where something takes the place of God. It brings an impurity into our life and God doesn't want you to walk in impurity because it affects our relationships.
God gave us His top 10 Commandments in Exodus. This series we are asking the question of why. What are the Relationship Principles behind each of them.
Most people have uphill hopes but downhill habits. This last week of the series we are focusing on choosing our relationships wisely. The people that we allow to influence us impact of who we are and who we are becoming. Choose wisely.
An important part of fulfilling your purpose is to make sure your purpose stays aligned. Why is it important and how do we master this habit?

Nothing in life changes until we change how we think. The same thoughts that get us to were we are will not allow us to get to where we want to be. Thoughts are powerful. Have a new thought.

Here are 5 things that will help you guard your heart.
We will face challenges and tests over and over again. Depending on how we view these challenges and test will determine what we get out of them. When we see them as opportunities to grow and build our character we get through them stronger.

Successful people do the opposite of what the majority do; they start from the inside out. When you do this you will be able to push through adversity because you'll have a greater reason to stick it out than to give up.

We will end up somewhere at some point, the question is where do you want to end up? You are preparing today for tomorrow. Prepare well.
"If you don't try to create the future you want, you must endure the future you get." -John Maxwell
Having the right plan is crucial to making it to the right destination. Once you set a clear target, start asking the questions- "Before I reach this goal, what would need to happen first? And before that? By this date ___, I would have to have accomplished this?"
And continue asking these questions until you have a clear first step that you need to take today.
No one ends up at great destinations on accident.
You can't hit a target that you don't aim at. You can't aim at a target that does not exist.

When we don't understand something we don't enjoy it as much or get as much out of it. If you don't understand the plot & purpose of the Bible it's the same way. It just doesn't mean all that much. But when you do, and you put it into practice, you can expect the same results of all those who have gone before us and succeeded.
The Bible is so much more than a book. It is foundational for the Christian World View. Throughout the Bible there are so many ''If... Then..." statements. These statements teach us how to live skillfully in each situation we find ourselves. May you discover all that God has for you as you hear, read, & explore the scriptures.
BUT... We conclude our series by talking about the "but" when it comes to believing in God. This is a really big but, it's critical that we take an honest look at why it's so big. So.. let's talk about your big "but".
Isn't science in conflict with Christianity? Doesn't science disprove God? What about the experiment my teacher told me about that proves evolution? Isn't the choice God or science? What about miracles?
Why can't we always feel God? Some people doubt the existence of God because they don't always feel Him. If He is always present, why can't we always feel Him?
Why do bad things happen to good people? How can a loving God exist when so much evil also exists? Does God even care?
Many walk away from a god who only wants to take away all their fun. This god is really about guilt, fear and control. This god focuses on the external rather than the internal, this is not the God of the Bible. If you walked away from this god, its ok, he doesn't exist.
What if the god you walked away from, or that other people have walked away from never existed? Maybe that's not a bad thing because it can help us find The One who does.
The Resurrection of Jesus gives you the power to close the gap between the life you are currently living and the life you've always wanted to live. Don't stop on Friday or Saturday, keep going, Sunday is only one or two more Sunsets away.
People who lose focus don't finish well. Don't be that person. Decide today to finish well and then stay focused. Don't compare. Don't lose focus. Stay in your lane.

Being Spiritually FIT is Focusing on God and what God wants in our life while saying no to unhealthy things that compromise our spiritual health.
Many start strong but few finish strong. If you are going to go the distance and like the person you become in the process, make sure you get this one key to being FIT.
No one drifts into being healthy. We can only become healthy by organizing our lives around principles and practices that produce health. In the same way being a Disciple means that we have to be disciplined in our daily routines doing what we can today, so that we can do tomorrow what we always wanted and have always dreamed of. This applies when trying to be physically fit as well as being spiritually fit. Start today with prayer and reading the bible.
There is a big difference between trying to do something and training to do something. If you haven't trained for something you might not succeed when you try to accomplish it. However if you train for it first, you will most likely accomplish it. It's ok to fall, just get back up, this is called training.
As we start a New Year the absolute best thing we could do is get healthy. Not just physically but Spiritually Healthy. We say it over and over but it is so true- Healthy People Do Healthy Things. And healthy people always start with the right things and then build from there. May 2017 be the year that you build upon a solid foundation.
Is it possible to have joy in every circumstance? No matter what? Yes, if you focus on the right things. In prison and through suffering, the Apostle Paul told us that it is possible. The joy of The Lord is our strength and Paul tells us where that strength comes from.
No matter what you face in this life, you can still have JOY.
When we find that our life is joyless, we can usually point back to a point where we did not sow good deeds and we are getting back what we sowed. Like wise, when we have joy, we can look back to a point where we sowed good seeds and we are enjoying the fruit. Every choice we make we are sowing seeds that will return with good things or negative things. Choice to sow good seeds that will reproduce joy.
JOY is central to the Christmas story. It's one of the words used to describe what happens when God shows up. The angels came to announce "good news of great joy". Joy is gift. Don't miss it this Christmas season.
In Romans 12:17 & 21 the Apostle Paul challenges not to play fair he writes- "Do not repay evil for evil... but overcome evil with good". This week give BETTER THAN you are given.
Input always determines output. If you want better outcomes you have to make better choices, each decision made is leading somewhere. The path that you have choose to walk, not intentions, will led you to a destination. Proverbs 3:5-6 tells us to put our trust in God and let Him lead. This is the way to better outcomes. Don't settle. Don't give up. Better is a choice, in fact it's a lot of little choices that lead to better outcomes.
Mother Teresa once said "If you can't feed a hundred, then just feed one." We all want to make a difference with our life, we all want to help. You were created to make a difference. But where does one start? Start with the things that concern you. Just do something.
United we stand, divided we fall.
The Kingdom of God is not about Red and it's not about Blue, it's BETTER THAN THAT. God's vision for your life is not the American Dream, it's BETTER THAN THAT.
Oscar Wilde said, "Be yourself; everyone else is already taken". We agree, you are unique. Nobody will live the life you are living. You are beautiful, because God created you. We are all made in the image of God.
It is hard to see beauty in others when we can't see it in ourselves. We can't see it in ourselves when we focus on what we don't have. When we focus on what's not good, we miss out on what is good in ourselves and others.
See the good in others. Steward what you do have. Pave the way for others.
Today podcast covers the biggest issue we could take on. Because of this issue, God came to earth, died on a cross and conquered death. We started theGrove to help solve this issue in peoples lives. If you solve every issue in your life but neglect this one, you may have a decent life, but it ends with your life.
We are saved by grace through faith in Jesus. May you come to know His saving grace.
Pride is like a cancer in our Soul, it always causes more problems. Pride causes us deceive ourselves because we don't have a healthy view of ourselves. Pride causes us to puff our selves up and minimize others, which leads us to view others as objects not people, and when that happens there are always serious consequences.
Our challenge this week is to become selfless by thinking of you self less.
To some extent we are all Control Freaks. Wanting control is not the issue though its who or what we try control and why that become the issue. Throughout the Bible God has a lot to say about trusting Him, because the true route to happiness is submission, not control. Learn to trust Him more. Palms Down, Palms Up.
When we can see ourselves as we truly are, we will begin to see others as they truly are. Today we point out the issue of brokenness in our world. We are all broken and need of healing.
You can grow to the level of your pain tolerance or you can grow to your potential. Choose the second, choose to heal and face the pain. When you do, the world gets more hope.
No one is perfect and no church is perfect. We all have cracks & flaws. We all have issues. For anyone who doesn't think they have an issue- that is their issue (denial). In part 1 we give the issue a name- "crazy".
Today we are challenging unhealthy ways of thinking. Specifically thoughts that keep getting us the same results that we don't want. If you always do what you've always done, you'll always get what you've always got. Have a new thought.
What we focus on can become the only thing we see. God always wants to help us see more and to live for more.
Partner with God in the greatest mission imaginable: finding what is lost, restoring what's broken and reclaiming what's His.
Everyone is asking three questions about Identity, Security & Significance: Who am I?, Where do I belong?, and Why am I Here?
The reason is because God designed us to have an Identity, security, and significance.
To help others find answers to these questions we need to tell two stories. Our story woven with God's.
Living in 3D and sharing your faith is about 1. Developing Friendships 2. Discovering Stories & 3. Discerning Next Steps.
Introducing someone to the God who made them, who loves them and has a purpose for their life is the greatest gift you can give someone. A relationship with God changes everything. We do this by simply walking across the room.
When we live by principle the pressure is taken away because many of our choices are already made. And when we practice those principles we have peace. Here are a few to begin practicing when it comes to how we handle money.
Start with God. Create Margin. Be Generous. Be Consistent.
Learn to live by principle, not pressure because when you do, most of your choices are already made and when you don't unwise choices are made especially when it comes to finances. How we handle money is the greatest indicator we have for what's most important in our lives. Learn to put God first and the results will always be more confidence in Him and more trust.
God has good plans for your life. Listen to our Guest Speaker Pastor Micheal Dickenson as he shares this week with theGrove about God's plans to prosper you.
May you hear God's whispers today.
The church at large has a branding problem. Many of our neighbors & friends have been exposed to a “different” gospel. One that has led to a world wide branding problem.
Too may people have been exposed to rules based religion rather than relationship with a loving, caring, close to us God.
And ask yourself, what kind of church does the world need to see? What kind of church does Santa Fe need to see?
Then go be that church.
Guest Speaker Pastor Kelly Fulfer is one of the Grove's Overseers. He and Liz Pastor Trinity Church in Portales, NM.
Let us learn to have a mentality of an Ark Builder and help many more come to salvation.
We are all one relationship away from changing the course of our destiny. Pay attention to the influences you allow in your life because they will either be positive or negative.
At just the right time help always shows up.
Just because we can doesn't mean we should. In this last part of Proverbs & Popcorn we are challenged to think through choice & the potential in every choice we make. When we have a good picture of the future & understand what God is up to, we make better choices. As long we only live in the now & for the immediate we remain stuck. Work hard, sow good seeds & don't give up, you will see a greta harvest.
The only way to end up at the right destination is to choose the right road. Direction (not intension) determines our destination.
Words are a powerful thing, they can be life-giving or death-dealing. And the words we speak reflect the conditions of our hearts, because out of the heart the mouth speaks. Whatever we put in will eventually come out. A wise person earns how to control the tongue. We pray you will be come wise.
There are so many voices in our lives telling us what to think, believe and sometimes feel about politics, relationships, lifestyle and values. In Proverbs we are introduced to many voices who are calling out. If you are going to be wise, you have to learn to listen to the voice of wisdom. If not you will miss out on all that God has for you.

Knowing and doing are two different things. If we are going to succeed at making a life we have to transfer our knowledge into action. Knowledge is knowing the right thing to do, Wisdom is actually doing it. This series is all about wisdom.
Wisdom is the art of living skillfully in whatever actual conditions we find ourselves.
Even if something is legal doesn't mean it is beneficial. Even though we can do anything, we must not become a slave to anything. Technology and Social Media are great tools but have an unintended negative side. They are even affecting our rest. We need to learn to have a rhythm of disconnecting each day and each week.
Because of technology, people are beginning to fear and avoid unfiltered communication. The problem is that the more we filter our lives the less authentic we become.
We all want meaningful relationships, and even though many are living for Likes, we all are longing for love.
Start today with an honest evaluation of yourself and take off the veil.
Technology is changing the way we do relationship. Cell Phones, computers & Social media make it easier to connect, but yet many of us still feel lonely.
This weeks Challenge is to Be Present & Be Engaged. Because in the end- Life is not about how many Likes you get. It is all about how much love you showed.

Easter changes everything. Without the empty grave, we have no hope, no future, no confidence. But because Jesus conquered Death we can too. He came to earth to fix what sin broke. It's not about religion, but about relationship.
We pray you that you will Know God.
Everything changes except God.
His Nature doesn’t change: Goodness, Justice, Love, Grace, Mercy, Eternality Doesn’t change. His Power is unbated. His Wisdom undiminished. His Holiness unblemished. This is because God is Perfect.
"Whatever is good and perfect comes down to us from God our Father, who created all the lights in the heavens. He never changes or casts a shifting shadow." James 1:7
Let go of fear and Trust God.
We miss the important things when our focus is on the wrong things. The bible is summed up in one word "relationships". Don't get focused on things that are not all that important because you'll miss relationships when things are your focus.
Is there something in your life that you care about enough to adopt a "think long" prayer strategy? If so, here it is- A "think long" prayer strategy is knowing WHY you're praying and not quitting until you see it.
Thinking Long Prevents Unplanned Destinations.
Here is the video we showed: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LZe5y2D60YU (google "Michael Jr: Know Your Why" if the link doesn't work)
Prayer is a habit thats needs to be cultivated, a discipline that needs to be developed and a skill to be practiced.
Praying hard is about not giving up. The greater the dream, the more we need to pray. The larger the obstacle we face, the more we need God's help. And in these moments when our prayers are answered we know that only God can get the credit.
A Big Dream is a dream that requires a miracle! It will require risk & if you don't take the risk, you forfeit the miracle.
If God would answer your prayers, what would you ask for? We hope that this series will inspire you to dream big, pray hard & think long when it comes to what you ask God for.
Don’t just read the Bible. Start circling the promises. Don’t just make a wish. Write down a list of life goals. Don’t just pray. Keep a prayer journal. Define your dream. Claim your promise Spell your miracle.
Hardship is good for us because it can makes us better people. People of character and integrity, and people of hope. And just because things are not going according to our plan, does not mean that they are not going according to God's plan.
Chose to hope in The Lord.
The climate of our relationships & emotions will improve when conflict is resolved, not ignored. An important detail to remember is that we respond to conflict out of character, not out of knowledge. When emotions run hot, reason is thrown out the window. Since conflict reveals character we need to learn to handle conflict well by allowing God to work in and through us. This year can be better than last if we choose to Change the Climate.
Our "Topography" is the lead influencer of our climate. Insecurity is a key topographical area that affects our Climate.
Insecurity is:
If insecurity comes from the fear of being unaccepted, then acceptance is the cure for insecurity.
The forecast for 2016 will look a lot like 2015 unless the climate changes. Our relationships will also remain the same unless we change the climate in them. Being open to what others see will help us make changes that are necessary for a healthy emotional & relational climate.
Small choices can make a big difference in your life. As we enter into a new year our hope for you is that 2016 will be a great year. Our challenge for you this week is to choose a destination for 2016 for the different areas of your life. Start with 1% changes & then follow through. We look forward to hearing about all that happened in 2016.
What's Your Name? If what is said about you is not good, then you need a name change & new start. Because God took on a new name (Jesus) so can we (Christian). Take the first step towards God & then Partner wth Him to help give others a new name.
There are a many names in the Bible and they are not there by accident. Names are pregnant with purpose and they speak to us about their purpose. There is one Name above all Names that gives us reason to celebrate the Christmas season: Jesus- God Sends Help. Let Him be your help.
Take one step toward peace on the inside. Work to forgive yourself. Step One- Receive God's Forgiveness. Step Two- Repair Relationships. Step Three- Rethink Who We Are. Step Four- Rebuild Self-Acceptance.
Forgiveness is a process. Here are 3 Myths of Forgiveness and 4 Steps to Forgiving Better. Take one step towards peace on earth or at least in your living room.
We can't give what we do not possess. Our world desperately needs peace & hope. God is still looking for & using those who will carry His blessings, His message & his hope to those around us. If we are to continue to stand we need to build ourselves up, through prayer. We also need to be waiting in expectation for God's plan to unfold. Seek God for more of Him today.
In the book of 1 Thessalonians Paul tells us to "Therefore encourage one another with these words". He is talking about the last days. There is comfort and hope in knowing how things will unfold in our world. Jesus told us "to keep watch" and to be ready, because He will return for His church. We should be living in such a way that we are ready at any moment for His return.
The greatest thing you can do for your future and for those around you is to establish strong guardrails. Standards of behavior that we choose will ultimately guide our lives. The turning point is when we make up our minds as to the direction our lives will go before we face the tension and temptation to give in to things that will distract or destroy us. No one ever regrets a guardrail.
The bible has a lot to say about money but it has nothing to do with money, but everything to do with our devotion. God's chief competition for our heart and devotion is money. Will we put our trust in God or in wealth?
We are all one decision away from stupid. And we are all one decision away from better. The choice is ours. The choice is yours. Guardrails are set to protect & direct our lives. No one ever regrets a guardrail, but we do regret not having them.
How we handle ourselves when it comes to sexuality may be one of the most important areas of our lives because it is the one area where the choices we make can potentially be the most detrimental. Nothing in God is addictive because He want us to choice His way, not be forced or made to follow.
Don't just listen to this talk, do something about it. The earlier you set guardrails in this area, the better.
The people we spend time with determine the direction and quality of our lives. It is the good and the bad of relationships.
A little pain is better than a lot. The sooner we put standards of behavior in place the less regrets we will have in life. Guardrails in our lives are to keep us away from really dangerous areas that will bring pain & death. Choose to pay attention to your conscience and to listen to the Holy Spirit.
Most people never make it the promise of fulfillment, which is the fourth core promise that God offers. He want's us to live a satisfying & fulfilling life that we call "The Best Life Possible". After and only after we accept & participate in all four promises will we truly live a fulfilled life. Our hope is that you will accept all that God has for you today. #wearethegrove

87% of Believers never move to the third promise of being Redeemed. Why do so few Christians take God's offer of Restoration? You need to Discover your gift, Develop your gift & Use your gift if you are going to accept God's third Core Promise. This message will help you learn to live more & to take the next step. #wearethegrove
God has offered us many promises that allow us to live the best life possible. His four core promises start with Salvation then moves to freedom. God wants us to move beyond Salvation & towards freedom. Freedom from sin & healing from wounds & authority over the enemy. To get through the second promise the right relationships are key. Choose to stay outside the box. #wearethegrove
The first step in the Christian Faith is to accept God's offer of Salvation. It all starts by making the move, letting it go, & committing your life. If you're wondering if there is more to life, the answer is yes & the more begins by taking that first step.
God has given us his very great and precious promises, so that through them we may participate in the divine nature and escape the corruption in the world caused by evil desires. God doesn't go back on His promises even when others may. He has placed an offer on the table, we pray you will accept it and experience The Best life Possible.
Have you ever misinterpreted something? Frustrated because life wasn’t going your way, later to look back to find that was exactly what you needed at the time. Or maybe you are going through something now. One of the most important factors that God is wanting to develop in us through tough times is trust. He wants us to trust in Him through all things. When we place Him first tests will come to help us keep him first. Embrace the process and work, that God is wanting to do in your life.
The core issue of not putting God first is that we don't believe in the faithfulness of God. Uncertainty can be a barrier to trusting God but uncertainty with fear will lead to worry. Instead of worrying about tomorrow look for a way to participate in what God is doing today. He is trustworthy.
It's not easy to find something everyone agrees on, but we do know that everyone wants things to be better. Another way to say this is that everyone wants happiness. Happiness is a byproduct of having the right priorities because order brings happiness. Jesus said when we put God first everything else will be added too. Put God first.

We are only as good as our relationships. Others can affect our outlook on life. God called us to be an influence in this world even when others don't agree with us. We are called to speak truth in love.
Without faith it is impossible to please God. One things God is trying to accomplish in our lives is to help our faith to grow. Many times the very things we don't want to go through are the things that we need to get stronger. Those that have put their trust in God and gone through difficulties can tell you that when the air clears, "God is faithful". Taste and See!
Have you ever been so busy that you have asked yourself "How can I get through this?". Today we want to help you understand how you can can.
We pray that this message will help you this week.
We desire to be a church that doesn't suck from our community but that gives life. When we say #wearethegrove we are saying we are a life-giving church & we are life-giving people. When we ask #howfarcanyougrove?, we are asking how far can you take the life-giving message of Jesus? What we do matters & who we influence makes a difference. Join us in following God in being generous with our lives. Choose to be life-giving.
Movement is life. If we stop growing we stop being all that God created us to be and it can and will lead to death.
Maturity is a choice. Choose to take the next step even when it only seams like you only have a little to offer. Give what you have and let God multiple it so that it will become a God impacted outcomes. #wearethegrove
Jesus promised the disciples a Helper, The Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit is available to us today in the same way. A large part of the maturing process comes from the help of the Holy Spirit. He shows us & helps us on the journey of following Christ.
Walking in step with the Spirit of God means we are obedient to the truth He leads us to each day. Becoming a mature believer means we obey what He asks of us by applying to our lives the truth of scripture each day. Unapplied truth is like unapplied paint, the value is in the application.
You become what you behold. What we choose to focus on drives our decisions & actions. As we mature Jesus needs to be our example. His teaching bring life but they are not always easy to follow. If we are to grow up in all things what we focus on will be what helps us to continue to grow or hold us back & keep us stuck.
Here is a link to the video we opened the message with. https://youtu.be/X9HlHmY-PsA
One of the reasons people don't want to grow up is that they lack a good picture of what a healthy mature adult looks like in the physical as well as in the spiritual. When kids don't see their parents having fun & enjoying life, they may not want what you have.
Others will follow when they see something worth following. We challenge you to have fun. Show up, early, ready to work, with a positive attitude & a teachable heart. And if you do this consistently others will notice & begin to ask why you are different.
Lighten Up! Enjoy Life!
Maturity is being unselfishly concerned for or devoted to the welfare of others. It is about serving others especially those who are unable to pay us back. Part 4 is about looking at others who are doing this. We are highlighting a Ministry in Ghana, Africa called City of Refuge Ministries. Our guests are Johnbull & Stacy Omorefe the founders of this great ministry. You can find out more information at http://www.cityofrefugeoutreach.org
Our challenge this week is to look for opportunities to serve others. Pray about giving to this great ministry.
Refusal to give up is key if we are going to grow up in all things. To continue to mature we have to have a growth mindset. We need to learn to stick with it and not give up when it gets hard or uncomfortable.
Growing Up takes time and has different stages. This series is about finding the principles to help us navigate those stages. Growing up is not just about knowledge but understanding what to do with what we learn. It will take work, but the results will be worth it. Embrace the process.
Life is very rewarding when we grow up. We get to do more & we get to have more. God is looking for people who He can bless so that they can bless others. In this episode we discuss the importance of growing up and how your life can produce a huge harvest.
Easter is really important & when you understand it, it changes everything. When you understand the core idea of something all of the other parts make more sense. The core idea of Christianity is centered around the reason why He came, why He died, & that He's Alive!
God gives us dreams he wants us to fulfill. He created each of us with imagination and a unique set of gifts and abilities to accomplish our dreams and bring glory to him. When we step out in obedience we may find obstacles in our way. Just as David faced Goliath, sometimes our problems may seem like giants standing in the path between us and our dreams. As we face these delays, discouragement, disapproval and doubt, we can remember how God helped us in the past, use the tools God has given us right now, ignore the dream-crushers, and expect God to help us for his glory. Dream again!

As we face these delays, discouragement, disapproval and doubt, we can remember how God helped us in the past, use the tools God has given us right now, ignore the dream-crushers, and expect God to help us for his glory. Dream again!
Money has tremendous power for influence, either for good or for bad. For that reason, Jesus had more to say about money than even about heaven or hell. Either you learn to manage it, or it manages you. In Luke 16, verses 1-13, we read one of the most shocking stories Jesus ever told—about the shrewd manager commended for his strategic thinking, in spite of his dishonesty. From this parable we learn four things not to do with money: 1. Don’t waste it (verse 1); 2. Don’t love it or live for it (verse 13); 3. Don’t trust it for security (verse 3); and 4. Don’t expect it to satisfy (verse 15). Sadly, a lot of people are poor money managers. Because he has our eternity in mind, Jesus wants to transform how we think about money.

If you have a Bible or have access to www.BibleGateway.com, begin by reading this story in Genesis 3:6-19. Fears can ruin our relationships, so we must learn to face our fears and not ignore them. Today we identify some of those fears, as well as how to apply the antidote of learning to live in God’s love and offering that same love to others.

Your mind is your greatest asset. That’s why there is a war being waged for your mind. The world, the flesh, and the devil are enemies that want to steal your thoughts from the things of God, and turn them to desires that can turn your life away from God's best. But you can control your thoughts and resist temptation. You have a choice. Have some new thoughts.

There are seven major sources of stress, any one of which can take our physical health down in a hurry. They are: worry, work, problems, indecision, loss, opposition, and fear. In Psalm 23, God offers the antidote to each one, reassuring us that he is worthy of our trust.

The right community empowers us to make better decisions which lead to better outcomes. Choose wisely because success & failure runs in circles.
Since we make poor decisions in isolation, the answer is to have people around us who will help us make better choices. We believe that community empowers us to make better decisions which lead to better outcomes. The key to this is to have the right community who in turn will promote the right thought process so we can make healthy decisions. #wearethegrove

Average comes natural, its easy. But the kind of life God is inviting us to is by far average or normal. God is looking for people to step away from the land of average to live a life of purpose and meaning. Prayer is a great starting place to discover which step He is asking you to take. Take time to connect through prayer.
God invites us to leave the land of average so that we can live a life of faith. He is still looking for individuals He can bless so that they can bless others. Our spirit & relationship with God will be made stronger if we can disconnect from things that our body craves and needs. What we feed gets stronger and what we starve gets weaker.

In order to change this we cannot be average and we must reject the status quo in managing our time, talents and resources. The Best Life Possible is about following The One who made life in the first place. We only get one chance at this life, why not live the best one possible? Following Jesus takes trust. When trust is difficult, we need to evaluate whether our expectations of God were correct or not.

Seeing, hearing & doing is all about us becoming someone. God is more concerned with who you are becoming than with what you do. If we are going to follow His lead, we need to learn to surrender.
