Engels lays out the relevant history and context for the second half of the essay, which will get into the meat of the communist world he envisions. The Conquest of Bread Finale! Finally after all these weeks (not to mention a power outage midway through the stream!) we have come to the final part of the final chapter of this book! Though this chapter of The Conquest of Bread by Peter Kropotkin was relatively short, it provided a lot of good jumping off points to talk about things like what an anarchist society would look like to Peter Kropotkin, the soul crushing nature of hyper specialized capitalist work, and many others.
I used this Sunday Funday to dive into the world of permaculture. We covered the three ethics Bill Mollison and David Holmgren laid out, Earth Care, People Care, Fair Share.
We talked about the 12 principles from David Holmgren's book, Observe and Interact, Catch and Store Energy, Obtain a Yield, Apply Self Regulation and Accept Feedback, Use and Value Renewable Resources, Produce No Waste, Design From the Patterns to the Details, Integrate Rather Than Segregate, Use Small and Slow Solutions, Use and Value Diversity, Use Edges and Value the Marginal, and Creatively Use and Respond to Change.
