“Motherhood is the most wonderful thing I’ve ever experienced…

but I’m not sure I ever want to do it again.”

Within minutes of giving birth, Leysha’s newborn was rushed to the NICU. Doctors told her that her daughter might not make it past the week.

That single moment rewired her entire identity.

Leysha opens up about the side of motherhood we rarely hear about—raw, unfiltered, and terrifyingly real.

🧠 In this episode, you'll learn:

• What no one tells you about becoming a mom when your baby nearly dies

• Why she never saw herself as a “mother”—and how that shaped her journey

• What support systems actually look like (and why “the village” isn’t always who you think)

• The messy reality of asking for help (hint: not pretty, but necessary)

• How hyper-independence shatters when you’re raising a child

• The pressure cooker of raising kids in 2025

• And the one question she believes every woman should ask before choosing motherhood

You don’t have to be a mom to feel this one. If you’ve ever been cracked open by life, forced to grow up overnight, or questioned everything you thought you knew about yourself—this episode will sit in your chest long after it ends.

“It was one of those stories I wouldn’t trade for a million bucks in any currency.”

Elvira’s first love lasted more than 30 years.

They were never fully together, but never fully apart.

Somehow it was always the wrong timing.

But this episode is about more than heartbreak.

It’s about how love changes you.

How grief sharpens your priorities.

And how being single doesn’t mean being incomplete.

🧠 In this episode, you'll learn:

• Why she’ll never settle for someone just to fill a void

• What holding space for a friend actually looks like (no fixing, no rushing)

• The sandbox metaphor that’ll stay with you forever

• Dating in the loneliness pandemic (and the one app she actually liked)

• Knowing the difference between “good time” friends and “low time” friends

• Why curating your circle is emotional self-protection, not ego

• And how to ask the questions people are too scared to ask themselves

We talk about almost-loves, ageing, anger, silence, and the quiet strength of choosing yourself—even when it’s lonely.

Whether you’re in a situationship, healing from heartbreak, or just tired of shallow connections—this one’s going to shift something in you.

JSYK, this episode has spoilers !💭

Have you ever looked at your relationship patterns and thought: “Oh. That was my mom. That was my dad.”

We thought we were watching a quiet K-drama about friendship and small-town life. Instead, When Life Gives You Tangerines handed us a full-blown emotional spiral.

In this episode, Maggy and Nat sit down to reflect on the show’s subtle but powerful take on grief, parental love, emotional absence, and that deep ache of not knowing how to receive softness when you’ve been taught to be strong. They talk about how the way we were raised shows up in the way we date, love, and forgive (or don’t), and how watching WLGYT cracked something wide open.

This one’s for the girlies healing their family wounds while trying to build something softer for themselves.

Our first Hollywood hunk on the pod, meet Sam Song Li.

What do you do when your mom tells you, “Name one person who looks like you on screen”?

Sam ignored the odds—and booked a major role on Netflix’s The Brothers Sun.

In this episode, Sam opens up about how he went from goofy skits on TikTok to acting alongside Michelle Yeoh.

He shares the reality of being an Asian-American actor in Hollywood (spoiler: it’s still a box), what it’s like to get recognized for playing the character everyone hated, and how a role that mirrored his real life helped him find peace with his own story.

We talk typecasting, creative dreams, dating red flags, and how making people laugh became his gateway to something much deeper.

This one’s funny, sharp, and will hit you in the feels—especially if you’ve ever been underestimated.

When you first come across Ray Kam’s content (AKA Daddy Dumpling), you’ll see heartwarming father-son moments—dumplings, laughter, and a whole lot of love. But beyond the viral videos lies a deeper story.

In this episode, Maggy sits down with Ray to unpack how content creation became more than just fun—it became a way to heal old wounds, help his dad rediscover his inner child, and redefine masculinity in a way he never experienced growing up. But going viral isn’t all sunshine and dumplings. With fame comes pressure, identity struggles, and the risk of losing yourself in the process.

It’s okay, it really is OKAY to feel intimidated by politics. The jargon, the history, the coalitions, the ministries, the political figures…we know it can be overwhelming, and you should never feel guilty or condemned just because you don’t understand it.

In this episode of Head Over Heels, we invite Hannah Yeoh (Former Member of Parliament for Segambut and Former Deputy Minister of Women, Family & Community Development) to come onto the podcast to break it all down for us. From understanding what Undi Banjir means, and how elections work in Malaysia to revisiting the political crisis in 2020, and relearning what it truly means to vote as a Malaysian - we try to simplify it all for both you, and for US.

Producer note: Just as you are, we’re in this learning process with you. It’s okay to feel “dumb” or “inadequate”, we’re simply so incredibly proud of you for just SHOWING UP for Malaysia. We hope you remember that everything we do as citizens is for the generations to come; we’re all praying for a better tomorrow.

Trigger Warning: Before you dive into the episode, we just wanted to let you know that this episode may be sensitive and triggering to some of our viewers. This podcast episode revolves around topics that include sexual harassment and sexual abuse. Please know that we stand with you, we hear you, and we support you.

Love, Maggy.

It took us a lot of courage to get to this episode, and we’re going, to be honest, it’s not an easy one to sit through. For centuries, we have heard stories of women getting sexually assaulted, harassed and abused again and again. It breaks out hearts to know that there are so many women out there, still afraid to tell their stories and some are unable to get the support that they deserve.

In this episode of Head Over Heels, we invited guest-host Lez Ann and welcomed our first collaboration episode with the Women’s Aid Organisation (WAO) in conjunction with their #GirlsTakeOver Campaign, a 16 Days of Activism Against Violence. We spoke to a 14-year-old victim of sexual harassment online and Gaayathrey, the Capacity Building Officer from WAO which focuses on Girls Empowerment Programmes.

The intention of this episode is to bring awareness to this issue, and while devastatingly, we may not see the actual change right now, we want to be able to equip our women and girls the knowledge and support they deserve.
