We created this track messing around in the studio while under lockdown a few weeks ago. As it grew arms and legs we realized it was not only relevant to the times we are currently living in but also contained an important message.
So we decided to make it available for a small donation, with all money received being donated to The American Nurses Coronavirus Response Fund - which provides assistance to frontline nurses who are putting their lives on the line to protect our own.

Hey sloth fam, here’s a small token of my love and gratitude 🖤 Thanks for your support and patience, I’m getting something ready for me and you to stay in touch over the next months, stay tuned. For now though, I uploaded the recording of one of my last live appearances on the decks for now at @sound_nightclub in Hollywood, Los Angeles, 2/22/2020. The recording is 5 hours 20 minutes long. It also features @tau0n , @whoishush and @dj_jtj , all friends collaborators of my label @slothacid , who hopped on each for a few trax during the night. The mix is a journey, going up and down, I was having such a blast and got loose like my Italian self when I cook pasta while drinking a bottle of red wine in the process. Also I was sober that night. Let's remember the good times we had and cherish great memories 4ever, like this musical snapshot.

***After spending the latter half of the 2000s cutting his teeth in the music industry as one half of Robosonic, Belgian producer Sacha Robotti has spent the last decade on a solo tip, cranking out colourful and vibrant house music. However, for his next release he's teamed up with Boston producer and multi-instrumentalist Steve Darko for new EP Whistle Tippin.
First track out of the gates is "The Inside", a slippery and energetic feet-mover with a bit more of a techno influence than past outings, but still packed with deep grooves and plenty of bass. The rest of the three-track release features the title track and "Eliminate", a darker club track produced with Robotti's good friend and collaborator, L.A producer JTJ.
Speaking with Complex via email, Robotti told us: "I'm very excited about this third release on my label Slothacid! It's a collab with Steve Darko who I'm a huge fan of. We worked on two tracks together and are joined by my production buddy JTJ on the third. "The Inside" is the dark passenger of this EP, it started off as Steve‘s idea of a more techy roller with kind of psychotic vocals and a more alarming vibe than the two other originals. We kicked the project back and forth a few times until we had the final result you can hear! Hope you enjoy!"***

The track is a dirty little nugget based on a siren-like repetitive melody capable of spiraling your mind into a meltdown; the whole thing sits on a haunting bassline and boasts some alien sound effects, and if you listen closely you can hear X-rated vocal samples. When Robotti makes a rare stateside excursion to perform at the upcoming, inaugural Dirtybird Campout next weekend, he'll be bringing his A-game, assuming he doesn't get taken out by Claude during capture the flag or attacked by a gang of ornery squirrels hopped up from nibbling substances they found on the ground. Both of these are legitimate possibilities.
'Animal Encounters' is the theme for the mix Robotti has put together for us, so imagine a dance circle of ornery squirrels getting down to Butch, DJ Funk, Radio Slave, DJ Deeon, Kill Frenzy and Robotti himself in what is an immediately-gripping selection of house and techno cuts. "Dirtybird artists meet Toy Tonics for the second time. First Ardalan and now Sacha Robotti and ZDS join the German label for a collaborative EP of two tracks of quirky bass influenced techno.
Sacha has a rich musical history. He studied music with none other than KARL BARTOS from Kraftwerk. He has many solo works out under his own name (including a recent collaboration with Claude VonStroke and the massive 'The Major' feat DJ Rush). He has also found time to be half of the Berlin based duo Robosonic.
Nat Self aka ZDS is a London based producer who has been fortunate enough to have played many of the worlds best clubs (including a residency at Panorama Bar) and to have had out a long string of music on a multitude of great labels including : Dirtybird, This and That, and Classic to name a few.
This EP should surprise many of their old fans and make them a lot of new friends for sure. Check the EP out!"

YO! I made this little monster with homie Kevin Knapp for my fave label's 10th birthday! Here's what Claude Vonstroke has to say about the release:
"I can't think of a better way to celebrate DIRTYBIRD's 10 year anniversary than by releasing 14 great tracks that I fully support. There’s no fluff in here. Everyone from our amazing talent pool has delivered their A game material. And l have also added a few great new names to the family.
It’s hard to believe that this little project started in my bedroom in the Lower Haight, San Francisco 10 years ago. I can distinctly remember hand stamping vinyl promos at home with my friend Fernando and trying to figure out the best way to mail them to Europe. I remember the very first guy to ever call me back about our music was Edgar Dirksen in Frankfurt, Germany, who was working at a now defunct distributor called Neuton. This was the only place that would agree to sell our records back in 2005 and I still thank him for taking the chance on us.
There have been many many people involved since the beginning. Special thanks to all who have helped me run the shop at different times such as my wife Aundy, Mike Bosley, Christian Martin, Adam Carter, Sharen Norden, Bryan James, Luke Williams, Jonathan McDonald, Alastair Duncan and Stacey Gamble. Of course I couldn’t have done it without my good friend and the amazing music producer, Justin Martin, who helped shape our sound and also really define what it means to be part of DIRTYBIRD.
A lot has happened in the music industry over the last 10 years but I like to think we have stayed consistent and managed to enjoy the ride. The players may change but the theme stays the same; keep it fun and funky. So please enjoy this very special compilation of our music and here’s to another 10 years of DIRTYBIRD!
