Based on Qatari folklore, radio-play “The Pearl Diver” combines the best traditions of Russian radio plays and contemporary playwriting. Original script that was commissioned specially for the project (no) borders, brilliant acting and sound design would immerse the listener into a fairytale atmosphere.
The story's protagonist Ali, a young pear hunter, in the search of true friends overcomes different obstacles thanks to his perseverance and moral courage. The production unites tradition and contemporaneity, creating a safe space where the good defeats the evil, while the faith in miracle could change even the most insurmountable barriers.
The (no)borders project aims to reinterpret borders, real and imagined, geographical and cultural, and invite you to a space of dialogue, joint actions and collective reflection on the future.

Canary Records @towhatstrangeplace is a label devoted to ethnography, collecting, and storytelling. Its owner and sole member, Ian Nagoski, researches and reissues the archival music of American immigrant diasporas. Ored Recordings founder Bulat Khalilov spoke with Ian about tradition, honesty, and immigrant influence on American culture.
