Today our job is to practice using the mouse. Remember, we will use the left mouse button today. Keep the mouse on the table, keep the buttons to the top of the mouse, and simply slide the mouse up, down, and side to side.
We are going to practice navigating to different activities and working with more than one tab today. Thanks to Kevin Jarrett for his awesome symbaloo webmix.
Time for two of Mr. Horne's favorite activities. In both games, objects will be falling from the sky. Drop Sum first, then Must Pop Words from our friends at ABCya.com.
Today, we practice using our computers to create online. We will also practice our clicking and dragging skills. First we build a car at two different sites. Next, we will build cars from two sites. After that, we will build some neighborhoods and some houses.

Today, 1st graders are going to learn how to make uppercase letters with our keyboards by using the shift key. First, Keyboard Zoo 2, then we will use our shift key skills to create a short story at Story Maker.
First, visit the Make a Robot activity from our friends at ABCya.com. Then, use the Shift, Enter, and period key on your keyboard to type a list describing what your robot can do.

After the survey, we will practice using two Google Chrome windows at once with the keyboard shortcut to snap windows to the left & the right (Windows Key + arrow key).
Next, open up a window with the Charlie and the Chocolate Factory walk-trough and snap the window to the left. Then, open a new window (Ctrl+N) and visit Poptropica. Now, snap the Poptropica window to the right.

Let's log into our Storybird account and create our own picture books today. We will focus on uppercase letters, punctuation, and one space bar between words. Can you describe the what is happening in each of the illustrations that you choose in your Storybird?
First, log in to your student Google Students. Second, create a new google Doc. Third, using the the story starter below, type one paragraph focusing on your main idea and supporting details.

We are going to take a virtual field trip to the San Diego Zoo and learn basic facts about an animal of your choice. Add a sketch of your animal on your worksheet and list your animals area, habitat, diet, & size.
