Catching Creativity is a podcast for educators of all types. We'll be exploring some big ideas in education, sharing great things happening in our school district, and learning from incredible educators from across the region. Our goal is to catch creative ideas so they can be shared with a wider audience.
In this episode, we hear from Kyla Drammeh, Elementary 1st grade EL teacher. She'll speak to her experiences as an online teacher, share some tips for those of you in a distance learning situation, and provide some perspective on equity related considerations you should consider.

In this episode, we'll discuss how Shakopee is approaching the pandemic this year with our Shakopee IHD and Online programs. Then we'll hear from Jackie Yego, 8th Grade English teacher, who is teaching online this year. Finally, we'll share some tips on how to make your live video classes interactive with some tech tools and discuss ways to model the use of technology to help support students.
Tech Tools:
Padlet: A digital cork board for students to submit their ideas (potentially in an anonymous way). Lots of creative ways to use this tool!
Pear Deck: Display Google Slides and insert formative assessment questions.
Whiteboard.fi or Whiteboard.chat: Create a teacher whiteboard and give each student their own whiteboard that you can view on a dashboard.
