Can the paths of righteousness truly lead us through affliction and into a deeper connection with God? Join me, Connie, on the latest episode of the Weed Seeds and Beautiful Things podcast as we explore this profound concept through the timeless wisdom of Psalm 23. In "Pathways to Deeper Righteousness," we challenge the conventional understanding of righteousness by dissecting its definitions and considering a more genuine interpretation. We uncover the enrichment that comes from navigating life's toughest challenges with the guidance of the Lord, urging us to embrace these experiences for our ultimate growth and spiritual resilience.

We discuss the strength that emerges from our weaknesses and the transformative power of trusting in God's plan, even when it's uncomfortable. With the metaphor of children as "holy sandpaper," we illustrate how life's experiences shape us into who we are meant to be. Join me on this deeply personal episode of the Weed Seeds and Beautiful Things podcast as I recount my tumultuous journey of being wrongly diagnosed with schizophrenia due to the autoimmune disorder PANDAS. Drawing powerful parallels to the biblical transformation of Saul to Paul, we'll uncover how our past can shape our present and future, and the profound impact of resilience in overcoming adversity.

Navigating through life's valleys of adversity, I, Connie, open the doors to my soul, revealing the struggles with Lyme disease and the looming threat of a blood-related cancer. The fear, the discouragement, the chaos that clouds our true calling are but stepping stones to resilience, as I've learned by walking this challenging path. In a raw and candid conversation, we take solace in Psalms 22, drawing parallels to David's trials and the unwavering presence of God. Join us as we explore the spiritual compass that guides us through suffering and discuss how empathy can foster a deeper connection with those enduring similar battles.

Together, we dissect the idea that spiritual maturity often blooms most beautifully from the soil of significant adversity. And while the road to deliverance may lead to this life or the next, we affirm the steadfast goodness of God, even when our hope flickers in the wind. Let this be the signpost for your faith, a reminder that our trials are within His sovereign domain, shaping us into powerful testaments of His enduring faithfulness.

Have you ever felt like you're wandering through a desert in your life, searching for a sign of hope or growth? Join me, Connie, as I bear my soul about the trials I've weathered and the resiliency I've cultivated by placing my trust in God's plan. In this heartfelt episode, we traverse the biblical landscape of transformation – where deserts bloom with life – and reflect on the powerful metaphor of 'planting seeds in the desert'. Together, we consider the paradox of finding strength when facing barrenness and the beauty of new beginnings that emerge from the most arid parts of our existence.
This conversation is an invitation to view your own challenging seasons not just as periods of struggle, but as opportunities to grow, learn, and blossom with God's grace. We dive into the lessons of Isaiah 35:1-4a, drawing strength from the vision of deserts rejoicing with flowers. I share how, like desert flora and fauna, we are equipped by God to not only endure but to flourish amidst our personal deserts. This episode is designed to uplift and inspire, offering a reminder that your struggles are not wasted and that, with faith, life's harshest environments can yield unexpected and wondrous growth.

Facing the heat of life's challenges can leave us searching for a beacon of hope, and it was during one such personal 'furnace' moment that a profound truth struck me: we are never alone in these trials. My own journey through the shadows of loss became a canvas for expression, where each brushstroke was a step toward healing and resilience. This episode is an intimate exploration of how our darkest times can lead to the most illuminating of transformations. As we delve into the stirring promises of Isaiah 43:1-2, I invite you to join me on a path of courage and commemoration, where our pain becomes the very thing that forges an unbreakable bond with the Divine.
The heroes of old, like Moses and the trio in the fiery furnace, remind us that our trust in God's eternal goodness is the shield that guards us from despair. Together, we examine the unique tapestry of trials that each of us faces, understanding that these experiences are not punishments but rather invitations to draw nearer to our Creator. As I share stories of how faith has protected, provided for, and delivered those who have walked before us, let this conversation be a wellspring of encouragement. No matter the intensity of the fire we face, this episode stands as a testament to the power of faith as our unwavering shield and guiding light.

I once found myself at a crossroads, grappling with the weight of an uncertain future and the choice to trust in something greater than myself. This episode is a testament to that journey, where we navigate the delicate landscape of trust—specifically the trust we place in God's character over His capabilities. We'll unpack wisdom from a Tony Evans devotional, exploring how surrendering control and embracing God's nature can lead to an unshakeable faith, even when the road ahead is veiled in mystery. Join me as we reflect on the biblical narratives of Psalm 81 and how my personal experiences with art and grief have revealed the profound solace that comes with true reliance on God.
Trust is not just a belief in what God can do; it's a deep-rooted confidence in who God is. In today's discussion, we dive into the essence of trusting God's character, drawing upon the lessons learned by the Israelites and the empowering presence of the Holy Spirit in our lives as Christians. We consider the conscious choice to trust in God's will, in abundance and in trials, and the strength we receive through Christ Jesus. It's about making that choice to trust, knowing full well that inaction is a decision in itself. This episode invites you to join us in a heartfelt exploration of scriptural insights and personal stories that will inspire and challenge your walk with God.

In the word study, she gives you the steps to study your WOTY, plus an example of a past word of hers, the verses she found, and the key takeaways she concluded with. A dear friend dropped by recently and we had an enlightening conversation about past experiences where God has intervened in our lives. We marveled at the freedom and the faithfulness that springs forth when we think about how God orchestrated everything in His perfect timing. This revelation allowed us to step into a space of deeper faith in Him, free from the fear of failure. We also spent some time talking about a unique offer you might be interested in - keepsakes hand-painted with calligraphy watercolors. They serve as beautiful reminders of God's constant faithfulness.
As we move further, we unpack the richness of Jeremiah 1:11-12, a scripture which beautifully portrays God's vigilance and activity even in the dreariest of seasons. How comforting it is to know that even when we see no proof of goodness or movement, God is actively watching over us, working for us. We challenge ourselves to remember God's faithfulness in our past and trust that His favor will arrange everything at the perfect time. Come, join me in this journey of faith and be reminded that the blessings we enjoy are not a result of our doing, but a testament to God's unwavering faithfulness.

Are you ready to embrace the bittersweetness of life and faith? This episode promises a compelling exploration of how we can find beauty and divinity in both our joys and sorrows. We will break down the Hebrew concept of bittersweet, an idea that encapsulates surrender and a bent spirit, to understand how this concept can show us the way to lean on God's provision. As we weave back and forth through the good and bad moments life throws at us, we find ourselves surrendering more to God's plan, finding solace not in the change of circumstances, but in the unchanging goodness of our God.
Digging deep into Psalms 103 and First Chronicles 16, we find comfort in the eternal mercy and love of God, a reassuring reminder that even our longest sufferings are fleeting compared to the everlasting nature of His goodwill. Let these passages inspire you to refocus on God's character, to renew your heart's resolve to follow Him diligently. I will share a refreshing perspective on how the beautiful coexistence of worship and sorrow shapes us as Christ followers, proving that life's sweetness and bitterness are two sides of the same divine coin. Whether you are in a season of abundance or drought, we hope this episode encourages you to recognize the bittersweet reality of our existences and find strength in your struggles.

Ever wonder how you can live a life of peace amidst the turmoil? In my latest episode, I explore the profound messages in Psalms 16 and 32, demonstrating how placing God at the center of our lives can offer us peace even in the face of adversity. Together we explore the importance of viewing God as our chosen and assigned portion, our cup, and how this perspective can change the way we live our lives. Even in situations where our physical realities may seem harsh, we discuss how the Lord can anchor us to a peace that surpasses understanding.
But our discussion doesn't stop there. We also delve into the comforting power of faith in God. Trusting in Him, we discover, is a potent source of solace and satisfaction. As we traverse the inspiring terrain of Psalms 32, we uncover the liberating truth that no matter how great our external trials may be, they cannot reach the spirit within us. Have you ever found yourself in a wilderness season of life, struggling to trust God's plan? I’ve been there too, and I’m here to share my journey of faith and learning to lean on the Lord during these trying times. Through my own experience with pregnancy and battling anxiety, I’ve discovered the power of using fear to redirect me to faith, and reaffirm my belief in God's goodness. Join me as we delve into Deuteronomy 8:2, emphasizing the importance of remembering that we are not alone in our journey – we are being led by the Lord and can trust that God is faithfully working on our behalf.
There's a paradox when it comes to success with God, as it often completely contradicts with what the world calls success. We'll explore how the perfect love of God sometimes calls us to carry loss and pain, rather than the victory and comfort we might expect. God is with us, leading us through our wilderness seasons, offering opportunities to experience His presence in a more real and tangible way. No matter what season you're in, remember that God is by your side, guiding you every step of the way. So, let's walk this path together and learn to trust in His unfailing love.

When Life Is Stressful We Can Still Trust In God
Friends, I am honored you are here. I pray you find encouragement as you listen.
When the winds of life continue to blow it’s easy for us to become tired. Tiredness ushers in doubt, and doubt, brings with it feelings of hopelessness. These are normal human emotions and a fairly normal cycle to fall into during seasons of persistent difficulty. When stresses are high it doesn’t seem to take much work to believe the negative reality around us that looks so real. A doubt-filled perspective becomes almost too easy to ignore.
When we begin to accept the negative perspective as truth, that will not only affect our current state of mind, but also, our current view of God. This is why it’s so important that we continually persevere in clinging to the right beliefs about God, especially, in times of intense pressure. Even when we cannot make sense of what we are we are walking through, we can hold fast to who our God is.
This is interesting, because, maintaining our right belief about God really isn’t tied to our circumstances… at all. This is hopeful for us, because, there is a space where we can rest in His goodness while everything around us shakes. There is peace in the unknown, because what is known to us, is enough.
There is the “normal” life, where we cycle in and out of endless insecurity and doubting the goodness of God. Or there is, as Watchmen Nee says, “the “normal” Christian life”, where we rest in the assurance of who He is despite what happens. So today, as you are facing your own personal stresses and tensions all tempting to lead into the easy path of hopeless doubt, choose trust. Choose it, because you don’t have to have all the answers to know that God is good. Choose trust, because there is more for you than a life of being a tired soul only beaten up by the struggle. You can be built up by it too!

Special guest, Mischelle Saunders Gottsch, from the Altered Stories Podcast and ministry joins me for a very wonderful episode.
I haven’t known Mischelle for long, but it doesn’t take more than a moment after meeting her to know she’s special. Her ministry is far reaching and her heart for the Lord is just as big.
I’ve found it very encouraging to meet so many wonderful women of faith who show true humility and dependence on God. Mischelle’s ministry is a collection of testimonies, which she calls God stories. Every story points to the truth: God is with us and with God there’s always hope.
I believe you will find this podcast to be a breath of fresh air and very useful as a tool to encourage your faith. Mischelle is an ordinary woman who, through continuous surrendering, the Lord has used in a mighty way.
I want you to know how much Jesus loves you. He loves you so so much. Just as you are, right now. I hope that you will continue to seek the truth that is available through knowing Him.
Reach out if you need prayer or have a question about your faith. I’d love to be a listening ear.
Thanks for listening to the Weeds Seeds and Beautiful Things podcast. I hope you will share it with your family and friends.

Special guest, Misty Phillips, CEO of Spark Media
Misty Phillips is an incredible woman! So talented in so many ways.
God is using her and her heart for people to further his kingdom in many wonderful and diverse ways.
Misty, is a mom, wife, fashionista, lover of Christ, and people. You will ALWAYS find her with a great hat, or two! I was surprised by her humility and personable nature when I spoke with her.
She is a genuinely kind and person whose heart has stayed snuggled up with the Lord even as she has catapulted into success.
I’ve heard it said, that failure is easier to handle than success. I believe that’s true. We need extra caution and preparation to be mature enough to handle God-given success.
All glory is God’s, and we as humans really struggle to keep the main thing, the main thing.
Misty, is the CEO of Spark Media, the By His Grace & Spark Influence Podcast on KHCB Radio, and an award winning author, of, The Struggle is Real but So is God Bible Study.
Misty uses her natural ability to draw people together by helping faith based podcasters become equipped to face the ever changing world of technology and podcasting.
She assists us both in staying afloat, by providing practical tools, teachings, and mastermind groups, as well as, encouraging and uplifting fellow podcasters.
She is a seasoned entrepreneur whose awesome husband is right by her side. Together, they are calling the world of faith based podcasting and podcasters to stand up, stand out, and be a voice of hope in this present darkness.
Two of my favorite quotes from Misty…
1.) Stay grounded in the Word, flat on your face.
2.) Be faithful wherever God has you and pray all along the way.
You can find Misty on all your favorite platforms! Be sure to check out, and sign up for Spark!

Happy Friday! Last week, we got to hear an incredible account of how the Gospel message fits into our human struggle with depression. My friend, Steven, who is the host, of, The Nook Podcast, came on and shared about his struggle with clinical depression. Not only was it eye opening, but, encouraging.
Today, with great honor, and permission, Steven, has allowed me to share an episode of his that took place during a rock bottom experience with his depression. This is a beautiful portrayal of the human experience during a season of deep struggle. Not only that, it is a picture of the suffering and struggling Christian. A picture that is too often avoided, ignored, and not addressed.
We want to separate Christianity from hardship and prolonged sorrow. We want to believe that following Jesus means no more assaults on our souls, but in truth, the God we serve, does allow pain and sorrow in His children’s lives. Along with this hard reality, we have hope! An unending hope, one that promises the faithful presence of God during every moment of our time below the dark waters.
Steven, is a remarkable man. I was bolstered so much by speaking with him. He also addresses the stigma surrounding mental illness. This is an episode you will not want to miss.

Steven Murphy, Depression and the Christ Follower
Today, I have a very special guest episode to share with you. Steven Murphy, fellow brother-in-Christ, podcaster, and advocate for those who struggle with depression, joins me to discuss the darkness of depression and the hope of Christ.
Steven, hosts, The Nook Podcast, the title stems from an interesting story…. So be sure to listen!
Steven Murphy is a believer in Christ, love Him fully, is dedicated to the work of the kingdom, but has not been fully delivered from his own personal struggles with depression and its havoc.
He candidly, and vulnerably shares how he has come to terms with loving God and remaining faithful, while lacking a total healing. Steven’s story will compel you to face your own questions about the faithfulness of God while suffering remains.
Steven will help us to value our weakness, even when they are mental ones that challenge our everyday functionality.

Friends, the special guests just keep coming!
Boy! Has God blessed me this past couple months with some amazing testimony’s and new friendships.
Today, I get the privilege of sharing an interview I did with Lana Scroggins.
Lana’s story is one of radical faith, the kind that Just’s steps out in total trust even the situation is dark, along with the personal hand of God taking care of every detail.
Lana is also a podcaster, artist, author, and speaker. She can be found on the web at https://givingjesus.com. Her podcast can be found on her website as well.
Lana shared with us the pain of homelessness and financial distress. She is honest about how she lived when she had nothing and kept hope.
She has an undying love for God and helps us to understand the courage it takes to follow Him, especially when things look impossible.
God has an unlimited range of using anything to bring together His will and desire for our lives.
Control is an illusion that we often fall prey to. We believe we can control things, or need too. We fall into the wrong thinking that we can manipulate God or His will. When things get hard we find it so easy to blame, question, and threaten to quit.
One thing I am thankful for (and there’s a lot) is the testimonies of the faithful. Both, in scripture, from the past, and today. Stories of hardship and despair told by those who know God and chose, despite their sorrow, to hold onto the truth is SO ENCOURAGING.
Let this episode refresh and enliven your trust and confidence on Jesus. He has a good plan for your life and loves you! That cannot ever change.
“Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of lights, with whom there is no variation or shadow due to change.”
James 1:17 ESV
God is forever, only good.
Hope walks on, no matter what.

Don’t Stay Stuck!
Today on the show, I have a special friend on air with me. Her name is, Crystal Loyd. She has quite a compelling testimony. Crystal came on the show and shared her story; years of sexual abuse, trauma, family lies, and the goodness of God.
It’s funny how often the goodness of God is associated right there in the midst of the terrible. Testimony after testimony, there it is again. His goodness right in the center of our mess.
Ask anyone who is a hardcore Jesus lover, they will say the same thing. God is good. He never left me. He had His hand on me and my life.
Crystal’s life is a resounding picture of the staying power of our Heavenly Father. She tells us of running from God and His hot pursuit.
Crystal shares how she kept her running shoes close by as she walked with Him. Do you do this? Trust Him a little but always have a backup plan? I know this is a struggle for me as I try to grow up with the Lord.
Trust requires a letting go and an embrace of the unknown. Trust says, we can’t rely on feelings in the place of truth. That we must choose to place our life, needs, heart, and all else into the hands of God. That is, and can be, very frightening. Crystal explains this struggle well. She has empathy and understanding of the fear that often accompanies our faith.
Friend, if you are feeling defeated by your past and hopeless regarding your future, what do you have to lose??
Tune in, to the, Weeds Seeds and Beautiful Things Podcast to be encouraged and exhorted to live submitted to God, even though there is a big cost.
There will never be a perfect time to trust in God. Nor, will there ever be a you that’s fully ready. But God! He is always ready to work and able to do! He doesn’t need you to be “ready” He only asks that you come.
You are loved and cared about. Maybe you haven’t experienced that from your family or peers like you should have. Maybe you feel alone, defeated, or without help. God, will not ever leave you or forsake you, and He loves you.

You have come so far!
Hello friends! Happy Saturday night. I apologize for the late upload, but I got quite sick this week and my son, who is my editor, had a last minute engagement.
Today, on the podcast, we are going to take a step back from our up close and personal view of our lives. This view can become suffocating when we stay in it for too long. As the old adage goes, you can’t see the forest for the trees.
This is true with life as well. We can lose sight of how far we have actually come, the blessings that are present, and the continuous hand of our good God that has been upon us.
As we take a step back we will become freshly encouraged. Our spirits will be lifted as we renew our focus and see clearly the goodness of God.
Things can be hard but good. Our goals and progress can take a long time but every little step matters.
In the thick of it God is with you. Always working behind the scenes. Let’s be encouraged and carry on with great hope.

You don’t have to try.
Do you ever feel like nothing you do makes a difference? Like you cannot seem to get ahead? You can’t stop that bad habit or say no to that thing that you shouldn’t do?
We can also feel the weight of our inability inside our relationship with Christ. We reason, God must, at most, be disgusted with me, and at best, think I’m a loser. He certainly doesn’t like me as I am, or dare I say, love me.
How could He??
We think we have to work really hard at being a “good” Christian. We have to “do” something to get any potential help or favors from God.
Friends, I’m learning a true truth! One that’s 😱😃 not new, but new to me and life changing!
You, and I, DON’T have to work, try, or do anything to have all the grace and mercy of God always be there for us! Yep, I know! It’s great! You might be thinking, that can’t be right? I have to try in my walk with God. I have to do stuff.
And, yes, we should “try”, but our attempts to try and walk with the Lord will always follow after His pursuit of us and our response to Him calling us. Doing things is a byproduct of loving God, not a necessity to our position in Christ, through salvation. If we could ever do anything to effect our salvation then we wouldn’t need God. We can’t do anything that will affect our position in Christ once we are saved. Absolutely nothing. Nothing good and nothing bad.
What a miracle this is! We can’t ever change our position in Christ, nor His thoughts toward us. That is the definition of security.
So, you my friend can rest in this security. This true truth.
Follow along with me as we discuss the amazing love the Father has for us who believe. This truth will effect every part of our lives, enabling us to walk securely in the love of Christ as we face this difficult life, day by day.

How does faith work and affect our lives?
Well, that’s a loaded question if there ever was one. And, I assure you, I don’t have all the answers. I may not even have much of any answers at all. I do know, however, that faith is a real thing, it works, and it can get stronger.
Faith, is one of the many gifts of God to us. It‘s typically is childlike in its beginnings. Especially, when we are young and semi untainted by this world and it’s harshness. Then it’s very easy for it to get cynical and crusty as we get older and the storms of life have hammered us a bit. How can we get and keep the childlike faith of our youth? One that resembles freedom through the radicalized belief in good and safety, while establishing the strong tethered anchor to truth over feelings and momentary desires?
God says in His word, the Bible, that our faith needs to be tested to grow, has the ability to move mountains, causes us to not only please our Heavenly Father, but enables us to walk in close fellowship with Him. Faith is like a gateway that is always there but we must choose to “act” which is obedience, and walk through it. We can’t stand there and say we have faith while life, emotions, self, and the gamut of other things hits us. Faith needs to be an active part of our life, not a stationary statement we say. Anyone can say, I have faith! And, by the way, many do. But, real faith is so much more than a tagline or even a battle cry.
Real faith is a hard core belief and action in response to the truth of God and His word. It is not easy to strengthen our faith but worth doing. God gave us the Holy Spirit, who is our helper. He intercedes for us and walks with us through trials designed specifically to strengthen us.
How faith works and affects our life go hand in hand. Like building blocks. You can’t have one without the other.
Join me today as we talk deeply about faith. How faith works and how faith affects our life.

How do I Grow up in My Faith?
We all know faith is journey and within that journey, there is a struggle.
Faith in God must be built on facts. No assumptions, emotions, or accusations. The truth of God, more specifically, knowing this truth, leads us into a mature faith.
Faith is our anchor. Holding us fast to the truth of God in the storms of life.
It must be grown and cared for to be of benefit to us and through us to others.
Join me, Connie, to have a real and vulnerable discussion regarding the growth and struggle to gain and take hold of a true faith in God.
This episode is sure to bless you.

Be Bold! Enter into His Promises
Today on the Weeds Seeds and Beautiful Things Podcast, I will take you back in time to the story of the children of Israel, God’s chosen people, into the long awaited promised land.
Sometimes, it can be very difficult to wade through the waiting and to keep facing our problems, while we are hoping to enter the “promised land”.
We can even lose faith that there is good for us from God. When things take longer than we anticipated, we have a perpetual tendency to lose faith and our trust in him.
Today’s show helps us to understand the importance of holding on to the promises of God. We need to continue to not only cling to our hope, which is Christ, but to ask boldly for his blessings, while believing his heart is for our best.
Although God never changes, we do. We will struggle from time to time with our ability to trust.
But, we can know, with absolute confidence, God has a GOOD plan for us! He is working behind the scenes to weave together the beautiful story called, our life.

The promises of God to us are spectacular, but they won't just fall into our laps. We must work and labor alongside God to reap the fulfillment of His promises. Today, I'll show you this from the standpoint of the children of Israel when they finally crossed over into their promised land. Their crossing over wasn't a guarantee of possession, their willingness to follow and obey God was.

The slow fade.
Have you ever wound up somewhere you shouldn't have been and thought, how did I get here? Out of the blue, a convergence of small events seemed to come together and created the perfect storm.
I have, and it's never fun.
As believers why do we so often miss the "signs"?? Why does it take the fallout instead of us being able to catch ourselves, and redirect?
Join me today for an insightful and sobering message. I know it will help you to catch the little things before they get too big to handle.

Today on the show, I'll be sharing my heart with you. We will go deep into the behind-the-scenes importance of being stable and submitted in seasons of waiting. God sometimes calls us to stay little (for a while) and cultivate faithfulness in the little he has given to us, even when we feel ready to take on more. But, rest assured! He will move us out into broader pastures... when the time is right.

Hi podcasting pals! Do you ever feel like God, more often than not, takes us the long way around? I mean, so often I'm like, why is this taking so long? I know, and agree, that's not good to do, but I just find it so hard to trust and wait.
Anyone else??
Well, I'm certainly always trying to learn how to follow Jesus better, even when it's hard to do. But, I am thinking there's got to be a special blessing and new level of trust we will reach when we can submit to just wait on the Lord's provision and timing.
Join me today to discuss a Bible story where we see first hand, the Lord take His children the long way around, and why He chose to.

Where is God? Do you ever wonder where God is when you are suffering? Today on the show, I will discuss this very thing.
When we are suffering it can feel to us that we have been abandoned by our peers, friends, family, and God. Feelings generally make our suffering harder, they can be hard to turn off and very strong. It helps to have some effective coping mechanisms up our sleeves, but even more importantly, it helps to know what God says about times of suffering.
Join me today to be encouraged that you are never alone.

Hi friends, so glad to share this day with you. Season three begins!
Season three will be all about perseverance. I have three key verses that will be our foundation as we move into this new season.
1.) Romans 5:3;5
2.) Hebrews 12:1-2
3.) Matthew 24:13These verses share the importance of continuing on no matter what. From them, we can gain strength to see our journey through, regardless of how hard it may be.
The word Persevere means to persist in spite of counter influences, opposition, and discouragement. To carry on.
A counter influence is an influence that opposes another influence.

Hello friends. Welcome to the show:)
Today I will be sharing an encouraging message with you. You're in the right spot for a pick me up. Life is tough, but in the toughness, there is great beauty and strength to be found. Although our journeys are different we need encouragement and support all the same.
It's a blessing from God that we aren't called to compare our lives, struggles, or successes. That each individual life with all its details matters to God. No matter how smooth or bumpy, each life has value, purpose, and worth.
When we yield our lives and devastations to God, He promises to work on our behalf. To use those times and struggles, even successes for His glory and our good.

Hi, friends welcome to the show. I am so glad you are here. I hope you have had a good and productive week. I am rolling along at almost 28 weeks pregnant :) I haven't gotten a lot done around the house but I sure have with the Lord! And, I can't wait to share it with you.
I had quite the realization about myself this past week and victory, and as it unfolded, I saw a great opportunity to share the amazing grace of God.
Protecting ourselves. It is something that we often do without even thinking, and it can be unhelpful to us.
Even to the point of us sabotaging ourselves. Today, I want you to come on a vulnerable journey with me deep into the heart of our insecurities. I want you to know, no matter what they might be, they're not too big for the grace and compassion of Jesus Christ to bind them up.
Please tell your friends and family about the show, and join me next time!

Hey there friends! Welcome back. As always, I am so glad you're here.
Boy, have I got a message of encouragement for you! Today, we are going to be taking this show deep into scripture to see what Jesus, Himself says about suffering and facing hard times.
Jesus had his own personal journey of suffering, including going to the cross. The way He faced and dealt with pain offers us a lot of information and encouragement. He is King of the universe, yet because of His love for us, He chose to face, endure, and submit, to the worst form of suffering.
Today, I'm sure you will leave with a more hopeful perspective when you face the next hard thing.
Let's listen in and gain new insights from the Lord Himself through scripture

Hi friends!
So glad you have stopped in to listen to the show. Today is going to be an encouraging and thought-provoking episode. I know you'll take away some great truths.
We are going to be talking in-depth about how to evaluate, understand, and surrender, to follow more completely after Jesus. Even though we aren't perfect we are called to progressively get closer to Him. To become more and more surrendered. And in order to do this, we need to be able to see and uncover the areas and places where we are living for ourselves.
Please join me, and let's get to it:)

Glad to be here with you. Today I'm going to be addressing a sensitive topic. I will be very candidly and openly discussing suicide, if you are in a hard place I believe you will find great insight and encouragement. This will also be a good episode for someone wanting insight on the subject.
I would recommend parents and caregivers listening without young children around until you have determined that this episode is appropriate for your younger listeners.

Hey friends, welcome, welcome.
I am thankful to have had the opportunity to record another episode. I am so thankful for you too. We aren't meant to go through life alone, and I'm blessed by our community.
Today, I'm going to share how and why we should give to God from our lack, instead of our plenty. I will also talk about how we can relax and feel peace as we come to understand our insufficiency. When it comes to God, He truly welcomes us as we are... broken and flawed sinners. In fact, that is where we are most safe, broken before God.
Being broken doesn't have to mean you are in a time of crisis (it can, of course) but it's not exclusive to any particular event. Being broken is more about not hiding who you are from God while at the same time not being content to stay in the same place, all while accepting your humanity with grace.
I look forward to hearing from you! Be sure to share this show with your friends and family, as well as leaving me a comment below. Let me know how I can pray for you or if you'd like to be a guest.

Hi, friends welcome to the show. I am truly glad you're here. I hope you had a wonderful Easter.
For some people, I'm sure it was a trying day. Please know that if you are suffering there is hope. Also, know that it's ok to feel down and depressed. Some days and times are just hard. If you feel alone and you're a believer in Christ, He is holding you no matter what you feel.
If you don't know Jesus Christ, there is hope for you too! If you are alive, you can choose Him. Just believe in Him, that He is the Son of God, the atoning sacrifice for our sin, and the ONLY way to salvation is through believing in Him. Decide to agree with Him that you are a sinner in need of a Savior, and ask Jesus to come and dwell inside your heart and to save you from an eternity apart from Him.
On the show today, I will be discussing how we can know if we're running away from a situation that God is calling us to stay in and endure. It's easy to jump ship and move on when things get difficult, and especially when they get downright ugly. But I am convinced that God doesn't always want us to leave that job, school, relationship, church, or situation because it gets hard.
So let's get going! I know today's episode will be an encouragement to you.

Hi friends, so glad you stopped the show today.
On the show today I'm going to flashback to an older, and popular, episode. I am doing this because something came up on my homefront that prohibited me from editing my next episode. I contemplated just letting you know I couldn't get it done and not airing an episode at all. But, then I thought, why not play an older one?
Please know, I take this show very seriously and value your time, but sometimes life happens:) If you have heard this episode before, just come back Monday for a fresh one. No worries. But, if you haven't heard this epispde yet, then you are in for a treat! In this episode, I give a candid look into what its like to struggle with wanting real healing. We all think on the front side we would love to be healed from, this addiction, that behavior, or that illness, but we rarely come into seasons of healing with any real idea of how it works, or how demanding it can be.
Don't be fooled into thinking by that last sentence that this is a debbie downer of a show, because it's full of hope and encouragement. But, I like to give you real truth and facts about things too, which means that you won't be fooled and then discouraged, but secure and prepared for whatever you face.

Hello. Welcome to the show. I'm so glad and blessed that you are here.
Today, I want to share some insights with you that I have learned about the benefit of our past experiences (even the terrible ones). I believe our past failures, hurts, successes, tragedies, and joys, are lessons. And, powerful ones at that.
They hold a wealth of information, wisdom, and insight just waiting for us to access, and apply, to help us further our healing journey. Our past is not simply something we must come to terms with, accept, or leave behind.
Yes, we want to overcome the power of the past over us in our current lives, but there is so much more the past has to offer us! Listen in, and I'll share this truth with you.

Hello friends, welcome back to the show.
I am excited today, the message of healing is such an awesome one.
The freedom we have in Christ is so inexhaustible and limitless.
Today, on the show, we are going to be addressing the lack of faith we can struggle with when we feel our suffering is undeserved or has gone on too long. We will also talk about the unrighteous anger we can have towards God when we lack the answer we wanted or the intervention we thought would be best.

Hi Guys:)
Welcome back to the show. It has been a crazy week and I'm glad to stop and be here with you. Although I'm not there in the physical, I am in spirit.
Do you consider your brokenness an asset? Or just an annoying or painful problem? I don't blame you if you chose the second. I know from personal experience, that seeing our trials and weaknesses as a good thing is really hard to do.
But with God, ALL things can and will work for our good if we are in Christ Jesus and called according to His purposes, as it says in Romans 8:28.
So join me as we look at how our brokenness is an asset in the hands of God.

Hi friends. Today, I want to take a quick detour from our normal episode and share an important truth about God that I was reminded of this week.
Is there some storm you are facing?
Do you feel alone and outnumbered?
Are you questioning God about what is going on?
Well, you are NOT alone!
Today, I want to share an unsettling storm I faced this past week, and how God used it to remind me of His power and purpose over the trials we face.
If you are in a storm right now, you can be assured, you are held there in the midst of whatever you are experiencing. There is no place you will go that is outside of God's sight. You may be in the middle of chaos, but, even there, you can be at peace.
Please let me know how I can pray for you.

Hi friends! Welcome to the show, I'm so glad you're here. I hope your week has been wonderful.
Today on the show, I want to talk to you about having big expectations when it comes to God. We often have a small view of God which hinders our belief in what He wants to, and will do in our lives.
When I say to have big expectations of God, I'm not meaning in a self-centered way. Our God is not a gumball machine God, and He doesn't jump when we say jump. But, He absolutely does desire to do big and wonderful things in our lives.
The verse in Ephesians 3:20 is so important to help our understanding.
Where it says, Now to Him, by the power that is at work within us, is able to do superabundantly, far over and above all that we ask or think.
This verse is key to us beginning to comprehend the heart and character of God. It's showing us that His desire is to do big things in and through our lives. Knowing God is vital for us to gain an understanding of Him, which we need to grow our faith and expectation.
Please send me any prayer requests or questions. I love to hear from my listeners.

Welcome back. I am so glad you're here. Today on the show we will talk about the importance and the need of having you in the world, just as you are. Part of that is you being vulnerable instead of hiding yourself so you don't get hurt. Being hurt is an unfortunate and painful part of life. But, not being you and hiding so you don't get hurt has a major cost too. I'm going to address how you can be you and handle any opposition that comes your way. The world needs you, and all you have to offer. Let's dive in!

Hey friends! Welcome. Today on the show, we are going to discuss, as it says in the above title, isolation. Feeling isolated can manifest itself in many different ways, such as being lonely, feeling unwanted, or unseen, it's even possible to experience the strongest sense of isolation in a room full of people. But, have you ever associated isolation with hope? Today, I'll help you to see that every thing you face can be used for your good, including feeling isolated. When you are feeling most alone you are positioned for the closest encounter with Jesus. So take heart, press on, and let's get to it!

Hi there! So glad you're here. Have you ever struggled with loneliness? Or maybe that's you right now? Loneliness is an uncomfortable feeling, but even more uncomfortable to discuss or worse yet, admit. When we discuss feeling lonely or abandoned, we run the risk of getting hurt. But, today on the show, I am going to talk about just that. I want to bring you a fresh perspective on loneliness. I want to show you that sometimes seasons of being alone are true gifts from God. I want to help you thrive in your season of being lonely. I know it can be done, so join me as we dive deep into God's word and talk through His truth on the matter of loneliness.

Hello there:)
In this episode, we're going to talk about what to do when you fall down, mess up, or face discouragement on the pathway to healing. As many of you know, all can be going rather smoothly in your life, and then one day you wake up and it's just hard. This can feel rather confusing when we are doing all the right things.
Sometimes, on the journey of healing, while we are enjoying new freedoms in Christ from our past hurts and hang-ups, things just get difficult. We can feel out of sorts and be taken by surprise when what was easy yesterday is hard today.
Today, I want to share some of my "fall down" moments with you, and the lessons I am learning as I travel through them. I think it will encourage you and help to bring some perspective to your moments of weakness as we journey together to be stronger in Christ.

Hello friends!
Do you want to know something I always wished people would've talked more about when I was younger?
Insecurity, disability, social anxiety, and all the other stuff that makes a person feel as if they stand out and look silly. I desperately needed someone to care enough to tell me it was ok to be me. I needed guidance to be able to understand that, no matter what, I have value. You have value. And, our value is not diminished by what others think or don't think about us.
Thus, the title, No Approval Necessary.
In the show today, I am going to encourage your heart with the truth about your worth. We will address the difficulty of switching from seeking people to affirm us, to allowing Jesus to do it. Today's episode is a very personal topic to me, it will be an encouraging and honest talk about us, the people who struggle with their worth.

Hey! I'm so glad you are here. I know, I say it practically every week, but it's true. I am thankful for every one of my listeners. Today, on the show, we will talk about the difficulty of healing. To assume that because healing seems to indicate health and favor, and that's all we will experience, is simply not true. Believing that healing is easy or should be, simply puts us directly on the path towards giving up. We need to be prepared. Healing IS a wonderful, liberating, and amazing journey, but it is also, one of the hardest things you'll ever do. Accepting the rights to this passage is not for the faint of heart. But, that's great, because you are NOT alone! There is One who will go with you, on your journey, should you choose to accept it, and He is not faint or weak at heart.

So glad you have made some time to stop in and listen to the show. It's a privilege to be able to share my heart with you. I pray for my audience and the words I will speak before every episode is recorded.
Today's show is the show that was supposed to be the beginning of our new journey together. But due to some minor rearranging, we are playing it today. The title, Little By Little is straight from scripture. Exodus, to be exact. This verse is God speaking from His heart on the topic of healing. We are going to just address all the things regarding healing moving forward.
I'm so glad you are here. Please be sure to like, comment, subscribe, and share the show.

Hello.
Welcome.
I have been praying for you.
Today, we are going to embark on a series discussing healing. What goes into it, and why it can seem so hard. Does God intend for each of us to find healing? Yes. Although, it may look different than we anticipate, healing and restoring is what God does. It is in His nature.
So sit back and relax, as we dive deep into truths that are sure to encourage and strengthen you.
One thing... Sometimes in the editing process, mix-ups can occur. This week is one of those times. You will notice that we are skipping the intro to this series, not permanently, it just hasn't been edited yet (you know, all the cool music and such). So you won't miss anything, it's just going to be out this coming Monday instead.
Thanks so much, your host, Connie

Today we will be talking about being held in the fire both literally and figuratively. We all know that God can, and does, use the fire of adversity as his tool of choice pretty frequently in our lives.
Fire is a great purifier and although it is very painful, it can lead to some of our greatest blessings. I hope the message today will encourage you and bring you some comfort to hang tough when you are in the fires of trials and adversity in life.

Hi, and welcome to the show! Today I'm just continuing down the path of James 1, where we will talk about why it's important to rejoice during times of suffering. I feel certain this won't be a dry episode, but, one that will bring a fresh perspective and spiritual insight on the matter.
If you are anything like me, it is not easy to rejoice when I'm feeling bad. But, what if there is more to it than that? What if our rejoicing has nothing to do with our dislike of the place we find ourselves but more to do with the hope we have in Christ to see us through?
Well, today we will talk all this through! I am really glad you stopped by.

Hello! So glad you're back with us today here on the show. In James 1:4, it says, But let endurance, steadfastness, and patience, have full play and do a thorough work. So that you may be a people lacking in nothing.
It is hard to look at trials and suffering as opportunities, but they are! They, in fact, can be the BIGGEST ones! If we learn to rewire our brains and hearts to view trials as an opportunity then we become unstoppable. Because with Christ, that is what we are! More than conquers!
Today on the show, I will help you begin to figure out what you need to change to begin to take the steps necessary to begin that rewiring process.

Happy Monday friends! Alright, alright, maybe that is too full of excitement for a Monday, but I'm sure glad you're here. In this new year, the Weeds Seeds and Beautiful Things Podcast is going to be dropping more great content every week. Every week, moving forward we will drop a new episode on Mondays, and Fridays! So now you can get double encouragement and double faith-strengthening fun every week from your favorite podcast!
in today's episode, I will be sharing nine points I learned from the Lord, as I was studying my Bible in the book of James. These points are surrounding the importance and purpose that trials and suffering have in the lives of believers. That being said, this year in the podcast, I desire to pull in unbelievers as well as believers who have turned away from their faith. I believe this will be a place that God will use to bring redemption and clarity to those struggling with their faith. Please help me in spreading the word about the show!

Happy New Year! Welcome to the show, I am so glad you stopped by. Today, we have a special guest, author, and speaker, Heather Creekmore. Heather writes from her heart about the issue of comparison. I will be discussing with her today about her new book, The burden of better. It was an amazing time of deep conversation and I know you will find it interesting, helpful, and insightful.
Comparison is something that is a universal struggle, it plagues us all from time to time. Whether through the feelings of inadequacy, or insecurity, or jealousy, we have all struggled with comparing ourselves to someone else.
One thing I loved about my time with Heather was her firmness in the belief, that we can live a life free of comparison. She is a living and breathing testimony of God's healing regarding the plague of comparison. Hey friends! So glad you’re here. Unfortunately, OKC had a terrible ice storm last week. We, and many others have been without power. Currently, my family is still without it. Which, is why this episode is late! I have no power and no internet, therefore, no podcast. 😩 My son, Adam, just got his power back on and so here is the episode for this week! I’m hoping everything will be back to normal by this Friday, but there is a chance we will still be without it. So please don’t think I’m gone if it’s not out again on time, as things should be back to normal soon. Appreciate your prayers and as always, please like, share, and comment! Hey friend! So glad you're here. I don't know about you, but I am enjoying this colder weather. I love the rain, cold, and snow, but I also adore bright colors! I know, silly, right?!
I also love onions. Like I adore them. Last night, as I was cooking supper and peeling an onion for the dish I was making, I was pondering about what I will share with you today and how it resembles the many layers of an onion.
Redemption.
It's a complex word and it is a process. But, we often associate it with a quick one-time event. Today, I will be encouraging you as you may be facing a situation in need of some redeeming. It's easy to feel discouraged when things take time! But don't! When God is involved there is always hope and a reason to lift your head!

Do you know someone who struggles with being overly sensitive?
Or, is it you, that struggles?
Boy! I know I have.
We can often feel shame when we focus on our weaknesses and the struggles we have.
But, I want you to feel encouraged!
There is nothing shameful about having something you need to work on. Don't feel bad, be empowered! Anything that you are willing to face, Jesus is ready to heal. Oversensitivity is just another issue we face that our enemy likes to take advantage of, don't be fearful or hopeless, be determined!
Today, I will be helping you to understand this hang-up better, and begin to come up with practical ways to overcome it. I will also share insights about how to help a friend or loved one who struggles with being overly sensitive.

Have you ever been affected by insensitivity? You know, the oops, I didn't mean to, or the thoughtless advice from a friend? Insensitivity is something most of us have dealt with at some point. It can come in the form of forgetfulness, a bad piece of advice, or an unkind joke, and in many other ways. What do we do if we have been hurt by another's insensitivity? How should we respond, inwardly, and externally? Should we say something? How do we recognize if we are the ones being insensitive? Why is insensitivity a big deal?
These questions and more will be addressed over the next few episodes of the Weeds Seeds and Beautiful Things Podcast. Along with an in depth discussion of insenstivitity within the local church. I will be addressing insensitivity from the perspevtive of being affected by it, being insensitive, and good and poor responses when dealing with the issue of insensitivity. I am so glad you stopped by to listen in today! I do hope you will share this podcast with your friends and family, and drop me an encouraging comment below.

In today's episode, we will continue discussing how to thrive when we find ourselves in a season of waiting. Waiting can cause us to feel down and restless, it can produce doubts and questions. Waiting causes wrestling. I think that is often one of God's purposes in allowing seasons of waiting. We can learn to wait well, and come to deeply know Jesus and His love for us through seasons of waiting. I am sure glad you're here!

Wait. The word nobody likes. Being told to wait sends a feeling of desperation through our souls. But, waiting and not knowing, that's the worst! How long will I wait? Why am I waiting? What do I do while I wait? These questions and many more plague our minds when God puts us in a season of waiting.
In this three-part show, I will be talking about waiting. We will be discussing why God chooses to use waiting as his tool of choice, so frequently, how we can manage our big feelings during periods of waiting, and how to wait well. I hate waiting just as much as the next person:) so you'll be in good company as we search scriptures and wrestle it out.
Be here on September 11; we will have a special guest on the show! I will be sharing my interview with Miranda Jo Davis, a bestselling author, award-winning freelance writer, and an expert, with over twenty years in the Christian yoga and meditation industry.

Hey friends! Glad you're here.
Have you ever wondered why you struggle with that particular situation, sin, or why you do that quirky little thing around others when you get nervous? Have you looked at yourself in the mirror and why you were always so prone to self-doubt or fear? Don't spend too much time thinking about your weaknesses, eh?
Me either! On the show today, I am going to have you consider something about your weakness that might seem a little unconventional. I'll be talking about our weakness as being designed by God for our good, just like our strengths are.
Weakness gets a bad wrap, but they are beneficial, and if we can understand our weaknesses, we will be able to use them to our advantage.
Join me as we fearlessly address the issue of weakness!

What we believe is vital to how we live and the quality of our lives. We operate based upon what we believe. Sadly, very often, what we believe isn't true. In today's episode, I will help you to begin to notice the lies you are living by and believing. From there, we will make a game plan for walking in the truth.
Don't give in! Living in freedom is possible with Jesus Christ. He wants us to take every thought captive, 2 Corinthians 10:5 We demolish arguments and every pretension that sets itself up against the knowledge of God, and we take every thought captive to make it obedient to Christ.
It will take work, a lot of it, but you can begin to notice, call out, and deal with all the lies that keep you stuck.

We often think of dependency as a bad thing, and it certainly can be. But, with God, dependent is precisely how he wants us to be. In this episode, I will talk about the importance of dependency and how we can get back on the path of letting God into our deepest needs. Independence is the enemy of being dependent on God. Whether the reason is being afraid of God, wanting to pursue our ideas or the false belief that he doesn't care; when we don't seek God to be a part of all our decisions, needs, and desires, we aren't walking in the truth he has called us to called to walk in. But, don't feel bad if this is a struggle for you! Because with God, there is always hope and a way out. When we seek help to change, God will come through for us. The changes will most always be slow, but they will happen. It's just as important not to become discouraged as it is to acknowledge that we need to change in the first place.

God is faithful. He is always good. Although this is true, it can still be tough to rely on this truth. In this episode, we will address how God's faithfulness can be a comfort and an anchor in everything we face. We will learn how to take the steps necessary to begin relying on God's goodness and care rather than our feelings. Because God's faithfulness is separate from our circumstances, then we can be filled with peace. God is and always will be, the one who fights for you. The great God of the Universe may not deliver you from every problem in the way you'd like, but he will not only provide but redeem everything you put into his hands.

Has the Lord given you a promise, but it feels like it isn't happening?
Do you find yourself questioning if you misheard God?
Or wondering if He even cares?
Are you in need of understanding and encouragement as you wait for God to come through for you?
It can be very confusing, frustrating, and hard, to hold on to hope when we are in a vulnerable place and in need of help but are made to wait. In this episode, I will share some of what I have learned about the great faithfulness of God during the long periods of waiting on the promises God has given me to be fulfilled.
No matter the circumstances friend, God keeps His word. No matter how long it takes, He who promised is faithful and will do it! There is no power in heaven, hell, or on earth, that can thwart the plans of God for good in your life.
I want to help you to remain strong in your faith as you learn to trust the heart of God and His timing for everything, including answers in your life.

Have you ever struggled with jealousy? I know I have. After the loss of my three babies in a span of two years the Lord took me on a crash course of learning how to identify, reject, and find redemption from jealousy. Jealousy is an uncomfortable topic and it's not often addressed. In today's podcast, I will address the issue of jealousy in an open and transparent way. My hope is to show you that, although, jealousy is a common sin/problem we don't have to accept it or be ashamed to talk about it. God's goodness is not limited because of past loss, sin, or devastation. Today, we will discuss how to feel glad and not insecure when other's are blessed with what we hoped for. So glad you are here.

God gives us grace for the moment, not the entire situation. Why? Because it is most important that we learn to be truly dependent on God, and God alone. By sometimes withholding immediate our comfort and answering our prayers for deliverance, God can teach our hearts a very important, although painful lesson. True dependence on Him. Listen today for encouragement on how to survive and thrive as you allow God to train your heart to be dependent on Him alone.
