Our guest is Dr. Norbert Myslinski, Associate Professor of Neuroscience Department of Biomedical Sciences School of Dentistry, University of Maryland and creator of the international Brain Bee: the annual competition in which high school students from around the world take the challenge to demonstrate their knowledge about the brain and brain diseases. Dr. Myslinski, a neuroscientist himself, decided to inspire students to study the field of neuroscience by creating this competition using the Society for Neuroscience’s excellent study guide, Brain Facts.
Our very special guest interview is with Nora Volkow, Director of the National Institute on Drug Abuse (NIDA) at the National Institutes of Health. Nora was kind enough to join us for a discussion concerning addiction, nicotine, risks for pregnant mothers, and the need to vigorously support scientific research.
