A true crime podcast that covers female slayers (aka murderers) and survivors. The hosts are two sisters separated by distance but connected by their true crime obsession. Every week Dani and Carly Peak cover cases while adding humor, stupid questions, and random thoughts into each others stories.
So we said we'd go back to true crime this week, but Dani can't let go of spooky season. This week she's telling us the story of Sarah Winchester. The heiress to the Winchester Firearms company who wanted to appease the spirits of those killed by her family's guns. She did this by building a house for 36 years, never stopping till the day she died. Today it's known as the Winchester Mystery House and is said to be haunted.
Listen in to learn about Sarah Winchester's reasons for building her house and what may haunt her house today.

Have you heard about Goatman's Bridge - one of America's most demonic locations?
In Texas, the Old Alton Bridge is better known by its more sinister name - Goatman's Bridge. The bridge and its surrounding woods are said to be haunted by demonic entities.
The legend of the KKK hanging Oscar Washburn, a successful goat farmer, from the bridge in 1938 sparked its dark origin story. Since then, the area has been a hotbed for Satanists who perform sacrificial rituals. This kind of activity has opened up what some say is "a portal to hell".
Glowing eyes, loud growls, scratches, and sickness have all been reported by visitors who come at night. Knock three times on the bridge and you too might see the Goatman.
Have you ever felt like someone was watching you? If you have, you probably shake off the feeling and continue what you were doing. But if you were receiving letters from someone calling themselves The Watcher, and the letters contained personal details about you and your family? What would you do then?
The Broaddus family bought their dream home in Westfield, New Jersey; but a few days after closing they received the first of several threatening letters from The Watcher.
You may have watched the new Netflix series, The Watcher, but listen to this episode to hear the true story.

Happy Halloween! We continue with the spooky trend by talking about mediums.
Dani covers the Fox sisters - two young girls who started the spiritualist movement. Their seances captivated the public; they connected to the spirit realm and were able to communicate through knocks or "rappings". But were these girls the real deal, or were they able to fool hundreds?
Carly brings it back to true crime by covering psychic Nancy Weber. She was brought on to several criminal cases by the FBI and police to identify a serial killer and find missing children. She also covers Adrienne Fields and Katherine Hobbs - two women who had a sense, or intuition, that something was going to get them.

It's our holiday horror - not holiday whore - episode! We're bringing you two horrific holiday murder cases:
Early Christmas morning in 1999, Stephanie Barron’s parents were murdered in their bed. With little evidence to go on, detectives scrambled to piece together the double homicide. A stolen gun, a burnt down house, and gang signs all play a role in this twisted case.
In the festive town of Santa Claus, Georgia a quadruple murder was discovered at the Daniels house. Three of the Daniels children were found 40 miles away walking down a dirt road in the middle of the night; they were able to tell police what really happened and help lead them to the perpetrator.

Spooky November is still going strong. Do you wake up naturally at 3am? Do you look in mirrors at night? If you do, you might be a demon!
This week Dani talks about the Ouija board murder of Clothilde Marchand. Two women were told by a Ouija board that she was a witch and murdered one of their husbands. So naturally, she had to die.
Do renovations bring demons to your house? It seems to be the case as Carly reports on another crazy paranormal story. Jeanette and her daughters were ready to start a new chapter of their lives, but unbeknownst to them, the home they moved into was built by an occultist who may have summoned evil spirits.

We are bringing you a special episode all about the Derek Chauvin trial.
Derek Chauvin, a former Minneapolis police officer faced three murder charges surrounding the death of George Floyd. A black man dying in the hands of police custody is something the black community has faced for hundreds of years, but with the murder of George Floyd came an extremely disturbing video that grabbed the attention of the entire world. George Floyd’s death became a huge catalyst in showing the racial injustice and systematic racism people of color face in America.
This historic trial kept Carly glued to the live stream for 3 weeks straight. During this episode she’ll give some insight into what happened during the trial, key moments she witnessed, and her thoughts and feelings on the matter.
The conviction of Chauvin is just a starting point towards equal justice in America. There is a lot more work to be done. Learn more about how you can help fight racial injustice using the links below:

Bonjour! We're bringing you some updates on the latest on-going cases.

Another Dr. Phil guest who attended Turn-About Ranch, Hannah Archuleta, is suing the school for assault. If you listened to episode 55 where we covered the Elan School, it's eerily similar.
Ghislaine Maxwell is now facing new charges. Previously, she faced six charges, mostly around enticing minors to travel and engage in sexual activities. Two new charges were brought against Ghislaine to now include sex trafficking a minor. We're curious what will unfold at trial...

This week Carly covers a murder house - would you live in one? What if it was cheap?
This specific murder house is in Mississauga Canada. Three deaths occurred in this house over a period of five years. First, Bill Harrison died of what seemed to be natural causes, then his wife Bridget died from falling down the stairs, but after a closer look the death was ruled suspicious. The last family member to die in the house was Bill and Bridget's son, Caleb. His death screamed foul play, and this caused the police to take another look at all three deaths. Listen to find out who's behind the murders!
Dani shares some facts about sexual assault awareness month, taking place now in April, and covers the infuriating case of Brock Turner. We were all shook when he only received 6 months for sexual assault, but what about his victim? She remained anonymous for years, but has now released her identity - Chanel Miller. Her powerful victim impact statement (which she reads in full here) went viral and she published the memoir "Know My Name". She is an accomplished writer and did not let the sexual assault define her.

Happy Easter! They say Jesus has risen, and today Carly's survivor has risen from a container.
Kala Brown and her boyfriend Charles Carver were hired by Todd Kohlhepp to do some work on his 95 acre property. But when the couple arrived, Charles was shot and killed, and Kala was put in a container with a collar chained to her neck. For the next two months Kala was held in the container until Todd decided he needed to post on Facebook to make the couples disappearance look less suspicious. But he did the opposite
The posts were reported to the police, who were able to track the phone, and catch Todd.
While in custody, Todd also confessed to several other murders. This may have shocked people who only knew him as a successful real estate agent, but Todd had served 15 years in prison and was a registered sex offender. He had a long history of violence, listen to find out more!

There's a glitch in the matrix this week. One minute before recording Dani and Carly decided to focus on one story this week since Dani's case is complicated, fascinating, unbelievable, and we had never heard of it before this week!
Do you about the assassination of Kim Jong Nam, the half brother of Kim Jong Un?
Siti Aisyah and Doan Thi Huong smeared a chemical agent on Kim Jong Nam in broad daylight in an international airport. One hour later he was dead.
The news called the women "female assassins" and "femme fatales", but Siti and Doan didn't know they killed Kim Jong Nam, they didn't even know who he was. They thought they were starring in a prank show.
This story is the craziest one yet. Listen in!

Warning: Long intro alert! Dani and Carly need to fill you in on some current events before jumping into their stories! They give the latest developments in Sarah Everard's case and what's going on in Derek Chauvin's trial.
Now to the stories for this episode -
Carly covers another EPIC QUEEN from history - Ranavalona I, also known as the Mad Queen of Madagascar. Ranavalona's famously savage behavior came to light after her husband's passing. She brought back the practice of trial by "Tanguin" essentially forcing an accused person to swallow a poisonous nut. When she wasn't forcing people to eat poison, she was having them thrown off cliffs, boiled to death, and having their bodies sawed in half (lengthwise, head first) - yikessss.
Dani covers the tragic sole survivor case of Brenda Lin. On July 18th, 2009 in New South Wales, Min Lin, his wife Yun Lin, their sons Henry and Terry; and Yun Lin's sister Irene Lin, were bludgeoned to death in the Lin family home. 15-years-old Brenda Lin found out about her family's murders while she was away on a school trip. This week we need your opinion, is Pam Hupp a serial killer? Carly talks about several deaths that Pam is suspiciously close to. Her best friend is the first to go, then her mother's “accidental” death, then she kills a stranger in self-defense. Tell us what you think! Dani covers the case that the Netflix show Unbelievable is based on. Marie was 18 when she was raped, due to the trauma it was difficult to remember exactly what happened. Because details changed each time she told her story and her foster mom thought she was lying for attention, the police didn’t believe she was raped. They dropped the case. It's our first episode! We awkwardly try to describe what our podcast is about, so please make it through the cringeworthy first few minutes to learn that we cover female murderers (aka slayers) and survivors. We're sisters, so naturally the oldest one got to choose if she wanted to slay or survive this week. Dani chose to cover the slayer Celeste Beard, forcing Carly to talk about a brave young survivor, Krystal Surles.
