This week, Dr. Jordan Pickering shared a powerful message from John 10:1–10, where Jesus declares, “I am the Gate.”
He reminded us that Jesus is the true Shepherd who leads us to life, while false shepherds only bring destruction. We are called to recognize His voice, surrender our own kingdoms, and follow Him into the abundant life He offers.

In this stirring message titled “Confidence in Future Glory,” Theo Reynolds takes us into Acts 7:54–8:1, showing how the vision of Jesus in glory gave Stephen boldness even in death. We’re reminded that Jesus is our Advocate, and even in suffering, we’re part of God’s bigger plan. The gospel didn’t stop — it spread. As believers, we are beset by false messages and teachers, people who seek to pull us away from sound teaching for their own ends. Laura leads us through Jude 1:1-19, showing us how we can identify these teaching and defend our faith against them.
Even in the early church there were issues that divided believers and threatened the unity of God's people. Today of course we still encounter these issues, so how are we called to behave? In Romans 14 and 15, Paul shows that we are to respond with acceptance, concern for the journey of fellow believers, and working to build one another up.
In light of God's mercy, what should we do? How should it be done, and why should we do it? In Romans 12 and 13, we see that God is transforming us into a new creation, one that loves God and loves people. Stefan leads us through these rich passages, showing that living these out should be a response to what God has already done, and not a way for us to earn salvation.
God is calling to us through the life and ministry of Jesus. Our guest speak, Scott Landman, urges us to not reject the message as many did in His time. Going further, we are to respond to it through faith, accepting God's precious gift for our lives and sharing it with all we know. From Romans 9:30 - 11:36.
As Christians, we are called to live our lives in service and generosity, modelled on the life of Jesus, who gave to the point of poverty so that we might be rich. This week special guest Gareth Miles help us see what that can look like in our daily lives, with a poignant focus on the urgent need for father figures in South Africa.
This week our special guest Jason Sandows speaks on the difference between sonship and the servant, and proximity to God vs intimacy. We are adopted heirs into God's kingdom, and His heart for us led Him to the ends of the earth to reconcile us back to Him.
Last week we heard about love in action, and this week Dambudzo speaks to us about one of the most important of those actions - forgiveness. We are certain to be in need of forgiveness, and to forgive others, and Jesus knew this because He spoke about it a lot!
Love is not just a feeling or an emotion, but an active verb. In 1 John 3, God calls us to a sacrificial love that cares for people in practical ways. In humility, Jesus himself gave up His status to love us. We are called to do likewise, both among people of faith and to the wider world.
Behind loving God, loving people is the "second greatest commandment". This week, Steffan leads us through a Christ-centred view of love, and how we do that with our family, friends, and neighbours.
In Andre's last message with us at Wynberg, he encourages us to run the Christian life with endurance, and not to be distracted by the idols. From Hebrews 12.
Who are God's people, and why has God chosen them as His instrument? This week, Laura walks us through Romans 9, answering these questions and showing that not only are God's people Called, but through this calling we can have the confidence to act in faithfulness and obedience.
Through Jesus we are released from the law. But what then is our relationship with it? Can it be ignored? What can it still teach us? This week, Andre delves into Romans 7 and the profound impact the law has on our lives as Christians.
In Romans, we see not only are we dead to sin, but through Jesus we have been made alive to God and are now instruments of His righteousness. Stefan takes us through Romans 6:1-23 to show us how we may now "walk in newness of life".
Peace, hope, perseverance, reconciliation. In Romans 5, we see that In His death and resurrection, Christ brought these things to those who believe. This week, Ryan leads us through the fruits of our justification through faith.
Much as we try, no action we take can make us "good people" - not being helpful, or following the rules, or being part of a special group. Only through faith can we be "credited as righteous". In Romans 3:21 - 4:25, we see that no one can boast of being a good person. We are blessed when letting go of the need to save ourselves and instead trust that Christ has already done that work on our behalf.
John's famous verse (3:16) is "God's invitation to love the world". This week, our friend Colin Davids joins us to walk word by word through this verse and reveal anew God's heart and passion for His people.
In this introduction to Romans, Andre presents several of Paul's opening themes. We see how Paul presents himself in light of the gospel, his unashamed conviction of its power, and a God that is revealed through faith. From chapter 1 verses 1-17.
This week, Hillary leads us through Revelation 19:11-21, looking at the "triumphant king". Revelation is a famously opaque book, so join us as Hillary puts it into context and draws out God's message for us.
The Christian faith is all about relationships - first with God, and then with one another. By abiding in Christ, we bear fruit in our lives. This week, we hear from John 15:1-8, and see what truly dwelling in God looks like.
For the Christian, suffering is an unavoidable fact. True faith will lead us to times of pain, and in fact our journey with God is refined by the fires of trials. But while we should rejoice in suffering for the faith, we must not confuse it with suffering caused by our own sin. This week Andre leads us through 1 Peter 4:12-19.
In the book of James we find a call to put our faith into action; to embrace a living faith. While we are saved by faith alone, a living faith is one marked by works that build the kingdom of God. Such labour is done not from fear or obligation, but out of a deep joy and desire to participate in God's transformative work. From James 2:14-26.
As humans, we all inhabit many different identities. But as believers our identity as children of God supersedes all others, and we are called to live lives that reflect this. In Ephesians, Paul reveals the mystery of God's revelation in Jesus and calls us into authentic relationships that transcend all earthly boundaries. In light of this, how is God calling you into obedience?
In his first letter to the church, Peter encourages us to humbly cast our cares on Him instead of caring them on our own. The same humility is required to acknowledge we are too weak to resist Satan on our own. This week our special guest Ziba Mbense discusses humility, prayer and our coming glory in Christ (from 1 Peter 5:6-11).
As believers, we are called to live as a family - to be vulnerable with one another, to be united in faith, and to serve one another. But what does that look like in practice? And how do we at times misunderstand this call? This week, Laura guides us through Paul's metaphor of the body, looking at 1 Corinthians 12:12-26.
In Acts 1:16-20, we find a Peter behaving completely different than from just before Jesus' Crucifixion. What changed? And how can we see that change in our own lives, to move from fear and uncertainty to bravery and boldness?
The apostle John makes the claim that Jesus is the "logos", the source of all life. And yet many people in his time rejected Jesus - but why? In examining John 1:1-14, Andre reveals the fear, hurt, and need for comfort that kept people from Jesus. We also see that in our response, God calls us not to duties or obligations, but to genuine, loving relationships.
Many of us are eager to request blessings from God. But are we fully prepared to enter His kingdom, and to "drink from the cup" as Jesus did? This week Andre compares a request from two disciples against that from a humble blind man. From Mark 10:32-54.
In Matthew 2:1-12, we see the story of King Harod's interaction with the Maji. It reveals the collision of two kingdoms; one built on works, fear and intimidation. The other is ushered in by Jesus; one of grace and peace. Follow along as we see how the Maji made their choice, and consider how each of us make our own.
This week we welcome Andre back from a well deserved sabbatical, hearing from Ezekiel 37:1-14. Does your spiritual walk sometimes seem barren and pointless? Ezekiel faced the unenviable task of preaching to a valley of dry, lifeless bones. Listen as Andre leads us through Ezekiel's response to God.
In Jeremiah, the prophet shows that the people of Israel had an incurable wound, one that could only be healed by a new covenant. And through Jeremiah, God promised this new covenant - one that would ultimately be fulfilled in the sinless life of Jesus, the only person both willing and able to reconcile all people to God.
How many "P's" can you find in 1 John 3:11-24? Power. Persuasion. Persecution. (We'll let you find the rest!). This week Colin Davids visits us with a message about the perfect picture of Christ's love we find in John 3.
Hundreds of years before Jesus, the prophet Isaiah told of God's suffering servant, one abandoned and held in contempt. And yet this servant was to bear the sin of many, and show that suffering is an unavoidable consequence of a life lived in faithfulness. But His suffering, and by extension our own, is not without value or purpose - in fact it shows all the greater God's grace, mercy and power.
Are you an insider or an outsider? Either way, Jesus has a message for you - he is the beautiful gate, and through His strength we are saved, not our own. This week we welcome Mike Hampton, leading us through Acts 3.
God has come not to give us just a new life, but a better one. He came to dwell in us, and does more than we can ever imagine. This week, Rigby preaches through Ephesians 3:14-21 and shows us why these verses are "Paul's greatest prayer".

How seriously do you take sin? Are you like Saul, justifying your actions and explaining it away? Or like David, who, when confronted with the realities of his actions, recognises his sin and seeks God's forgiveness? This week, we hear from 2 Samuel Ch 12:1-14.
What does it look like when God chooses a leader? What qualities stand out? This week we're reminded that God's process, and the values He selects for, look vastly different from the world's. From 1 Samuel 16:1-13.
In the days before the kings of Israel, Naomi and Ruth faced a hardship not unusual for women in ancient times. This week, special guest Theo Reynolds explains how the story of their redemption, while powerful on its own, points the way to God's greater redemption through Jesus.
The bible is filled with stories of flawed people, especially those in the book of Judges. But it also recounts how over and over God redeemed those who earnestly sought Him in spite of their flaws, and pointing the way to God's perfect redemption in Jesus. This week, Sinethemba focuses on Gideon and his reaction to an angel of God calling him to lead Israel.
This week we celebrate and praise God for the Lundie family's journey with our community, as they venture in pursuit of God's call in their lives.

Despite witnessing the miracles of God first-hand, many in Israel were ready to give up after years of wandering in the desert. For us today, we might have some sympathy! But faith is trusting that the past works of God are indicators of His promises for the future, even if the present feels like a desert. This week, Andre leads us through Numbers 13 as Israel stands on the cusp of the promised land.
This week, Stefan shows that Leviticus is more relevant than you might think. Its long lists of rules and rituals actually reveal God's deep desire for relationship with His people.

This week Andre leads us through Proverbs 2:1-22, explaining the great benefits from earnestly seeking godly wisdom.
In Proverbs 1:20-33, the writer compares wisdom to a woman crying out in public spaces, with no one heeding its message. Many are content to remain in their ignorance, and yet continuing to make foolish choices leads us to suffer the consequence of our choices. This week, Ryan speaks on why we should cherish wisdom.
This week Stefan shows how the Christmas story, perhaps more than any other portion of the Bible, illustrates how God uses imperfect people to bring forth His Kingdom.

It’s a brand new year and the good news is that God has big plans for each of us personally. God also has big plans for our church this year.
A few years ago God laid it on our hearts to ‘Fill the city with the message, life and fame of Jesus’.
Since then we’ve been passionately committed, more than ever, to serving our city in 5 ways over the ensuing 5 years.
But we can’t do this on our own, and so through this series we’ll be exploring how through the three key areas of Faith, Hope and Love, we are being filled by God, to overflow in these areas to fill the people and city around us.
We’d love for you to join us this January to find out how God is moving in our city, and how you could be a part of making this vision a reality as we are all Filled to Fill.
