Join Coach Cahill and St John Fisher College Offensive Coordinator Ian Pace as they discuss Freshman vs Transfer player, players first dealing with adversity and jumping into the Transfer Portal, players who can't find a home in the transfer portal, the change in the term offer and so much more!
Pace comes to St. John Fisher having most recently been on the coaching staff at Division III Centre College where he guided the Colonels’ offensive line and managed all gameday operations including run play calls and quality control. Prior to his stint at Centre, Pace worked the sidelines at Mississippi State University as the quality control coordinator for the team’s tight ends where he helped lead the Bulldogs to the 2019 Music City Bowl. While in Starkville, Pace led all tight end position meetings and coached Farrod Green who was selected to participate in the NFLPA Bowl and currently plays for the Indianapolis Colts of the National Football League.
"I’m extremely humbled, honored, and enthusiastic to be named the new offensive coordinator at St. John Fisher College,” added Pace who earned a Bachelor’s degree from Fordham before obtaining a Master’s of Science degree from Bowling Green University. “I would like to thank Director of Athletics Bob Ward, Vice President for Enrollment Management Jose Perales, Assistant Athletic Director Jennifer Granger, and the rest of the hiring committee: coaches Bari Mance, Brandon Potter, and athletic facility manager Chris Bowman. I’m extremely excited and very appreciative of coach Vosburgh for this opportunity, and I’m looking forward to joining the St. John Fisher Football family. It is an unbelievable opportunity to help contribute to a program with a rich tradition and promising future. I look forward to rolling up my sleeves and getting to work."
Before making the jump to the SEC, Pace was an integral part of a coaching staff at Fordham University that transformed the Rams into a perennial power. Over his six seasons at Fordham, Pace was a part of nearly 50 wins, a Patriot League title, and three straight NCAA FCS Championship appearances. Upon Pace’s arrival in The Bronx in 2013, the Rams turned a 6-5 team into a 12-2 juggernaut that set a school record for wins in a season and won its first-ever NCAA FCS home playoff game after defeating Sacred Heart in the opening round, 37-27. In 2014, the Rams continued to roll after going 11-3 on the gridiron. The team would go on to win its first conference crown since 2007 en route to another second round appearance in the NCAA Championship. The following season, Fordham posted a 9-3 record and was once again among the league’s top offenses as the Rams made their third consecutive appearance in the NCAA FCS Championship.

Join Coach Cahill and Kenyon College Head coach James Rosenbury as they discuss having tough conversations, helping freshman through their transition and much more! 2020 was coach James Rosenbury's second at Kenyon. A year ago, he helped put the Lords on the rebound with a few wins including a come-from-behind 32-31 double-overtime victory in the season opener at The Catholic University of America.
Prior to coming to Gambier, he worked NCAA Division III Macalester College in Saint Paul, Minnesota. Rosenbury tackled many duties at Macalester. Most recently, he served as the Scots' offensive line coach, special teams coordinator and director of both football operations and recruiting. In previous seasons, he was the program's running backs and tight ends coach.
While at Macalester, Rosenbury helped move the Scots from a 4-6 record in 2015 to a 7-3 record in 2016. Overall, the program was 21-19 in his four seasons there.
A 2008 graduate of Case Western Reserve University, Rosenbury remained on campus and served as an assistant coach, working with offensive backs for three seasons. He contributed to a 31-3 overall record, was part of three University Athletic Association (UAA) Coaching Staff of the Year awards and helped steer the Spartans to three NCAA playoff appearances.
Rosenbury moved on to work for one season at Grinnell College, where he coached running backs and saw the team move from a 2-8 record to a 6-4 mark. He then spent two years at University of Redlands, earning a master's degree in higher education and serving as an assistant coach for the Bulldogs, who logged a combined 14-5 record and made an appearance in the 2011 NCAA Division III playoffs.
Prior to making the move to Macalester, Rosenbury returned to Case in 2013 as an assistant coach for two more seasons. In that time, he worked with offensive backs, special teams and served as assistant recruiting coordinator. He coached four all-conference backs, as well as the UAA Special Teams Player of the Year.
"During my college coaching career, I've had the privilege of working at some of the best Division III high-academic research universities and liberal arts colleges. I love student-athletes who want to be challenged in the classroom, as well as on the field," Rosenbury said.
"I like to think of myself as energetic and enthusiastic. I am a detailed oriented coach and believe in setting clear expectations and holding people accountable," Rosenbury added. "At the same time, I'm positive and do my best to compliment before I criticize. Football is a game and games are supposed to be fun. I see my job as providing an amazing experience and creating an environment where student-athletes can compete and pursue their passions both on the football field and in their academic lives."
During his playing days, Rosenbury was a running back at Case. He rushed for 1,712 yards and nine touchdowns during his career and was a two-time All-UAA selection.

Coach Paul Woodside saved my kicking career as a high school specialist who couldn't get out of his own way. I came across Paul in a book, A Few Seconds of Panic, by Wall Street Journal reporter Stefan Fatsis as he chronicled his experiences as a Denver Broncos training camp kicker. To prep for the experience Fatsis discovered Paul. While I never met Paul, his words coached be powerfully enough through the book - I learned how to get out of my own way, relax and ultimately enjoy kicking more. Woodside's philosophy of kicking really isn't about kicking, but life and the quest to separate one's self worth from their performance with who they are as a person. I highly recommend you take a listen. Enjoy.

One of the fundamental questions in football is this: who gets to play? And, Morgan Smith, rising senior kicker at DII Franklin Pierce University in New Hampshire, has contributed her thread to this question.
While Title 9 enshrines equality between male and female athletes on the field in federal and state law, application of that law often lags behind, and the mindset of courageously living the values that Title 9 represents can lag even farther.
There is a gap between law and its application.
And, it is inside this gap blurry place that we find today’s guest, Morgan Smith telling us her story through her eyes - the highs and the lows in the hopes of inspiring other athletes of any gender that they are more capable and worthy of their dreams than they know.

And, since then Zac has not only become a good friend but somewhat of a mentor not only to myself but numerous other aspiring young athletes looking to achieve a higher level of play. What is it about Zac's story that we find so compelling? Simple - he is the exception to the rule. He didn't go to a big time college, he didn't get drafted but, he had a hunch that he could snap at a high level. And, like Zac, everyone has a hunch deep down of what they think they might be capable of if they just took the chance to dive all in and see what happens. The only difference, however, is that Zac dove in head first. I would hope that Zac's story might inspire you to reconsider what you think is possible in your life. His story reminds us that instead of worrying about "what if this doesn't work out?" to ask ourselves, "yeah...but what if it DOES?" Enjoy.
